triple delight rice noodles

Love the authentic Chongqing style food served here. The lamb leg is so good, we get it every time.

重庆酸辣粉 / Hot and Sour Sweet Potato Noodles
Song Y.

Y Noodles is a nice casual spot that feels like a neighborhood favorite. The space is small and cozy, but that intimacy adds to its charm--the aromatics immediately makes me crave the meal I'm about to enjoy. The food is outstanding, made to order, impressively authentic, excellent portions and very reasonable pricing with Szechuan flavors that are bold without being overwhelming. The heat level is perfectly balanced: enough spice to wake up your palate, but not so much that it overshadows the dishes themselves. My personal standouts are the sweet potato noodles, which are silky, chewy, and beautifully seasoned, and the twice-cooked pork, which hits all the right notes--savory, smoky, and deeply satisfying. Each bite makes me want to quickly have another. Every dish I've tried has been fresh, well-executed, and full of character. If you're in the area and craving quality Szechuan cuisine, Y Noodles is absolutely worth a visit. It reminds me of the amazing food I tried while visiting Shanghai. Highly recommended.

It's hard finding some good Chinese food in the Arlington area but this place is seriously legit. Better than yu noodles in my opinion. I got the beef noodle soup and the broth and meat really stood out to me. The pieces of beef were very thick and tender, and I really like the broth because of how delicious and spicy. A word of caution: I love how spicy it was but the spice definitely isn't for the weak. Workers here are mainly Chinese speaking, but service is not an issue with ordering with the QR code. I love soup and was able to ask one of the chefs for an extra bowl of broth with no issues!

Food is delicious at Y Noodles! So far every dishes we have ordered have been super flavorful and spicy! Perfection! Very fast service, food came out really quickly and every dish is made fresh. The way you order is convenient, you use their table QR code, scan with your phone and order from your phone. Each table has the unique QR code. My favorite is their spicy hot pot rice noodles and lotus roots. So spicy so delicious. We love our food spicy and Y noodles have many spicy dishes we like and enjoy. If you love spicy authentic Chinese food, then Y Noodles is the place for you! Seating is limited since it is pretty small inside the restaurant. Big group might have to split tables. Expect to wait a little if the restaurant is full. Overall, I recommend this restaurant!!

Chili Oil Wontons, Chongqing-Style Noodles
Mia L.

Great place! I ordered takeout and definitely recommend. I had the chili oil wontons (and my brother got the Chongqing-style noodles seen in the picture). They were delicious and flavorful. 12 wontons for $9.95 is so epic. Additionally, the food came out fast. I was given a 30-minute pickup time, and the food was already ready when I came by 20 minutes later. The pickup system was efficient too. Inside wasn't anything fancy--just a typical, sparsely decorated Chinese to-go spot. I would order from here again--delicious!

Very quick service and efficient with QR ordering. The place is nice and has plenty of seating.

Small, no-frills spot where you seat yourself and food comes out fast. Don't expect much in terms of ambiance or service -- but you're definitely here for flavor. They bring bold spices that are hard to find elsewhere in the area. I love chili oil but do wish the dishes were a bit less oily overall. Sweet Soy Milk - Simple, smooth, and not overly sweet -- a great way to mellow out the heat. 3/5 Beef Skewer - Dryer and tougher cuts of meat, but that texture works here. Heavy seasoning, strong beef flavor -- pairs well with a drink. 3.25/5 Squid Skewer - Same bold spice blend, but the squid is more mellow in flavor. Chewy and satisfying, but a little less memorable. 2.5/5 Chili Oil Wonton - Silky wonton skin that soaks up the chili broth beautifully. The filling is savory, soft, and moist and the chili oil has a flavorful broth-like consistency 4/5 Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup - The deep red broth looks intimidating but it's well-balanced -- rich beef flavor with a great spicy kick. The noodles are tasty, and the meat was tender and flavorful with melty tendon! Just a little too much oil on top. 4/5 Spicy Chicken Noodles - this one's a bit numbing -- a feature of Sichuan peppercorns, but at a level too strong for me (I'm weak). Without the numbing, I'd rate it higher, because the flavor was otherwise pretty good. 2/5 (maybe 2.75/5 without the numbing)

番茄米线 / Tomato Rice Noodles

Got takeout from here and won't be coming back. I'm genuinely confused why this place is so highly rated - maybe the lack of Asian food in falls church? We got a variety of noodles and all of them were mid or bland at best. I didn't like anything. We tried the spicy noodles, the tomato rice, the beef noodles and the spicy wontons, and none of them were amazing. The broth was not flavorful and the wontons didn't taste fresh or homemade. Also, for the price I didn't think it was super filling either. I wouldn't recommend it.

