We stopped by Sidewinders American Grill one day when we were craving cozy, good, American-style food, and it absolutely delivered. The space is fun and inviting--aviation and sports-themed, with a separate arcade room for kids (impressively, we didn't hear a peep). It strikes a great balance between lively and comfortable. Service was excellent--Jordan was lovely and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The food and drinks were exactly what we were looking for. $5 draft beers were a great surprise, and the Cobb salad (with added salmon) was fresh and really well done. The pizzas coming out looked incredible as well. In a town where many places were closed for the shoulder season, this felt like a bit of a hidden gem. We'd absolutely return. I went to Sidewinders in Wilson and ordered the Fish and Chips. I thought they were very good. I would definitely order again. The fish tasted fresh and was not heavy. Service was attentive, food was average, atmosphere fun and different. Decorated in an aviation theme, lots of things like flight suits, model airplanes, and fighter pilot helmets and uniforms, it adds to the feel of patriotism. Not sure it fits with the surroundings of national parks and wildlife but works nonetheless. From a positive standpoint, lots of seating, play area outside kept the kids busy, and the menu had something for everyone. Good selection of local craft beers as well. read more

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon around 4:30p. The place was not very busy. It has a Top Gun vibe. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with fries and Mac and Cheese. Sadly, all were subpar. The chicken was flat as pancake and was not spicy. It was overly fried, which made it very dry. The other was a quarter size of the bun. The slaw and Mac and Cheese were bland. Sadly, we left feeling unsatisfied. It was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives so maybe we should have stuck to the highlighted items. We are visiting from out of state. We come to Jackson 3 times a yr. We have eaten at the one in town several times. No complaints We decided to try Wilson. What a disappointment. Cheese squares were ok but not that hot. The waiter came over to check on us then came over while we were taking the last bits of the app. He stood there until we were done then took the plate. Strange. Then the waiter brought my salad right before our food. Everything come out so fast that I felt rushed. I made the comment to husband after they brought out food that I felt they just spooned in all the ingredients out of a box and stuck it in the microwave for 1 min. The chicken fettuccine was horrible cold no taste. And the sauce was so thick (canned) we had said in conversation that it was my husband's birthday. No big deal. We swing by for a quick buy pizza with the kids and can't believe we haven't done this sooner. Our server was amazing. The food came out quickly and it tastes great. I wish we had a shot of the cheese pole and the pepperoni was legit. Love the atmosphere as well. We will definitely be back again soon. read more

