I can't believe how many times I scrolled past this place on Yelp!!! My husband and I love trying new kbbq spots in the area but I think we found our kbbq home (as long as the quality stays up to par). The interior was super nice and it wasn't super packed on a Monday afternoon (holiday). It was clean and modern. The customer service was great! The owner literally is there on the ground serving food amid meeting his clientele which I respect and appreciated. Okay FOOD: I LOVED the food! The quality was great, meats were tender and juicy, cuts of steak were decently thick like others mentioned in their review, and we ate all our sides which never happens when we got to kbbq spots. When the sides are high quality too, that's when you know you hit the jackpot. We did the All You Can Eat (AYCE) dinner menu. There were a great variety to select from. I also enjoyed all my dips, I feel like a lot of places have great meat but bad dips or great dips but bad meat quality. This place has it all!!! I'm already drooling about my next visit Overall highly recommend this spot!! Great prices, amazing quality, good sides, delicious food. read more

SoDayZ Korean BBQ, located in Cascades Overlook Town Center in Sterling, VA, offers premium All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ along with à la carte options such as spicy ramen with brisket, kimchi pancake, and bibimbap. We appreciated the high-quality, thick-cut meats, particularly the pork belly, picanha steaks (a Brazilian cut), and Jumuluc (marinated beef). The staff provided friendly, exceptional service, and the restaurant boasts a clean, spacious, and modern atmosphere. The AYCE menu also includes steamed egg, soybean soup, and other side dishes. Notably, the spicy radish was the best we've had at any similar BBQ restaurant in the DMV. read more

I went there with my dad on Thursday after 11:00 AM, excited to try their AYCE Korean BBQ for lunch, but their double doors were locked, and the place was dark. Maybe there's a different entrance? We couldn't find it. Later, I called to verify their store hours on Thursday, and they said they're open at 11:00 AM. If you're going early to beat the crowd, I recommend calling ahead. read more

Sōdayz Korean BBQ in Sterling is hands-down one of the best AYCE Korean BBQ experiences in the area! From the moment you walk in, you can tell they take pride in quality -- and it absolutely shows in the food. Their menu features an impressive all-you-can-eat selection of premium meats and seafood, and we always appreciate the BIG variety. From beautifully marinated bulgogi and spicy pork to tender brisket, short ribs, and fresh shrimp, there's something for everyone at the table. The quality of the meat truly stands out -- it's fresh, well-cut, and consistently flavorful. You can taste the difference. One thing that really sets Sōdayz apart from other nearby Korean BBQ spots is the service. It's superior. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, quick to bring refills, and they proactively replace the grill multiple times throughout the meal -- which makes a huge difference in keeping everything tasting clean and fresh. That level of attention is rare and so appreciated. The side dishes (banchan) are always fresh and plentiful. The soup is especially comforting and flavorful, and the steamed egg option is such a fun and delicious bonus you don't always see at other places. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared. We always leave full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for quality meat, a wide selection of AYCE ($36) options, and service that truly goes above and beyond, Sōdayz Korean BBQ in Sterling is the place to go! read more

My family are huge fans of KBBQ and noticed this was one in the area we've never tried before. Stopped in here for dinner for a family of four. Children under the age of 3 are free, score! We were sat right away and decided to do the AYCE, which was really affordable! ($34.99) they had al la carte options if that's what you prefer. The menu for ayce had a lot of variety. Instead of the typical brisket and bulgogi, they had many steak options and also variety with pork and seafood. Service was good and okay at the same time. Servers were friendly but they would often forget to keep tabs on the cooking. While it's really a preference thing on whether you like to grill yourself or have some help, I have seen places that have a little indicator allowing you to choose for help or not. Restaurant was clean and the cent right above the grill helped a lot with the smoke. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place! read more

We got the AYCE option for dinner. They have a pretty decent amount of meats to choose from. They also provide a lot of side dishes and good dipping sauces. My favorite side dish would have to be the broccoli. The meats are exceptional and aren't overly fatty. Our server was also attentive and helped cook our meats often. Do note that your party only gets 1 complimentary refill of steamed eggs and soybean stew. read more

I had been to this place before under the old name so I wanted to go back and try it. While the staff was nice the food was not. We did ayce option and really the only thing that was good was the beef fillets. I love getting spicy pork belly and theirs was not good or their steak options. Their side options were nothing great and their sauce options were one of the worst ones since there was not even a spicy option. There are so many other kbbq places that are better AND cheaper so I do not plan on going back to this place. read more

