Lantern House & Bar is such a charming addition to Reston! The décor is beautiful--warm, modern, and inviting--making it the perfect date spot. It strikes that nice balance of feeling a little fancy but still totally comfortable. The restaurant isn't huge, but there is enough space for small parties, so it works well for intimate gatherings too. Their drinks are super cute and genuinely delicious. As for the food, the Mussels Royale is an absolute must if you're a mussel lover--the sauce is seriously to die for. The bread is crunchy (almost too crunchy), so I personally wouldn't mind it being a bit softer, but the flavor combination still hits. The summer rolls are fresh and tasty, and overall, the menu leans toward Vietnamese fusion. It's not 100% traditional, but the flavors are enjoyable, and you can still find classics like pho if you want something more familiar. Service is quick and friendly--our food came out in about 10-15 minutes, which is perfect for a relaxed night out without waiting forever. Overall, a solid four-star spot with great vibes, good food, and insta-worthy drinks. Perfect for date night or a cute evening with friends!

Very good food! My fiancé got the pad thai noodle dish with chicken and I got the ginger pho. The pho was very fresh and flavorful. My favorite thing we got was the chicken and pineapple kabobs -so good !! I would come back again to try more on the menu and sample a cocktail.

We really enjoyed our visit to Lantern House. Just walking in, it's a delightful atmosphere- light and airy, trendy but with a touch of elegance. There's a fun photo wall if that's your thing. Service was timely and friendly. Cocktails and food were tasty.

Lantern House Kitchen & Bar in Reston, VA, features Asian fusion and Vietnamese-inspired cuisine in a stylish and elegant setting, characterized by a harmonious blend of green and white tones accented with gold elements. The service is friendly and attentive, with generous portions. The interior is decorated for Halloween, featuring pumpkins, bats, skulls, spider webs, autumn leaves, dried flowers, and the establishment's signature colorful lanterns. Some dishes we enjoyed and highly recommend: 1. House Special Banh Xeo: A thin rice batter crepe cooked in a hot skillet with pork, prawns, green onion, mung beans, and bean sprouts. It's served with leafy greens, Thai basil, cucumbers, carrots, and radishes for added flavor. The large crepe was chewy with a pleasing crunch from the bean sprouts, creating a delightful experience. Dipping it in sweet, vinegary sauce made it even more enjoyable. 2. Pho Stone Pot Adventure: Large beef broth served in a sizzling hot stone pot, with noodles and high-quality beef on a separate plate. To eat, combine everything in the broth--a perfect dish for a cold day. The portion is generous, and the taste is excellent.

12.7.24 Elegant and classy decor and festive touches for the holidays. The food is out of this world. Some of the best Vietnamese food I've had in the DMV area. My friends and I ordered: -Chicken Skewers: Highly recommend -Garden Summer Rolls -Blazing Harmony w/Chicken: highly recommend. -Banh Xeo with Tofu and Shrimp (Pancakes): Prefer less bean sprouts and more tofu. -Soft Egg Noodles with Tofu: Could have used dipping sauce for tofu as it was bland. Noodle itself was delish Service was great. I was impressed our server remembered our order and didn't need to write it down. This is truly a hidden gem. I was surprised how empty the restaurant was for noon on a Saturday. My friends said likely due to its location. If it was in a shopping center it would more likely have more business. There is street parking up front and around the corner in a parking garage.

We came to Lantern House with my son that has a gluten allergy and the reviews were very good. We were seated immediately upon arrival and our took our order quickly. The decor is very nice and had a chill vibe. I got the Seafood Egg Noodle dish. I also indulged and got a Smoky Old Fashioned. Our meals were delicious and very filling!

We had made reservations for a group of 6 As we entered the restaurant no one greeted us.A disgruntled employee with attitude said this is reserved for someone Then I told her we made reservations. The restaurant was empty. She took our order and just was angry delivered all food at the same time . We asked questions about the food she never helped us at all . We barely started eating she informed us the kitchen will be closed . It was 8:15 pm exact time . We ate there she was so angry we could hear her closing the cash register thumping her feet . She charged us first 30 percent for tips . Food was good we would have enjoyed the experience better if that employee was not working . She started cleaning the floor while we were eating . This was unacceptable.

The interior is really cute, and I think the idea of a pho-adventure (the stone pot) is really cute and innovative. However, I don't think it makes the food taste better since the meat should already be in the hot broth so it is hot. The broth came out hot, but the food remains room temperature. The idea makes sense though, but instead of everything being de-constructed, the meat items should be with the broth in my opinion. The pork belly is really good, but it is noticeably less fatty than usual pork belly buns (good for me, less so for others). Mussels are also good and it was a large portion. Their menu in general is a bit expensive but the portions are large. Super cute decor and for Halloween they had little skeletons! Would come here again, but for their other items.

