Came in on a weeknight for dinner and they weren't very busy, bust service was very good. They have a nice selection of Vietnamese fare, from banh mi to pho to wok'd entrées. They also have a very nice cocktail menu, the guava margarita is really good! Their wings were how we started and the fish sauce is a great flavor to choose. Nice tang to them and they tasted even better when tried with the onions and peppers that were on the plate. Their golden fried rice with grilled chicken was really nice! I enjoyed both the rice chicken, separately. The shaken beef was made with a very nice tenderloin and was also loaded with great flavor and served on a sizzling platter. My experience at the lantern house this evening was awesome! A little tucked away from the main Reston area in a slightly residential area with plenty of street parking and a parking garage, I was pleasantly surprised to find a little oasis of authentic Vietnamese fusion cuisine and delicious fresh mixed cocktails! Highly suggest the lychee mojito!! every person in our four-person girl group had two of these with deliciously plump fresh lychee on top of fresh mint, limes and just the right amount of rum to make you feel all warm inside! The decor was really nice too! Modern with a touch of fun and eclectic. Fortunately, my friends had already been here before, so I had plenty of good suggestions to consider. I opted for a plate that was heavy in vermicelli noodles, and upon ordering the server who took my order highly suggested that I order the woven vermicelli meal that came with lemon grass beef. I am so happy I listened to him because the dish was overflowing with delicious flavor and before I knew it, my plate was completely empty. Service was very kind, prompts and knew all the right suggestions to offer for a high quality experience. Plenty of delicious options for appetizers from classic favorites like fried spring rolls and rice paper summer rolls to savory entrées like short rib, hot pot Vietnamese noodle soups and fried rices. Soggy bread (even though I intentionally picked up my to go order as soon as it was ready), plenty of meat, no toppings even tho I asked for everything, and not even cut in 1/2 so that it can be eaten on the go. This was my first experience at this restaurant as I usually get my sandwiches elsewhere. I have been to this place twice. I forgot to post a review for the first visit, but definitely wanted to post a review for this last visit. I came here around lunch time one day recently and ordered a pho. The pho was delicious and it was a decent portion size. Everything was going great and I was just about to finish my pho when I noticed a male server behind the counter dropped what looked like a clean spoon or fork on the floor, picked it up, rinsed it off (with no soap), dried it off, and then put the utensil in the spot with the other "clean" utensils. I was shocked and upset because earlier I had asked for a fork use for my pho. This made me question the cleanliness of the whole restaurant. The restaurant was empty.She took our order and just was angry delivered all food at the same time . We asked questions about the food she never helped us at all . The interior is really cute, and I think the idea of a pho-adventure (the stone pot) is really cute and innovative. However, I don't think it makes the food taste better since the meat should already be in the hot broth so it is hot. The broth came out hot, but the food remains room temperature. The idea makes sense though, but instead of everything being de-constructed, the meat items should be with the broth in my opinion. The pork belly is really good, but it is noticeably less fatty than usual pork belly buns (good for me, less so for others). Mussels are also good and it was a large portion. Their menu in general is a bit expensive but the portions are large. Super cute decor and for Halloween they had little skeletons! Would come here again, but for their other items. read more

It was interesting to eat sashimi with the coconut sauce and fruit but nothing special. The enchanted forest was good, more on the drier side with the rice and steak. But its a hard to mess up dish to begin with. We were really excited for the duck but it honestly didnt taste like duck as it had a strong gamey flavor to it. The "salad" comprised of raw onion and chives. The drinks were okay. The guava margarita was sour but I wouldn't say it had a strong guava flavor. Everything was amazing, but the highlights for me from the menu were the: * 'Fall-off-the-Bone Pho Stone Pot Adventure' which was superb -- with the freshest ingredients, and broth that was nothing short of divine. The depth of the flavours in the broth were really apparent, along with the richness of the ingredients used to make the broth. 