The snake River Grill was delicious. Please note it is very popular so it's recommended to make a reservation. Also, I asked if the steak came as a full meal or if I needed to order a side with it. I was told it was a completed meal. That's definitely not the case. It came with a sauce and garnish. Definitely order a side. Our food was really good and this place is worth going to.

    Bison Osso Buco

Overall: I went here on a Thursday night with my girlfriend. The food was all delicious and the experience was top notch. We especially enjoyed the log cabin vibes. The service was excellent and though it was a little pricey, everything was excellent quality. I'd definitely come back, especially with a larger group so we could try some of the multi-person entrees. Food: 5 Drinks: 4 Service: 4 Value: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Food: We ordered several appetizers and sides to share as well as an entrée. Most of the portions were quite large, so this ended up being plenty of food. We ordered the Rabbit Two Ways, the Potato 'Pancake', the Glazed Sunchoke, and the Bison Osso Buco. We both thought the rabbit and potato pancake were the best dishes. The rabbit comes as both a cabbage wrapped meatball and as a tart. The meatballs were outstanding, and both dishes let the rabbit flavor come through. The potato pancake is a small cube of potato covered in a sauce and topped with some salmon. The potato was nice and crisp and complemented the other flavors. The osso buco was a little bit dry, but came with an excellent sauce and some marrow in the bone. The sunchoke dish came in another delicious sauce. Some of the larger pieces seemed a little firm for my liking, but the smaller ones were excellent. Drinks: I got the 'Burlington Coat Factory' (their take on a Manhattan) and my girlfriend got the Alpine Martini. I thought my Manhattan was well done but nothing special, but my girlfriend thought her martini was exceptional. They had several beers and cocktails as well as an extensive wine list. Most of these were priced towards the higher end, but there was still a full book for their wine list. Service: Our waitress was very helpful, especially given that we were ordering primarily from the appetizers and sides menu. She helped us narrow down our choices and choose an appropriate amount of food. We had several other servers come by to deliver food and drinks throughout the meal. Overall the service was a plus. Value: This isn't the best place for a bargain, but the food was all high end and tasted great. I thought the appetizers were pretty sizeable, but the Osso Buco wasn't the largest. The Rabbit was $18, the Potato Pancake was $23, the Sunchoke was $16, and the Osso Buco was $52. The cocktail menu ranged from $16-$19 each. Atmosphere: We had a great experience eating here. You start in a small waiting area, then are lead through a curtain to the dining room. The room is pleasant and warm and resembles a log cabin. We were seated right next to a wood burning fire, which was comfortable without being too hot or smoky.

Trash 32oz ribeye cooked by a chef in training and sourced from a farm that wanted to firesale.

My family reserved a private room to celebrate my parents 45th anniversary. Surprisingly, there are few upper echelon restaurants in Jackson Hole and Snake River Grill had good reviews. My TL;DR - The table service was excellent, the food ranged for above average to poor, but the "SERVICE" was inadequate for a restaurant at this price point. We spent $3k to be underwhelmed, and when we pointed out that a $205 steak was clearly cooked poorly and not quality, there was a comical apathy and zero interest in resolving the matter. This is clearly due to the flood of tourists that are coming in no matter what. Very disappointed, and I would not go back if it was free. Review The menu is uninspired and pedestrian. The single dish that delighted me was the crumpets. Fried chicken skin, excellent fermented hot sauce, and slaw served with a crumpet. Delicious. None of the other apps were bad, per say. But average doesn't cut it when one is charging $13 for 5 small slices of bread. The salads were also "fine". Kudos for serving a quality crudo this far inland, but a crudo with a vinaigrette and fresh greens was played out in 2020. Now? it's just sad. I was debating between the flank and NY strip, as was my wife, and the waiter suggested the 32oz Wagyu ribeye. I told him that I have sworn off large format steaks because top tier steakhouses (Hawksmoore, K Rico, Bourbon) have let me down every time. It is either over or undercooked for MR, and I can slice my own steak thank you very much. The waiter "swore" that they are different, and because I prefer a ribeye to a strip or wagyu flank, we went for it. *Also worth noting their flank was sourced from Snake River Farms, where I have bought brisket and dino ribs and shipped them to Nashville. Shipped frozen, the quality is still amongst the best I have ever smoked. The ribeye was listed as Wagyu, but no SRF sourcing or grade attached, and it showed.* I asked about the grade of the ribeye and was told A5. The ribeye was served and it was not even close to A5, and was not properly cooked. Parts of the steak were MR, but more of the steak was MW-WD. I have cooked 40oz tomahawks and you have three ways to do it right. 1. Sous vide and reverse sear. 2. Indirect heat then reverse sear. 3. Sear and oven. This was definitely not sous vide nor seared and baked. It may have been indirect heat with an attempt at a reverse sear, or grilled for the full time at a low grill temp (400). However they cooked it, the amount of grey, chewy meat was shocking. The fat was overwhelming, and not the tasty fat that makes me love ribeyes - chewy and not rendered at all. There is zero chance that the ribeye was A5. It was A, B, C 1 or 2. Bad steaks happen. When we were asked by our waiter what we thought, we were very polite but honest. The quality of the meat was disappointing as was the cook. And pre-sliced is something we didn't want. He said he understood and would talk to his chef. He returned a few minutes later and said that "chef appreciates your recommendations" and walked away. I waited on tables for 10 years and I know this guy is in an impossible situation. I even went as far as to say "I know you didn't cook it", but made it clear that it was sub par. It was never addressed after that. No manager, no chef, no offer to make it right. 16 of us paid $750 to rent a room, had ordered 20 cocktails and bottles of a great Chateau-neuf-du-pape, an app and or salad per person, and 12 steaks. This clearly wasn't an attempt to chew and screw. For what it's worth, we paid chef Scott Nechay to come to our house and cook 4 out of the 7 nights, and the night after this debacle was steak night. He cooked piedmontese strips and it was so superior to the ribeye and the strips we had at Snake River Grill, we regretted going there. Unless you are in a pinch, I would avoid it. And definitely avoid the 32oz Ribeye.

