Lotus Garden always provides fast, delicious authentic Cantonese Chinese food. This is why we decided to have CNY dinner at the restaurant with our family from out of town. Although we had a smaller than expected group, they sat us at the round table I had requested. I was thankful for the accommodation. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and hospitality!

Service isn't always there but the food hits. One of the more authentic Chinese restaurants out there and I love that they have hand pulled noodles. If you get lucky, you'll even see them making it through the window! My go to is always the spicy fried pork chops but this time I also tried the lamb noodle soup and was pleasantly surprised! The knife cut noodles were chewy and delicious. The lamb also wasn't gamey at all Wished I lived closer so I could always get their food! P.S. the chili oil is

Found metal in the Chicken w/ Cashew Nuts. The egg drop soup was a bit watery. Staff seemed rushed and not very personable.

Very average. As a vegetarian, I much prefer Dumpling Queen or Hans Palace. Pros: The ambiance is fine. Some music and better lighting would help, but overall, good. 3/5 Cons: Service is very poor. The gentlemen who served us was very unfriendly and had an attitude. 1/5. Food was average. The crispy noodles were stale. The hot and sour soup was actually on the sweeter side and same for the Kung Pao Tofu, too - which wasn't good. The fried rice was decent though. Overall, with the lackluster service, I give this place 2.5/5. I am rounding it down here because I didn't feel there was any effort in making the food or our experience better.

Maybe I need to try something else here, but the beef noodle soup I got was subpar and on top of that, the service was rude. They showed a lot of attitude and were overall very unpleasant. I don't usually care for service if the food is good, but my food was not good and the service was terrible. Overall, 2.5/5 but will bump up to a 3/5 since I don't think it was bad enough to get a 2/5. BEEF NOODLE SOUP - 13.95 You can see the chefs pull the noodles in the back which is impressive. I told my server I didn't want any cilantro in my noodles, but I ended up getting a massive amount of cilantro in mine. So when I asked if they could give me one without it, our server looked at me in disbelief and said, "you can't take them out yourself?" They reluctantly took my noodles back and brought it back five minutes later. Okay, thanks. Overall, the noodle soup was quite subpar. The broth was light and enjoyable, but you can tell it was heavily seasoned with MSG as my mouth was dry within the next five minutes. There was a good amount of beef and bokchoy, which was nice. The beef was flavorless and tough, and overall not great. The noodles were super soggy and very starchy, which I didn't enjoy. There was also way too much noodles for the ratio. Maybe I should have gotten something else like the duck or other Chinese entrees? Overall, not a good experience this time around.

    Bug in fried rice.

They need to work on their hygiene. I placed an order online during lunch and waited in store. Another guy comes in complaining about hair in their untouched food. When I got mine, I decided to check and make sure it was ok, but I found a bug in the fried rice and was horrified. Also the fried rice doesn't look like it has any vegetables. Just burnt rice fried in oil. Won't be going back.

I had a great experience here. Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly. Ordered chicken w cashew lunch, it was delicious!

This place continually surprises.... Tonight had a early Wednesday dinner at 5pm... figured they wouldn't be busy yet... surprise two large tables filled ... no prob as I know they can handle things Tonight hubby wanted frog legs and they have a variety of choices. He opted for the frog and garlic in casserole as we knew there would be additional veggies... there were snow peas, carrots, mushrooms, and whole garlic in a very tasty brown sauce... served sizzling hot in a casserole. I opted for a previous fav of their garlic chicken... basically deep fried chicken with garlic (lots), and green onion. You can either order as a half or whole! We also started with bbq ribs... sweet and yummy severed on a bed of pickled jicama So many more things to explore. Sometimes the staff doesn't speak great English but all are helpful. While they have more Americanized things... trust me and order what sounds good

    Roast Pork Hand-Pulled Noodles ($12.95)

A solid 5/5! Decided to try this place out since a friend mentioned that they serve hand-pulled noodles. So obviously, I had to try a place that made their own noodles from scratch. And I can say, I was not disappointed at all! The food was delicious and left me in a food coma for hours. The Food: I went with the Roast Pork Hand-Pulled Noodles as my main entree and had some crab Rangoons as an appetizer. The roast pork was good, had a decent char on the outside but was quickly soaked up by the broth. The broth was delicious! It had a ton of flavor and spices, adding chili oil definitely took it up a notch. As for the noodles, they were cooked well and had a nice volume to it. They also generously give you a ton of noodles as well, so if you're looking to carb up, I'd come here! The Service: The staff were friendly and we were seated immediately. The food was brought out to us in a timely manner and the whole restaurant was spacious and definitely has that authentic feel. Overall, a solid 5/5 for the food/service. I'll be coming back for sure.

