Great pastries, customer service is why I rated a 1 star...visited this bakery 3x within 2 days and was treated with disdain.

I perused the merch and the pastry case. I love that they call muffins "cupcakes", because really they are. I settled on ordering a hot almond milk latte and a drip coffee for my hubby. I know this is mountain town and things aren't as rushed as they are in the city, so I intended to wait. However, it took a good 3-4nin of me standing alone at the counter before anyone acknowledged me to take my order. After ordering I took a seat outside to wait for my latte. I waited, and waited. Thinking they called my name and I missed it, I headed indoors to check. Nope. They were finally calling the name of the couple who was seated outside when I arrived! Four or five minutes later they called the woman who was in line before me. There was another girl who walked in after me and was pacing, she finally asked about her mobile order she had placed 20min prior, they had no record of it, so they began making hers. I waited some more. When my latte was FINALLY ready it was placed on a counter & my name called. No "sorry for the wait". I grabbed it and booted out the door so we could get on the road. The drip coffee & latte were fine, but definitely not worth the wait. With so many other coffee shops steps away, we opted to visit the others for the remainder if our trip.

Meal prices are about what you would expect for Jackson... overpriced for eggs and pastries. People rave about the "pig candy" which is 4 pieces of candied bacon they give you for $16. It was good and crisp, but so sugared that you honestly can't really taste the bacon part of it. I got the egg platter with sausage. The bread and sausage were great. Really nice quality. My daughter got Eggs Benedict which she also liked. They keep your coffee full. There is also a bar to eat at if you are solo and are looking for that option.

Cafe Genevieve does them very well. The biscuits were light and fluffy. The gravy was rich and flavorful with a plentiful amounts of sausage. The eggs done over medium were also good. A bowl of fruit was ordered with fresh blueberries and ripe strawberries. Again, a generous amount. Cafe Genevieve has a staff that hustles. The food is done well and the portion sizes are large. The costs are a bit high with an average spend of $25 to $35 pp not including a morning cocktail for a basic breakfast. If you are hungry, stop by Cafe Genevieve for a solid breakfast.

Their espresso is smooth and well balanced, and you can tell they know what they're doing. The shop has a warm, welcoming feel with plenty of seating both inside and outside. They also have a nice selection of pastries including these massive donuts and breakfast options if you're looking for a quick bite. They also sell their freshly roasted beans and cool merchandise like coffee mugs. Definitely worth stopping if you're looking for quality coffee while visiting Jackson.

They're $12 now and still a deal for Jackson.... ...it is a gut bomb of a solid breakfast. Grab one in the morning and head up to the hill. Don't waste your time sitting down in a restaurant and spending $30 on a breakfast or getting an $18 croissant sandwich that doesn't fill you up. This is the deal. We got one spicy and one regular breakfast meat burrito on this trip. I think the only difference was the "spicy" had jalapenos in it. They weren't that spicy. They offer you a spicy sauce on the side for $1 which was a mayonnaise based hot sauce. More creamy than spicy. I'd see if they still have hot sauce on the counter like they use to and add it to your burrito if you want to kick it up.
