12. Com Tam Bi Suon Cha Trung

The owner of this place is the sweetest human on earth!! We asked about her pandan tea and she gave us a free pack just because... Anyways, food was great too! The flavoring of the pork for the broken rice dish was on point. Perfect blend of savory and sweet. The meatloaf wasn't too salty either which I liked! I wish the broken rice had more of the fragrant rice smell though but other than that, I really enjoyed this place for Com Tam. Bun Bo Hue was also very flavorful and heartwarming. Wish they had blood sausage though. Can't wait to come back to try their other dishes.

One of my favorite pork chopped and broken rice place in the DMV area. The owner is so sweet and kind and always provided such splendid service with a smile. We always get the combination broken rice because we just love everything and the portion was super generous for the price. The pork chop here is very soft and tender. The restaurant is a very small restaurant but always super busy but the food comes iut super quick. Would recommend this place 100% if you're ever in Eden Center and needing a broken rice place. Located near the entrance across from the little lamb hot pot!

Great spot that only specializes in rice dishes. Got a relative that swears by this spot and he did not lie. I usually never finish the pork chop in some places but this spot got demolished. Recommend if you have that feeling for a hole in the wall with an amazing delivery on taste. Service was as expected and the typical you would get at Eden. Whoever is a rice dish connoisseur I recommend stopping by!

Had an amazing experience at this mom and pop restaurant. The service and vibe was akin to being at your asian grabdmother's house. Their specialty here is their broken rice platters. I had never tried it before and it was absolutely delicious! The meats had a bit of sweetness which paired amazing with the umami of the fish sauce on our rice. The ban bo hue was also delicious it was full of flavor and the meats in the soup were delicious. Overall a fun experience my best recommendation is to come here with an open mind particularly if you are new to Vietnamese food.

bún bò huế

I've had my fair share of Vietnamese food growing up and this place is the real deal. The place is tucked away in one of the mini mall segments of Eden Center. The place is cozy and you can tell it's a mom and pop type of restaurant. The food is very authentic and you're guaranteed a flavorful dish no matter what you order! I got the bún bò huế (spicy noodle soup) and a cơm tấm bì sườn chả trứng (rice plate with shredded pork/grilled pork/egg). The meat was so flavorful in the bún and there was a nice kick to the broth. I usually order this dish and skip the broth but the one here was so good that I managed to clean the bowl. Meanwhile, the rice plate was PACKED and the meats paired nicely with the broken rice. Add some of their fish sauce to that and it was chef's kiss. There was so much shredded pork leftover that we ordered extra rice and took it home for basically an additional meal in itself. Paid $40 after tax and tip which I think is reasonable considering the portions were huge. Don't expect the service to be at your beck and call. You'll have to flag someone down from the back for help. However, that's typically how traditional Viet restaurants are and by the time they do come help you out, they're super friendly and give you mom vibes. Looking forward to coming back and trying their other dishes!

Com Tam Suon Cha (Grilled Pork and Meatloaf)

This place has been the go to restaurant for com tam for me for years - probably since I was a child and it never disappoints! I usually get it with the meatloaf and grilled pork, and it comes with broken rice, onions, carrot, lettuce, fish sauce, and spicy sauce but they give me extra sauce and meat sometimes too. Food is delicious, even though sometimes it can seem a little too dry for some people. It's spot on with how com tam is and the service is always quick and fast so I prefer getting com tam here than somewhere else where it may take longer. Price is good in my opinion as well for the portions - I always split my box into two meals. Very underrated place at Eden that deserves more attention. However, I've only got the com tam here so I don't know how their other dishes are like. You can pay with cash or card but I prefer cash since they'll manually have to put it in with card.

I always go here when I'm visiting the dmv area and craving com tam. It reminds me of the com tam I used to have in Vietnam. It's a small place but quick and friendly service. I can't wait to come back.

Com Tam Suon Bi Cha Trung special
Trinh P.

The com tam bi suon cha trung is what I usually get here and it is delicious! It is a dish with grill porkchop, pork/egg custard, pork skin with shredded pork bits, small salad consisting of tomato/cucumber/pickled carrots and a sunny side up egg served on top of broken rice and a side of sweet fish sauce. Highly recommend as this is their specialty and you can tell because of their stacks of "broken rice" rice bags piled up in the restaurant. Call them to see if what their hours are because it can be different from what is listed. They give you a large portion thats more than enough to keep your belly full snd happy!

The com tam here is so so good! The taste absolutely authentic. It was so underrated since the store was inside. Please come check it out. Their tra da (iced tea) is so good too!

The place is as you expect small in a dark alley and narrow. The food was authentic and good portion. There are other better restaurants who serve same food in the Eden center.

The #9
Stephanie N.

After spending a weekend at Eden Center trying different restaurants, this is for sure top 3! It literally only seats about 30 people, and is hidden away in a mini mall. They are known for their crushed rice, and I ordered the #9 which came out very very fast! I've had many rice dishes like this before, but this was by far the best and very authentic. It came with an egg, perfectly cooked pork, and pickled vegetables. With a side of their iced coffee, my parents and I all enjoyed our meals and can't wait to come back.

Favs and must try -- seafood cha gao is delicious with the combination of lettuce wrap, basil, mint. It's a perfect bite flavor wise. This has a lot of flavor and is cooked perfectly. Lobster garlic noodles-- no complaints here, it's delicious! Meh dishes-- chili wontons are nothing special, and the short rib paparadelle wasn't good IMO. Parking isn't the best but I usually find a spot in the garage and the restaurant has a discount code so don't pay for the parking until you get into the restaurant and use the discount code at the host stand. The restaurant is very pretty, good for date night or girls night too!

