I ended up having dinner here when coming to try to go to Cloudveil, which is a rooftop bar/restaurant. Turns out Cloudveil is only open between June-ish and before winter, and I came late May 2026 so they weren't open yet. However, the nice folks at the bistro were able to serve me without a reservation (restaurant was about 2/3 full). The food was a little high but not crazy for a sit down restaurant and given I wasn't all that hungry, it was the perfect amount of food. They serve fresh bread with butter spread before your entree and it is so, so lovely! I ended up getting one of their appetizer salads with fresh fruit on a bed of roast veg, and I got two drinks - the "Rose French 75" ($16 - has alcohol) and "the inversion" ($11 - mocktail version of the "Jackson fog" cocktail). I can genuinely say both drinks but particularly the inversion were two of the best drinks I've had; the flavor was perfectly sweet, just a bit floral, and distinct from any other drink I've had (which is something I love to experience!). They paired great with the salad and the bread. They were also sweet enough I didn't even need dessert (although the huckleberry cheesecake and the bread pudding were tempting). I would go here again just to get another inversion mocktail if nothing else. It's a lovely place to have dinner and just enjoy the ambiance near Jackson square - highly recommend!! read more

Our party of 3 was visiting the area, and with so many seasonal restaurant closures, we opted for the well-reviewed Bistro downtown. Dressed up and on reservation, we arrived a tad early and were promptly greeted. Maybe hospitality isn't Wyoming's forte, but all of the staff did not seem happy to see nor serve us from the beginning. The booking site only offered high top tables, so that's what I selected. When the hostess asked if we'd like to switch to a table, she was sternly corrected in front of us that it "wouldn't be possible" by another staff member. The interaction felt unprofessional in front of guests, and as if they weren't willing to accommodate us. On top of that fiasco came plenty of glares and stares from staff throughout our visit. Crawfish & Dumpling - 9/10 For the table. Pungent; a few bites satisfy. I've never had crawfish in this setting. Perfect gnocchi. Delicious all around. Oyster Shooter - 8/10 Fairly priced, fresh. Nice bloody mary. Rabbit Ravioli - 6.5/10 Stingy portion of meat. Ravioli is just okay. The fried carrot nest was fun but it was too much for the serving. It's a carrot salad with a bite of meat and maybe 5 ravioli. Bar Steak - One came overcooked and one under. Sides were mediocre. Uninteresting mashed potatoes. Our waitress tried to take our order almost immediately after being seated. She visited few times after ordering. With a 5:30 reservation, we left by 5:57 thanks to the small portions and staff seeming to rush us out. In a tourist destination, I would imagine better hospitality and warmth from local workers. Not many smiles here. I typically tip well, but they didn't seem to want us there and the experience really dampened my entire party's mood. read more

Several locals shopkeepers have suggested The Bistro in the Cloudveil Hotel just off the Jackson square for a nice lunch. The setting is beautiful and sleek. We were surprised on a Saturday afternoon that the place had 3 couples only for lunch. The bar is the center of the restaurant and it is beautifully done. I found the menu to be limited and not that inspiring. We ordered the French onion soup and the catfish po-boy with fries. The flavor was good for the French onion soup while temperature was luke warm at best. This soup is usually super hot unless they melted the cheese with a torch. The po-boy sandwich had nice fluffy bread, a flavorless catfish filet but delicious fries. If the remoulade had not been present, it would of been tasteless. I had higher food expectations with the beautiful restaurant design but the food is no where close to matching the bar. A real disappointment. I know the chef is a long term resident and success in Jacksonville, but this was not anything to write home about. read more

We first dinned here the first year it opened and even then it was five star! Last night my wife and I stopped in Jackson and decided to visit once again. So went to open menu app and made a reservation! It was super busy and hungry. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks! This bar tender knew how to make deliciously good blood Mary's twice! We ordered French Onion Soup, Escargot and Tuna Tartar! Everything was delicious and five star plus! It was so good we felt like we were in France! The ambiance is of a Paris France Bistro! Our family had a wonderful lunch/ brunch at The Bistro in Jackson, Wyoming! Every meal we ordered was absolutely delicious, and we literally cleaned our plates. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. What truly made the experience memorable, though, was Carlos (I believe he was the manager or overseeing the front of the house). He took the time to check in on us, shared a few stories, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. That kind of personal hospitality is rare and really made our visit special. We tried this restaurant out since we were staying in the cloudveil. We were looking for an easy dinner on a snowy night. It was a little too fancy for us with our little. The ambience wasn't as nice as the price tag. I think we just got a weird half booth seat in a galley hallway setting next to the entrance of the kitchen. I didn't understand the crayons and paper tablecloths but my little enjoyed coloring. Caesar salad was good along with the vegetable soup which might have been tomato. I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant, especially given the upscale setting and the great vibe of the hotel itself--but unfortunately, the overall experience initially didn't live up to the price point or expectations aside from one stand out: Malachi, whose service recovery was exceptional. We started our evening at the rooftop bar around 6 PM and were surprised by how long it took to be acknowledged, especially since it wasn't particularly busy. It took about 20 minutes before a server came by, and while our drinks were fine, the service was not. We had a dinner reservation downstairs and were already running late, but when it came time to pay, our server, Daniela, was dismissive--she tossed the bill holder to my friend and then took another 10 minutes to run our payment while attending to every other table first. It felt unnecessarily inattentive. Once we joined the rest of our party for dinner, the experience didn't improve much. Drinks were slow to arrive, and our server disappeared for a long stretch, to the point where my cousin had to go find him just to place our food order. That said-- Malachi did his best to turn the night around. He came by to check in on us, and when I mentioned our concerns, immediately offered a sincere apology, brought out hot, fresh bread, and made sure our food was expedited so we could make our next activity at 8 PM. That level of attention and responsiveness was greatly appreciated. Food-wise, the Caesar salad was outstanding--easily a highlight. The peach salad was decent, but nothing remarkable. Most of our party was satisfied with their meal, but the steamed spinach was really salty. They did replace it and let the chef know. My branzino was disappointing in that it was not very flavorful. My friend's trout was excellent. At the end of the meal, they wanted to comp us with some desserts but unfortunately we didn't have time. But the server swiped our card....and charged us for the dessert. So he has to cancel out the bill and rerun it...and now we're late for our 8pm event. In summary, while the atmosphere and a standout staff member showed promise, the inconsistent service left a lot to be desired for a high-end dining experience. read more

