They can deliver to your room, but be advised they it comes with a 20% room service charge. Food- 5 stars Everything was pretty good for the standard American restaurant at the lodge. I particularly liked the corn crusted red trout for dinner and the cowboy omelette for breakfast. Produce tasted fresh and their green smoothie was pretty good as well Service- 5 stars Food came out quickly and the servers and bartenders were really attentive. They were even able to drop off food in our room when we were doing some sunrise tours at Grand Teton NP (just to make sure we used our breakfast credit) Bottom Line Standard American hotel restaurant that offers up pretty good food and service.

As with their sister hotel's restaurant next door, I really wanted to like this place more than I…read moredid. But I liked Spur even less. This feels like a sports bar pretending to be more than it is. The booths and tables were run down, chipped, and dirty and there were a myriad of TV's and extensive bar space with a lot of people yelling. From the website and menu, I guess I was expecting something nicer. The outdoor area is super lovely. I just don't know why the rest of the place doesn't have the same feel. The food: -Smoked trout deviled eggs - I love smoked fish and roe, but these were so overpoweringly fishy that neither of us even wanted to eat the last one. -Tomahawk pork chop with potatoes, apple cider reduction, pickled brussels sprouts - the pork and reduction was fantastic, if small. Potatoes were great. Brussels sprouts were mostly leaves. You know, like when you take off the outer layers when you cook them because otherwise a bunch just fall off? Those. About 80% leaves with very few actual sprouts to bite into. -Braised buffalo cheeks with polenta, pearl onions, carrots, kale - the buffalo was great. Kale and carrots were fine. Polenta was bland. Onions were undercooked. -Flourless chocolate cake - best thing we had besides the pork chop, but that's not a surprise -Meat and cheese board - in a word, LAZY. The menu describes it as a "selection of cured meats and artisan cheeses, pepperoncini, seasonal jam, grilled baguette, seasonal fruit, marcona almonds." What we got: bread so crispy it was painful to eat; wedges of goat cheese and what I think was gouda with chiles; a little pile of salami slices and two *whole* slices of mortadella folded over, not cut at all, did they expect us to eat whole pieces?; and the not-at-all-seasonal fruit which was about one-sixth of a green apple, thinly sliced, and a single strawberry, sliced, but with the green tops still on (!!). The absolute kicker though: the "seasonal jam" was one of the worst things either of us have ever tasted in our lives. I asked what it was and one server said olive spread and one server said onion jam. It looked and tasted like neither. We have no idea what it was, but it tasted like sweaty gym socks. It had me questioning if it was made with durian. It was THAT BAD. Service was completely disinterested. We weren't even there at a busy time, but we had empty drinks for half the meal, and they couldn't even answer fundamental questions about the menu (including but not limited to the "seasonal jam" debacle above). I love love love the hotel. But I will not eat at this restaurant again. I am glad I changed our weekend breakfast plans to eat here and made our own breakfasts in our room instead.

After a few days of "well, that was expensive" meals, this place felt like striking gold. We're not meat eaters, which can sometimes make dining in these areas a bit of a scavenger hunt, but The Blue Lion delivered anyway. The scallops were spot-on, the scampi pasta was bright and balanced, and everything tasted like someone in the kitchen actually cared. And then there's Colin, the manager--who somehow manages to be attentive, engaging, and completely unpretentious all at once. He chatted with us about food like we were old friends, made sure every detail was right, and turned dinner into an experience rather than just a reservation. Our server was equally dialed in, catching nuances in our order that most places would miss. It's the kind of service that feels effortless but clearly isn't. The vibe? Cozy, welcoming, and just the right amount of lively. The kind of place where you linger a little too long and start thinking about what you'd order next time. In a town full of places that rely on location, The Blue Lion earns it.

4 stars - no more, no less…read more Let's start with the ambiance because i actually thought that was the best part. Snake River grill has been around for a while and it's designed with that log cabin, woodsy lodge vibe. I love that old world cabin-y feel and they nailed it. Very beautiful space to be in and different from most restaurants in the area. Service -- mixed bag here. Our server was very kind. But she disappeared several times throughout the night. There was a solid 20+ minute lull between apps and entrees -- longer than normal -- which would have been more palatable if a server stopped by once or twice. We sat with an empty table, empty water glasses, and empty drinks. We had to stand up to finally flag down another waiter. Overall - this place is generally regarded as running a very sound operation -- so hard to say what was going on, but definitely put a real damper on the experience. Food - we had 4 total dishes, 2 great, 1 okay, 1 not great. We started with the gnocchi which was prepared in a zucchini cream type sauce. I'm not a big gnocchi guy - usually too heavy for me -- but this summery preparation drew me in. It was stupendous. The zucchini sauce with deliciously fresh zucchini chunks and perfectly delicate gnocchi was an overall excellent dish. We were licking the bowl. For entrees - we had the the spinach papardelle with a rabbit ragu which was also excellent. Rabbit ragu isn't something you find everywhere and it was beautifully executed. Flavorful and fresh and the sauce was not overpowering. The tomatoes chunks were vibrant and delicious and balanced the richness of the rabbit ragu perfectly. The papardelle was infused with spinach and had a perfect chew. Amazing dish. The not so amazing - the bavette steak. The meat itself was good and this is a great cut that's lesser found on menus. The problem was the smoke on it. It was egregious. I don't mind a little bit of smoke on my meat but this tasted like it had been cooked over a wood smoker for the last 2 weeks. It was hard to get past the smoke and neither my wife or i could really eat it. Very surprising that with such a high level of smoke, the menu or servers wouldn't call this out. Smoke is definitely polarizing and not something everybody likes. The whole dish was ruined by it. Big miss. For dessert we had the fruit crumble. The fruit was a blend of several fresh fruits -- delicious -- but the proportion of crumble to fruit was way way off. May sound like nitpicking -- but these are the details that matter and separate an okay dish from a great one. There was a very thin layer of crumble on top (which was great) and below was about 2 inches of jam / preserve. The crumble was gone after a couple bites and we were left with a swimming pool of jam. Less jam / more crumble and you have a top notch dessert on your hands. Overall I'd give this a true 3.5 stars. Ambiance was closer to 5 stars, service 3, food 4. Definitely go check it out

I will post info about the museum in another review. While I loved the cafe, which had a dining room with a great view of the peaceful elk refuge area and covered outdoor seating with the same wonderful view, our experience was not all that wonderful or peaceful. Unfortunately we were seated next to a very very large table of mostly female young adults who had no regard for the others in the cafe. They were so loud and distracting that it was impossible to enjoy our lunch let alone have a conversation amongst ourselves. The wait staff also had a hard time hearing our order. I believe the management should have either asked them to respect the others in the cafe and lower their conversations or not have seated anyone around them. Here's a thought, set them up outside. While the acoustics in the cafe did make the situation worse, management should really think about their other patrons. It is difficult to say many complimentary things about the food or the service when the overall experience was not good.