Hoang Viet Restaurant can be hard to spot, as it's inside one of the little indoor shopping complexes in the corner of the broader Eden Center complex, right across the street from Happy Lamb Hot Pot. However, if you are lucky enough to find this shop, prepare to be wowed with some of the best and most authentic Hue cooking in the DMV. This no-frills restaurant centers on Central / Northern Vietnam, with a particular focus on Bun Bo Hue, a super flavorful spicy beef and pork noodle soup with a rich, spicy broth and tons of mix-ins. I'm still dreaming about their bun rieu, a beautiful crab and shrimp noodle soup that comes with a generous helping of chewy rice noodles, tender and juicy shrimp, and a deeply flavorful, slightly spicy, and slightly sour and tangy broth made with tomatoes and crab. It comes topped with fresh scallions and green onions, as well as a few fried onions for a bit of crunch. The service is efficient and friendly, and the food comes out incredibly quickly. That was a big mistake because Truong Tien is inside and it is amazing! My son and I started with Banh Beo Nhan Kho Tom Chay, a dish of steamed rice cake topped with fried shallots, dried powdered shrimp (prawn floss) and chicharron which you then can top with a spicy sauce. They come in little tiny dishes that you can kind of slurp the rice cake from like an oyster. The combination of textures and temperatures and flavors was delicious - and not too filling as a starter. We wanted to have a Banh Khoai Nuoc Leo (crispy pancake taco-like dish with a dipping sauce) but they were out for the day (we were there at about 4pm) so instead we had vermicelli bowls (Bun Nem Nuong) with Asian style sausage and fried spring rolls. Topped with peanuts and fish sauce, it was fresh and delicious. The host greets you warmly and offers ice water, hot or iced tea (complimentary) and the restaurant decor is absolutely beautiful. There's also a gorgeous display of food for sale near the register, including fried bananas and donut/beignet sort of treats. (Couldn't resist splitting one of those and it was lovely- not heavy or greasy and lightly sweetened.

We cannot fully recall the names of the dishes but I took pictures of them. We had 2 vermicelli entrees and one had pork, and the other had dried seafood with shrimp. I also loved the spicy fermented tofu dipping sauce. All of the dishes can be dipped in any and all of the dipping sauces accompanied by the other dishes. The waitress also brought a small bowl of rice with lemongrass pork for my baby to eat (on the house). The waitress was awesome :) Before tip the total came out to be $52. The price is super worth it. The taste was absolutely amazing. 5/5

Our server seemed a bit impatient and abrupt when taking our order (we asked how many spring rolls come in each order, and added beef meatballs to one of our pho orders), but we were mainly there for the food. The space itself is roomy, casual and comfortable, with tables spaced and seated far enough apart to not feel crowded. We started with the pork and taro spring rolls, which came out hot, cut in half, and impressively crispy! (Just as a heads up so you don't get scolded like we did - the pork and taro spring rolls come with two per order, and the price for both is a great deal compared to most pho establishments!) For our mains, we ordered three pho bowls and one dry noodle dish. The pho arrived warm, and adding bean sprouts cooled it down further rather than cooking them through. The dry noodle dish, on the other hand, was excellent in flavor, though also not very hot - likely due to the fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber) mixed in. Overall, a solid, filling meal, even if the service and the temperature of the food could be improved. Likely will be back (again, for the food), and will be better prepared (with no questions) for the less-than-stellar service next time.

Why we keep coming back: The Pho Sate is absolutely exceptional - we've tried this dish at countless Vietnamese restaurants over the years, and honestly can't find it done this well anywhere else. After 10+ years, the quality has never wavered. The broth is rich and flavorful with that perfect balance of spice and depth, the beef is always tender, and the fresh lettuce, herbs, and crispy garlic add amazing texture. But the real star? Their legendary roasted chili sauce (see photo) - that golden-orange chili oil is what dreams are made of! Savory, spicy, aromatic, and absolutely addictive. We've been eating this sauce for over a decade and it never gets old. If you love bold, authentic flavors, this alone is worth the visit. Consistently friendly and attentive staff - over all these years, the service has remained excellent. They recognize regulars, are genuinely warm and welcoming, and clearly take pride in their food and customer relationships. Plenty of parking - a practical bonus that makes every visit hassle-free. Why this deserves 5 stars: When you return to the same restaurant for over a decade, it's because they're doing everything right. The consistency in food quality, the authentic flavors, the warm hospitality - all of it has kept us coming back year after year. This isn't just good food; it's a place that's become part of our dining routine. Bottom line: After 10+ years as customers, we can confidently say this is the real deal. The Pho Sate is unmatched, that roasted chili sauce is legendary, and the entire experience is consistently excellent. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out on some of the best Vietnamese food around! Must-try: Pho Sate with the roasted chili sauce - trust us, we've been ordering it for a decade!

In the last year, we usually order the Mi Nam Vang and Mi Bo Kho, and both are consistently excellent. This past weekend, we finally decided to eat at the restaurant in person at Eden Center, and it was just as good as when we order delivery. The guy seating people was very polite and friendly, and our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Bun Mam and Mi Nam Vang, and both were amazing. Everything tasted fresh and came out super hot, which I love. There are plenty of condiments on the table if needed, but honestly the broth is so flavorful that you do not really need them. They also give a great portion of protein, which I really appreciate. The place was packed and clearly very popular, and I can see why. I will definitely continue to support Hai Duong and hope they get even more business. And I appreciate that they got so much better compared to during COVID times, Great work, Hai Duong!
