I ordered a seafood Pho which arrived with lots of shrimp and squid. The vegetables were plentiful and the broth was amazing, so tasty! My wife likes the vermicelli with grilled shrimp, the best we had ever tasted. Service was so quick and pleasant, the place small, but spotless. I thought I'd try another new vietnamese spot today on my way home from my dentist appointment, saw this place had lunchbox meal deals for a decent price so I ordered online for pickup! I got the chicken satay, and it was reaaaally good! Only 2 pieces but they were really big ones. The peanut sauce was less thick than most places but it's probably one of my favorites I've had. I LOVE the lunchbox meal options! It's a good way to get a somewhat healthy balanced meal with a protein, some jasmine rice, a salad, and a spring roll with peanut sauce all in one without having to order everything separately for 5x as much. First time eating here & should have read the reviews. Started with the fresh summer rolls - rice paper was on the hard side. Ordered the 2 protein vercimelli bowl (chicken & pork) definitely not grilled & under cooked. Italian dressing was literally poured on my pickled carrots/radish. Took 4-5 bites of appetizer & main dish and couldn't stomach the rest. Once you've had authentic VN food from Eden you know how the flavoring should be. The person who took my order and checked me out was so kind, and so nice which was definitely a plus. Now to the actual food: + Broth was rich, clean, and tasty! It definitely filled that empty cold spot in my heart. + Meat was tender but there was some weird black spots on our brisket that we have never seen before at other restaurant. + To go order was seriously lacking in green onions and cilantro and the soup container was filled about 3/4th up, which was perfect for our portion but usually you get a full serving at other restaurants. + Prices were a few dollars more expensive than the other spots around town. + Eggrolls and nuoc cham were quite bland Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing here but in terms of pho, I'd rather pull up to an atm and head to Pho 75. read more

Second time going to this place. The food wasn't as good as the first time. The service was terrible. We had to ask for napkins 3 times and every time she brought only 2!!!!! Food was very bad! I had the pho and when it was brought out to me, I could see that the noodles were from an instant noodle package as they had not separated and melted into the hot soup yet and were still in their packaged shape. Once I got them separated, they were very bad....thin and not like the thicker noodles I normally see in pho. There was very little meat in the soup, probably about three thin slices. When I crave Viet food and in a crunch for time, I often will come here. They have a pretty extensive menu including traditional Viet dishes to pho. They also have a lunch menu with a good amount of dishes to pick from. The lunch boxes come with a salad, your choice of roll - spring roll or summer, rice and of course, your entree. My favorites are the ginger chicken and the shaky beef. My friend loves their pho - I haven't tried but it looks and smells delicious. Service is good but sometimes understaffed. If it's busy, it can take a bit of time. No biggie, just know that if it's during lunch rush, you can wait a bit. read more

I got pho to go on a cold rainy day! I ordered pho with Rib eye, flank and brisket. The receptionist was very nice and polite! I ordered it at the checkout counter and then sat at the nearest table while they made the order. The aesthetics were dim lighting, with tiling, some plants and the honour shrine worked into the checkout counter. The food didn't take that long to make. I think I waited about 6 minutes for the to-go order. When I got back to work, I unpacked everything in the photo below. The broth was really tasty! The size was really good! I made one pho cooking the meat and then put in the remaining noodles and other ingredients to have a second meal later on shift. I'm a fan for Viet Aroma and will be back! read more

