I've never been to the actual restaurant but I've ordered from them several times on Uber Eats. I usually get the BBQ spare ribs, crispy fried wontons (these look like rangoons) and last order I did the wonton soup. Really good food for a place that I've passed many times and never gone in. I can guarantee you I'll be back. Had just been car shopping and was hungry and wanted something to eat and my friend said why don't we get Chinese and we came here without knowing anything about the place and it was quick and hot and delicious. The waiter kept pushing the Peking duck, but it wasn't what my friend or I felt like. Had a kick but it wasn't so spicy that I couldn't feel my tongue. My friend had the vegetable spring roll and she said it was good as well. We got a chicken fried rice to split and she had the moo goo gai pan and I had a dish with shrimp, chicken, beef, and vegetables in a brown sauce. It was really good and very filling and we have lots of leftovers. There were quite a number of tables filled when we got there and more people while we were eating. I guess it could be construed as a Chinese carryout but they definitely had enough tables for people to sit and eat. I suppose they probably do a big lunch business as there are a lot of businesses around the area plus a lot of shops and stores. I would recommend giving this place a try. Not sure what happened, China Wok, but it's totally you, and not me. The last few visits were just not great - I think it's more of a consistency issue, or maybe they have changed the chef? We used to come here and order quite a spread - the Peking Duck, the Beef Chow Foon, the Young Chow Fried Rice, and their seafood dishes. Unfortunately, they haven't been tasting like how we remembered them being, either being super bland or not fried well enough (where it's extremely soggy). China Wok reputed to have the 2nd best Peking Duck in the Metropolitan area. Patrons come here for their Peking duck and then whatever they feel like that comes next. (In fact we pre-order Peking ducks for Thanksgiving every year). We had 2 orders, and there were plentiful (for 8), and served with hand-rolled wraps, scallions, and sauce. The service here can be best described as friendly and casual, as you'd expect from an uncle or aunt. I ordered curry fried tofu. I got Mapo Tofu (soft tofu with brown sauce. I tried to tell them they made a mistake, but they refuse to listen -well here is the evidence. 11/13/2021, our crew came through and ordered a lot! The 11 of us ordered three Peking ducks and eight other dishes (I'm going to forget some of the other dishes because the Ducks stole the show by a large margin). Here is our breakdown. Peking Duck: for $44, the Duck, dough wraps, onions, and the sauce were a total steal! The portion sizes were generous and the price is reasonable! The Duck meat was juicy and the skin was amazing! They also gave us the bones and the legs/wings. 10/10. This dish is a must have. Fish with Chives Flower: for $17 I guess the dish is okay? It was not too memorable and I'm typing this up only 90mins after the meal. Okay-ish dish LOL. Spicy Beef 水煮牛: $19. This dish was good. There was a good kick in the spices and the veggies in the dish complemented the beef really well. The beef itself was not bad. The dish definitely had elements of Sichuan/Chongqing, but the dish lacked the essence of those places. Therefore, 8/10. 豆苗 Pea Sprout: The restaurant cooked it with sugar. I think the Shanghainese chef instructed the restaurant to cook this dish that way. It was definitely a new spin on pea sprouts. A weird and somewhat delicious new spin perhaps? 7/10. Tofu Eggplant w/ Salted Fish: this delicious was simply delicious. This was definitely the 2nd best dish of the night, behind the Duck. 9.5/10. 香干肉丝: I don't think my crew liked the dish as much as the others. I personally didn't eat it, so I'll take their words on it. They gave it 6/10. The service was great. The waiters were pretty attentive and filled our water regularly. Overall experience 4.5/5. I'm rounding this up to a five star review simply because the Duck was amazing and it's only $44! read more

Amazing dishes! I had been reluctant as the name seemed generic--boy I was wrong. The Peking duck is similar to the one at Peking Gourmet Inn , even the pancakes and way it is served. However they are able to keep prices fair. We had the full duck at about 40% less cost than the other place and all of us were happy. The owner stated they get theirs from Long Island too and cook it for hours til that crispy skin is achieved. The shrimp and black bean sauce was great w chives. They had snow pea greens in season too. Service was impeccable as they even topped up our teapot several times. Definitely will make this a result rotation to try other dishes along w the duck. We went on a Saturday around 11:30 am. There was a constant flow of customers, mainly Chinese. We went for the duck, which was so so. The price is pretty reasonable. The yangzhou fried rice was good. It had chicken, shrimp, and chinese bbq pork. The Chinese watercress with garlic was cooked well. Not overly cook. The chef is from Chongqing, so I ordered the hot & spicy braised fish with tofu (豆花鱼 dou Hua yu) The staff was very attentive and friendly. The hot and sour soup was also good. My friends and I came to this restaurant after our Tysons Corner trip and the food was decent. They have a mixture of more authentic Chinese food and more Americanized Chinese food so the variety was great. We entered mid day on a Saturday and the restaurant was on the quieter side compared to other restaurants in the same