I usually go to Snake River Roasting Company but wanted to give Cowboy Coffee a chance. I got a flat white, cinnamon brioche bun thing and some whole beans (Java estate "light" roast). Flat white was ok but they use dark roast (at 99% of coffee shops they use a medium roast)for all of their espresso drinks and I personally do not like my coffee tasting burnt. 1/5 Cinnamon brioche bun was decent. Most of the time they're referred to as a morning bun and they have hints of orange. 3/5 Now for the beans that I bought. I got home and opened them to see that they were very shiny (that means that they are a darker roast because the natural oils come out of the beans the longer you roast them). They are marked as a light roast and they are far from it. The roast date isn't on them either and that should have been my red flag. 0/5 Below is the Ethiopia light roast from SRRC next to the CC Java Estate that I just bought, for reference. read more

Such fun vibes at this coffee shop! All the Cowboy decor was great and well put together. For drinks, I ordered the "huckleberry mudpot" the huckleberry gave it a fun and interesting taste! I enjoyed it but my husband wasn't a fan. He ordered the "Mexican mocha" and that was delicious! It had the perfect spice and chocolate flavor. For food, I ordered the "Cowboy croissant" and my husband ordered the "granger" and both were good but nothing crazy. Overall, everything was good, the service was friendly and fast. We drove through Jackson on a road trip and saw this place and stopped. We ordered the snickers latte (with an extra shot) and the matcha huckleberry latte. The snickers latte was- fine? It did what it needed to do. Definitely not something to return for. 2/5 stars The matcha? This was absolutely disappointing. The color was the lightest color you can imagine of "green". It tasted like sweet milk. 0/5 stars. I can't speak to the black coffee that they use... yet. We did buy a bag of their original blend We didn't try any of the food, so maybe that is where the hype is. read more

I was looking for the coffee shop that opens the earliest in Jackson Hole, and Cowboy Coffee was the one that showed up in my searches. They opened at 6AM, and they get very busy. I love their merchandise-- they have some cute little shopping bags and mugs. Anyways I like their coffee. But, I really came here to get some breakfast. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant and it was bigger than I expected. The ham had a sweetness to it -- I think it was honey ham. Overall, the ham and cheese croissant was sweet and savory. Parking is available in the neighboring streets. They do take some time to prepare your coffee so if you're in a rush probs not the best place to come. I'm so glad to have stopped by Cowboy Coffee because it truly embodies the vibe of Jackson. They had the exact music I had been expecting to hear playing and had a bunch of adorable cowboy merch. When my group arrived around 9ish on a Friday morning, there was a line. It got longer and longer as we waited making its way out the door with no sign of stopping. I got a breakfast burrito. I asked for no red peppers, and they were able to accommodate. The burrito was good and hit the spot. For coffee, I wanted the salted caramel cold brew on a vanilla latte, but they were out of the cold foam. The worker gave me whipped cream instead saying it is pretty much the same, but I was bummed to miss out on the salted caramel. Next time I guess! I'd def recommend stopping here for a coffee and bite! read more

A cute little place we stumbled upon. It is small but does have some indoor and outdoor seating. The line was very long when we got there and it moved at a decent pace, but wasn't overly fast. They have a variety of hot breakfast items. And some baked goods, some gluten-free. We had an Arnold Palmer, a fruit smoothie and an iced mocha latte. All of them were very good, no complaints. The coffee was not very flavorful and fell flat. For being a location and a tourist spot, the service was very slow to complete orders. Overall, it was overpriced and not that good. When we got dropped off to go there again, I decided not to order and go to a different coffee shop because the options at Cowboy Coffee are just "meh." I give it 2 stars because the breakfast sandwich was okay. The cinnamon roll seemed burnt or too chewy like it was over-cooked reheated with not enough icing. When we were there early in the morning (7:30ish), it was pretty much our group ruling the place - but as the morning went on, a line began to form out the door. Came in for a quick stop on our stroll through town. There was a long line always a good sign. I got a double espresso and gluten free banana chocolate muffin. The special of the day. The drive-thru interaction was unpleasant, and today the guy working the counter actually cut me off while I was still ordering and printed my receipt before I was finished. WiFi also didn't work and I asked two employees whether it typically works they shrugged their shoulders and walked away. I was really looking forward to grabbing a bite in the morning here but my experience was 50-50. The vegetarian breakfast burrito was dry and nothing like it was described in the menu. It felt like they forgot not one but a few different ingredients. Plus, it's not prepared to order but ready to go. The drink I wanted, matcha huckleberry lemonade, was on their online system but actually not in season according to the server. However the server then checked with the staff and they said they could make it. It was a good drink but so very tart, too much lemon. Before I went in, someone accidentally opened the door while a girl was inside because it wasn't locked. We figured out how to lock it, but when my friend went in and locked the door, a man (not sure if he was the owner or an employee) rudely told me she wasn't allowed to lock it. I was really disappointed with my experience at Cowboy Coffee. I ordered a matcha latte, and it tasted like plain milk with little to no matcha flavor. It looked and tasted like the matcha powder was barely added, if at all. For the price, I expected a balanced drink with a rich matcha taste, but it was honestly one of the weakest matchas I've had. The staff was friendly, but the drink itself was a letdown. I hope they improve the consistency because I was really looking forward to it.
