There are several parking options within the center- parking garages, street parking, and a couple of lots. The blueberry mojito was DELICIOUS! The appetizers were pretty tasty too. However, I was not overly impressed with my main meal. I ordered a hibachi combo, the filet mignon and chicken. I was honestly disappointed, the flavors were lacking in my opinion. Okada is a Pretty decent Japanese restaurant that serves Sushi and Ramen. I stopped by on a winter weekend while visiting the One Loudoun area. I ordered the D49. Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen Dinner as I came at 3 PM which was a little after the dinner hours. It was pretty good. Came with bamboo shoots, seaweed, and boiled egg and the spicy chili sauce on the side. I asked for it on side as I wanted to experience the taste w/o spice and then add it myself if needed. Overall, it was pretty tasty. Nothing outstanding, but maybe my taste buds weren't functioning. It was not bad overall, and was filling as I hadn't a proper breakfast even. I would rate it 7/10. Not bad, and the cost for dine-in was a little over $20, which wasn't bad but not cheap either. For the service, I'll give it a pass. Overall, impressed with this Japanese restaurant and hopefully will be back to try something else on the menu, if I find myself in the One Loudoun area again. read more

A friend and I stopped by one day for lunch to catch up. I've been eyeing this restaurant, but hadn't had a chance to try them. I was really happy to finally be able to try their food! The restaurant only had a handful of customers dining in, and it was fairly quiet and relaxed. Service was good: our orders were taken quickly, our food came out fast and the server was polite and patient. I did run out of water once, and it took a minute for the server to refill my glass up. It was not that big of a deal though. My friend is on a limited meat diet, so we always go somewhere with a good variety of vegetarian-friendly dishes. Okada had pretty good selection of these dishes. We ordered age-dashi tofu to start, chicken katsu bento for me and veggie shoyu ramen for her. I'm not a tofu fan, but I did try it and it was okay. The chicken katsu bento was delicious. I was between a ramen and a bento. The bento was perfect. I needed the crunch of the chicken katsu, and I wanted to eat rice. My friend enjoyed her ramen. She said she had been craving ramen, and her veggie shoyu ramen hit the spot. Overall, solidly good dining experience. I came here with my husband, for a date night. We had the peach sake which was outstanding. Ordered the calamari rings and the shrimp tempura Roll (Fried shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and eel sauce) as starters. As entrees we tried their signature ramen. The ramen broth is thick and full of savory tastes. I was astonished at how delicious this was. I subsituted the seafood miso ramen with just shrimp. My husband had Chashu Pork Miso Ramen. This restaurant is located in One Loudon. The area is vibrant with a bunch is restaurants and bars. This restaurant has a nice vibe to it. Our server was great and very attentive. And it was easy to get a reservation on a Friday night. The menu is extensive. There are many vegetarian options, including vegetarian sushi rolls. They also have a kids menu which was great. Here is what I ordered: - Garlic Edamame: this was way too spicy for me. I wish I had ordered the regular ones. - Vegetable Dumplings: I wasn't sure if they had vegetarian dumplings, so I asked the server. She said they did and I could get it either fried or steamed. I chose the fried option and absolutely loved it. - Vegetable Maki Sushi: there are 4-5 vegetarian sushi options. Most of them are single vegetable ones. But there is one combination roll. I loved this. I do wish they had more vegetarian sushi options like tempura roll, or allowed for a custom option. Overall, loved this place. There is something for everyone. I've been a frequent flyer here for some time. I usually take my team here for lunch. I've always had a good experience. Service is great, my water cup is always filled and they check on the table often. Today my buddy and I decided to go for some ramen. We started off with the Agedashi Tofu which had a crispy exterior and soft tofu inside. We both got the Chashu Spicy Miso Ramen. I added kimchi to my order and omitted the red ginger. I went after work on a Friday and was relieved to find the place not at all packed like I was anticipating. We got sat immediately and ordered a warm sake to get started. For food we ordered sake, (or salmon sushi), gator roll, and a waterfall roll (has mango). It was all delicious, specially the salmon sushi. It tasted so fresh! The sushi is such fresh quality, among my favorites are the Rainbow Roll, the Raptor Roll, Spicy Scallop with Crunchy Roll, and yellow tail sashimi. My 11-year-old loves the Crunchy Shrimp Roll. It is always a difficult choice whether to get sushi, or hibachi, as the hibachi dinner entrees are delicious also (particularly the shrimp and scallop entrees). Finally, their desserts are incredible. Last night we ordered fried ice cream and not only was it great but it came with a lovely holiday message! We were looking to try a new Japanese restaurant and since we hadn't been to One Loudoun in quite a while, we decided to try Okada. I think the parking situation has actually gotten worse at One Loudoun---not as bad as Reston Town Center since One Loudoun parking is free but there seems to be fewer places to park. We ended up parking the in garage which is, I think, where they want most people to park. The garage has poor sight lines and no mirrors which can make it tricky to get in and out. But I digress...on to the review. We were here around 5:30 on a Saturday night. At that time of day, the place wasn't busy but that changed as our dinner progressed. The tables were too close together. I expect that when in NYC but not here. Our server was prompt and friendly. We both had hot green tea to drink and each of us got a good sized mug plus a teapot should we want seconds. The tea was properly brewed. Take note when ordering --- if you want sushi or sashimi, it's not listed in their main menu. Instead, it's on one of those pieces of paper that lists what sushi rolls they have. It took us a while to figure that out because every time we've seen those sheets of paper elsewhere, it's just for ordering rolls. Here, the whole sushi/sashimi menu is on that piece of paper. We both ordered from the section "sushi entrees". Entrees come with miso soup and a salad. I ordered chirashi while my husband got tekka. My husband hated the salad bowls as they aren't well designed. He went for a piece of lettuce and tipped his bowl over. He only lost a piece of lettuce. After I saw what happened to him, I proceeded very carefully. The salad actually had some tomatoes in it and the dressing was a sesame one. However, the salad was waterlogged which wasn't very appetizing looking. We both thought the miso soup was good and full bodied but, again, the bowl wasn't the best so we once again proceeded very carefully. My chirashi was good. It had some mushrooms in it which I found odd. Otherwise, the expected ingredients were there---rice, assorted sashimi, some egg and daikon. It came in a much too small bowl-like plate which made eating it kind of awkward. That said, the quality of the sashimi was good. My husband felt the same about his tekka dish. He agreed that the tuna sashimi was good quality but, like me, thought the dish needed a different vessel. Overall, it was just an "A-okay" experience. We both agree that we won't go out of our way to eat here as we have some better Japanese places around that are much closer to home. That said, if you are in One Loudoun and crave sushi or sashimi, give it a try. You could do a lot worse :D read more