This place is very efficient. And I mean that literally. They keep their overhead low and run this place to stretch every dollar. When we stopped in there was only one person working. As a result, service was slower but our table got the customer service we needed; no more and no less. We were given water to start. No refills. Just enough water in our glasses to finish our meals; no more and no less. The summer rolls were good..not overheaped and stuffed with fresh herbs like I love but...rather..it was all very efficient use of ingredients ..no more and no less. The vermiccelli bowls were exactly the same. My heart is sad that I don't see a heaping pile of mint or cilantro and a nice bowl of sauce...rather..this looks like a tiny amount of food in my bowl. But it was the right portion..no more and no less. The meats were delicious; we had chicken, beef and shrimp and I would do it all over again. And yet despite all this. I can't say that I would love to return here. I didn't enjoy my meal. I don't want to pay for rations. Don't get me wrong; I don't want to be wasteful either. But for $15 a plate I feel shorted. HOW HAVE I NOT REVIEWED THIS PLACE YET? This is a stone's throw from my house and I'm what you might call "a regular." Have struggled to sample much of the menu though because after discovering the Bun special I've been a bit stuck. It's too good to pass up what with the combination of lemongrass beef, fried shrimp/tofu, grilled shrimp, and pork mix over a bed of thin vermicelli rice noodles. Mmmmm. That said, the Pho Sate really hits the spot on a cold winter's day too. All in all, pretty much everything we've gotten here has delighted us... most of it during the last year, of course, has been take-out. The service is exemplary. Probably the friendliest staff around that I've run into. There's another Asian restaurant in the same shopping center with the same service-first family feel... but every time I order it feels like I've come home. Why do I have to leave Vienna for good Pho? Well because this is the only Pho joint in Vienna and it is not recommended. As previous Yelpers pointed out. This place is run by one grumpy lady who does everything. That in itself is not a major issue but it does affect the food. The Pho is average at best but when it is served with a frown I will much rather drive to Tysons and get a good Pho with a smile. And THEN there are the hygiene issue referred to by Tony G. The Board of Health pretty much pointed out what we expected. Personally we wont eat here again for all the reasons pointed out above. So sad. Came here one day during the power outage and have always wanted to try it out since it's received stellar reviews. It was in the later evening 8 or 9PM, it was pretty packed since everyone was eating out due to the power outage. Parking was very limited and had to go around a few times to find a spot. Upon entering, they seemed pretty busy. There were only two workers at the time. No one had greeted nor acknowledged us. We continued to stand there and wait a little while longer, still no acknowledgement. One of the customers - regulars, had gotten up from their meal and actually assisted them in cleaning tables to help out. Very kind hearted and sweet but that is also embarrassing to the business in my opinion. I believe we waited nearly 45 minutes or so before being sat. It took a while longer to even place an order as well. By this time we are starving and many items on the menu seemed appetizing. We ended up ordering some Pho and rice dishes. I can say that it is far from authentic. It was very Americanized Vietnamese. The pho was bland and had no flavor. For the price that we paid, I either expected it to taste better or larger portion. I will not be returning and will venture out to falls church instead next time I want authentic Vietnamese. read more

Some dishes are more delicious than others. I ordered the rice platter and fish claypot before and they were pretty good. However, I ordered Bun Bo Hue today and it was bad. It lacks all the typical meats for Bun Bo Hue like pig knuckle, blood cube, even Vietnamese ham. The brooth was even more disappointing- basically pho brooth with shrimp paste on the side. Visited Viet Aroma for the first time last week. We arrived shortly after 2PM on a weekday, so there were only a few customers in the restaurant at the time. The waitress immediately greeted us and we ordered our drinks. The thai iced tea was good- not too sweet. We ordered the Rock N Roll sampler to share, the Fantastic Four to make our own rolls, and a Steak Pho. The food came out quickly and tasted very fresh. Wanted some pho, summer roles and steamed dumplings and found you through Yelp directly. My food was ready as soon as I arrived and it was all filling and delicious. Thank you for having an already put together Pho bowl with the meat, noodles, scallions and cilantro in the bowl with the bean sprouts, jalapenos, limes and mint in a bag and the broth separate. Broth has good flavor and brings the whole soup pho thing together as one! The steamed dumplings were delicious and plentiful and the sauce standard but good. The summer rolls look bigger than normal, they look good but will be a meal for later. Surprisingly even during the pandemic they have what seems like a regular menu. Made for it to be super easy to order online, pay and then pickup. The restaurant is organized and was ready with my food as soon as I entered. They have a nice option to pickup curbside, which is great similar to most takeout restaurants now. Highly recommend a trip to this local establishment. Terrible customer service!! Viet Aroma cancelled our Grubhub order because they said they could not see if we left tip for the driver. When I said I checked the order confirmation which showed that we prepaid 20% tip on top of the $3.99 delivery fee, the woman who I spoke to on the phone at Viet Aroma said it didn't matter and that if they can't see the tip on their end, they will automatically cancel any order. She said I could reorder, but again, would cancel if she couldn't see tip and that I would have to contact Grubhub to make sure Viet Aroma could see my tip amount. The food here is good, but tip is and should always optional. On top of it all, the tip doesn't even go to the restaurant. We've ordered from this restaurant many times, but they've now lost a customer. read more

Viet Aroma is in a plaza with a few other restaurants and businesses, but is clearly the star. The staff are so friendly and even remembered us from our visit almost six months ago (and even remembered what we ordered)! The broth is the most flavorful I've had anywhere in Virginia. We had the meatball pho and the pho ga - both just delicious. The accoutrements were great as well though I don't use much. We also had the grilled pork summer rolls.