I came here for a birthday dinner and it was a good experience! Sodayz was a tad pricier than some of the other AYCE Kbbq restaurants in Nova, but I enjoyed the meat quality. We ordered brisket, hanger steak, picanha steak, and probably some of the other meats that I can't recall because we ate so much. The brisket was nice and had a good amount of fat-not too much but still enough to give the meat a nice flavor. The hanger steak was very tender and had a good flavor as well. The servers were attentive and helped us cook the meat as well. There was also a good variety of side dishes too. I liked the salad and radishes that helped cut the fattiness of the meat. read more

Simple place offering all you can eat option as well as " a la carte" menu. We came at unusual hour, so we were the only customers at the time. Very polite staff, medium order waiting time and in my husband opinion really autentic bibimbap! We also had some fried dumplings, popcorn chicken and kimchi stew ( which is great for the hangover btw ) We really enjoyed all our food and I'm definitely coming back to try the bbq and other options from the menu! I wish they had kids menu or a bit more of the options suitable for little picky eaters . I also would work on interior design a bit, to make place more visually interesting and pleasant . read more

I love how I don't have to drive further to Centerville or Annandale to get some good kbbq! I definitely recommend splurging a little more and getting the nicer combo set instead of the all you can eat. There's an option for 2 or 4 people and I did the 4 person set. It comes with a bunch of premium meat making the quality extra tasty. I also ordered the seafood pancake and soy fried chicken appetizer. The seafood pancake was very generous with the seafood inside. I feel like other places I've been to only put a few small pieces in there but this had large chunks of octopus. The sides are also really good and they refilled it for us several times. The interior is very spacious and clean as well. Our server was very friendly and helped us cook the meat the whole time which was nice instead of having to cook everything ourselves. I will be back! read more

The price has recently increased to around $36-38, but I have to say the beef brisket was absolutely delicious and the quality of the meat was excellent. The only disappointing part was the cleanliness of the grill. As shown in the photos, there appeared to be residue trapped between the grooves of the grill. When it was heated, I could see it bubbling, which was not very reassuring from a hygiene standpoint. I asked the staff to replace the grill twice, but each replacement had the same issue, with visible dark residue still remaining between the grooves. I'm not sure if this is due to the grill's design or the cleaning process, so I can't say exactly what caused it. However, as a customer, it didn't leave a very clean impression. I hope the restaurant pays more attention to grill cleaning and maintenance. With better hygiene, this place would easily deserve a much higher rating. read more

I am a big fan of steaks and other fine protein options. As a frequent diner of Korean BBQ, this place intrigued me. Recommended by our young family members, we ventured off on a Friday evening. This is the replacement to Kiwa, a place we used to frequent until they quickly slid downhill. Enter Sodayz, and what a welcome change. The beef selections were such a surprise. No bashing other places but this place has outstanding the cuts, albeit not prime cuts, they were tender and the marinated options were tasty. Staff: our particular server was probably the "king" of servers. He may have been management or even an owner. We learned that the new owners only have this restaurant. This patient server, whose name escapes me, was knowledgeable and stood nearby to make sure he was the one cooking our food. We shall return and hope that this quality service and amazing food is still in existence. read more

First time trying today and it was delicious! We enjoyed the meat options for AYCE with many to choose from the beef and pork options. The squid was also good. I'm picky when it comes to my spicy marinades and this one had a subtle sweetness that I enjoyed. Soufflé egg came out beautiful and the soup was tasty. A tad salty but I didn't mind- still yummy! The banchans also hit the spot with the mash potato- which a lot of kbbqs don't offer anymore. This place has become one of our favorites in the area and it offers a different variety compared to the other AYCE places. Service was also fast. This place definitely deserves more attention! We prefer this more than the previous spot (kiwa). read more

This place used to be called Kiwa Sushi and they changed management over the past year. We went near the end of 2025, had the AYCE option. The meat was very fresh, and it came out in a timely manner. I think quality is still on point if not better. I love that their pork jowl is offered on the less expensive AYCE (usually it's on the more expensive menu). Ambiance is unchanged, clean and organized. Pretty good kbbq place! read more

