    Braised Beef Noodle Soup
    Christina V.

This was definitely needed today on this cold day. 99 ranch is always a treat to stop by. We were really craving beef noodle soup and momo cafe satisfied the craving very well! Although I prefer thick noodles to thin, I was impressed with the thin noodles with the taste and texture. The beef was a little too chewy for me. My bf said his broth was salty, I thought my broth was perfectly salty and spicy from the chili oil.

This was the first time trying any of the 99 Ranch food court restaurants and I'm sad to say I'm not inclined to return. The order for this one bowl on a very slow Sunday morning, took 35 minutes to come out. The broth smelled like instant ramen, which is fine if it at least tasted half as good as ramen does, but instead tasted like watered down szechuan sauce. There was too much cabbage and not enough other toppings, all which were extremely undercooked and crunchy. We counted 4 pieces of beef, which is insane especially since this was a beef noodle dish. Overall, I think this place is a "do not return".

We tried their spicy beef noodle soup. The noodle texture was surprisingly decent -- nice chew and did a great job soaking up the broth. Even though it's labeled as "spicy," I barely got any heat from it. The beef itself was soft and pretty decent quality, but the broth leaned a little too sweet for my taste, likely from the chunks of radish and carrot. I was hoping for something a bit beefier or more savory. Portion size felt small for the price too 2.5/5

    Taiwanese Fried Chicken Bento

Decided to try one of the food stalls in the 99 Ranch grocery store today (Saturday). They don't officially open until 11:30 am for lunch. You get a 5% discount if you pay cash. Bring cash. Also, get a drink at the drink aisle at 99 Ranch to save money. $0.99 Arizona Ice Tea Half Half Arnold Palmer. Ordered Taiwanese Fried chicken bento box & Taiwanese Spicy Beef Noodle soup. Took about 15 minutes as they make it to order. The bento box comes with rice, veggies (corn, cabbage, broccoli, pickled mustard greens), tofu cake, a small slice of taiwanese sausage and half a tea egg. The fried chicken came in a separate box. Everything was really good. The chicken was hot, crispy and flavorful with spices but dry. They chopped up to breasts into bite sized pieces. Rice was cooked perfectly. Cabbage was delicious. Corn was average. Tofu cake wasn't great. Sausage, egg & pickled greens tasted homemade. 9/10 The beef noodle soup would have been better if in a real ceramic bowl with everything mixed in. Instead, broth was separated from noodles and toppings. Not optimal taste and flavor. However, it was still good as a dish. Flavorful slightly spicy broth with tender slices of beef, chunks of carrott and radish (?) and some baby bok choy. Noodles were fair. Maybe a little overcooked. Needed more chewy and bite. 8.5/10 Overall, the food was very good and some parts remind me of homecooking. Looking forward to trying more from here and other stalls.

Love this place! The food is very authentic! The stinky tofu reminds me of the 黑色经典 I had when traveling in Hunan! The bento box is a good deal for the price and very tasty, braised pork is juicy and flavorful. We have been coming back here couple times and no disappointment! Highly recommend.

So glad 99 Ranch's food court is generating more business with their new delicious vendors! I'm always on the lookout for Taiwanese food so I'm glad that this place opened up and is closer to us! We decided to try the bento boxes with black pepper chicken and fried pork chop. All of the bento boxes comes with an assortment of side dishes, such as a tea egg and various stir fried veggies. I thought some of the sides were a bit on the saltier side, but that's okay since the box came with rice to even it out. There's an ample amount of protein for each of the bento boxes and it was enough to have a bite of protein for each spoonful of rice! They were running a promo where if you buy an entree, you get a free order of popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was delicious and had a bit of a heat to it which we really liked! Service was good, ordering was quick; however, keep in mind that it might take them a bit longer to make the food so if you're in a rush, order your food first, shop around, and then come back to get your order. Other than that, I'd recommend checking this place out and trying their bento boxes and popcorn chicken!

This is a Taiwanese cuisine restaurant inside the 99 Ranch Asian market. They offer authentic Taiwanese street food and fast food combos. I ordered the popcorn chicken, the black pepper chicken bento, and the spicy crawfish bento. The popcorn chicken was average as expected. The black pepper chicken was really good! The black pepper sauce was spicy, but flavorful. It was nothing similar to the black pepper gravy or sauce in any Western cuisine. I stronger recommend you try it, but it is spicy. The crawfish bento was good, and my wife likes it. The lady at the reception was really nice and she was also responsible of making drinks. Since it is inside the food court inside the Asian market, you pretty much need to find a table on your own. The environment is fine. I took one star off because of the portion. It was pretty small for me.

To be honest I came here looking for the other Taiwanese restaurant that had previously took this spot, but I was okay with trying something new. I had a craving for Basil popcorn chicken and was able to get it from here. Unfortunately the prices are a bit high, normalized a bit by buy one, by second 50% off deals but generally speaking the prices were high for the small servings you get. This place is inside the 99 ranch in the food court area and you can order on the kiosk or with a friendly face at the front. While ordering was quick, the food wasn't and it was a little frustrating to have to wait so long for such small portions.

Almost as good as the DC location! I'm happy to see more things opening up at the 99 Ranch food court. Solid Taiwanese food. The black milk tea was perfectly creamy and sweetened. I wished they had the Momo's Potted Plant Milk Tea since it was topped crushed oreos. We got the Braised Pork Bento. The bento box was a great deal since it came with a lot of things like cabbage, corn, egg, tofu, etc. I enjoyed the flavor of the braised pork! Wish they gave more meat in the bento.

Milk tea & Fried Pork Chop Bento

The fried pork chop had good flavor, but I didn't care too much for the sides which were ok. The milk tea was pretty sweet and has a decent tea flavor, but I would prefer it to have a stronger tea taste.

The roll was reminiscent of a Philly sub roll, which - now this may be polarizing - is the standard by which I judge all sub rolls. Philadelphia just has the best subs ;) Anyway - they use good deli meats here. I don't think they make their own fries, but they were nice and crispy with a bit of seasoning on them and went well with our sandwiches. My husband had the cheesesteak and said it was just meh - definitely steak-ums - but we are from the self-proclaimed cheesesteak capital of the world :) Don't pass up the dessert case though - I am not a sweets person, but they had this triple cheese thing that was like a cheese danish, but with a million times more cheese and just a little bit of pastry, we... uhhh... devoured it... It paired really nice with their house chocolate gelato, which was the definition of rich, decadent chocolate. The lady at the register was kind enough to allow us to try a side-by-side of the house and the machine gelato... word of advice... skip the machine, go with the house gelato - the flavor (and the serving size) knocks that name-brand, machine mumbo jumbo out of the park :) Honestly, just a great sandwich joint with a little store selling specialty items, many of which are from Italy (I will be back for some squid ink pasta the next time I am cooking for friends!). They have the fancier drinks and not your typical soda options so keep this in mind. My roasted turkey sandwich was $14.95 to start, and toppings like pepper relish cost extra (I feel like a spread should not be half a dollar but sure). Meat quality was good and bread felt fresh but just a little hard to chew. For basically 16$, there was only two thin slices of provolone. Compared to some of the photos I saw, the sandwich was a bit lacking on the toppings of meat/cheese. People super friendly and service was quick. They had tons of desserts, pasta salad, and a few actual pasta dishes on the menu too. I'll have to come in to give them a try for a cheesesteak or the caesar salad wrap next.