The downside to this restaurant was the unappetizing, constant sweeping that went on while we ate. When I requested the sweeping to stop, I received the response of "oh it has to be cleaned, it's very dirty." No I understand that the place is about to close for the night but whatever happened to excellent customer service. Okada fell short in this aspect of the dinner experience. I was surprised to walk into a sushi restaurant in the bustling One Loudoun area and see that the restaurant was pretty much empty. It kind of felt like a red flag but we sat down anyways. My litmus test for how expensive a sushi restaurant will be is usually based on the price of the miso soup - here it was $2.50 so I thought we were in for a deal. Imagine my surprise when I see a basic salmon avocado roll for $9.50! I can usually get 8 pc of this roll for $6-$8, but this roll was nearly $10 for 6 pc. That was the second red flag. We decided to split the salmon avocado roll and we each ordered our own special rolls. My mom got the American Dream roll and I got the Pink Lady roll. Luckily her roll came with 12 pc so she was pretty content with letting me have the salmon avocado roll. The Pink Lady was delicious and there were 8 pc. We both really enjoyed our rolls. We even had 4 pc left over between the both of us. We decided to shared the braised beef brisket ramen since neither of us had ever had a beef ramen, only chicken or miso. We were very disappointed to see the egg in the ramen was completely boiled through! Everyone looks forward to a nice and gooey soft boiled egg in their ramen so that was a huge bummer. The meat was overcooked, but the broth was pretty good. We sat at the bar and our server was attentive, but I would expect that to be the case since there were only 3-4 other tables occupied. I have seen other reviews about the food taking a long time to come out, but the sushi came out at a decent time and the ramen came just as we were finishing our sushi. We both said we would definitely return for the sushi, even though it is overpriced. We would not be willing to try any more of the ramen. This place has always been mediocre- but Pind was having a private event so we gave it another shot. Ordered sushi and ramen. The salmon sashimi had ice crystals and was still frozen. I politely told the waiter- who was wonderful- and the manager came over and told us their sushi is fresh and never frozen so that was impossible. This is a huge red flag. It's a federal law that any fish served raw must be flash frozen for 7 days (or less, depending on the temp, etc). So, either they're lying and their fish is frozen, as it should be- or they're telling the truth and breaking the law. (Spoiler alert: they're lying). I was really polite and took the high road and ended up paying for sashimi I didn't eat, gave our wonderful waiter a 20% tip and will warn anyone I meet to avoid a place that serves raw fish and is either dishonest or ignorant. Honestly this is my fault for giving this mediocre place another chance - go literally anywhere else. read more

I had lunch here and was not impressed overall. My son and I shared a couple of rolls like like Dragon, Spider, Dynamite and Godzilla. We even requested a Volcano roll that was not listed. They offered a sesame dressing which was fair tasting but a bit underwhelming. The dressing didn't combine all the ingredients of the salad but instead separated it. He tomato tasted completely different from the lettuce in the same sauce. I was not impressed. The Pork Goya was cold but tasted fair. The dipping sauce was by far the best part of the plate but no different from a sweetened ponzu. The pork interior pretty simple and the noodle like coating was very bland. I've made better at home from a bag. When our rolls arrived they looked amazing. The eel looked crispy, the crab crunchy and everything looked well put together. However this is where the impression ended. Everything was pretty basic and the hot rolls, dynamite and volcano, were too hot to enjoy. Literally, all you could taste was the hot sauces and mayo. Both rolls were completely different yet tasted exactly the same. Just plain spice. The server was just as mediocre as the rest of the meal. Not very attentive. Had to wait on water refills and didn't even see him most of the time. Not even when we wanted to pay. The place was not even busy. In fact I saw more staff than customers. The busboy was more attentive than the server. Unfortunately I was not impressed. The place looked like it had potential. Yet another fantastic visit. Not all sushi is the same. Every place has its own textures and flavors. When I served overseas in Japan for 4 years, sushi became my go to fir a quick bite. The flavors, delicious, the texture, incredible, the freshness, immaculate. Okada is the only place in Loudoun that even comes close to the authenticity of Japan.