This place was nice. The tacos were decent but I live in California and am pretty picky. The green salsa that came with it was real good. We sat outside and the vibes were great. The waiters were friendly too.

You need reservations for Snake River Grill. They have a waitlist and notify options. The "grill" is an interesting term with the fine dining $50-$100 restaurant. They have limited options if you don't like steak. The service and atmosphere were great, on par with the prices. Smoked Yellowstone Crumpets were amazing but three out of six were raw. We probably should have said something but the first ones eaten were fully cooked. The pickled onion herb, fried chicken, and hot sauce were 5/5 in taste. The duck was very good! Not as good as the crumpets though. $44 The halibut was more than underwhelming, given the places reputation and the crumpets. The sauce was okay. The fish was more crispy than flaky. The sides to it didn't add to the flavor. I tried to eat it but could only eat 40% of it before I didn't want to eat more. I told them it wasn't my favorite. It would have been fine for $20 but not $44. They nicely comped it. It is probably worth going to again.

    Steak tartare pizza

Was afraid this place would be overhyped but pleasantly surprised by the food and service here. Ordered a couple drinks, a few apps, and dessert. Potato pancake: a classic pairing, and executed very well. Perfectly crispy potato with smoked salmon & sour cream. Steak tartare pizza: a must get. Salty, bright, and garlicky. They don't allow you to take leftovers home, but we finished it easily. Foie Gras mousse: I would skip next time, but this was my first time trying foie gras, so I'm not blaming the restaurant. Eskimo bars: Lighter than expected and delicious! Dark chocolate, vanilla ice cream, and a brownie base. Service: Excellent- the service was attentive, friendly, and professional. A lovely upscale experience.

My husband and I went for dinner and enjoyed our experience very much. We started with the turnip cakes and the mushroom dumplings. The turnip cake was my favorite - the garlicky, yogurty sauce was so flavorful! For entrees, my husband had the eggplant and I had the halibut. The eggplant was perfectly seasoned with the saffron adding a delicious unique flavor. The halibut was a wonderful texture and accompanied by fresh cherry tomatoes! We then continued with the two chocolatey desserts on the menu - the Eskimo bars, which are like mini chocolate covered ice cream with caramel sauce, and the dark chocolate custard, which is what it sounds like. For chocolate fans, we love both desserts and couldn't have enough of them! Overall - wonderful experience. This restaurant is worth the hype!

Came back, while on vacation in Jackson hole, and had a "less than last time" experience. It was a Tuesday night and it was busy but not packed with lines like last time. Our server was just ok. She was friendly enough, but not overly attentive. Nothing to write home about. Started with espresso martinis and they are delicious. Our table had the Caesar salad, the Flank steak, the lamb pasta, the steak tartar, the salmon potato pancake, spaghetti cacio e Pepe, the foie gras. The steak tartar pizza was the star of the show and the best thing we got. Delicious and would order again. Note- they will not let you take leftovers home due to it being raw. ** wish they would disclose this at time of ordering The salmon pancakes were also very good. Staging was a bit odd to me. Everything else was just "ok". Nothing spectacular. I missed the onion rings this time. They were not on the menu. We got the Eskimo bars for dessert because they were spectacular last time and I couldn't wait to indulge in them again. This time they were lackluster. Still a good spot, but for the price and underwhelming experience this round I would try another place before returning.

