Pho Duong disappointed us for the third time, twice within two months of our take out of bun bo hue. The first was missing meat, how can you explain of not packing the key item? And today, the meat was bad, it looked old and smelled rotten. Over the years, I've had the Bánh Mi sandwich, chicken pho soup, the vermicelli noodles, rice and meat dishes, and spring rolls. Service is always consistent. I have been to other locations and this is good just not as good as Centreville. I got a large pho with brisket and rare steak. The rare steak was not good but the brisket was. I liked how the place had a large space for seating so it was really easy to get a table. I would still say a solid place for pho. read more

If you want an ok meal at a fair price, this is the spot for you. I got the 18a (house special) pho. The broth isn't too rich but it still holds the color and flavors needed. The broth isn't hot enough to disperse the meat and noodles, but it is at a temp to start digging in immediately. The noodles were bunched and they felt softer, everytime I tried to grab some noodles I would end up cutting through them with my chopsticks. Be prepared to wait outside if you come during peak hours usually between 6-7 pm. The service is quick and the atmosphere is a busy hectic one, so this is not the quiet coffee shop vibe. A family favorite! One of the servers is a Swiftie so my girls love the playlist. This is a no frills restaurant but it is clean, comfortable, and spacious. I often see big families feasting over steaming bowls of soup here. Pho Duong is known for their pho but I love how they have other Vietnamese specialities on the menu as well. Their shaky beef is delicious (it comes with french fries which is a treat upon a treat) and their banh xeo is humongous and crispy. I've never had a bad meal here and the prices are Y2K era which I love. It's proximity to Trader Joe's means your post pho walks are absolute fire. At risk of sounding old...I have to say this is my perfect way to spend a weekend night. read more

Very nice restaurant. It's always time for Pho. Definitely get the beef with vegetables, as it's delicious on a cold day especially. There are many items on the menu to choose from. If you want a casual restaurant, with nice ambiance and good prices, this could work for you. Employees are wonderful. I would like to thank them for exceptional service. I've been looking for a place in fairfax that has Banh Canh and I found it! I've always wanted to try Banh Canh and it was gooood. I dragged my family here since our usually spot was filled due to the Asian Fest and we all tried something new and loved it! Banh Canh Do Bien 5/5 Thick rice noodle soup with seafood. The soup base was realllly good and i would definitely try this instead of the traditional Pho Com Tam Dac Biet 4.5/5 Gilled Pork Chop, Shredded Pork, Egg. Egg Quiche and Bean Curd Skin on Steamed Broken Rice. If you want some rice i'd definitely suggest this. Bánh Höi Thit Nuöng 5/5 Grilled Pork with Thin Rice Vermicelli. If you want a different version of vermicelli highly suggest this. The pho here is delicious! The portions are great, I always order the large and usually have some leftover to take home. The prices are reasonable for the quality and amount. Service is always fast and efficient. I sit down, order my usual, get my drink and am always helped when I need something. The restaurant itself is long and has plenty of seating whether you're coming by yourself or with a big party. They clean tables almost immediately after customers leave. Another good Vietnamese spot in Fairfax. I went with my usual go to when trying out a new Vietnamese restaurant, pho, cha gio, and banh xeo. The pho and the banh xeo were both very good. The pho broth was very good and the small portion was still quite a lot of food. The banh xeo was very crispy and had a lot of meat inside, but there were a few too many bean sprouts. The cha gio were good but I think a little overcooked to the point where the outside was a little burned. Still a really good restaurant and I'd go back again. read more

Pho Duong is not my number 1 go to spot, but I would say it's ikn my top 5 in the area. It feels like Pho Duong has not been around for long, but theyre coming up on their 10 year anniversary soon! This location has been open since 2015 and some people would agree to say that their flavor has not changed since opening. [Food: 4 of 5] --Pho Dac Biet: Most of the time, the soup is delicious, no extra fish sauce needed, and I don't have to drown it in hoisin sauce. However, there are a couple of times where the broth tastes bland and I need to top it off with a lot of seasoning and lime juice. --Com Tam Dac Biet: Not the best com tam that I've had but its not bad either. --Banh Xeo: Okay, you might think why would you get Banh Xeo at a Pho shop but..this dish was actually really good. My brother got a banh xeo for himself but we all ended up sharing his pancake because was cripsy and delicious. The only thing I personally dont like, is that there are way too many bean sprouts, yuck! (But of course you can request the dish without it). --Bun Bo Hue: this is one of their most popular dishes so I was pretty disappointed when I had tasted it. I'm not sure if the chef was having an off day, but the bun bo hue was lacking in flavor. It didn't have that strong depth of lemongrass and bo hue flavor. It just tasted like flavored broth, but not ..bun bo hue broth. Bun Bo Hue broth is spicier, with a strong depth flavor. It's hard to explain, but coming from a Vietnamese household..the flavor was not where it needed to be. [Service: 3.8 of 5] The older gentleman (I believe he is the manager or owner) - is very sweet and funny. He provides the best service, in my opinion. The time that we recently went, the younger male server did not provide the greatest of service. The first 2 dishes came out, and there were no silverware to be found; we flagged him down and asked for some....but he did not return with any. Then the next few dishes came out, we asked once more but still no silverware. We finally got hold of another employee who was able to give us some. The restaurant only had 2 other tables but it was difficult to flag the employee down for additional items, such as napkins, extra bowls and water refills. [Ambiance] It's a small to medium size restaurant, located in the heart of Fairfax center, right next to Chuck E. Cheese and Trader Joe's - this restaurant is usually not too busy so you don't have to wait for a table. I would definitely recommend trying this place if you haven't before. This is our new go-to Vietnamese restaurant. We've been trying different restaurants out but none had us coming back till we hit Pho Duong. They have veggie pho which is filling and delicious and we've also tried their soft and fried veggie noodles. The sauce on the fried veggie hoodies has a hint more ginger, which I like, but seriously I love them both so it doesn't matter which we order. We found them maybe a month ago and have eaten in and taken out 4 or 5 times so far and it's been consistently good. The best part is family that runs the restaurant is always so grateful you chose their place. We would go there without this added bonus but we do prefer to spend our money in locations where the owners are happy to see you. We're happy to see them too! read more
