Kids approved! My son loved watching the bartender shake his chocolate milk now he'll only order it "shaken, not stirred

Our family had a wonderful lunch/ brunch at The Bistro in Jackson, Wyoming! Every meal we ordered was absolutely delicious, and we literally cleaned our plates. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. What truly made the experience memorable, though, was Carlos (I believe he was the manager or overseeing the front of the house). He took the time to check in on us, shared a few stories, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. That kind of personal hospitality is rare and really made our visit special. The restaurant is attached to a beautiful hotel that also looked like a great place to stay. We would definitely come back the next time we're in Jackson. Great food, outstanding service, and an all-around fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

We tried this restaurant out since we were staying in the cloudveil. We were looking for an easy dinner on a snowy night. It was a little too fancy for us with our little. The ambience wasn't as nice as the price tag. I think we just got a weird half booth seat in a galley hallway setting next to the entrance of the kitchen. I didn't understand the crayons and paper tablecloths but my little enjoyed coloring. Caesar salad was good along with the vegetable soup which might have been tomato. My husband got the trout which was thinner than expected. We wished that they had a kids menu with pizza but we made die with the pasta.

I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant, especially given the upscale setting and the great vibe of the hotel itself--but unfortunately, the overall experience initially didn't live up to the price point or expectations aside from one stand out: Malachi, whose service recovery was exceptional. We started our evening at the rooftop bar around 6 PM and were surprised by how long it took to be acknowledged, especially since it wasn't particularly busy. It took about 20 minutes before a server came by, and while our drinks were fine, the service was not. We had a dinner reservation downstairs and were already running late, but when it came time to pay, our server, Daniela, was dismissive--she tossed the bill holder to my friend and then took another 10 minutes to run our payment while attending to every other table first. It felt unnecessarily inattentive. Once we joined the rest of our party for dinner, the experience didn't improve much. Drinks were slow to arrive, and our server disappeared for a long stretch, to the point where my cousin had to go find him just to place our food order. That said-- Malachi did his best to turn the night around. He came by to check in on us, and when I mentioned our concerns, immediately offered a sincere apology, brought out hot, fresh bread, and made sure our food was expedited so we could make our next activity at 8 PM. That level of attention and responsiveness was greatly appreciated. Food-wise, the Caesar salad was outstanding--easily a highlight. The peach salad was decent, but nothing remarkable. Most of our party was satisfied with their meal, but the steamed spinach was really salty. They did replace it and let the chef know. My branzino was disappointing in that it was not very flavorful. My friend's trout was excellent. At the end of the meal, they wanted to comp us with some desserts but unfortunately we didn't have time. But the server swiped our card....and charged us for the dessert. So he has to cancel out the bill and rerun it...and now we're late for our 8pm event. In summary, while the atmosphere and a standout staff member showed promise, the inconsistent service left a lot to be desired for a high-end dining experience.

Wow! Where to begin with this lovely place! We were seated immediately and had an indoor table near the windows. The wait staff are friendly and efficient which was appreciated. The menu was great and had something for everyone. The bread basket was so yummy and we had to resist more bread. I had the chicken with a lovely corn slaw base and my fiance tried the duck (I believe!), which both were so decadent and delicious. 10/10 recommend trying this restaurant if you are in the area!

We had breakfast here. We had the Bistro Breakfast and the Jackson Omelette. Both were delicious. The feel of the restaurant is French Brasserie and unlike any other restaurant in the Jackson area. Service was very good and attentive. I highly recommend giving them a visit!

Fantastic dinner experience here. The outdoor seating area had shades that pulled down to protect from the sun, and our waiter had a great personality. We shared the tuna tartare appetizer, which was good, but my ricotta pillow entree, and my friend's short rib, were delicious. We also shared the chocolate bread pudding for dessert and it was equally fabulous.

Decent Caesar salad (1/2)

Expensive for the quality of the food. Food is good but not great. Meals run about $100 per person. The scallops were overcooked and rubbery. The sauce also overpowered the flavor of the scallops. Caesar salad was decent. Braised short ribs were good too. Cocktails were good. Service was excellent. Décor is lovely and modern.

Order the Pork Chop! ...and the Old Fashioned! Wow! If you are in Jackson, take time to visit The Bistro! Food and service were amazing. Both kids have celiac and the staff and restaurant were very accommodating highlighting GF and Vegan meals on the menu. Order the Pork Chop.

Moules Frites (Mussles and french fries)

The Bistro on Center Street in Jackson, WY is a delicious French inspired restaurant in the lobby of the Cloudveil Hotel the menu ranging from traditional wishes, such as coq au vin and duck confit to pork chops. There are some delicious seafood items as well from trout to barramundi. I ordered the calamari and moules frites (mussels and french fries). I thought the calamari was fabulous- super good light and delicious. The moules frites were also super delicious fresh and flavorful. The muscles were some of the best I have had cooked in a garlic butter sauce with cherry tomatos. I have never tried the two together before, but the tomatos added a subtle sweetness to the dish. I was seated at the bar. I ordered a Wyoming Whiskey boulevardier cocktail. It was OK. I thought it was a bit heavy on the vermouth but other than that it was pretty good. The interior of the restaurant is a little bit industrial, but it does a good job incorporating. A Parisian feel similar to other bistros and cafés in France. The service was pretty good, but the restaurant was busy when I was there. Overall, I would say my den experience was an 8.5 out of 10. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

We came here to celebrate my aunt's 63rd birthday, and although we were seated later than expected, the staff more than made up for it. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. As an apology for the wait, they treated us to a free appetizer and two desserts, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The food was absolutely delicious, and they even did a special little celebration and sang for my aunt, which made her night feel extra special. Overall, a very satisfactory experience, and I would definitely recommend this bistro to anyone visiting Jackson.

