Drinks and Sloshies
Laura P.

My seat neighbor on my flight to Jackson, WY said the best burger in the area was at a gas station in nearby Wilson. The problem was she couldn't remember the name of the burger spot! I'm always up for a challenge, and hubs and I were starving so off we went. It wasn't difficult to find - just look for the cars at an Exxon gas station! Please note the Sidecar restaurant is located inside Basecamp provisions/convenience store. It's counter ordering, and they'll call your name when your order is ready. There's one high top 10 seat table inside and deck dining with picnic tables outside. Clean up after yourself and take your trays to the labeled "Bus Bins". I took the advice of my neighboring seat mate and ordered the Sidecar burger- the only one on the menu. This double patty burger with their in house Comeback sauce, melty American cheese, lettuce and pickles on a fresh bun was messy and delicious! Their skin on fries were piping hot and crispy, too! Their menu is limited to several sandwiches and salads. They also have Sloshies which are alcoholic slushies for those not familiar with this new icy cocktail. I look forward to returning!

Chicken Sandwich with homemade potato chips and a watermelon grapefruit sloshie

When I heard we were getting lunch from a gas station, I didn't know what to expect but it might have been one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! I'm a very indecisive person and the guy at the front gave his recommendations on what I should get and I was not let down. There are a few seats inside and more outside and very clean. I will definitely be back in the future!

Daily house-ground beef for your burger. Eat here if you want to eat well and support the real food movement.

Great hidden gem! Wouldn't think to stop here if it weren't for the yelp reviews. An awesome lunch after being out in side by sides all day.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner…read more Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

With so many strong restaurants in Jackson, this one didn't stand out as one we would revisit…read more Our server was lovely--friendly, attentive, and clearly doing their best. Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)
