It leaned clean rather than fatty. After awhile, I got tired of the heavy sodium flavor. There was a good amount of meat, and the noodles were a good texture -- bit chewy and not soggy. Overall, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. My friend enjoyed her rice combination dish with grilled pork and shredded pork skin. They promptly provide both the lunch special menu and the full traditional menu, which I appreciated. I am Vietnamese, and several family members throughout several generations are chefs and/or own restaurants on both coasts. I cook my own food as well. This is authentic Vietnamese food. If you want healthy, delicious food, this is a great place! The pho bone broth is clear, fragrant and spiced just right. The food portions are a good value for the price. The Hu Tieu, beef stew, and other soups are also great. I have never had anything bad at any of their restaurants. I love that they are now offering a variety of banh mi sandwiches and lunch specials. The variety on the menu is excellent. The banh xeo seafood crepes are made right. The rice vermicelli bowls and rice entrees just hit the spot to satisfy my cravings. My go-to dish is the Grilled Pork rice vermicelli bowl with Fried Egg Roll (Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio). The only thing they do not have is the Banh Cuon (Rice Crepes), but maybe they will add it in the future. They also offer boba milk teas, Thai tea, Vietnamese coffee, juices, and more. The ambiance is casual and quiet and sometimes with light music. The place is immaculately clean and inviting. As with most Vietnamese restaurants, you can sit anywhere, and you can take your time to go up to the register to pay. Vietnamese custom is that they do not like to rush you. My wife and I came here for a casual dinner around 6pm with delicious pho (#4 and #10) on a Saturday night in late January 2026. This is a great place on a cold winter night! It's become our "go-to" option in the neighborhood for several reasons. First, parking is free in the lot behind the restaurant. Second, it has a spacious and clean interior. Third, the service was especially attentive and prompt on Saturday evening. I like their beef pho which has a mild broth ($14.95 regular size, $15.95 large size). The only blemish of Pho Hai Duong is that their side booths are somewhat uncomfortable (rigid backboard), but you can sit at the interior tables which allow you to spread out a bit more. read more

Super clean pho restaurant with an interesting choice of a big chandelier in the middle, giving it a slightly upscale-ish feel and I am guessing it is because it is in the Tysons Corner area. You get a big mountain of bean sprouts on a plate even just for 3 people too. The sauces were all filled and the sauce bottles were clean too for anyone that cares lol. If you can't find parking in front, there is more in the back. We had no issues getting any. The service was very friendly and attentive! It's just sad that inflation has driven pho prices up to being almost $20 per bowl when it was always $5-$7 before. 2 bowls of pho + 1 order of spring rolls = $51 with tip. But today, after bragging about this spot to my gf, the pho had some of the most watery tasteless broth I've had. Not even siracha, lime, and hoisin could bring this back to life. Some days the broth is flavorful, balanced, and really hits the spot--other days it tastes a little flat, like something was missing. The biggest issue is the inconsistency. When it's good, it's really good... when it's off, you definitely notice. I also wish the soup came out a bit hotter. Pho should arrive steaming, but a couple of times it came out just warm enough, which takes away from the experience. I've visited multiple times and everything I've ordered has been good and well-portioned. Pho broth is flavorful, noodle bowls are fresh, iced coffee is strong. I ordered the banh xeo recently and it was light and crispy, full of shrimp and pork with an abundant side of fresh veggies. I've found few places that can execute a well-made banh xeo. I was a frequent flyer at their location in Eden Center as I narrowed down their establishment as the top broth in the area. Competition was fierce when I lived in Falls Church where the choices for pho are in abundance. I have to admit, I was once an MSG junkie and there were many establishments that abused this ingredient in particular. I once commented that their name written in gold at the Eden Center is no coincidence as their broth should certainly be the gold standard to which all broths should be compared. After working in Vietnam for some time, got so tired of pho. But after a couple years of abstinence, started to enjoy pho again at Pho Hai Duong's shop in Annandale. So I was happy when they opened up another location in Vienna a few minutes from our home. We don't get to eat out as much so we order to go more often. But the owner is a really nice guy that runs both locations, so I hope you can meet him if you ever go. Pho, Bahn Xeo, Bun Bo Hue and Summer Rolls. Their Pork Chop on rice, Rice Vermicelli and Clay Pot dishes are also so good. A lot of authentic Vietnamese variety here. Love it. And so glad Danny started managing this location since early last year. Can really tell the difference in the whole operation of the place, from the food and to the service. I came home from college for the weekend and wanted to relax and eat a nice bowl of pho with my family. A good bowl of pho is hard to come by at school but thankfully I have Pho Hai Duong nearby at home. I'm half Vietnamese and I grew up eating a lot of Vietnamese food so I have high standards for it. Pho Hai Duong is an authentic and dependable option for Vietnamese food. In my opinion, it is the best place to get a bowl of pho right now in the McLean-Tysons area. We ordered the Cha Gio (Crispy Spring Rolls) and Goi Cuon (Summer Rolls) for appetizers. The Cha Gio is standard and good. They are on the smaller side and while they are not the best I've tasted, they are also far from bad. The Goi Cuon was good. They were rolled well and the ingredients were fresh. I ordered a small bowl of the Pho Tai Chin and was impressed. The portion of the small size was awesome. The soup was light, flavorful, and hearty. The medium rare eye round steak was tasty and satisfying. The noodles were good and I have no complaints about them. They were not over cooked and had a nice bite to them. I also tried the Com Tam Dac Biet (rice platter with pork). The pork was good, and well marinaded and seasoned. The egg quiche and shredded pork were nice additions that are hard to come by in Vietnamese food in the McLean-Tysons area. Overall, I like Pho Hai Duong. Although it's not the best pho or Vietnamese restaurant in northern Virginia, it's an authentic and dependable option for when I don't want to drive out to Fairfax or Arlington to get my pho fix. read more
