Gogi Gogo, run by a husband-and-wife team, is a homey spot for high-quality and very flavorful Korean dishes (and a few Japanese ones, too). There is so much to love about this family-owned business. The friendly owners obviously put lots of care into the dishes that they prepare, and they show great attention to detail. We love that soondubu comes in a stone bowl, for example. We also appreciate how the proprietors show us how to eat the assorted dishes, like which sauce accompanies which item. It feels like they want us to enjoy things "the right way," and that goes to show how dedicated they are to showcasing this cuisine, regardless of the diner's level of experience with Korean food. Our whole family appreciates how well executed their cooking is. And the owners don't just excel at authentic Korean dishes, both more traditional (rice cake soup) and street food/fusion ones (rose tteokbokki). They also make exemplary ramen! The broth is to die for--my picky son's favorite in NOVA. And I can tell just looking at the pork belly and the ramen egg that each component is masterfully prepared and delicious on its own, and as part of the noodle soup bowl. One thing that you'll consistently find at this mom-and-pop business is that their food preparations lean toward balanced and clean flavors. Their food is noticeably less oily compared to similar establishments. The clean and pleasant environment are also a perk. I appreciate how they always have fun food competition shows playing in the background. (And I don't get it when restaurants leave television programs with less appetizing content on the screen or screens, hah.) They are constantly coming up with new specials, like bulgogi hot pot (dine-in only), so we'll be back for familiar and new-to-us dishes.

Still living up to their standard and quality of food. The Bul-gogi dosirak & tonkotsu kimbap were delicious alongside their housemade kimchi. I wanted to highlight their amazing service because mom and I had dropped by for lunch after visiting my dad from the hospital and were tired and sad but the employee sent well wishes and even provided us with a small sweet treat of the mochi red bean ice cream and that small gesture really touched us. We have such a warm feeling towards this place and the staff. Thank you for the filling meal and kindness

My friend and I ordered from here through DoorDash and he ordered the Bulgogi Ramen and he devoured it! The service was really quick! We also ordered the fried dumplings and they were absolutely delicious!! I ordered the Bulgogi Dosirak and it was absolutely amazing!! My friend also ordered four Sprites which came in cans and he enjoyed them. We will definitely be ordering from here again!!

Gogi Go Go is a solid spot for quick, flavorful Korean comfort food, offering hearty BBQ bowls in a clean, casual setting with a homey vibe. They recently changed ownership in October, and although the former owner will always be missed, the new owners are just as friendly and attentive, and they're already working on improvements that genuinely feel exciting. The portions are satisfying and the ingredients feel fresh, and dishes like the chadol or spicy chicken or pork bowls really stand out. While the prices can feel a bit on the higher side for fast casual, the overall experience is consistently good.

My friend and I stopped in for lunch. We're both huge fans of Korean food and love trying new spots. We started with the dumplings and both ordered the beef gom tang ramen. The dumplings were solid. The sweet dipping sauce was nice. For the ramen, we received a small side of kimchi to share. I was wondering where the banchan was, it didn't exist. The flavor was pretty good. My issue was that the portion was very small for the cost. We had two small slices of beef. The service was good. Server was nice. The ambiance was fine. Place was clean but didn't have any charm. I'm a huge fan of Korean food. I was really happy to see another one in Ashburn. Unfortunately, unless they work on their portions, it's not worth the price tag. Luckily honeypig opened up close by, check them out!

Good food. Nice staff. Clean place. Fair pricing. Not fancy. Korean food done very well. I do recommend this place. Be aware that it can be spicy so ask to sample the sauces.

Gogigogo is a MUST visit in the DMV. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the owners, Jackie and Sue, are the kindest, most hospitable people you'll ever meet.

    Pork Galbi Dosirak

My family ordered takeout from this restaurant with few expectations and were pleasantly surprised with the food. I personally got a pork galbi Dosirak. The galbi was so delicious, it almost tasted like I was eating at a KBBQ restaurant! You could really taste the slight char and deep flavor from the marinade. I was extremely impressed with it. I'm not too familiar with most of the sides in the rest of the Dosirak box, but they were average or good at best. My one gripe is that the prices seem to be VERY high for what you get. I was the only one to get a Dosirak box, and it seemed like I was the only one who ended up full after the meal. Bear in mind, my Dosirak was $21, but other options on the menu run from $15-20, and some even go as high as $30!

The miso eggplant was a nice sized appetizer for sharing and was seasoned nicely. The chicken ramen was also the perfect amount of spicy, had a good ratio of noodles to broth to vegetables, and was presented well. The dishes paired well with the matcha lemonade, which was aesthetically presented, had a subtle sweet lychee flavor, and was perfectly balanced. I've been to other Jinya's and this experience matched the quality and service of the other times. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you're craving ramen!

Overall, it was pretty tasty. Nothing outstanding, but maybe my taste buds weren't functioning. It was not bad overall, and was filling as I hadn't a proper breakfast even. I would rate it 7/10. Not bad, and the cost for dine-in was a little over $20, which wasn't bad but not cheap either. For the service, I'll give it a pass. Overall, impressed with this Japanese restaurant and hopefully will be back to try something else on the menu, if I find myself in the One Loudoun area again.

