Ambiance

My coffee was delicious! The ambiance was super cozy! The barista was super sweet!! The person taking my order was nice too just super quiet and not as friendly but it's okay! Coffee was great!

I hope this place makes it. Seems to be a popular coffee social meeting spot in downtown Jackson. I ordered the Beef and White Ceddar Sandwich...460 Bread Ciabatta, Roast Beef, White Cheddar, housemade Horseradish-Mayo, Arugula, Fried Onion. I requested extra mayo, or a side of it. Not sure if the counter guy didnt understand what I requested, or the kitchen blew it. Sandwich barely had mayo (bottom), and I couldn't tell there was any fried onion on it. OHH...there are some on the bottom...barely. Sandwich had no side or garnish. Although it was a dry AF sandwich, it tasted good...after I asked again for a side of mayo. Sandwich $15.75 before gratuity.

Basic breakfast

Employees here are quite rude here. You would also think at a sit down place they would have enough silverware Food was good but the bad service outweighed for me and my family not return

Flat white, carrot cake, egg sandwich

This was the best carrot cake I've ever had (soooo good I had to order 2) - exactly how you imagine the perfect carrot cake should be! Soft, moist layers, silky cream, and the perfect balance of flavors. The coffee and service were just as amazing.

iced matcha latte with whole milk!

Just went here for a matcha, and it's one of the best ones I've had! Plus the vibe there is super cool, and the service is really nice. One of my favorite new matcha/coffee stops!

Huckleberry puree in americano - This was a very refreshing combination in coffee. I would get it again! Caramel latte - a good latte. Cheddar scallion biscuit - wow, this one is delicious and such a buttery savory choice! Croissant - buttery and flaky. Strawberry Rhubarb croissant - the acid and sweetness goes so well with the buttery flaky pastry. Morning Glory muffin - almost like a bran muffin, a nutritious pick. We would definitely come back in the future.

Space was limited so we elected to grab and go. A glass case displaying the baked good let you know that the selection of treats is vast. A blueberry and carrot cake type muffins were ordered from a middle age lady with a snippet attitude. Customer service is not one of her strong suits. The large muffins were packed with flavor and not over-sweet. The base of BOTH muffins were over-cooked, dry and stuck to the bottom wrapper. Persephone Bakery makes a large variety of good tasting baked goods. The dry and overcooked base sometimes happens. It was just a lack of attention at a vital step during the process. I hope you give Persephone Bakery a chance as they do know know about tasty treats. Perhaps the lady at the counter can find a job that better suits her snotty attitude.

Absolutely horrendous service paired with below average food…read more I walked in and ordered two burritos a veggie burrito for me and a meat burrito for my boyfriend. I also ordered a matcha latte. There was no warning that their matcha is already heavily pre sweetened, so I asked for lavender syrup and oat milk. When we finally received our drinks and I took a sip on my way out, it was genuinely one of the worst matcha drinks I've ever had. It tasted like straight sugar water with an overwhelming amount of lavender. Completely undrinkable. I immediately went back inside to see if it could be fixed since I was not going to drink it. I waited politely while the barista finished what she was doing. She looked up at me with visible confusion, so I explained that I didn't realize the matcha was pre sweetened and that adding lavender made it far too sweet. She did not say a single word. Instead, she gave me a judgmental look, smirked, and glanced around as if looking for a reaction from others. Without acknowledging me, she started remaking the drink very quickly and sloppily, clearly annoyed. When she reached for whole milk, I reminded her I had asked for oat milk, which was met with another look of irritation. She finished the drink, slammed it on the counter without a word, and continued to glare. I still said thank you and left. Once we got to the car and opened our burritos, we realized both the meat and veggie burritos were wrapped identically with no markings. My boyfriend had to bite into both to figure out which was which. The veggie burrito I received was extremely mushy and unappetizing, and I lost my appetite immediately. Between the rude, dismissive service and the poorly executed food, this place was a complete disappointment. I will not be returning.

Meal prices are about what you would expect for Jackson... overpriced for eggs and pastries. People rave about the "pig candy" which is 4 pieces of candied bacon they give you for $16. It was good and crisp, but so sugared that you honestly can't really taste the bacon part of it. I got the egg platter with sausage. The bread and sausage were great. Really nice quality. My daughter got Eggs Benedict which she also liked. They keep your coffee full. There is also a bar to eat at if you are solo and are looking for that option.

Cafe Genevieve does them very well. The biscuits were light and fluffy. The gravy was rich and flavorful with a plentiful amounts of sausage. The eggs done over medium were also good. A bowl of fruit was ordered with fresh blueberries and ripe strawberries. Again, a generous amount. Cafe Genevieve has a staff that hustles. The food is done well and the portion sizes are large. The costs are a bit high with an average spend of $25 to $35 pp not including a morning cocktail for a basic breakfast. If you are hungry, stop by Cafe Genevieve for a solid breakfast.

This place is a little understated from the outside. You think it is going to just be a smoothie…read moreplace but they have a full menu with breakfast sandwiches, burrito, smoothies, coffee, etc. I thought it was excellent and a little more approachable then Persephone next door (I don't know why, go in both and see for yourself). We got a breakfast burrito and some sort of super smoothie bowl (I forget what it was called). The burrito was excellent. We did not get meat in it because we were not super hungry, but it did not need it. Great flavor. The burrito came with some fruit and such. I'd say it was medium size. It would not fill up a big appetite (go to D.O.G. for that) but I was not disappointed. The smoothie bowl was also excellent. It'd go back here again for sure. We asked them to split the smoothie bowl in two for us so we could each share the burrito and the smoothie. They happily did this. We got things to go, but they have an array of counter and table seating to choose from. We liked it. Prices were Jackson high. So, more than you want to pay but if you can get free coffee at your hotel than it wasn't too bad.

Okay, 5/5 for ambiance and service. It's a very cute spot with great indoor and outdoor seating…read more Cashier was so kind and had the loveliest demeanor. 3-4/5 for food and drinks. I got a gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip muffin for $7 before tip the first day, and it was so good. Very moist and great flavor and held together well (which can be hard with GF.) and $7 is steep but it was pretty large so I found it reasonable. But the second day, I got a housemade chai latte with almond milk and a GF morning glory muffin and was so disappointed with both. First, they don't show that there's a $1.50 upcharge for almond milk on the menu so that was annoying. The chai was not sweet (but you could get it sweetened for an additional $1), which I was fine with cuz I love spicy chai. But it was like barely flavorful, I actually added a pack of sugar later to try to add some flavor but it was not enough to salvage it. And the morning glory muffin was still moist and fairly large but holy moley it had *so* many raisins. Do not get it unless you are in the mood to eat an entire box of raisins. It also had coconut flakes which I didn't realize and also didn't enjoy. The soups looked good, and they make some really good looking toasts too so I'd go that route!