Came here with friends, left already planning our next visit to Sodayz. OMG!! Especially the galbi-sal (beef short rib)... absolutely phenomenal. The meat was perfectly grilled, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor! It's honestly one of the best cuts of beef I've had at a Korean BBQ place. The staff were super friendly and attentive, the side dishes were fresh and tasty, and the overall atmosphere was clean, cozy, and welcoming. If you're looking for high-quality meat and a satisfying BBQ experience, Sodayz is the place to go. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back! read more

Hmmmmmm...jury is still out on Sodayz. They are still getting their sea-legs as the new KBBQ restaurant that replaced the old Kiwa. A friend and I tried this place out shortly after it opened and I hope the new owners will tweak some things based on customer feedback like these reviews. Off the bat, I will say: * Kiwa needed to go. Sadly, they came in and opened strong with really good quality Korean KBBQ meats, marinades and flavors and BIG portion sizes for their a la carte meats. But that quickly and sadly went downhill. And ultimately Kiwa's value as a solid KBBQ joint fell short.... So I was pleasantly surprised to see a new KBBQ joint take Kiwa's place and am still holding hope that Sodayz will get their formula optimized for long term success (because frankly the Sterling / Dulles area desperately needs a good KBBQ spot). THE POSITIVES: * No KBBQ joint is worth anything if its meats are not AUTHENTICALLY KOREAN - the meat marinades have to be just right in taste and flavor. I WILL say the kalbi short rib and bulgogi that we ordered here (a la carte) were EXCELLENT and DEEEEELICIOUS. For sure I can attest to their authentic Korean flavored marinades, both meat cuts. Very very impressive. * Service that night was EXCELLENT. Edwin was our server who we found out is also in charge of all the servers - GOOD CHOICE. Edwin was attentive, responsive and a pleaser. He knows that excellent customer service can make and elevate a customer's dining experience - "no" was not in his vocabulary. And he was real-time training another server. If they can all be trained to be like Edwin, MONEY. Not being Korean, he still knew PRECISELY how to grill our meats like a (Korean) champ! NEVER UNDERESTIMATE HOW THE MEAT GRILLING METHOD CONTRIBUTES SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE TASTE, FLAVOR ENHANCEMENT AND QUALITY OF THE MEAL. Grilling KBBQ meats is as much an art as it is a science. * Inside / Interior ambiance of the restaurant is excellent, comfortable, casual and inviting. Very clean and neat. Tables are spaced nicely apart with comfortable chairs and nice long tabletops to spread out all the little dishes and plates that come with a classic KBBQ dining experience. The restaurant is bright, open and airy with lots of good natural light exposure from all the floor-to-ceiling windows that line one whole side of the restaurant. * We saw the owner buzzing around and present that night. I like seeing that the owner has a presence in the business and is on the floor making sure everything is running like clockwork and that his staff is there ensuring customer satisfaction. NOW, THE NEEDS IMPROVEMENTS: * AYCE prices here are high for the quality of meat cuts offered. The only beef cut close to kalbi on the AYCE menu is the Picanha Steak which is no kalbi (marinated short rib cut) sorry to say. And if you're not coming to an AYCE KBBQ place to have good qual and expertly marinated beef, then you're paying too much for just eating chicken and pork and filling up on corn cheese (whyyyy?!! lol!), noodles, pancakes and banchan. * They only offer the true authentic marinated kalbi as an a la carte - a VERY PRICEY $40 per order and the portion size for each order is SO SMALL. See my pic. I will say again that the kalbi (grilled properly) is delicious. But $40 is over-the-top pricey. Sadly, it's probably the best beef cut on their menu. * Stingy pours of wine for the price. They have no long (or even short lol) wine list to speak of. Just "Glass of Red / White Wine" on their menu and the red I ordered was passable (for a non wine connoisseur that I am). But at $9 a glass, the pours are TINY (see my pic). That's just a little nit. Easily fixed! * Not a great place for large parties. The tables cannot be moved together and each table has a small circular grill so crowding 5 or 6 ppl around one table might be do-able but how much meat can actually be grilled for that many ppl on their small grill pans? Very limiting - especially with AYCE places now restricting you to 90 mins AND everyone in your party must order AYCE. * imho Sodayz is doing too much and trying to be all things Korean to all ppl. They offer FIVE, COUNT 'EM FIVE, different steak cuts (honestly, who can tell the difference between them all?) and pork and chicken and seafood then all their other Korean bowls and entrees. That's a LOT. Too much in fact. It's mind numbing, all the different choices. Sticking with a more focused menu would be better and maybe they can cut costs (and lower prices) AND offer larger portion sizes on a limited number of classic KBBQ menu items. Bottom line - glad Sodayz took over Kiwa's space and their kalbi and bulgogi are delicious but there's still a long way to go to KBBQ perfection here. For an occasional craving, this would be a good spot if you're in the area. But it wouldn't be my go-to choice to come all the way out to Sterling/Dulles for the reasons above. (AYCE at Meat Project Fairfax still reigns supreme imho - read my review.) read more