Located in the center of Jackson just above the Overland store. I booked a table on open table and the reservation was for 7:30 , but received a call saying they expected me at 5:30? So somewhere there was a disconnect. We were put on a wait list and wait we did - about an hour and a half. Once we were seated I was impressed by the rustic feel all around. The server was busy and gave us average attention - as expected for a Friday night. We waited a bit for our wine to arrive. The list is attached in the photos. Nice selection, some popular choices and some somewhat obscure- but overall a lengthy list. The menu seems rather small in comparison. Also attached below. The food was nicely prepared and served properly. Though she cleared my dish before my guests were done which is always irritating to me. I'll go back and give it another go and hope for for better service.

Highly recommend booking your reservation for dinner! 5+ stars for the food, service and rustic elegant ambience. Highlights: Potato pancakes - wow, we were surprised how good these were! Truffle fries: light and crisp shoestring fries Root Vegetable Chowder: if you like parsnips and earthy root veggie flavors, it's great. If not, then skip it. (daughter and hubby didn't like it.) Fettucine: tender fresh pasta with ragu nice comfort dish. Scallops: cooked well. they were a bit salty and they prepared it again and much better. Almond cake: seasonal dessert was delicious and gluten free too! Lemon cheesecake: not traditional. was tasty and light. Service: impeccable timing of food service, cleared dishes promptly, server was pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful. Glad our friends recommended Snake River Grill! Service from entire staff was professional, attentive and also l

TLDR: Jackson Hole has so much good food, and yet this place proved once again why it's my favorite restaurant in the area. Come here for innovative classics and some upscale options as well, all within a cozy, cabin-like setting. If you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, etc, they make it really special for you. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] Ora King Salmon (5/5) - Such a beautiful dish that was both simple and complex at the same time. Fish melted in my mouth, sauce was a great pairing, loved the extra elements of squash, ham, persimmon. 2. [MUST TRY] Crispy Pork Belly (5/5) - LOVE. I get pork belly all the time but never like this. It was absolutely decadent to enjoy it with a perfectly soft boiled egg with the acidity of the kimchi "soup" cutting through the fat. 3. Curry-Spiced Cashews (5/5) - Not on the menu, they just give it to everyone who dines there, similar to traditional bread service. These are addictingly good. Medium-strong curry flavor with a hint of sweetness -- very unique and a great start to the meal. 4. Root Vegetable Chowder (5/5) - Delicious, creamy soup that is filling and comforting. 6. Caesar Salad (4/5) - You can opt to have anchovies or not with this caesar (the anchovy taste is strong if you opt in) and the croutons are ground up and sprinkled on the full romaine leaves, so you can't avoid them if you wanted to. Heavy on the dressing. It's a really good caesar but it was just a tad too much for me personally. 7. Foie Gras Torchon (4/5) - This is a 4/5 only if you like foie gras. If you don't or if you don't like things with a VERY strong taste profile, then I would not recommend this. But if you do like foie gras, this place does it wonderfully with the sweetness from the banana bread and puree. Looked beautiful too. 8. Iberico Pork Chop (3.5/5) - The flavor of this dish was incredible especially if you would like the tangy-ness of mustard butter (I don't love mustard but it did work in this dish). I also really liked the touch of the spaetzle (kind of like pasta). Unfortunately, the pork was really tough to chew through. Seared Scallops and Endive Salad were also ordered by others in our group and they were rated very highly, but I didn't personally try them so haven't included them here. The focaccia was incredible last year and though we didn't get it this year, the couple next to us re-affirmed it was amazing. ------ SERVICE: * There was a birthday and even though we didn't order dessert, they brought out a beautifully arranged plate with the words "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate surrounding a scoop of vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and a candle. We celebrated a birthday here last year and they similarly made it really special for us. * Wonderful service, even at the bar * They brought out all of our dishes together and surprisingly quickly for each course * The bartenders were just really kind and would make jokes. They were also really attentive and accommodating ------ ENVIRONMENT: * Large interior with multiple different dining spaces * Small bar area that's actually pretty comfortable to sit at with a small group * Felt like a cozy, upscale mountain cabin * A little harder to find this restaurant if it's your first time, but you essentially once you arrive at that block, you have to find stairs or the elevator to take you up to the second floor of that complex. You'll see a big sign for Snake River Grill

Snake river grill is simply divine! Our meal was outstanding. Bourbon cocktail and the Paloma mocktail were delicious. The homemade rolls were some of the best rolls I've ever had. Amazing Caesar salad. Fabulous entrees (duck and bison ribeye), and the carrots were oh so good! Wonderful service and ambiance too. If I make it back to Jackson, I'll definitely be returning!