Lotus Garden proved to be an amazing spot to enjoy hot soup on a stormy night! All of us tried a different hand-pulled noodle broth dish (beef brisket, duck, pork). Needless to say, we licked our bowls clean and our bellies were left more than content. The noodles are made fresh in the restaurant - you can watch them make it as there is a view into the kitchen! The broths are all sooo flavorful, I would argue to say their hand-pulled noodle broths are better than pho. Highly recommend coming here if you like authentic Chinese food, with fast and polite service!

    Casserole with eggplant and fish
    Richard L.

Was teetering between a 3 and a 4 star and landed on 4 because of the eggplant casserole. Overall lotus garden looks and feels like your typical Chinese restaurant. They have a collection of American Chinese selection as well as more traditional Chinese choices. We primarily stuck with the Chinese choices for this time around and they were fine. Some dishes better than the other. The highlights were definitely the eggplant and casserole as well as the beef noodle soup. Both were extremely flavorful and went great with rice. Will probably be back to try more dishes if we're in the area, but probably won't go out of our way to hit it up.

Authentic Chinese dishes the whole family loved. Plenty of food from each dinner meal to share. Seafood portions were very adequate.

Recently, Eater DC published a list of what they considered the best steakhouses in the DMV…read more Randy's made the list. We were looking for a place to have our anniversary dinner. After seeing the list, we chose Randy's. Randy's is a Great American Restaurant, and I must say it's so good to go to a GAR with a menu different from the others. In the past, I've written about how one can go to Coastal Flats and get pretty much the same menu as, for example, Jackson's. We made a reservation for 5 p.m. on a Saturday. We arrived about a half hour early, so we asked if they could seat us right then and there. The people at the host stand said "yes". We were seated at a 4-top booth. Thus, there was plenty of room. The booths, which have mohair seat coverings, were a shade of green and quite attractive. The environment clearly says "upscale steakhouse." Our server was prompt in getting to us and asked if we wanted some water. We chose tap water. He gave us time to look over the menu. We decided to not have any appetizers as we didn't want to get too full. To drink, my husband got a glass of Catena Malbec while I got an Espresso Martini. Our server asked if we wanted some bread. We said "yes". The bread basket had 2 flaky, buttery croissants, plus a slice of white bread and a slice with raisins. For our main course, we both got the 7 oz. filet mignon cooked medium rare. We chose to try two sides. One side was "roasted asparagus" which consists of: "poached egg, parmesan (we asked for no cheese and our request was honored), truffled Bernaise aioli". The second side was "Honey roasted organic rainbow carrots," which were "dusted with candied walnuts". As for the food --- We both thought our steaks were properly cooked, However, my husband said his was on the dry side while mine was just right. We both really enjoyed the side dishes. The asparagus was unconventional, to be sure. Never did I have a poached egg with asparagus. I ate the egg, and it was properly cooked. Looking back, I should have thought to put some salt on it as there was none. The truffled sauce was creamy and added nice flavor. The carrots, to me anyway, were a pleasant surprise. The honey added a nice flavor along with the candied walnuts. They, too, were cooked perfectly. As for being "rainbow" carrots, most were orange, with some white and yellow ones. We had some room for dessert, so we decided to share "Tressa's crispy meringue filled with lemon curd and finished with passionfruit coulis". Since it was our anniversary dinner, a dollop of whipped cream was added to the plate. In that dollop was a lit candle, which was a nice touch. I found the coulis to be on the tart side. The lemon curd was mildly flavored. Service was excellent, though dessert took a while ,to arrive. All in all, a nice splurge and we're glad we came here. (Well...we didn't care for the traffic on Leesburg Pike, but the dinner made it worth the trip).

The atmosphere: The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a warm and inviting ambiance. There is plenty of spacious booth seating, which made for a comfortable dining experience. The food: My table started with the Crispy Fried Point Judith Calamari to share. I have a peanut and tree nut allergy and didn't initially realize that the dish included pesto. The staff promptly remade the appetizer without the pesto, which I appreciated. However, the interaction left me feeling a bit like an inconvenience based on the tone of the response. For my entrée, I ordered the Patsy's 5 Star Reserve Rib Eye. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was absolutely delicious. I also added a side of the House Steak Sauce, and it paired wonderfully with the steak. I highly recommend trying it if you're someone who enjoys dipping sauces with your steak! The service: Overall, the service was pleasant. The staff was kind, attentive, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal. While there were a few minor hiccups, I enjoyed my visit and would return to try more of the menu.

