Combo beer special
Dickson L.

Interesting pho spot in a little plaza near the Walmart in Fairfax. We came as a party of 2 on a Saturday evening and was able to easily find a spot. You self-order from the kiosk tablet and they came out pretty quick with the food We ordered the pho, a banh mi, and some rice plate with beef and vegetables. I've had a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and this one was a bit peculiar - lots of hints of lemongrass in the pho, it wasn't bad but not really what I was expecting. The banh mi was delicious, excellent toasted bread and meat was a little tough but hearty nonetheless. The rice combo dish also had strange hints of lemongrass and otherwise not super viet, but almost Thai-like infusion. I'm not Vietnamese but I don't know how kosher that is in viet cuisine. Might jive with some folks but wasn't really a hit with us. tldr; funky viet spot with elements of thai fusion. Hit or miss depending your palate

Build Your Own Phở

Came here to try the runner up of NOVA pho wars 2025. Might say I preferred this broth to Pho Cylco bc this was lighter and fragrant rather than bold. Fair amount of meat and I also liked the noodle texture here too (chewier). The grilled pork rolls were unique since I mostly see summer rolls on most menus. Thought it would be a braised/boiled pork but it's more of a sausage. But would order again!

Good quick bite. Summer roll and joy roll. Order both so you can taste the fragrant yummy herby summer roll and then try the joy roll its crispy little bites will kind of make your moment. Service was good, staff were nice and food came out quickly, all that accomplished while they have a sign for kitchen and wait staff on the door. I don't usually go in when I see that but I had read all the rave reviews about the joy roll. Imagine what they could do if they were fully staffed. Minimal ambience but clean tables and quick service.

this place is probably my favorite pho place in the dmv. their pork is my favorite, the joy rolls and the banh mi, it's so good. i liked their grilled chicken pho, it's my go to. i've also tried the eye round which was pretty solid too. the service is fairly quick, and it's a good atmosphere to go with friends and family

We had three Bun Bo hue all of them were bland, no flavor. We added chili to give it some type of seasoning. The server actually forgot all of our beverages. I had to ask them where it was after our entrees came. He still forgot my iced coffee lol. He gave us hot tea with leaves floating , we had to request a new pot. I had to remind him of every single item I ordered Togo. Then he forgot our Togo drinks so I had to remind him I ordered beverages Togo too. Lol He never checked up on us. I ordered a passionfruit juice Togo too- it was literally passionfruit puree with 90% water. He didn't even care to shake it. Don't even waste your time. The service was a whole joke. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Bun Bo Hue beef noodles soup and beef pho soups were delicious highly recommended. The Vietnamese coffee and the Thai milk tea were good. Service is top notched, especially Nhan was very nice and courteous. Ambiance- nice, spacious, and clean restaurant. Definitely we will come back to this restaurant again.

Thai Iced Tea, Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Bánh Mì
Steffany L.

Placed an order at Pho Bytes for lunch and tried their Thai Iced Tea and Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Bánh Mì. The Thai Iced Tea was solid--sweet, creamy, and hit the spot. The Bánh Mì, however, was just okay. The chicken was flavorful, but the overall balance was off--the bo (sauce) was too sweet and lacked any spicy kick, which I was hoping for. That said, it's not a bad spot for a quick and casual meal. The atmosphere is decent, and the menu has enough variety to explore. I'd give it another shot, but I'd probably try a different dish next time.

Eye Round Steak Pho + Grilled Chicken Pho

We were craving pho and we wanted to try the spot near ShareTea! We started with the Grilled Shrimp Summer Rolls. I did not expect them to cut them into a smaller portion, but it does make it easier for sharing. We also got the Eye Round Steak Pho and the Grilled Chicken Pho. I prefer the meat to be slightly on the rare side for pho, so it did not stand out to me when it was served fully cooked in the broth. The interior is spacious with window and table seating. They have a self ordering kiosk as well as a worker at the counter that can take orders before being seated. Overall, the service was prompt and decent.

Grilled Pork soooo good

What a great place! The food is incredible! Fresh and super tasty, even though it's self order the staff is awesome! Top Vietnamese place in this area hands-down, clean and cost on the inside as well. Definitely coming back and one of my new staples

Clean, quiet restaurant. Kiosk ordering only.
Rachel M.

Kiosk ordering system meant little interaction with the servers, and this suited us fine. My typical dining out experiences involve constant interruptions and questions and taking plates before they're finished. You won't have to worry about that at Pho Bytes. The vermicelli bowl gives my favorite Vietnamese restaurant a run for its money. I did not like the egg roll's interior, but the exterior was perfectly crunchy and not at all greasy. Super generous serving of pork and fish sauce. All the expected vegetables. Perfect dinner on a hot, humid summer night. The shrimp summer roll was a fresh starter, ideal for sharing. Loved the peanut sauce. Look forward to trying their pho next visit!

Fresh and light! The broth was herby and all ingredients tasted fresh. We thought everything had great flavor. We really enjoyed the grilled pork summer rolls as an appetizer. The restaurant is unique because you order at a kiosk but the service is still very attentive and quick when dining in.

Sample prices of the men

This cold day of January I decided to visit Phot Bytes. This was my first revisit after few years and moving out of the area. Seeing the many renovations since when it was called "Pho Today" I thought (and hoped) the food quality has improved as well. To my disappointment, the only thing growing was their prices and their greed. I have been choosing Pho over any other food for past 18 years and this place truly got it wrong. Let's address the issues one at a time. The size large was the small at Pho 75. The price was 130% more than any other place ($16 for one size). The word build your own has no meaning since you are still forced to take their choices. The only option a customer has is removing items. Adding anything to their preset items is at lease $5 (tendon was $5.90). The food came out looking ok, the amount of protein was decent and although it wasn't the best cut of meat it at least a good amount in the bowl. The soup was very sweet. Please believe me that it was as sweet as a pastry, even though I added lemon and tons of sriracha sauce. As I mentioned the dining area was clean and renovated and the music and the levels of it were great.

Pretty expensive for the size of their bowl, compared to other pho restaurants this place is more expensive.

What is the difference between vegetarian pho and no meat pho?

What is ginger-based Pho? Is ginger prominent in the taste of the broth? The broth should be balanced without one spice overwhelming others that include ginger, green and black cardamom, cloves, anise, coriander seeds, peppercorn, cinnamon, garlic
