    Chicken noodle soup

This took the place of the oldie but goodie shik gaek. It was frankly surprising how good everything was here, considering it is known primarily as a bar and looks like it has quite the small kitchen. All the soups we tried were delicious, pancake crispy and good. The pork jowl and shishito peppers were a table favorite. They only item we did not love was the tonkatsu - meat was a bit dry and the sauce came on it which is atypical. Definitely adding this to rotation and can't wait to be back to try other dishes. Staff was attentive.

We used to go to Sik Gaek before management changed, and the place changed A LOT. An iykyk type of place ~ the inside was cool, giving the classic metal round tables, stools, and red tarp. For a Saturday night, around 7:30pm the place is starting to get busy. When you hit 9:00pm, it gets BUSY busy and quite loud - but honestly, it's still a vibe, we like the energy! For their food, the pork belly and chicken gizzard, and the kimchi, chives, and garlic that came with them were my favorite! Cooked very well, very tasty! We also got the odeng soup, which was also good, but I felt was lacking, compared to what was served previously.

This started out as the new kid on the block and now it's probably THE place to hang out in Centreville for the Korean bar scene. All the food items are great. But the only downside is that if you're going there after dinner, the dining options are limited because of the sheer size of the entrees. All the jjigaes and the tangs are pretty huge -- as in it'd feed at least 3 ppl and 4 ppl who are grazing with other foods. So I'd say that if you're planning on heading here, try to go for dinner where you can stay for dinner and drinks. Otherwise, you'll just have a lot of leftovers! The ambiance is excellent and nails the k-pocha vibe.

I went for snacks and drinks. The drinks prices are normal for a pocha, like $16 for soju. The food was all pretty pricey. The budajigae was $40. It's also loud inside, so just be aware

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Every dish was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly, professional, and attentive. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The service was fast, and everything was well organized. The atmosphere was clean, cozy, and comfortable -- perfect for family dinners or hanging out with friends. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and excellent service. I will definitely come back again !

    Dakbal + rice ball

Ever since moving out of nova, I've been craving true Korean food and came here for some late night anjus when I visited! Their dakbal is so so good! I haven't had good dakbal since hanshin pocha closed in Annandale but Daebal house's dakbal had just the right amount of spiciness and didn't have any of the bad chicken smell. It's not the soup kind (which I prefer) but it's still super yummy! The rice balls were really hard to mold together but nonetheless tasty! Their interior is like a Korean pocha you would see in the streets of Korea which was fun and the server came by our table several times to check up on us as well! Would come back again to try some of their other dishes!

I enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Gave that old Korean hof vibe with their steel tables and gold colored aluminum pots. Definitely a VERY Korean spot. Nostalgia is the best way to express my feelings about my two visits there. The food is a bit on the salty side but that's expected of bunshik food. Drinks are plenty - soju is my go to and they have a long list of varieties in that field.

Loved the vibe and definitely plan to return with friends! It felt like we were in Korea with the set up and music. The food was surprisingly very good too and comforting. The drinks were also good especially their lemon drink.

This is a place I almost want to gatekeep - it's THAT good! My friends and I absolutely love Daebal House. From the moment you step inside, it feels like you've been transported back to a "pocha" in Korea. At first, the tinted windows and doors make it hard to tell if the place is even open, but once you step inside, everything from the posters to the music and even the TV shows playing captures the authentic '90s pocha vibe perfectly. The food is incredible, too. I highly recommend trying the Zicoba chicken, it tastes exactly like Korea's famous Gcova chicken (if you know, you know!). The service is also top-notch. The staff is attentive and friendly, and they even offered a free bottle of soju with their own custom design, which is such a cute touch. Whether you're in the mood for a meal or just a night of drinking, this is a spot you should definitely check out!

We used to frequent this spot before it became Daebal and didn't anticipate having to wait for a table on a Thursday night at 8pm but so glad we waited. This place was PACKED and for good reason. The place feels like it's straight off the pocha streets of Seoul from the '90s and we appreciated the throwback K-pop (think 쿨, Turbo, et cetera). The tables are not big so with the 3 of us, it felt perfect with all our various adult beverages, 탕, and dried filefish/peanut plate. This spot will probably be in heavy rotation for a lot of folks! The space is dimly lit but fits great with the vibe of this new spot. The ambiance is great for a night of letting loose with good food, lots of soju/beer, and good music. Met the owner and she said this location is the 3rd franchise. Love it. They just opened last week but looks like the word is already out :)

I've always wanted to try this place and finally got to go! First, the vibes are immaculate. The inside interior is made to replicate a Korean 포차 with the steel round tables and low chairs. They also play old Korean ballads which is just my vibe. Secondly, the servers here were so kind. The lady who was helping us was super patient and nice and made small talk which made us feel welcomed. And finally, the food! Where do I even start. The chicken feet with the 주먹밥 was so good. I've been craving chicken feet for so long and this place hits the spot. I will say the sauce is pretty spicy so if you can't handle spice, I would maybe ask if they can make it less spicy. But the spice wasn't painful spicy but more a feel good spice. It was the perfect 안주 for the soju. The waitress also told us they make them fresh at the start of each day so you know the quality is good. The 짬뽕탕 was also delicious! Don't be alarmed by the super red soup. It wasn't as spicy as it looked but still has a kick to it. The 수재비 in it was also super chewy and the perfect texture. Not pictured, we also had the 눈꽃치즈 omelette and the 참치 주먹밥 both of which were also delicious. 10/10 I will be coming again and highly recommend. The food is sooooo good and I want to try the other things on the menu!

Probably one of the best Korean pochas in the dmv area. The vibe and concept are immaculate-- very 90s and nostalgic. Service is great. And most importantly, the food is fantastic. I've been here several times and ordered different dishes, and everything was super yummy!

A relatively new Korean pocha-like restaurant for drinks and late-night food. The vibes include dim lighting and loud old-school Korean music. They give you a bag of Cheetos when you order beer. We ordered the pork backbone soup ($29.99). We thought the portion was good but we just didn't love it. The soup was very red, but it was not very spicy. We thought the tables were pretty close together. The patrons next to us went outside to smoke a few times and we were continually whiffing the smell of cigarette smoke.

The flatbread pizzas were just okay for me, but my husband really enjoyed the meat lovers version. We arrived during happy hour, which was perfect because we were able to order from the special drink menu. I had a French 75, and it was so good--light, refreshing, and well made. The only small hiccup was that it took about 10 minutes for a server to come to our table. However, once she did, everything went smoothly and she more than made up for the delay with great service. I'd definitely come back to enjoy their happy hour again and try more from the appetizer menu.

The patrons are all friendly. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. I love their service because they are quick to refill my drinks, check on me often but not too much to be annoying, and the bar and tables are quickly cleaned. The karaoke rooms are well kept and I love that they have the ability to look up songs through YouTube and not just the karaoke machine. People need to understand Korean karaoke rooms are charged by the hour but it is up to the patrons to time themselves. It's common practice so seeing the negative comments regarding this is just ignorance. Now the food...I've only recently started ordering food here because I don't like bar food. It's never good and all super unhealthy. But once I tried their mozzarella sticks?! Holy crap. Since then I've tried their bulgogi sandwich, burger, calamari, wings, and all of them were so tasty. I don't like American food so this is saying something. They take their time with their food and you can tell they cook with care because the plating is also cuter than other bars and the seasoning and ratios are all great. I also love that there are games you can play! Jenga, cards, beer pong table (depending on the day/time), chess, and other games I don't know the names of. I like that you can watch sports games and eat without needing to drink bc the food is so good. Definitely recommend!