Fantastic service! Leo and his cousin Jeff/Yuki are the best. We've been here 3 times and have never been disappointed. If you like a coffee adult beverage, get the Cracken...yum!

I will say this place exceeded expectations (food wise) -the drinks were amazing I love the setup very fun vibe there I've been to this restaurant/bar twice in the last month and brought friends the second time they were not disappointed.. the only problem that experienced both times was service...I'm assuming this is new management. But both times I had to flag down a server more than twice since they were not really coming back to our table to check in this was a little annoying but the servers were very nice!

It's all flavors/dishes that are familiar to me growing up in a Chinese household or that I love of Korean cuisine, so I definitely enjoyed dining here! The dining room isn't very big, and since we came for an early dinner, we had our pick and chose a four-top with a view. Well... the view was basically the Paris Baguette that's across the street. The general manager came by to take our order. To drink, I had a mocktail, "house-made lime cooler," which consists of "pureed Asian pear, lime juice, and Sichuan tea." I found it to be very refreshing. My husband had a Coors Light. For my entree, I chose "Soy glazed brisket" which consists of "2Fifty Texas BBQ brisket, soy brined soft egg, furitake butter, pickled peppers, steamed rice". I liked this entree. It was mildly spiced; the pieces of brisket were properly prepared; the pickled peppers added some heat; and the soy-brined soft egg was a nice touch. The egg was soft-boiled, and the egg yolk provided a nice flavor. My husband chose "JJayJangmeon" which consists of "shrimp, scallops, roasted black bean sauce, noodles". The dish is made with wheat noodles. It arrived hot and with a nice vegetable garnish on top. The greenness of the vegetables made a nice contrast to the dark brown sauce. That brown sauce was hot, mild, and thoroughly coated the dish's ingredients. It seemed a bit unusual to see a dish with shrimp and scallops coated in a mild black bean sauce, but it worked nicely. The shrimp arrived tail-less, and the scallops were soft and not rubbery, both properly prepared. I was glad not to have to fight with the shrimp tails. All in all, we were glad we made a return visit.

You HAVE to TRY; what I think is really mouth watering their Tonkatsu Ramen, Fried Oysters app, and Matcha latte Iced drink. There's three combinations will fill you up late at night. We realized we were pretty casually dressed and weren't there to eat a whole lot of food. So, we simply got the Passion Fish Roll (Raw Sushi BTW), a Crispy Buttermilk Fried Calamari, a Rockfish, a side of Sweet Potato Fries and Mac & Cheese. For our drinks, got a couple of Rum & Cokes and a Shirley Temple. The ambiance was pleasant for the most part, as we enjoyed the conversations and the food when each of the plates came out. Just that the service was kind of bias and rude. We could all feel that the waitress was kind of in a bad mood, maybe expecting us to order more dishes and drinks. Anyhow, we noticed the portions were kind of on the smaller side compared to the prices. But taste-wise, everything was pretty good. The Rum and Cokes were fine, a little pricey, but decent. Another thing we observed was that the server never asked us if we wanted more refills or dessert. After she saw that we were done with our food, she simply put the check on the table and that was that. We were full, but we still wanted more bread and drinks, so not sure why she felt like we were going to leave and ready to pay when we didn't even ask for the check, yet. Kind of rude and inconsiderate of her towards the customers, no??? We had to open a new tab after paying for the main one since she thought we were going to leave right away after having our entrees...

But honestly, the food is worth every second. Now let's talk about some of the eats: * Ube waffle: light, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet - the powdered sugar and ube syrup complemented the flavor instead of stealing the spotlight. The chicken tenders were well-seasoned and paired well with the waffle. Whole plate was aesthetically pleasing and delish! * Lumpia: absolute fire. My only regret? Not ordering a mountain of them. * Longanisa breakfast sandwich: solid and yummy, but I wouldn't write my lola about it. Egg cooked to perfection though! * Silog breakfast bowl: oh. my. GAWD. If you're Korean, and you're looking for the traditional affair, this is not it. I'd take a client or friends here who aren't Korean. It's catered more towards non-Koreans IMO. They're selling this as an upscale spot and while the quality of meat is pretty darn good, you have to ask for lettuce and garlic - the two items always present at a traditional k bbq. It kind of sh*ts on the tradition by doing that. Why not provide that to give the full experience we all expect? I love luxury dining as much as anyone else but this was a colossal waste of money. I come to this shopping center multiple times a week since I live in McLean and almost always miss that this exists. They also have barstools outside facing the bar indoors but it's just so awkward. The sidewalk of this area is not built for that! Great idea (usually), but terrible execution. There's so many Korean bbq places nearby. I'm glad I tried this place to kill my curiosity of what they do different. Again, great spot if you want in bbq in a more upscale atmosphere, but it's more or less "fusion," and I'd be good with a business dinner here. Service was impeccable though.
