I stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon and was surprised that there was nobody inside. I ordered the pho dac biet($16) and a viet ice coffee($5) and it came out quite quickly in about 7 minutes. The food was unfortunately a huge letdown. There was a lot of noodles which is normally good but not much soup. The pho broth was very bland. Not much taste to it all. Meat was decent. Coffee was good. Staff and service were reasonable. Overall quite disappointed with the food here, I was expecting to some decent pho based off the reviews hopefully it's a one off but based on the area I'd check something else out. Have been coming here for years - our go-to pho comfort food restaurant. Most recently, came on a Friday for dinner and loved the tofu garden rolls, papaya salad, chicken pho, young coconut juice, and Vietnamese coffee - delicious way to start the weekend! read more

Food tasted good. The Garden Roll was just shrimp, pork, noodles, and lettuce 7/10. The Pho Old Town was a 8/10 unless we found a fly in the bowl...lost my appetite after that. Thai tea was a 8/10. The lunch combo $13.95 is a steal for an entree, side of cha gio or goi cuon, and drink!! Plus they give free shrimp chips to munch on while you wait!! I loved how quiet and peaceful this restaurant felt, the service was great. The rice tasted a lot better once I put the soy sauce on it and I felt like it was so much rice I ended up taking some home which is always a plus for me! We ordered the combo vermicelli and the Vietnamese crepe with chicken (you can also choose tofu). Both were full of flavor! The vermicelli combo is great - you get to try a bit of everything, like spring rolls and your choice of grilled beef/chicken/pork. I have been looking for Vietnamese crepes, which I don't find in many Vietnamese restaurants in this area. They load it up with bean sprouts for that nice crunch. We ordered an eye round steak pho, vegetarian pho, vegetarian spring rolls, and thai iced tea. The spring rolls were good, but the pho was disappointing. The beef pho did not have a lot of flavor, and the steak itself had a peculiar smell... The vegetarian pho's broth had very little flavor, although the vegetables tasted fresh. While waiting, we were served complimentary Shrimp Chips which was amazing! I had a Vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk (Cà Phê Sữa Đá) to start for $4.50. It's a good pick me up if you need a bit of a caffeine boost. For my entree, I had the large Pho Old Town (Phở Đặc Biệt) which came with your standard fare of eye round, brisket, and meatballs for $12.95. It also came with a side dish of spearmint, mung bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, lime, sriracha, and hoisin sauce to add to taste. Overall, the service is good here, the food was fair for the price, and the ambiance was a bit dim. My family and I came on a whim, and ordered their lunch menu - old town pho, grilled beef vermicelli, and banh mi. The prices for lunch menu are extremely reasonable. Food portions are very small, which makes up for the price. And the food is generally so-so. Nothing outstanding about the pho broth, and in general, all the other dishes were not impressive. Hands down the best spicy hue soup in all of northern VA! Excellent chicken and meatball pho too. I love starting the experience with complimentary shrimp chips and chili oil. I visited East Wind one rainy Sunday evening - for a bowl of Pho Ga. I was promptly seated, ordered immediately, and my bowl came out in a few minutes. The broth was tasty, the accoutrements were fresh (Basil, lime, bean sprouts, jalapeños). I added everything and slurped that bowl down in no time flat - adding of course - squirts of Sriracha sauce to bites as I went, and a healthy dose to the Pho Ga broth. Menu's pretty legit and has some Viet-heavy dishes like mi xao don and bun bo hue, but maybe offset by having staff who weren't Vietnamese? And while food's overall pretty good, there's little things that make it feel less authentic Vietnamese food - such as a hoisin-heavy dipping sauce for goi cuon or a pretty salty sauce for mi xao don. Other than that it was a solid eats experience. The free shrimp chips for dinner were nice and the staff were friendly. Must be paying for the good reviews. - The pho was probably the worst pho I've ever had. I'd rather have instant pho. It lacked in all departments of the typical pho spices, flavor, and umami. The meats were extremely dry including the brisket which I had to chew with water or it would have been too dry to swallow. They also use an off brand hoisin sauce which tasted very odd and the sriracha is not even an off brand one and is a watery sweet and sour sauce put into a red bottle. - Overpriced spring rolls. It came with three very small spring rolls that was over seasoned with pepper and overly salted (coming from someone who enjoys food on the salty side). $7 is a scam. - The best thing here is the free shrimp chips to start the meal. read more

Looking at the menu, the lunch specials look like a great deal. I ordered a pho to-go to try out for dinner. It is nicely packaged for you to reheat or just simply pour into a bowl and munch. Like others though, I don't think this place was particularly bad but also not particularly good or amazing. I think there are many other places nearby (~15!minutes) that are much better for pho. We ordered around 6:10 and there was only one other occupied table. By the time we got our order (or at least most of it) it was over an hour later, and in the interim three tables had come, eaten, and left. The last item to come was a Vietnamese chicken crepe appetizer, which for some reason took an hour to prepare. And it was not worth the wait. Seriously, folks, do not order this appetizer: it is a frittata filled with limp bean sprouts, mostly raw onions, and two wafer thin pieces of chicken. The rest of the meal was a mixed bag. The pho my son had was good, even if he was never given a spoon to eat it, but the beef with vermicelli that I had was cold, the beef was tough and tasted preserved, and the majority of the dish was bean sprouts. My husband had a vegetarian dish with enormous pieces of undercooked vegetables, while his mother had a seafood hot pot that she enjoyed even though she had large pieces of inedible squid. The quail appetizer was tasty, but the bubble tea my daughter ordered took an hour to come for no reason. Surprisingly, the place was well filled when we left and at least five people picked up take out orders. Considering the closest place to park was 2 blocks away, I imagine the take out orders were as cold as my beef vermicelli. read more