plaza. The service was great! The workers were very friendly and sat us almost immediately. I got one of their special dishes that was recommended to me by our waitress and it was delicious. The dish is braised pork with tofu served with white rice. Serving size is quite big. The only issue we faced was price difference from the menu. The Hot & Sour soup was excellent. I ordered the Shrimp with Lobster Sause and asked for broccoli rather than the other vegetables which normally come with the dish. I decided on a whim to grab lunch when I was in the area and I'm sooo happy I did! A lady quickly showed me to the counter where I could place a to-go order. I can't ever find a flavorful, crispy, saucy, and mostly chicken (not breading) sesame chicken, so I decided to try at this place. A quick 10 minutes later I swung by (after a quick stop at TJMAXX nearby) and grabbed my order. I couldn't stop thinking about this chicken the whole drive and let me tell you, when I finally opened that order it was EVERYTHING I had hoped for! The sesame chicken was generously saucey and crispy. It had a perfect amount of sesame seeds sprinkled on top and a side of sticky rice. The egg roll was crispy and flaky - you could tell they made these at the store and they were so much better than your run-of-the-mill egg rolls from other Chinese places. Another just a really nice, pleasant dinner on a weeknight at this place. We do have to be in the mood for Peking Duck to come out here but every once in a while, we are - and so we go...HERE. Seriously though, where else can you just SPONTANEOUSLY decide you want Peking Duck and just jump in the car and casually head to a place that will serve it in a clean, unassuming and intimate setting and not cost you an arm and a leg? Virtually nowhere else except China Wok in Tyson's. Right off 7, in the Pike 7 Plaza (TJ Maxx, DSW, Staples), loads of parking, no reservations necessary, quick service, friendly owners who have been there forever. This is an unassuming place that has had amazing longevity, a true hidden gem. Aside from the Peking Duck, you can order the usual Chinese fare but also true authentic Chinese fare from the special menu under the table glass. Authentic and delicious. We still like targeting mid week for dinner (vs Fridays or weekends) because of the non-crowds. This visit, 2 of us, ordered half a duck and the 5 Pepper Chicken (beware, it'a a bit spicy but delicious and comes out piping hot), a soda and a very cold Heineken. 45 bucks (before tip). And we took home the leftover chicken dish which, literally, looked like we hadn't even touched it before we put it in the to-go box, the portion sizes of their dishes are HUGE. So take THAT into consideration when factoring in cost (and even without considering that, prices are very fair). We ended up having another whole meal with the leftovers the next day. On this visit truth be told, the duck meat was on the slightly-overdone side and wasn't as juicy and tender as we're used to getting but not enough to really complain about. It was still delicious and I know getting a half duck order can be catch as catch can sometimes. But I truly believe the owners would not serve anything they wouldn't serve themselves. It was fine. I tried this restaurant and it is pretty good Chinese food and close to home. The young chow fried rice had nice slices of bbq roast pork, peas, carrots, lettuce and some egg. No Chinese sausage and I wish there was more egg. The beef chow foon is delicious and they just need to char the chow foon longer in the wok for more flavor. I plan to go back and try the $50 whole Peking duck. It was on the less salty side but they included plenty of soy sauce packets so you can adjust to your palate. Came around 7 and my family felt rushed, even though they close at 9 and we were quite literally the only people in the restaurant. They say that you know you're at an authentic and good Asian restaurant when the service is a little rude, slow, and standoffish, but unfortunately, the food just didn't justify this tonight and the only thing that was thoroughly finished was the crispy noodles. Peking duck taste and portion size were good, but the porkchops with garlic I ordered tasted funky so I could only take two bites out of it before putting it down. A recent review says "would not recommend to those who are hardcore foodies," and I can't help but feel that this was perfectly said. My family has been coming here every once in a while for years. It's a decent meal, but I'm mainly leaving this to say that there is room for improvement on this nice family business if they work to revamp the food that once inspired them to share their foods with the Tysons area. China Wok arguably has the best and Peking duck in the DMV and the best bargain. Food here is authentic Chinese! The Peking duck is masterfully cut so that the meat is thinly cut and the skin is crispy without the fat. An old top Peking duck chef trained the staff so they have kept the art of duck carving which is an integral part of the dish. The flavor is excellent and they make their own wrap in-house. Half a duck is $25, and a whole duck is $50 including sauce, scallions, and wrapper. The duck carving is much more masterfully done than Peking Gourmet Inn, which is $80 for a whole duck. The pork chop with garlic is delicious. It's a fried breaded pork chops with scallions and garlic. The "fish stew in premium pickled sauce" was also delicious. The service is very friendly. PS. This restaurant is such a hole in the wall but absolutely worth it! The only thing you need to know is that the WHOLE Peking duck is $43.95.