A lot of the NoVA hibachi spots aren't open for lunch on the weekends. We chose Sakura Grill because it was one of the few that were. We came for a Sunday lunch and it was nearly empty. Service was pleasant, but the hibachi chef did the bare minimum. We started with a couple appetizers - the crab rangoons, takoyaki, and an eel roll. All were satisfactory and brought out quickly, but noticeably absent from the takoyaki were the bonito flakes. I will commend the restaurant for being mindful of dietary restrictions. We had someone in our party who requested no onions in their hibachi, and the chef was able to accommodate without any issues. We also had someone who ordered the vegetable hibachi, and the staff asked whether that diner was a vegetarian and advised that the hibachi meals came with shrimp. Another plus was that they had a sink in the dining area to wash your hands. As for the hibachi presentation, the chef lit the grill on fire, spun the spatulas around at the intro, tossed the egg up and down a few times, did the onion volcano (though poorly executed), and attempted to throw a piece of zucchini into our mouths. There was an option for a sake shot from a squeeze bottle, but we all declined. The chef relied on a few gimmicks - a silly squirt bottle and a clucking rubber chicken. He didn't have a lot of showmanship or pizazz or any wow factor. The chef wasn't very engaging - he might as well have cooked the food in the back kitchen. This was my brother-in-law's first time at a hibachi restaurant, but the lack of razzle-dazzle in the cooking did not impress and left something to be desired. I ordered the filet mignon hibachi. Each hibachi meal comes with a small house salad and hibachi soup (mushroom based broth with fried onions). You can also swap out for the miso soup, if you like. The filet mignon was nice and tender. I could've done with more flavor, but I guess that's what the dipping sauces are for. One of my favorite things about going to a hibachi place is the fried rice. This fried rice was average, and the veggies were also average... everything was average. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff were kind enough to sing happy birthday twice - once from the hibachi chef with the onion volcano and once from the waitstaff with a festive drum and tambourine. I will credit the waitstaff for providing effective service, but the food and hibachi experience were pretty mid overall.

However, they do a good takeout business, as we noticed several people come in to pick up their orders. Before coming here, we looked at their menu. Thus, we knew what we wanted when we got here. Service was great. The staff here is friendly and efficient. Our server checked on us more than once during our meal. To drink, my husband ordered a Kirin Light beer while I ordered a glass of plum wine. Some Japanese places fill the glass too high, but here, the portion size was reasonable. I ordered "the poke bowl". I chose salmon for my fish. This bowl consists of "Sushi-grade fish topped with vegetables, mixed with poke sauce over a choice of mixed greens or rice". I chose the rice. Before coming here, I looked up "poke sauce." I found a website called "pokebowlny.com." This is the description they gave: "traditional poke sauce blends soy sauce, sesame oil, and often rice vinegar, along with aromatics like garlic and ginger. This classic combination makes the fish taste fresher, the vegetables more vibrant, and the rice more flavorful." The vegetables in the bowl were kernel corn, seaweed salad, and cucumbers. I really enjoyed having this meal! All the flavors worked well together. I look forward to having it again. Along with the poke bowl, a bowl of miso soup is included. That, too, was quite good, and it came to the table quite warm. My husband ordered "Tuna Don," which consists of "fresh tuna sashimi over rice & vegetables. His entrée came with both miso soup and a small side salad. The bowl had a big slice of radish, some seaweed salad, and the usual shredded daikon. The wasabi was really spicy - he could feel it in his nose and sinus cavity - it'll take your head off. The generous portion of tuna was large with thicker slices than he'd ever seen before.

We walked in for lunch and it was busy, 10+ tables. It took a minute to be seated, no big deal, but we noticed immediately that the man seating us was also the ONLY employee on the floor. We watched as he made drinks, boba, pulled cases of Coke behind the counter, refilled water, and some 10 minutes later, finally made it over to take our order. We were very leery, but another employee suddenly appeared out of the back with the table settings and we were assured it was fine. We order and it takes about 10 more minutes just to get the broth. That starts BOILING before any of the meats, vegetables, or other items are delivered to the table. By this point we haven't eaten anything other than the complimentary peanuts and cucumbers, and we've been there a half-hour. My son's chicken arrives soon thereafter, and we finally receive the hot pot stuff. And that's the last we saw of the service team until he brought the check nearly 30 minutes later. We tried waving him down for refills, the other employee walked by and asked if we wanted a refill on the broths and then forgot about us. For an all-you-can-eat hot pot place, they sure can save a ton of money by never refilling your items, drinks, or broth. He brought out the check at nearly an hour later and I asked why he hadn't offered me a refill for any of the hot pot items. He apologized and then asked if I would be paying via card. I used the reward dollars we'd saved from previous visits because we don't think we'll be returning. Literally, absolutely zero inclination to serve us more food or even acknowledge that we were still hungry and hadn't seen him or any other staff after the initial table set. I removed the defaulted 22% tip HE selected on the credit card reader he brought to the table and asked for the manager. He said he'd be back, then disappeared to the kitchen immediately and didn't return for the 10 minutes we decided to wait. Another customer asked us if we'd visited before, and we told them we were monthly visitors, but this would likely be our last time. Another employee we hadn't seen the entire time we'd been there came to bus the table and we asked her if there were problems. She told us she couldn't talk about it, then hurried off to the back without even finishing our table. Most likely they were at least watching her, and would retaliate if she said anything out of line. A group walking in heard me complaining as we walked out, stopped me to ask what happened, then followed us back out the door. Can't recommend them anymore. Not sure what happened in the month since we were last there, but it's apparent it's not being managed actively. Short staffed is one issue, being poorly staffed by employees who don't care is a larger problem. Maybe new ownership and management is needed, if it continues like this, the corner will be vacant before too long. Sad, because this was a good place without having to drive to Falls Church. They could've cornered the market here in Ashburn.
