Ordered the vegetarian Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles with Chicken, and Ginger Tofu to go. Determined the Pad Thai was a bit dry for our liking and had less of a peanut taste than others I have had before. Drunken noodles were great, and I loved the spice behind them! Wish I could eat in person as that would make them all the better. Tofu was also a hit - was a bit disappointed to see it was actually fried Tofu but was still very good. Portion sizes were HUGE! Could definitely split a meal! All around decent! read more

Really tasty Thai food - I'll be coming back here again. I just *had* to try the Pad Thai after a couple of the reviews said it had a bad smell. And I'm happy to report that it's prepared (and tastes) exactly as it should - very tasty. What you smell is the Nam Pla or fish sauce - in which the 'smell' dissipates in a minute or two. Don't worry, it doesn't taste fishy at all. Reasonable prices and quick service - I wasn't a huge fan of the veggie spring rolls - it's a little sad they waste so much grated carrot as a garnish...? read more

Excellent meal, and great service. I went on a quiet Saturday, the only one in the place, and had the firecracker chicken, dumplings, and Thai iced tea. All were excellent, the chicken flavorful without being overwhelming, the dumplings moist yet cohesive (not loose and sloppy), and the iced tea was what it's supposed to be for, to offset the heat in the dishes. Pro tip: Many Thai restaurants seem to serve the same things, especially on their lunch menus. My suggestion is to skip the common entrees and try out some of the specialties particular to that restaurant. Thus the firecracker chicken from Sortrel, instead of the usual drunken noodles, pad thai, etc. And get an appetizer instead of the usual soup and spring roll, okay? Great. Yesterday was my first time going to Sortrel, and there were so many other intriguing options on the menu that I'm sure I'll be back soon. read more

The restaurant is tucked away in a corner in a nondescript shopping plaza. The restaurant (and the bathroom) was very clean and had a modern decor. The waiter was very friendly. The food was delicious and came out very fast. We ordered Penang curry and Drunken noodle, both with chicken. The Penang curry came with a side of perfectly steamed broccoli. The sauce was flavorful, but not overly salty or spicy. The sliced chicken in the Penang curry was tender and juicy. The Drunken noodle had a nice flavor, and not too greasy (It came with the ground chicken, instead of the sliced chicken). We went during the weekend, but still had the option to order our food with lunch portion and price. The total was under $20. It's a great deal. This is far from us. But if we are in the area, we will definitely stop by for a quick bite. read more

This is definitely a place where you get value for your meal (which is why I've rated 4/5). My favorites from here are the spring rolls, their dipping sauce is yummy (if you like sweet dipping sauces). Also I find myself reordering the Drunken Noodles with beef, it comes with ground meat- spicy, herby delicious! Their pad thai is also full of flavor! However, if you are looking for lots of protein, you may not get what you want. A recent favorite is their tofu appetizer. Deep fried, savory with a similar dipping sauce as the spring rolls with added peanuts in it. You've got to give it a try! read more

The food is average. The people there are very friendly and my family and I mostly do takeout from there. We know one of the girls that works there, her name is Ping. She's Thai and she is welcoming everytime we come in. The smell as soon as you walk in its very appetizing and the soup portions are very small. The food comes out pretty fast though. read more

This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The Mr and I are always wanting the food here. In fact when it's date night, the question is "Sortrel or some other place?" Highly recommend their curries (though I prefer no heat - they can totally spice it up!) and Rama chicken. Pad Thai was good, though dryer than I like. Drunken noodles are spicy! So many great choices, and the lunch special (includes salad and roll) is a great, inexpensive option. Seating is a little crammed. And more than once my husband and I wished for more privacy. I've been going to Sortrel since back when they used to be known as 4912 Thai and were located around the corner, in front of the Regal Cinema. They used to be my regular haunt whenever I had a craving for Garlic Sauce Chicken. I craved it so much that they started to know me as "That Garlic Sauce Chicken lady." Yeah, I ate there that much. The only reason I don't go as often now is I moved to Ashburn and boy, do I miss it!! Sortrel is seriously the best Thai I've ever had. My favorites by far are the spring rolls, larb, rama chicken, ginger perfect, and of course, the garlic sauce chicken. But what I love most about Sortrel is how accommodating they are. I seriously, seriously love garlic, so I'd always order my garlic sauce chicken with extra sauce and wide rice noodles, turning it into a kind of garlic chicken soup. SO good! The wait staff and chef never complained and were always more than happy to make me happy, which I sincerely appreciate. Their food is always fresh, always made to order, and I especially appreciate that they're extra careful when it comes to patrons like me with food allergies. In all the years I've eaten there, I've never once gotten sick or had an allergic reaction. That's saying something and is a true testament to the quality and cleanliness of their kitchen. Solid Thai food!! I order out from this place with my partner all the time and its consistently good! The restaurant is owned by the same people who owned 1901 by the movie theater a few years ago. We usually order take out but the restaurant is very nice inside and the servers are always extremely friendly. Our staple orders are the coconut green curry in all variations (vegetarian and meat), pad thai, garlic chicken, and ginger chicken. All are amazing! We have been to other places in the area and this is by far our favorite. The only downside is that they are slightly more expensive then other restaurants around but they are definitely worth it!!! read more

This place use to be 4912, the restaurant in front of the Countryside Regal Movie theater. I like this physical location better. When it was in front of the theater, it was a challenge finding a parking spot. It's easier to park where it is now. As far as I can tell, the menu is the same. My favorite is the Pad Thai. I go with either chicken or shrimp, depending on my mood. I also love the Rama Chicken. Even though I love Thai food, I'm not a fan of spicy food. They are happy to do a mild dish.