I want to mention I was meeting friends and never did we once feel like we were rushed at all. They were very careful to watch and approach in a perfectly timed manner. The food was all very good. The fried zucchini was served not at all as I would expect. Very thin, but good. The tzatziki sauce had way too much garlic. The fried squid was excellent. Probably the best I've ever had. Extremely tender, and the coating was not hard at all. The scoldolia (garlic spread) served in the center had very little garlic in it. It should have a lot of garlic, unlike the tzatziki sauce. The octopus was served with a lovely, what I believe to be, lemony hummus. The Bronzino was excellent. The seafood souvlaki special was very good. It was served with rice and Greek style green beans. My friends had the loukumades (fried donuts). They said they were very good. I had the galotopoudiko which was good--could've been a little bigger for the price. Will definitely go back. My only comment is for the prices, I would expect a little nicer atmosphere. It's a little cold and baron. The atmosphere at Nostos is better. Sorry, but I always seem to forget to take pictures before I start eating the food.

Despite a light crowd and high staff, nobody else notices / cares. Then... only 2 out of 3 entrees arrive. This also goes unnoticed and unchecked. When we finally flag down another waiter, it only gets relayed to our server, who shows up another 4-5 minutes later, confused about the problem. Rather than acknowledging that the order was lost and suggesting an alternative, the server rushes the third dish (without any communication), and it arrives after the rest of my party has finished eating. The obviously newer/younger female server is then confused that I no longer want the dish and disappears again. At this point, we've asked for the check 3x times from 3 different people. Our request to hostess staff to speak to the manager was also ignored. When we finally get the bill, the never-delivered entree is taken off, but it's now 745-8 pm. When I finally relay this to the manager walking out the door, he then whines that he has been lied to! Come on, man, it's your team lying to you / covering up their mistakes, so you've got a big culture problem! Used to like this spot, but will never ever return. Ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner by the incompetence and indifference. Somehow this still came out to a $183.03 dinner for 2 that I got to watch (2 entrees, 2 apps, 1 glass of wine, 1 bottle of sparkling water). In a rush, I left a 18% tip that should have been 5-10% at most. It has a clean, upscale feel that honestly reminded me of walking into a Louis Vuitton boutique. Even the logo has that same luxury vibe. We ordered four drinks: the Pistachio Tea, Snowy Jasmine, Jasmine Tea, and Jasmine Apple Tea. My favorite part was that you could actually taste the tea instead of just sweetness. The jasmine teas had a delicate floral aroma that lingered after every sip, and the finish was smooth and refreshing. The Pistachio Tea was rich and nutty without being heavy, and the Snowy Jasmine had a light, creamy texture that paired really well with the fragrant tea. The Jasmine Apple Tea was interesting. I personally enjoyed it, but both of my kids thought it had a slight Pepto-Bismol-like aftertaste. Taste is subjective, though, and I'd still order it again to give it another try. The shop was moderately busy, and all four drinks were ready in about five minutes. We spent around $45 for the drinks, and I also picked up a Molly pin for my teenager, who loved it. The only downside is the price. It's definitely on the expensive side for tea, so it probably won't become an everyday stop for me. That said, the quality of the tea, the beautiful presentation, and the overall experience were excellent. I'd happily come back as a repeat customer when I'm in the area. We had Aracely and Delilaha, two friendly and wonderful waitstaff, one of whom was being trained and the other had been there for years. My friend told them that it was my birthday, and they came out later with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with happy birthday written in chocolate and a candle in whipped cream. I was also impressed how even a straw wrapper sitting on the table was scooped up by someone coming by. The tall ceilings gave the restaurant an open, airy atmosphere. Next door is the associated bakery where they have cupcakes, pastries, cinnamon rolls, and other lovely treats.