The food was good and not at all busy when we walked in. I think only the bar was occupied. Our secret greeted us quickly and the host at the door told us about the new pizza menu. Phenomenal! Our server was non-existent, though. He took our order and delivered food, but never checked on us and never offered regular until we were on our way out. With a four hour drive ahead of us, we opted not to drink, but we were definitely ignored. Being Active military, I chose this establishment on purpose and will likely return again. Always a good time! This local watering hole is conveniently located half way from Teton Village (ski area) to WY22. Decent apres-ski menu from 3-6 and always friendly bartenders and service staff. Had the loaded grilled beef nachos and the artichoke dip which were both delicious. They offer a great selection of beers on tap and all the favorite liquors ready to go. The margaritas are tasty. We had 1942 "shots" and the shot pours are impressive 3oz pours and the price is right! Great spot to watch your favorite game. Food was terrible but wait staff was very nice ... it's the only reason for 2 stars I ordered the prime rib French dip ...the meat was flavorless and chewy and the caramelized onions were ice cold , like straight from the fridge. I went in to support my VA's and thank them for their service by being a patron at their business. I have a lot of respect for the men and women who have served this country. The entrance is nicely decorated and has a lovely memorial table set up for POW's and MIA's. The service, however, is EXCRUCIATING. I heard the Bartendress mention multiple times to multiple people that she is referenced as "the show pony". She is in the wrong entertainment industry. I could have received faster service with a Kiosk or AI. I would have more respect for this restaurant/bar if they hired service men and women who understand a code of conduct and behavior. She seemed less interested in restaurant/bar service and more interested in gossip and showboating. The food was ok. I had to ask her to order and almost left because I waited so long for her to return and take my order. I had to ask for all the service I received, as most of her attention was going to the male patrons. When I paid my tab I wondered what I was tipping her for at the end of my experience. Affordable, great service and a short walk from the Fireside resort. Great stop along the bike path, as well. The BBQ salad loaded with avocado, shoestring onions and fresh greens was really good although heavy on the dressing. They had tvs going with the NFL game and the sound pumping through speakers throughout the restaurant. We had the grilled cheese and a French dip. Both were very good. We chose Sidewinders because it was the #1 restaurant in the Jackson / Wilson area. How it earned that is beyond comprehension. Upon arrival, we told it was a 20 minute wait. Fine. There were loads of empty tables, but perhaps they didn't have the service staff to fill every table. Fine. Our host took our details. After a while, groups who arrived after us were seated. A quick check revealed he had lost our request, and despite standing 6 feet in front of him the entire time, he had no clue. Who knows who he thought we were. We get a table. Had to ask for water. Order 3 beers. After a long wait, we could see our beers on the bar. Our server brings one over, then proceeds to settle the check for another table, bring takeaway containers for a third table, then bring our remaining two beers. Who does that? Food. I had the elote salad with fried chicken. The salad was inoffensive, but the chicken wasn't fried, it was cremated. And had been in the warmer since Christmas (we're now in August), but was turned off in June. Cold and inedible. That said, my friends did enjoy their burger & chicken pie. This was the poorest salad I've had in a while. It had a lot of ribs and they were turning red on the ends. The chicken I ordered on it was ok but cold and dry which tells me it was precooked. The croutons were not good they were too big and not seasoned well. The wings I ordered were decent. The server was ok but could have checked back more. I was really hangry from a long day of driving and being in Yellowstone Park all day. The chicken pot pie was exactly what I needed! Super amazing comfort food! Put our name in for a table wait, a 45 minutes for a party of four. So we decide to get a drink at the bar which is only half full around the bar and a few tables but when you walk in and you just see someone who hates their job and it spews it from there aura, we got the that from the female bartender, she didn't want to serve anybody and gave people at the bar her attitude! Since we were sitting at a share table , she had so much attitude and how she couldn't help anybody because she was overwhelmed that she announced that to the bar area! Then the service manager for that area came over to tell us it would be a while but instead of doing his job and collecting the drink orders and bringing them to us he walks off to do more usless things! Surprisingly pleasant! Stopped in here after 14 hours of driving thru Yellowstone & grand Teton. We arrived at 9pm, they close at 9:30. There was 0 hesitation to seat us, even though the place was closing. We were seated immediately and the server quickly brought us waters. We knew what we wanted so I know that helped the process. Chips salsa & guac. Guac was made in house very clearly but could have used a little more salt/seasoning. Kids chicken tenders tasted fresh & were not covered in a ridiculous amount of breading. Bison chili was good minus Fritos, salads were very large, ranch tasted homemade. Only negative was the bbq ranch didn't taste good, potentially gone bad or just not a great flavor but hard to tell. Chicken could have some better flavor but decent. Well priced, servers were attentive & got us in and out in a very quick 35 mins which was so appreciated! read more

After a hike, we popped in to check out the new Sidewinders. I was in the mood for a burger. The Bison burger came well done. It wasn't a big juicy burger like I was hoping for and in hindsight, I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked and I didn't say, so I guess that's my fault. It was a pretty thin patty. I ordered the beer battered fries as my side. They were good. I did feel like they were very salty. I also had the Snake River Brewing seasonal beer. It was light. I'm used to an IPA, so it was more of a hydration thing, haha, although I did feel the alcohol. It was a slow day, not many people there. I don't know why we weren't seated in the main area, but rather towards the back of the restaurant where there is zero ambiance.