Wow! Where to begin with this lovely place! We were seated immediately and had an indoor table near the windows. The wait staff are friendly and efficient which was appreciated. The menu was great and had something for everyone. The bread basket was so yummy and we had to resist more bread. The Bistro on Center Street in Jackson, WY is a delicious French inspired restaurant in the lobby of the Cloudveil Hotel the menu ranging from traditional wishes, such as coq au vin and duck confit to pork chops. There are some delicious seafood items as well from trout to barramundi. I ordered the calamari and moules frites (mussels and french fries). I thought the calamari was fabulous- super good light and delicious. The moules frites were also super delicious fresh and flavorful. The muscles were some of the best I have had cooked in a garlic butter sauce with cherry tomatos. I have never tried the two together before, but the tomatos added a subtle sweetness to the dish. I was seated at the bar. I ordered a Wyoming Whiskey boulevardier cocktail. It was OK. I thought it was a bit heavy on the vermouth but other than that it was pretty good. The interior of the restaurant is a little bit industrial, but it does a good job incorporating. A Parisian feel similar to other bistros and cafés in France. The service was pretty good, but the restaurant was busy when I was there. Overall, I would say my den experience was an 8.5 out of 10. I got it medium rare and it was so chewy and dry that I couldn't eat any more of it. My husband and step adult-child took a bite and both looked like they were struggling to chew it. The video I caught was actually funny since they had the same facial reactions. *like father, like child* The place was great, just don't order the most expensive steak on the menu. Another dinner at a local favorite so time for a review!! Been the The Bidtro a number of times and ordered most things at least once! Doesn't really matter what you order, it's going to have its own bit of creativity with great flavors designed to compliment the main dish. The dry aged steak is one of my go to's, and I have buddies who won't stray from the pork chop. Service is always top notch and needs are quickly met by just asking. Super kind and courteous staff! I just wanted to share some honest feedback about our recent visits. We've come in twice and both times were served by Maria at the bar. Unfortunately, the experience felt pretty similar each time. We weren't acknowledged when we sat down, and when she did interact with us, it came across as abrupt and a bit off-putting. I completely understand that bartending can be busy and stressful as I can tell they're doing a shift change. I've been in the industry for almost 20 years myself but a simple acknowledgment and a welcoming tone really go a long way. The menu is a traditional bistro offering, with a limited selection of appetizers, salads, soups and entrees. Based on our dinners, the duck and the meatloaf, the execution was good. Our martinis were fine but small, and the by the glass wine list is adequate. Because of the location and clientele, prices are full. We're glad we chose the Bistro. read more

A late lunch and several positive Yelp reviews guided me here today. I stepped in to an upscale, natural light filled Bistro and was greeted immediately by Kyle with a smile. The French Onion Soup arrive fairly quickly, and I snacked on the crispy, generous garnish of fried onions first. So good! I really enjoyed my breakfast when I came in here alone before work. They were eager to show me gluten free options once I told them of my intolerance and they had labeled GF items on the menu. The waitress was very kind and helpful. I ordered the Jackson omelet since it was the first thing I saw that looked amazing. As a JH local, this place was my favorite restaurant at one point. I have now had a few experiences that have been very disappointing. Recently went for early 5:30 pm reservation. Menu was incorrect and not updated, ran out of one of the most popular entrees (by 6 pm!), inadequately trained waiter (I think he made stuff up...chef did not recommend cooking temp as stated and prepared different), serve staff brought wrong items to the table twice. I enjoyed several meals in The Bistro last week as it was pretty convenient as a guest of the hotel and I really enjoyed every meal so that kept me going back for more. Meals included the bison filet (excellent), trout (amazing), breakfast burrito (good) and on the final day I needed to get some work done so I decided to just whip my laptop out at the bar which provided me great work space and had the perfect breakfast which was the quiche and salad. It was great to have an option with a salad. All staff I encountered were great; professional, friendly and accommodating. I'll definitely return on my next trip to Jackson for a meal or two. read more