10/10 * 'Garlic Noodles Paradise' which was chef's kiss decadent!!! As lovers of spicy food, my friend and I opted to have ours made spicy , which in my opinion elevated to entire dish. It was sooooo delicious. The banh mi was superr good, and they gave a lot of peanuts with it. We ordered both stone pots and two cocktails as well (fallen angel and the lychee one). The cocktails were a huge hit, they were strong but did not taste strongly of alcohol. Our waitress was really nice, but service was slow despite the restaurant being fairly empty. The restaurant itself was super cute, I really liked the lighting, and it's a nice little spot to have a chill meal. We ordered both stone pots. I wouldn't recommend getting the stone pots, mainly because they ended up overcooking the noodles as the dis stayed hot for too long, so the noodles fall apart and need to be spooned up. The broth pouring was a bit awkward as it spilled on the table and the floor from the kettle for both pots. I think once the Weihle construction is done it will help. I go for the pho and Rice Vermicelli. They don't serve the rice vermicelli in a traditional bowl more like a large plate. I've had the pork and beef and both are delicious. The pho is rich and full of flavor. And unlike most Vietnamese they actually give you a large iced coffee that's equivalent to a Venti. I saw this place popping up in my feed and was excited to try it out. AND I AM SO GLAD I DID! Hahn (apologies if I got the name wrong!) was spot on with his mixing and, my goodness, his mocktails were on point - flavorful, refreshing and you can suck those down all night and feel fine in the morning Lenny, our waiter was helpful and attentive and gave us great recommendations. The pork belly buns were delicious, all that fresh herbs and tender juicy pork...#mouthwatering... the buns were a little tough, but that seriously didn't matter, the fillings were that good. I can't say enough about the freshness of the vegetables and herbs, they really transformed the Pad Thai (I know, so plain Jane, but listen I really like the dish AND they did an excellent job with it). Their garlic noodles were also DELISH - I mean these guys know how to prepare pork - and they had some pickled carrots in their that cut the richness in all the right ways... c'est magnifique! Found a hidden beauty within the developing area of Reston! This place has such phenomenal decor! Love the atmosphere inside and even had a cute little puppy!! However, some of the seats were just too low (wanted to sit on the couches but you would just sink in). The food was pretty good! The Crab Curry rice wasn't bad; definitely could have used more flavor ~ The Mussels Royale was delicious - soft mussels and the BROTH made it so worth. Also the portion is HUGE - most certainly a meal in itself. The Crispy Pan noodles tasted like the korean snack 뿌셔뿌셔 (which are like raw ramen noodles with the sauce packet). Wasn't really a fan - just tasted like crispy crackers Loved the sauce and veggies on the noodles but I wish I had it with actually cooked noodles. Our friend really liked the atmosphere of this new Asian restaurant in the neighborhood so we decided to give it a try. I love Asian food and try to support new business whenever I can, so was very excited for this new gem. The restaurant was pretty empty at 6:15pm when we arrived. Only one other table was there besides us. The place looks clean and the decor was more upscale than other run-down Vietnamese restaurants but nothing too impressive. Chairs were pretty comfortable so I'd give the setup a 4/5 rating. Proceeding to the menu: wow can you make this menu any more confusing? Most items listed had interesting made up names + protein options, but no information about what's in the dish or how it's made. No pictures either. Tell me, how does one know what Vietnamese Garden is if they haven't eaten there before? Poor execution (1/5) We ordered two dishes and a glass of wine. The garlic noodle with chicken was alright. Nothing special but it was flavorful. Definitely not worth $20. Would probably pay $15 at most at other restaurants. The pineapple fried rice was absolutely boring. No pineapple flavor. Tastes like a flavorless fried rice you'd get from a Chinese take out. Honestly Panda Express's fried rice is probably better than this and more flavorful. Definitely not worth $21. I'd paid $13 for this if it's just fried rice and bits of chicken pieces. Now onto the wine, where do I begin... my husband insisted on ordering a glass of white wine (sauv blanc) for $13. The pour is so small that it seems to be only half of what you normally get at other restaurants (so really you get maybe 1/3-1/4 of a tall wine glass pour). And guess what? The whole bottle at a grocery store or Total Wine costs $14. I get that alcohol has the highest markup, especially for wine. But if your bottle only costs $14 and you charge $13 per glass, at least give us a normal pour. Honest review: 2/5 for food and drinks. Overall experience, absolutely disappointing. If you manage to get in there on time for Happy Hour, maybe it's worth ordering something there at a price that seems "discounted" but would have been normal prices elsewhere.