The fried chicken pasta was delicious - the chicken was sooo juicy. The truffle pasta was also really good. Matt works at the bar, and he made the whole experience even better. There wasn't a hostess when we walked in, but he noticed us and got us seated. We also ate at the bar another night and noticed how much he genuinely goes out of his way for everyone. Even if he's not your server, he makes sure you're taken care of. He handles negative situations really well too, even when things like food delays aren't his fault. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

The menu options included a rich selection of pastas, proteins, and vegetables, each intentionally crafted to create the perfect bite. The restaurant itself almost seemed to betray its culinary elegance with an aire of western saloon styling. Yet, the contrast dissolved upon the immersion into the menu. We had three "Per la Travola" and "Antipasti" followed by a few Primi and Secondi. The crostini was a perfectly toasted slice of baguette with a pillow of sweet and nutty ricotta. Amazing! From the "Primi" selections, the Casarecce was perfection. The dish had just the right mixture of crunch to accentuate the delicate firmness of the pasta, and the boldness of the pesto. Other standout dishes were the grilled rabbit leg, and grilled cabbage. Both quite unique, and remarkable. However, the highlight of the night, in my humble opinion, was the Fusilli Gigante, and the Grilled Broccolini. The later came with a spicy Calabrian aioli, which was wonderful. In terms of drink, their specialty old-fashioned equivalent contained a nice local sage flourish that really added to each sip. And of course no proper dining experience would be complete without a dessert... the tiramisu and affogato left us all quite satisfied. Can't recommend enough. Most of the menu choices were meat and the scallops were unavailable that night. Overall, the menu seemed pretentious, and the food overpriced for the limited effort it seemingly took to prepare.

Honestly, we couldn't recommend this more highly. They just changed the menu. We started with the…read morewatermelon salad and it was absolutely phenomenal. We had the miso cod, the short rib, and the scallops and they were all phenomenal dishes. Very nicely cooked, wonderful flavors. The portion of the cod and the short rib was very generous, the scallops was a little lighter, but still so lovely! We would come back here again in a heartbeat, and the ambience and service was very nice as well.

I've been coming to Jackson Hole for over 20 years, and The Wild Sage is now my favorite restaurant…read morein town. Taking advice from a local, we decided to try something new and were so impressed that halfway through our first meal, we promptly booked a second night. The atmosphere is chic but warm, with personable staff and an ambitious chef and team. Our server Chris took excellent care of us both nights, remembering us, demonstrating a deep knowledge of the menu, and offering thoughtful suggestions. Over the course of two evenings, we also met Chef Hugo and Matt, the General Manager. The French-leaning menu is driven by local ingredients with an emphasis on quality and sourcing. The cocktails are innovative, and we appreciated the sommelier's advice on wine pairings. For entrees, we especially enjoyed the bison and venison that showcased the wild game with creative but restrained accompaniments. For smaller plates, we also recommend the quail, beef tartare, red cabbage, and parsnip soup. All the elements on the plate -- proteins, grains, produce, and sauces -- were deliberate and properly cooked and seasoned. Several dishes would feel at home on the menus of critically acclaimed restaurants. We're impressed by what Chef Hugo and his team are creating and will look forward to returning when we come back through town.

Went out to Jackson hole for a quick winter getaway. I've been there several times in the summer,…read morebut not in the winter. Took a special friend and stayed at the Rusty Paratte Lodge and spa, which by the way was spectacular! Made a reservation for the first night at wild Sage thinking it was easy spot and looked pretty good. It was also our first night with a late afternoon arrival and an hour and a half Massage so I wasn't in the mood to be walking around town in the cold. Boy were we impressed. From the initial pallet cleanser, to the appetizers, to the pre-meal, to the mail, to the dessert essentially every bite was incredible. Only negative comment would' be that the Seabass came out a little bit dry from the kitchen. Looked incredible but tasted dry. The service was spectacular. Wonderful gentleman who helped make our evening memorable. And their wine smaller was equally as personable. Turns out they had a seven course tasting dinner two nights later for Valentine's Day. We immediately canceled our existing reservation and rebooked for Wild Sage. Two nights later, during their tasting event, which came with wine pairings for each of the seven courses, we had the Chef stop by our table several times. Good looking young 40-year-old chef who knew his menu and the ingredients backwards and forwards. He had hand selected and sourced every ingredient from sustainable sourced resources. He had really gone out of his way to make it a special meal for everybody, all seven courses. When in Jackson hole, if you're looking for best class environment, food and service the wild sage is your best choice. Hands-down. Oh, and they have a killer sit-up bar area, which had that fun local vibe, and served absolutely the best hamburger in town. 5 stars. Enjoy!
