On Gallows behind the 7-11. Very unassuming, but I trusted yelp. I recently moved offices and starting scouting the area for lunch and today I felt like Chinese. Ordered a Singapore shrimp noodle for $13. This hole on the wall with only place for a few chairs to wait for your order had some surprisingly tasty Singapore noodles. The shrimp, albeit tiny, was tender. There was definitely some heat to the dish! Enough for 2 meals! Service was also great! Will I come back? You betcha!

My friends and I ordered an assortment of food to commemorate the end of 2024. I am not able to speak to the service as we ordered takeout; however, the food itself was tasty. Overall, I was impressed by the flavorful dishes and extremely satisfied with the way the shrimp fried rice was cooked. The portion sizes were also very surprising and left plenty leftovers. The major con for me was the General Tso's Chicken, it lacked the usual spiciness and overall taste of the General Tso dish. Honestly, it tasted exactly like an orange chicken dish which left me disappointed and contributes to my lower rating. My friend who ordered a the tofu dish echoed my sentiments about the flavor as well. Also, if you want extra sauces they do charge an extra fee so make sure you have a few sauce options at home if needed.

I appreciate the freshness of the food as well as it not being super greasy. It definitely tasted healthier than most American Chinese food I've had. I also appreciate the promptness of our food preparation, even on a busy NYE night. However, unfortunately some of the flavors fell a little flat. I enjoyed the fried rice and lo mein but the stir fried vegetables tasted basic. Lastly, I was not the biggest fan of the crab Rangoon as there was hardly any cream cheese in the filling and they were almost tough.

Small mom and pop shop behind the 7/11, it's definitely easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The owners are super nice and the fuss is really really good. My girlfriend lives kung pao shrimp, we got that for her, it was a a little on the spicy side but it was still full of flavor and really good. They do a great job with portions here as it was a good amount of shrimp. I got the Beef Chow Fun, which reminded me of drunken noodles/pad see ew and they were really good as well. I'll definitely be back!!

We tried Chans for a last minute dinner. The woman managing the register was so so kind and friendly first of all. The food was the best Chinese we've had in the Tysons/Falls Church area thus far! The orange chicken was all white meat, tender and juicy. We only wished it had a bit more orange flavor in the sauce. The fried rice we got was the best we've had in the area and the lo mein was pretty good too. Chans will be our new go-to Chinese takeout spot! We're looking forward to trying something new next time we go. I also saw on the menu they have pretty good lunch specials until 3pm!

Chan's Kitchen is a take-out only / delivery place for American-style Chinese food in the Dunn Loring area. It was busy on a Friday evening in mid-January 2024, so they must be doing something right. Lots of pluses for this place which opened recently (October 2023, I think). First, the waiting area is clean and the owners are friendly and responsive. Second, parking is easy in a mini-strip mall just west of the traffic light where Gallows Road meets Electric Ave (behind the 7-11 store). Third, the homemade dumplings were really outstanding - we had two orders which quickly got gobbled up by a family of 4, including two older teenage sons. The only minus (reason for 4 stars) was a much longer than expected waiting time for our carry-out order (45 minutes instead of 20 minutes). It could have been that our timing was in the middle of a surge of take-out orders. This will become our neighborhood "go-to" for American-style Chinese food. Just remember that no indoor dining is available (take-out only).

Talk about a standout service, price, quantity, all around American Chinese restaurant. Probably first of its kind in the area. We have ordered takeout twice now and both times quantity was sufficient and not overpriced. Their hot sour soup is actually one of the better ones I've had in a long while. The second time we went, something went wrong with order fulfillments and orders were taking 45-60 minutes. Many apologies were issued but then also we were surprisingly given an extra comp app and drink. Small gesture and certainly not necessary but so appreciated. This is customer service so many other restaurants can learn from!

Four pancakes and enough Moo Shi Pork for two people.

The location isn't highly visible, on Electric Avenue near Gallows. Maybe that's why they don't receive more acclaim. Because they offer the best Chinese-American food I've found in Northern VA. In fact, the Moo Shi Pork is the best I've had anywhere, and I've lived and worked all over, including San Francisco. I knew I'd struck gold when I opened the door and was greeted by this amazing aroma. And the lady who greets you is so friendly and welcoming. The portions are enormous - easily enough for two people. Their spring rolls are also very good. But note: it's takeout only. Highly recommended.

Located in a center behind the 7-Eleven along Gallows and Electric Avenue. A take-out and delivery option only place with no seating available. The dishes were prepared fresh and to order; however, there was a consistent sweet flavor in all our ordered items. The service was very quick and friendly and the experience from ordering to pick up was with ease. The restaurant is small, but very clean with just a counter upon entry, but serves its purpose! Will be back to try other options. Enjoy!

I got their cumin beef and their long pepper chicken. Both had the correct, and diverse flavors I enjoy from "non-American-style" Chinese joints. The heat level was also perfect; nice & spicy!! This place has a robust take-out business (DoorDash drivers running in and out). It's great for foodies, but also a noisy place (not ideal for a first date). Free parking is easy in a strip mall lot in downtown Vienna between the CVS and Giant. On the plus side, it has authentic Szechuan-style dishes, including dried cauliflower (savory blend of flavors with a hint of peppercorn), the baby bok choy with tofu skins (to enjoy and refresh the palate), Lazi Chicken (fried chicken bits with peppercorn), and stir-fry green beans. My sons devoured the Lazi Chicken dish and wished that it had more chicken chunks. Small bowls of white rice are included. They also have American-style Chinese food (e.g., kung-pao chicken) but we only ordered a small number of Szechuan-style dishes. On the minus side, it's a tiny space with a limited number of tables (most accommodate up to 4 people). Noise level is high, but maybe that was because it was Saturday night. Overall, we'll continue to order takeout from this place! But we may visit again during off-peak hours.

They were able to accomodate us. The owners/managers were very helpful and friendly. I opted for the Steak teriyaki bento box with came with steak (medium rare) teriyaki, rice, 3 tempura shrimp, 2 tempura veg, 3 cali rolls, 3 gyozas, miso soup & salad for about $22.00. The miso soup was good but the salad was avg. The dressing got really watery. The gyozas & Cali rolls were fair but generous servings of tempura were outstanding! Crisp & hot. Even after 10 mins. Not oily or greasy. The rice was cooked properly. The only misstep was the steak. The steak was also cooked properly at medium rare & looked beautiful. The inside was nice and pink. But upon chewing, the steak was not tender at all. Very very chewy. When you were young, you were taught fo chew at least 30 times. Well, this exceeded the recommended amount of chewing. The steak has a nice beefy flavor but just tough. SHAME. Overall, Sweet Ginger is a very popular and nice place to have Japanese food. The sushi plates (not pictured) were colorful and beautiful. My cousins finished the plates so thats a good thing. The steak was just not great for me.
