Our tour stopped off in Jackson for lunch and rest stopped and we happen chanced upon this place while walking around town. I had the cop salad with steak, which was actually quite delicious and surprisingly filling. The salad had a little bit of spice kick to it, which I really liked. My son had the chicken fingers from the children's venue and even that was quite plentiful for him as a five-year-old I really enjoy this place. I went to Roosevelt's for lunch with a few friends. The restaurant which sits just off The Square is an elevated casual restaurant with a rustic, modern atmosphere. I ordered the Taft Smashburger which comes with two local beef patties, topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles and caramelized onions all served on a brioche bun. I ordered truffle fries on the side which I didn't think were so amazing. They were a little bit soggy and they just weren't hot and crisp in the way I was yearning for at that time. Roosevelts is just off of the main town square, so generally walkable if you're roaming around town. We came for lunch and it did NOT disappoint. The onion rings (aka the Roosevelt Tower) are some of the biggest and best onion rings I've ever had, so either split it amongst a large group or plan to take them home. Regardless, they are a must. For mains, we got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and Kermit's BLT with chicken. We both got our mains with fries (which was the recommendation of our waiter). This is a nice restaurant right in the heart of town; there isn't much street parking and you will have to park a block away in a public city parking lot, the walk isn't far thankfully. Would have liked another but it was just too much of an inconvenience to wait for another tiny cup. They serve you room temperature water at the start. Also served in small whiskey glasses. Really? One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in years. We had a reservation at Roosevelt's and somehow ended up being seated in a separate room where a private party was literally giving speeches and toasts. It was just the private party and us, and our table was awkwardly positioned in a walkway. It was so uncomfortable and bizarre that we genuinely couldn't understand how anyone on staff thought this was an acceptable place to seat paying dinner guests with a reservation. We politely asked to move tables and were told that wouldn't be a problem. Then... nothing. We sat there waiting while no one came back to move us. Eventually I went to speak with the manager myself. This was probably the most disappointing part of the entire experience. There was essentially no apology, no meaningful attempt to fix the situation, and no sense that he cared. His response was basically that it was a busy summer night. That would already be a weak excuse, but it was especially ridiculous considering we had a reservation and could see other available tables. Then there was the food. Unfortunately, it was bad enough that we barely ate. So now we were sitting in an absurd seating situation, receiving poor management response, and the food wasn't even remotely making up for it. The only person who deserves any credit here was our server. She was incredibly kind, genuinely apologetic, and seemed embarrassed by the situation herself. She ultimately took care of our meal because of how poorly everything had gone. We honestly felt worse for her than anything because she showed far more concern for our experience than management did. What really blew my mind was hearing from her that they've received similar feedback about situations like this before. If management already knows guests are having these kinds of experiences and continues allowing it to happen, that says a lot. Jackson has plenty of restaurants competing for your time and money. There is absolutely no reason to spend an evening at a place where a reservation apparently doesn't guarantee you a normal table, management can't be bothered to meaningfully address an obviously bad situation, and the food is mediocre on top of everything else. We left hungry, frustrated, and genuinely stunned by how poorly the entire evening was handled. I would not recommend Roosevelt's to anyone, and we absolutely will not be back. read more

The bartender was also our server- he was personable when he was around, but he spent most of his time chatting with a couple at the bar instead of checking on tables. The spinach dip was tasty but barely warm by the time it reached us, since it sat in the window for quite a while. I ordered the salad, and the chicken on it was so dry it was inedible - like sawdust. When the server finally returned (only to drop off the check), I showed him the chicken and let him know, but his response was simply, "thanks for letting us know." After a week of tent camping through Yellowstone and Tetons, we came to Jackson for our last night to enjoy a cabin, fresh shower, laundromat, and a nice meal for my birthday (39). As a family of 5, two adults and three boys. I booked a reservation on open table for 6:15pm, and commented for birthday. The city was vibrant and busy with people for a Friday evening in August. We arrived to a clean, modern, tasteful aesthetic that is good for new American fare. Loved the decor of Roosevelt history (in a modern style). Our server was kind and welcoming, and helped take the order for the boys right away. We enjoyed kids burgers, kids Mac n cheese (homemade), Prime rib cheesesteak Sammie and truffle fries, and the ragu (it was delicious). Food was fast, served fresh, and tasty. My only complaint was the kids Mac n cheese is not served with a side and the same price as the other kids meals (cheeseburger and fries). $12 no drink included and no side. Also for noting that it was my birthday on the reservation, it was not even mentioned. Middle of the Road -- Not Sure What the Hype Is About It's unclear to me why certain restaurants get so much hype, and Roosevelts is one of them. It's not terrible by any means, but it's far from memorable. Overall, it's cute -- but that's about it. The food was solidly average. My daughter enjoyed her burger, but my salmon was both uninspired in flavor and plated in a way that felt outdated -- more 1980s banquet than modern bistro. Unappealing and underwhelming. My husband liked his Sagamore Hill Roast Chicken & Goat Cheese Salad, but again, it wasn't anything special -- definitely not the kind of meal that matches the buzz this place gets. The atmosphere was busy and touristy. Our server was friendly, but we were given the check before we even finished eating. Another staff member swooped in and started clearing plates while we were still sitting -- it felt rushed and borderline chaotic. To top it off, the prices are unreasonably high for what you get. For that kind of bill, you'd expect something more refined -- in both food and service. We started with the pretzel bites, and let me tell you, the house mustard was exceptional--far from your average condiment. It's the best we've ever had! You must try it for yourself; it's truly unique. I paired the meal with a Grand Teton Old Faithful Ale, which was just perfect. For the main course, we went with the Snake River Farms NY strip (supporting local!) and the Cowboy Carbonara. Both dishes were fantastic. We even had a great chat with the manager, who mentioned that the restaurant has only been open for four months. Also got a side salad which was good. Fries were good as well. Loved Roosevelts! My daughter enjoyed the pretzel bites and I loved every bite of the margarita pizza. The beers are fantastic too! We have conservationist Teddy Roosevelt to thank for our wonderful experience to the nearby National Parks because he established the National Park, Forest, game preserves and much more as President. My only complaint was the cornbread croutons were made with sweet cornbread, and I'm a savory cornbread fan-but that's a personal preference.
