Pretty decent pho! This is my parent's favorite place to get pho. Personally I have a different place I like to get my pho from, but this one is pretty good too! What I loved was the portion size!! I was able to have some pho for dinner and some leftovers for lunch the next day. When you order to-go you can only order the large size pho, but that's ok by me! I ordered chicken pho and the chicken was nice and tender. The onions, cilantro, bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapeños all seemed fresh. The only thing is it seems like the broth has some kind of oil to it. It did give it a bit of flavor! Don't get me wrong it was still good, it is just not what I'm used to. We also got the crispy spring rolls appetizer and that was good too. The appetizer comes with two rolls. It also came with a dipping sauce and I liked that as well. The rolls are on the smaller side so if you're sharing make sure everyone gets at least one roll! If you split a roll in half it would be too small. We were considering just getting 1 order for 4 people, but we ended up getting 2 orders of crispy spring rolls so each person had one! Overall, I'd come here again if I'm in the area! read more

They have an excellent lunch special. Large portion, savory broth and very clean! I usually go for lunch lm not too hungry when I go into the Trader Joe's next-door. Between the great lunch special price and not hungry buying food at the store. It saves me a lot of money! You are always greeted immediately, told to take any seat, and no matter what you order it's always out faster than you think! Great cute little restaurant. Only negative experience I've ever had is when they were randomly closed a few times this summer. It wasn't indicated anywhere except the sign on the door and when you called you didn't get a voicemail. It's been a while since I have had truly excellent pho. It's one of those dishes that is hard to mess up and make bad, yet truly exceptional ones are few and far between. Maybe I was just paying more attention this time, but Pho Duong has some quality broth. It has a cinnamon-like essence that I think comes from the star anise used to cook it. Whatever it is, it adds a really nice flavor, making its depth greater than many other dishes. I typically pour in the hoisin sauce and Sriracha, but this time I hesitated. The broth itself was so good on its own! I ordered 18a, the combination with all the fixings, and it was everything I could have hoped for and more. On the cold winter day we went, it truly hit the spot. A small was good for me, leaving me full but not rolling out the door. We dined in during COVID and they were taking adequate precautions. We were seated far from other customers, our waiter took our order at a distance, everyone wore masks, and their was hand sanitizer at the table. I felt safe to happily enjoy my meal. I love this place. I have 3 fav pho spots: Pho Duong, Huong Viet, and Loving Hut. They're all equally my favorite! Pho Duong has quick service. It's a good place to order soup and they'll pretty much leave you alone to take your time to enjoy your hot, hot soup. This is a good place to dine alone if you're looking for Me Time cause you can sit and stay. I usually get the veggies in beef broth and it's always comforting! The bread was the ideal texture and the flavor of the toppings were on point. The pho is standard and what you would expect from a good Vietnamese restaurant. The temperature just dropped so I knew I was in the mood for pho! My first visit here and safe to say this place ranks #1 on my self guided Fairfax city "pho tour", and #2 for my favourite Northern Virginia pho spots. Soup flavor is magnificent, comparable to Falls Church's Pho 75. Noodles were a bit al dente when the dish first came out but continues to cook in the soup as you eat. Meat proportion were decent but skewed to flank or brisket over tripe or tendon. Sadly, only got two pieces of tendon and one piece of tripe in my whole bowl. More soup in the bowl than stuff but inflation right? Served piping hot and the flavour is good though so we'll be back! read more

We must have come on an off Friday lunch. My seafood Hu Tieu and spring rolls came out promptly. My husband's pho with no cilantro(food allergy) did not arrive until 15min later WITH cilantro. I mentioned to the server about the tardiness and allergy mistake and was brushed off... My husband did his best to fish out 2 heapy tablespoons of cilantro and ate the pho. I usually only have the opportunity to eat mi quang when I visit California so I was ecstatic to find out that they serve it here. They have some "secret menu" items that are plastered across the walls of the restaurant and mi quang was one of those dishes (I'm not sure if they do the same at the other locations). The broth was flavorful and light with hints of turmeric and fresh herbs. I was given A LOT of meat and I liked how I was given the sesame crackers separately so they weren't sitting in the broth waiting to be soggy. My dad also got the bun mang vit (not pictured) and praised the dish as well. We went to this place on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Business was slow. We ordered #9 and #79. We came across this restaurant on social media and decided to give it a try. Wish I didn't though. Hygiene: Poor. The floor was covered with grease. I could slip a little with every step. I doubt if the management used wrong detergent in mopping since There's no way this could be their daily condition. This would never pass a health check. The restroom was a mess too unfortunately. Moreover, the water cups were not properly cleaned neither with weird greasy smell on the cup edge. Taste: While I still managed to give their food a try with their subpar hygiene standards, I could not believe that the food could be cooked and served with sooooo much salt. I've been to so many vietnamese restaurants, good and bad, their #79 was the worst and most salty one. 5 minutes after I sent it back, the dish came back and seemed to be boiled to dilute the salt. The meat was chewy. I barely ate it and left the diner with full disappointment. I read many other reviews but just could not agree at all. This place is a gem! I grow up in Hanoi. I judge a Vietnamese place based on their other noodle soup (not Phở). We love 'Bún bò Huế, the beef spicy noodle', bún riêu is great, coffee is nice. Would love to try other dishes so we definitely will come back. For those order take-out, go for dry dishes! Phở = boiling soup. A luke warm soup by the time you receive the order does not do justice to phở... or any Vietnamese noodle soup. read more