Clam chowder

Everything was very tasty and on point. Prices were reasonable in our opinion, and the service was outstanding. Our waiter, David, was very attentive and friendly. Will be back soon

Appetizers (lots of Gluten Free)
Donna P.

The service was amazing. The menu has a lot of Gluten Free items. The food was good and so were the drinks. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the $78, 35 day dry aged steak. I got it medium rare and it was so chewy and dry that I couldn't eat any more of it. My husband and step adult-child took a bite and both looked like they were struggling to chew it. The video I caught was actually funny since they had the same facial reactions. *like father, like child* The place was great, just don't order the most expensive steak on the menu. Go for the meatloaf like I should have.

A unique setting in a wine / liquor store with a tapas bar in the back, amongst the wine racks and liquor bottles. Long communal tables and sitting hip to hip with foodies, locals, and people meeting total strangers. It is good conversation with everyone sharing stories, not once was politics mentioned. Reservations are not taken, instead you will find the host making people scoot to make room for new arrivals at the long tables. Our servers were spot-on with service, drinks and sharing her favorites. It is cozy and casual, people meeting people. The spirits here are for the pros with knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and bubbles. We started with the wild mushroom mozzarella with balsalmic butter, parmesan and balsalmic glaze served on crunchy baguettes. It was unbelievably flavored and tasty, a great start to the night and must have! The Spanish salad with arugula, apple, fennel, almonds, manchego and a honey-sherry vinegarette was good but not on par with the other dishes. The tuna crudo with cucumber, arugula, crunchy grains, orange wedges, citrous vinegarette, fried capers and preserved lemon was light, a real palate cleanser, and refreshing. A pleasant surprise and would order again. The lamb pintxos was our final selection and a great dish to end the night on. The fork tender lamb tenderloin was served on 2 skewers with mojo verde, Spanish aoili, and pickled red onions on crisp baguette slices. Another Homerun! The menu changes frequently and the tapas allow you to try several different delectable dishes. It encourages sharing and forces you to open up and try different dishes. Hands-down my favorite food and conversation while visiting Jackson, WY. To the staff here at Binn 22, congrats on a unique and completely fabulous dinner and concept. I almost never write reviews, but Matt and the Chef deserve some recognition!…read more It was honestly hard finding good food in Jackson Hole as we are picky eaters, but this place was so good we came back twice. The fried chicken pasta was delicious - the chicken was sooo juicy. The truffle pasta was also really good. Matt works at the bar, and he made the whole experience even better. There wasn't a hostess when we walked in, but he noticed us and got us seated. We also ate at the bar another night and noticed how much he genuinely goes out of his way for everyone. Even if he's not your server, he makes sure you're taken care of. He handles negative situations really well too, even when things like food delays aren't his fault. Super friendly, great attitude, and just naturally good at what he does. Honestly, service at some other places in Jackson Hole has been pretty disappointing, so Matt really stood out and left a great impression on us.

The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

The focaccia bread is delicious. The wait for food is agonizingly long. Over 2 hours in total. We received our food and it really wasn't great. The steak was cold and the fries were soggy. The pasta I tried was very acidic and was not what I'd consider "au poivre". There were no green peppercorns in the sauce or anywhere on the plate. The restaurant was very busy so I can attribute some of the wait and inaccuracy to that, but we waited a long time for drinks as well. It tasted like someone had literally thrown them into a fire-pit with no seasoning. My brother in law ordered the ribeye. He ordered his med rare. It came out medium well. Asked for a replacement. New one came out rare when he cut into it. Sent it back to add some char to it. Came out again and was acceptable but no seasoning and very bland. This was probably the best meal we had while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks…read more We had a day to explore the area and Grok (of all things/places) recommended visiting Victor and Driggs for the day. Kids had chicken tenders and the steak and fries. Both kids enjoyed their meal. The chicken tenders were huge and kid got 3 of them. The steak was about 5oz, which was a decent size for the kid. It came pre-cut, so the kiddo didn't have to handle a huge steak knife to cut it--which was nice. Both came with a generous serving of golden French fries. Fresh cut or frozen, these fries were good! Either a second ramekin of ketchup or a larger one is definitely needed for the amount of fries served. I had the burger. It wasn't fancy--just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions--but it was a thick patty with fluffy bun with lots of flavor. It also came with a ton of golden fries. My mom had the BLT that didn't skimp on the pork belly. I wish the stores sold thick cut bacon like that. She said it was delicious. Hubby had the lobster roll. The kids brought the purple potato chips were the neatest thing (they were good, too). The lobster roll was perfectly dressed--not too much and not too skimpy--and tasted surprisingly fresh. This place is a little more upscale than some of the other places we've eaten at this week. We were welcomed as we were--shorts and tees. Other guests were dressed casually, not overly fancy. The adjacent museum was a cool place to visit, too. It housed 3 restored Navy planes that were neat to see. Since we're headed home tomorrow, we won't be back, but if we were staying longer, we'd make the ~hour long drive just to eat there again!

However, our food experience was also mixed. We shared a soup du jour (potato bacon broth based) which was awesome. Parmesan fries app came as a generous portion and were pretty good as was our elderberry mocktail. The big disappoint was the tandoori chicken which the waitress recommended but we found to be very dry. It was described on the menu as having a yogurt marinate, which was already mixed into the dish, but we couldn't really taste it. The tabouli/rice that came with it was also dry and didn't have much taste. The waitress was nice and tried to get more sauce but when she couldn't, she brought olive oil and vinegar which was ok but at that point I would have just liked something different as it was pretty mediocre. Forage is a nice restaurant with some nice options but you should expect to spend a fair amount. I would expect the fine dining experience quality to match the price, but we had enough good food here that I would come back to try something different.