I was really excited when my husband surprised me with a birthday dinner…read morereservation at Churasko last Saturday 3/28, but I'll admit I was a little nervous after seeing some mixed reviews on Yelp. Thankfully, our experience turned out to be absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, the host was warm, welcoming, and very patient as we figured out which dining option we wanted. She clearly explained the different experiences--from the churrasco and Wagyu offerings to the sushi and small plates--and gave us time to look over the menu without any pressure. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with great ambiance and music that really set the tone for a special night. My husband chose the Platinum Tier dining experience for my special occasion and it was worth it. Our server, Mike, truly made the entire evening unforgettable. From start to finish, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He took the time to explain each dish, offered great recommendations, and made sure we were always taken care of. We started with Brazilian cheese bread, which was just okay, but the trio of flavored butters (gochujang, black sesame, and regular) was unique and delicious. Then came the Fire & Ice seafood tower, which was not only beautifully presented but also came with a dramatic tableside display. The grilled shrimp and oysters Rockefeller were excellent, and the chilled oysters and sashimi skewers were fresh and flavorful. The lotus chips on the side were also a nice touch. One dish that didn't quite hit for me was the lobster tempura--it was slightly salty and it was a bit soggy when I expected it to be crisp. However, the lobster bisque more than made up for it. It was hands down one of the best I've ever had--the broth was light but yet very rich and flavorful, perfectly executed!!! We were also served a shrimp egg custard that was interesting and enjoyable, though we were already starting to get full at that point! Then came the highlight: the unlimited premium meats. Everything from the A5 Japanese Wagyu to the lamb chops was delicious and high quality. The bone marrow pasta and Wagyu fried rice were standout favorites for us as well. The presentation throughout the entire meal was stunning--every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and visually beautiful. What truly made the night special, though, was Mike. He went above and beyond to make my birthday feel celebrated. He surprised me with all three desserts, a complimentary champagne toast, sparkles candles, and even two beautiful take-home gifts (a set of Japanese-style bowls like the ones used for the lobster bisque, with the restaurant's name on them). That level of thoughtfulness meant so much to us. We had so much food that we couldn't finish everything, and Mike kindly allowed us to pack up what we couldn't finished to take home. Overall, this was an incredible experience with outstanding service. Honestly, it was far better than when my husband took me to Hell's Kitchen a few years ago--we spent just as much there but received nowhere near the level of service or even a simple birthday acknowledgment. Highly recommend Churasko, and if you can, ask for Mike--he will take amazing care of you!

Went here to celebrate my brother's birthday for the whole family because I wanted to check this…read moreplace out after seeing it all over social media. Wow were we disappointed. We paid Michelin star prices for airport lounge food. That is how I can describe it. The silver and gold packages per person ARE NOT WORTH IT. They give you unlimited wine and beer but it's not wine you get to choose and they were out of the Japanese beer my brother wanted. They have house sake but you can't choose the sake you want. For the cost of what we paid per person (which includes tip) and the service reflects that. You could tell our server didn't want to come to our table very much at all. The only thing that blew me away with the gold package which is what we got was the grilled pineapple. The silver package sits you in the silver section with the silver buffet. The gold package sits you in the gold section with the gold buffet. You get the point so your party all has to do one of them...then there's the platinum which I will never find out about because it's NOT WORTH IT. I thought we were going to get lobster and oysters and all of the wagyu tacos I saw on instagram. I come to find out that is the à la carte menu and it is probably way cheaper than what we paid. The most disappointing thing was that we were told we were getting something called Australian and American Wagyus??? Yeah they were awful pieces of meat. I wanted the Japanese A5 Wagyu seared in front of me for $150 a person at a JAPANESE STEAKHOUSE. It's not the American steakhouse or the Australian steakhouse...it's Japanese...The Filet and Picanha were the softest pieces of meat they offered but even then I could have cooked and eaten better at home. Thank goodness the one great thing is that they didn't charge us for the 2 kids because there was no way they were going to eat $150 worth of food each. If they had charged us for the kids, it definitely would have been highway robbery. The sushi at their "airport lounge like buffet" wasn't great either. The sushi and seaweed salad was sitting out for awhile. It was my brother's birthday and we didn't get a cake- you could only choose 1 of 3 desserts from their buffet. I wanted to try the 4 milks cake but since we didn't know or do the à la carte we were limited to what they offered in the gold package. The ambience and vibes are cool. But definitely just stay downstairs and order off their menu. To do it right I would have gotten the first drink on the house for ladies at dusk and ordered from menu. I hate these kinds of steakhouses because you're always left feeling like you didn't get the quality -- you just got quantity. We felt defeated and I could have eaten better at Capital Grille or gone to a Michelin and at least would have felt more wow-ed! -after a $1,220 for 6 people, I honestly want my money back...