番茄米线 / Tomato Rice Noodles

always fast service and good food - if you can't eat spicy, the tomato rice noodles are very good. chili oil wontons are good. everything has a good heat and flavor, but not too spicy. just fyi - there is very little parking, more is around the side (NOT in the front)

Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup

The parking availability here is very limited, but fortunately they told me I could park in front of the restaurant (and of course, I watched my car like a hawk as we were eating). I was here for lunch on a weekday and surprisingly there were a good amount of people. The ordering process is really simple here. You scan the QR code and can order through their website. And before leaving, a server will come over with a tablet for you to pay. 三鲜米线 TRIPLE DELIGHT RICE NOODLES - 15.95 This was perfect for a chilly and rainy afternoon. The portion size is pretty big with lots of rice noodles and toppings like spam, napa cabbage, pork, mushrooms, quail eggs, and more! The broth was very creamy and savory, but at the end, it was too salty and fatty. Overall, this was enjoyable and if I'm craving this kind of noodles, I'll order this again. 酸辣藕片 SPICY LOTUS ROOT SLICES - 3.95 Not a whole lot of lotus roots for the price, but it was soaked in a nice spicy sauce taht we all enjoyed. My friends enjoyed the Sichuan noodle soup and the pickled cabbage rice noodles. I haven't been here before, but glad we all got to try it.

Really good, really spicy noodle soup. Small and cramped; no parking; need to go back to try rest of menu. The Chongqing noodle soup here is great. Lip-numbingly good. This is the type of noodle soup I was looking for at Yu Noodles but found here, instead. I had the Sichuan beef noodle soup while my partner had the regular one. Unless you have something specifically against beef, I recommend you get the one with beef. I also had the "sauce pork bun" thinking it would be...saucy inside. It wasn't. Guess I'll try the "fresh pork bun" next time. There are a lot of things on the menu that I want to go back to try (take a look at their website). You order online via QR code at the table so it's very convenient. What's not convenient is the location and parking. The shop is in a 3-store unit with essentially no parking in front and sketchy limited parking spaces in the back, shared by other back-alley tenants. We just ended up parking in the shopping center lot across the street. There are only about 7 tables and 4 counter seats here, so if I go back, it'll be on a weekday off prime time, otherwise, there'll be a wait.

Fried Spicy Squid Skewers

Love the whole unpretentious, hole-in-the-wall with great food vibe. Depending on when you go, there could be a brief wait because it's a smaller space. Ordering is done through a QR code on the table. They'll bring the check at the end when you opt to check out on the site. Both the lamb and squid skewers are yummy. The triple delight noodle soup is a crowd favorite (a bit salty for me but would order again) and their braised pig feet noodles haven't failed me yet. I enjoy the soybean milk here. The Chinese description in the menu says it's "hand-ground". Limited parking on the side of the restaurant block is available.

Karla P.

This is nice small shop serving delicious food. They were quick and service was good. You order through their online menu, and your order gets queued up to be made. I really liked my noodles, I don't think the beef was entirely great, but nonetheless good. The broth was delicious without a doubt. Perhaps I'd try something else if I were to come back here. Their salt&pepper chicken wings were so good! We wanted to order more to go! Parking is on the side of the building. I definitely could see myself coming back here. Next time I'll have to try their skewers those seem to be so good!

The prices are quite good and the portions are generous. I had a full second meal the next day without trying. I got the Yangzhou fried rice and it was very well executed. The meat inside was excellent, with what tasted like lap cheong or a similar Chinese sausage. The egg was fluffy, not burnt, nicely moist, and evenly distributed. Everything tasted fresh and balanced, with real depth of flavor. This is fried rice done properly. The other dish was listed as spicy fried chicken or something, though it was basically a la zi ji. It was excellent. I loved the peppers, and the spices were very aromatic. The frying was done well, clearly cooked in plenty of oil, so not exactly light food, but extremely satisfying. The chicken was crisp and flavorful, and the overall execution was strong. The food came out fast, the prices were low, and the quality was high, and service was good. This is an authentic Hong Kong-style place, not fancy or polished, but clearly focused on getting the food right. Five stars. I definitely want to come back.

My friend is craving dim sum after being in the country, visiting from Hong Kong for 3 weeks. My friend is quite tan, his mom is Filipino, but he grew up in HK and speaks mostly canto and Tagalog. We tried speaking Cantonese to the staff who are speaking it to each other, so they clearly can. My friend has perfect Cantonese. Mine is ok but I am also very clearly Chinese. They replied in broken English instead. One waitress looked at my friend and handed us forks. So clearly, some racism/colorism in the staff. Context: lots of Filipinos in HK are maids and generally looked down on, so not surprised this happened here. The food was mushy and gross. The shrimp in the cheung fan was grayish. It felt like they had this ready early in the morning and reheated it for later. Siu mai was falling apart. Cha siu bao was good but how do you mess that one up? I've gotten take out from this place before in the past and I always forget why I try to not come here, they forget something every time. At this point I'm sure they're doing it on purpose, like little thieves. Anyway, this place has the advantage of being close, with so little dim sum options in the area, unless you want to make the trip to Tysons or Vienna. Or Maryland. One staff member was laying down on a bunch of chairs nearby loudly watching something on her phone. Any other day, I wouldn't complain about that, everyone deserves a break. But given the food quality and the clear racism in the staff, they should be called out for everything. As with any Asian restaurant, feel free to treat me like trash if the food is good. But this place fails in both places.