Alas, a solid pho establishment to rival the best in Northern Virginia. They've got everything you could ask for, and more. Pho? Rice bowls? Done and done. Vietnamese Iced Coffee? Check. And a lot more entrees that you've probably never heard of or would venture to try. Being that "Pho" is in the name, of course you must base your initial review primarily on the pho. There are three things I generally pay attention to, with the fourth being a bonus: 1) Broth: Broth is Queen (or King, inclusivity, ya' know). If you don't have the right broth, the bowl of noodles quickly becomes anything other than pho. On this mark, the broth did well - full of flavor, depth, and a slight cinnamon spice undertone. 2) Noodles: I don't like it when all the noodles clump together and you end up picking up a ball of noodles with each bite. Are we eating individual strings of noodles or is it going to be a noodle-ball? Please. Here I was a little disappointed as the noodles tended to be stuck together as if they had been sitting in the back for a while, but also because the noodles were a tad thicker than I typically like for pho. It just makes for a very, very filling bowl. 3) Meat: I do love my fatty brisket, and Pho Duong delivers. Some places just have "brisket," but real pho places that stand above the rest have "fatty brisket" and "brisket." Just make sure to do that extra push-up or pull-up to make up for the extra calories from the "fatty" portion. 4) Bonus Sate: It's a great delight when I come to a pho restaurant to find that they have the sate sauce. It's that slightly charred spicy chili sauce. A nice smokey singed flavor with a twinkle of sweetness. This sate sauce was slightly sweeter than some of the others, but was still a backseat to the savory smokey oiled chili flakes that make your taste buds want to jump for joy. Oh, and self-serve sate sauce on your table? Perfect; no longer do I need to keep asking for more sate sauce from the waiter. One last thing I'll touch on is the Vietnamese Coffee. Some places I suspect do Vietnamese Coffee in large batches and just fill up glasses throughout the day from this large batch. This is not the proper way a restaurant should be serving you this drink as it does no justice to the coffee nor the patron. Others, like Pho Duong, use a proper French Press to make the coffee (takes 5-10 minutes), which they bring to you and you ultimately press down at your leisure. The experience of pressing down is key to a 5-star experience. You know you're getting the real deal. Big props to Pho Duong for this, as we will know it's not some deeply preserved instant-coffee packets being used in the back from god knows how long ago. TL;DR: Pretty much a five-star establishment, although I had to round from 4.5 to 5. I would have knocked half a star for the noodles that were a bit too thick for my liking, and a bit too stuck-together. Nonetheless, the breadth and depth of the menu, along with the proper brewing of Vietnamese Iced Coffee seals the deal. Pho Duong should be at the top of your list anytime you're within a 10 mile radius of it. read more