SODAYZ Korean BBQ - A Total Game Changer in Sterling, VA We had just rolled back into town after a trip to Nashville--tired, hungry, and with zero motivation to cook the steak we'd planned on. Somewhere between the parking lot and sheer exhaustion, we decided to hit up a familiar Korean BBQ spot. But as soon as we walked in, something felt different. Not "did they move the chairs around?" different--but "hey, this place suddenly doesn't suck anymore" different. And we mean that in the best possible way. Enter SODAYZ Korean BBQ, the new crew that took over the place--and completely flipped the script. They didn't just change the menu. They purged the old vibe like a spiritual cleansing. New ownership, new staff, new energy. If this place were a car, they took it from a rusted-out clunker to a high-performance grill machine. We were greeted by our amazing waiter Young, who seated us and guided us through the "all you can eat" experience. And oh boy, did we eat. Spicy shrimp that had a little kick, beautifully marbled beef, pork belly that basically whispered sweet nothings as it sizzled, and a mountain of fresh veggies that even a meat lover could respect. I ordered a big can of Sapporo, but since I like my beer ice cold and borderline frosty, I asked for a bucket of ice. Most places would either shrug or give you a side-eye. Not here. They improvised like champs and had my brew chilling in no time. Pro move, Sodayz. Partway through, another sharp, focused guy named Min swung by to help out. You could just tell he had that owner energy--like the kind of guy who's not afraid to get his hands dirty to make sure things are done right. Turns out, he is one of the new owners, along with his brothers--yes, all three of them were working the floor that night, making sure the place ran like a well-oiled grill. These guys didn't just open a restaurant--they lit a fire under it. Friendly service, top-notch food, and an atmosphere that feels alive. You don't get that by accident. You get that by hustling hard and taking pride in what you're building. Verdict: If you've written this spot off based on the old regime, it's time to come back. SODAYZ isn't just better--it's like a whole new restaurant. Bring your appetite, bring your friends, and maybe bring a second stomach. We'll definitely be back--preferably with looser pants. Honorable Mention - Adwin at Sodayz BBQ Just wanted to give a shout-out to Adwin, a standout guy working over at Sodayz BBQ. I watched him hustling hard--cleaning tables, jumping in to help with the cooking, and doing it all without missing a beat. No attitude, no slacking--just solid work ethic and pride in what he's doing. Respect to you, Adwin. Keep grinding. You're exactly the kind of worker people remember read more

Very disappointing Korean BBQ experience. They put sugar directly on all the raw meats, which is absurd and something I've never seen before. The meat quality was very poor and hard to eat. Service was inconsistent -- table in front of us had a server grilling for them, but we received zero help. To make it worse, when I couldn't finish the meat because it tasted bad (and there was only a small amount left), the server scolded me for not finishing what I ordered. Bad food, strange preparation, and rude service. Not recommended. read more

Pros: The staffs are very friendly. Great inner decoration. Cons: Very limited menu for ayce Korean bbq. Only a couple options for steak. The quality is OK. The picture of food uploaded by the owner is not included in the AYCE. Only three dishes allowed for each round. I would not recommend if you are looking for various types of proteins, especially steak. It is a lovely, locally owned Korean restaurant. A birthday girl chose this place to celebrate their birthday and it was a great choice. We might have been the only ones in there to begin with so it was very peaceful. That also meant we had excellent service. The top steak was the best meat option we had and the beef bulgogi was also excellent. The sides weren't as flavorful as similar places I have been. I've been gatekeeping this place but I also want them to continue to be in business, so I will leave a review. Excellent marbling on the unmarinated galbi. Quality, fresh banchan.