When you walk in you notice the clean floors and tables, but then you smell the musty tables from their cleaning cloths. Smell aside, we decided to sit down with the kiddos after a trip to Chuck E. Cheese. My husband had the pho #8 (a huge bowl of noodles); my kids had the broken rice with shredded pork (mostly pork skin which the kiddos were not fond of), grilled pork (delicious) and egg quiche; and I had the bun rieu (tomato crab noodle soup was super tasty)! All dishes averaging around $10 wasnt too shabby. The food was tasty. Service is typical of any asian restaurant; they bring you your food and then you walk up to pay. Will I eat here again? One of the better Pho restaurants in the Northern Virginia area! I would say this is just below the original Pho restaurant, Pho 75 in Falls Church, in terms of quality. The bowls of Pho are large and full of noodles and meat compared to a lot of the other Pho restaurants around here. The broth is flavorful and as authentic as they come. The food comes to your table fairly fast as well. The other dish I've tried is the Bac Beet which is a delicious combination of rice, pork, vegetables, and fish sauce. I ordered pho ga, rolls, and iced coffee delivery from them and I was actually shocked at how bad it was. The broth lacked flavor and the chicken was disgusting. The rolls were ok, but rather small. The vietnamese iced coffee was watered down. It seems like they have a good reputation for their dine in food, so I'll probably give them another chance in the future. This is my go-to spot for Pho in the Fairfax area. At a very fair price point, the food has never disappointed. I used to only order their Pho but have lately been addicted to their vermicelli bowls. For whatever type of dishes you choose, you can expect it to be light yet still flavorful. As for the appetizer, I strongly recommend their chicken wings. I had never expected to order wings at a Pho place, but you might consider ditching Buffalo Wild Wings after you try these. For $8-9, the portion is huge. Instead of your classic wings with ranch and celery sticks, their wings are cooked/served with green peppers and onions; super flavorful and juicy! One serious suggestion I would like to make is that the waiters should really consider noting down the orders and maybe repeating it again at the end. There has been 2 or 3 times where our waiters messed up the order by trusting their memories a little too much. The other 4 got what they ordered. When I didn't get what I ordered, I was like, it's okay, but the waiter just took it back as if he didn't hear me. I ordered the shrimp with vermicelli, not the combo shrimp and pork. I guess they make it confusing on their end as well because 48 has 48, 48a, 48b, 48c. I ended up getting what I ordered a few minutes later. The food was pretty good. Good portion. I like how they do pay at front and the payment method is quick since it has a tip calculator on the device. The servers weren't as attentive to our table as much due to it being busy. Super super solid pho. After driving 4.5 hours to Virginia this was such a great way to end my long journey. Came in last week with a friend and got a Thai iced tea as well as pho. The tea was delicious and fresh, and the ratio of tea to condensed milk was great. The pho was also excellent! The portion size was great for the value, and there was a good amount of both noodles and meat. The broth was delicious and rich, and the quality of meat was also just as good. We arrived around 1 and the restaurant wasn't packed at all. There were only 3 tables taken. As we sat and ate our food the restaurant started filling up and when I left more than 3/4 of the tables were filled which is a sign of a great restaurant. We ordered the com tam dac biet, mi xao gion, and mi quang. I've had the first two at plenty of viet restaurants but have never had mi quang before so I decided to give it a try. The com tam was great. At first it doesn't look like too much but the portions of rice and protein were large! I prefer my nuoc mam a bit more salty and tangy but this nuoc mam did its job. The mi xao gion portion was HUGE. It was enough to fill 2 people and once again the protein and veggie portion were well balanced with the noodle portion. Lastly we had the mi quang. Again, I've never had it before but the best way I can describe the flavor of the broth is that it's like bo kho. Slightly spicy but very rich! The bowl was huge and the meat portion was once again generous! It also came with a bunch of herbs and toppings on a separate plate. I went to Pho Duong the day before Thanksgiving around noon (alone) as I was craving Pho. There are several places closer to my house, but this one was pretty delicious and is definitely a bare-bones operation. I walked in and the place was nearly full - there wasn't a host waiting at the door but walking through the restaurant who waved me over to a table for one. I knew what I wanted so it was pretty easy to order - one regular chicken pho. They also do a lunch special which is a pretty good deal, but I didn't feel like a spring or summer roll - I just wanted pho, and this bowl hit the spot. The pho itself: a good portion size. The chicken, like many others, wasn't bad - a touch on the dry side, but they use all white meat and if let the chicken sit in the broth for a bit, it will loosen up. Lots of fresh basil, jalapenos, and bean sprouts. I liked that along with the sriacha, hoisin, red pepper sauce - all the usual expected fixings - pho Duong featured this sesame oil. I tried a few spoons of that and found it really added depth to the flavor of the broth. I admit, I sat for a bit after my meal was done waiting for my check, until I realized you actually go up and pay at the counter! I'd definitely return. read more

We've been ordering to-go tamarind soup from here for quite some time, which is pretty good. We decided to dine in for the first time and ordered a couple items we haven't tried before. The bun bo hue tastes like pho broth with sate sauce added. The more terrible dish was the shaky beef (bo luc lac). It was appalling the dish came out with decor lettuce lining half the plate, a quarter taken by rice, and only a quarter of the actual beef dish. On top of all that, the beef was mixed in with french fries! Neither the menu photo nor descriptor reflected any french fries in the dish. Unheard of for french fries to be in shaky beef. When we asked the server about it, at first he just said yes and then ignored me. Then he came back and said they would replace it. The dish was taken back to the kitchen and brought out within minutes. They literally just picked out the fries - oil and all still in the dish. Needless to say, very disappointing. And the restaurant is NOT 6' covid distancing between tables. read more
