Pork chop

We had the a wonderful meal at The Kitchen. We got a reservation a day or two before for an early dinner. Perks of an early dinner is the happy hour was still going on for some of our drinks and appetizers. Everyone at the table loved their entrees and the plates were clean by the end. Portion sizes were respectable but not huge. If you come with a large appetite after skiing I would recommend getting an appetizer or two and prepare for dessert at the end. The interior of the restaurant was cozy and the staff was friendly. I will be returning on my next trip to Jackson.

Love this spot... always busy, best to make a reservation. They have a great blend of asian / fusion.... I had black cod and a cabbage salad... check out their Happy Hour menu, great deals and drinks.

Very good. Spontaneous meal, with seating at the counter for two. I tried the duck, which was well done - if a little salty and rich. The sauce was pretty spicy too, certain Thai flavors. My mother went for the salmon, which I found to be uninteresting. But that wasn't my choice, after all. People sat next to us had the pork chop and steak, which looked quite good. Maybe next time... We got there during happy hour but neither of us ordered drinks. We lucked into the 2 for $2 deal, which makes the value worthwhile.

We were 0 for 2 trying to find a place to eat dinner when we were directed here by a local. And what a wonderful recommendation it was. This place was HOPPIN'. I honestly thought we weren't gonna get in. But thankfully there was room in the outdoor seating area, which was quite nice. The weather was perfect. We didn't get to see inside the restaurant, but we still enjoyed our dinner nonetheless. Our service was fast and friendly, and we got great recommendations from our server. And that's all great, but we went there for the food. And the food was outstanding. The drinky drinks were stiff and smooth, and the food... Oh my goodness! The food was amazing. We started with the tempura scromp-scromps (shrimp) appetizer. It was incredible. A perfect crisp and a little spice from the spicy aioli, with a little cabbage to cut the heat. For our main course, my wife enjoyed the wild mushroom ramen, and I had their roasted pork shank. Both were excellent. When she tapped out, I threw some of my remaking pork shank into the ramen to finish it off. Chef's kiss. And then for dessert, our server cleverly enticed us with a dessert menu full of items I desperately wanted to try. Sadly, I was already stuffed, so I agreed to split one item with my wife. And by split, I mean, I think she took one or two bites and I finished the rest because she also was stuffed. I don't usually overheat to the point where I'm completely stuffed, but I did not want to stop eating at The Kitchen. Everything was so incredibly good, I just couldn't leave anything behind. Admittedly, I was hurting a little bit after dinner from overindulgence, but it was the end of the night so we simply walked back to our hotel and relaxed. THAT was an outstanding meal.

Pork Chops

Pork chops were delicious. Everything on the plate paired so well together. The salmon crudo was very flavorful. There were some parts that were a bit too salty. I was expecting raw salmon, but I think they used smoked salmon. Either way, it was delicious. The beef tartare didn't taste like anything to me. It was really disappointing.

Best tofu dish ever!
Alison G.

The tofu dish was the absolute best tofu dish I've ever eaten anywhere! The flavor was incredible! Some kimchi would've been a nice addition. Loved the cilantro Microgreens! The tempura shrimp was good. The steak was just OK. Certainly could have used quite a bit more vegetables. We would've liked more than one leaf of bok choy! The happy hour prices sure were nice.

Cabbage Salad

We enjoyed dining here during our last night in Jackson. The highlights of the meal were the Cabbage Salad and the Salmon and the Caesar Salad was inventive. My husband enjoyed the Coconut Rice Panacotta. The only downside was the duck had the skin left on.

Lovely plating.

A unique setting in a wine / liquor store with a tapas bar in the back, amongst the wine racks and liquor bottles. Long communal tables and sitting hip to hip with foodies, locals, and people meeting total strangers. It is good conversation with everyone sharing stories, not once was politics mentioned. Reservations are not taken, instead you will find the host making people scoot to make room for new arrivals at the long tables. Our servers were spot-on with service, drinks and sharing her favorites. It is cozy and casual, people meeting people. The spirits here are for the pros with knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and bubbles. We started with the wild mushroom mozzarella with balsalmic butter, parmesan and balsalmic glaze served on crunchy baguettes. It was unbelievably flavored and tasty, a great start to the night and must have! The Spanish salad with arugula, apple, fennel, almonds, manchego and a honey-sherry vinegarette was good but not on par with the other dishes. The tuna crudo with cucumber, arugula, crunchy grains, orange wedges, citrous vinegarette, fried capers and preserved lemon was light, a real palate cleanser, and refreshing. A pleasant surprise and would order again. The lamb pintxos was our final selection and a great dish to end the night on. The fork tender lamb tenderloin was served on 2 skewers with mojo verde, Spanish aoili, and pickled red onions on crisp baguette slices. Another Homerun! The menu changes frequently and the tapas allow you to try several different delectable dishes. It encourages sharing and forces you to open up and try different dishes. Hands-down my favorite food and conversation while visiting Jackson, WY. To the staff here at Binn 22, congrats on a unique and completely fabulous dinner and concept. We ordered the rabbit rillettes, Dutch Crunch Bread, asparagus soup, and SRG Steak Tartare Pizza for our appetizers. Everything was good but the pizza was a bit on the saltier side. Their breads were delicious though For the entrees, we ordered the prime new York steak, morel mushroom tagliatelle, duck breast, roasted carrots, and braised greens. Nothing really stood out, but everything was delicious For the desserts, we ordered the earl grey semifreddo and charred cinnamon cheesecake which were both pretty good Service- 5 stars Food came out quickly and the servers were really attentive. The menu options included a rich selection of pastas, proteins, and vegetables, each intentionally crafted to create the perfect bite. The restaurant itself almost seemed to betray its culinary elegance with an aire of western saloon styling. Yet, the contrast dissolved upon the immersion into the menu. We had three "Per la Travola" and "Antipasti" followed by a few Primi and Secondi. The crostini was a perfectly toasted slice of baguette with a pillow of sweet and nutty ricotta. Amazing! From the "Primi" selections, the Casarecce was perfection. The dish had just the right mixture of crunch to accentuate the delicate firmness of the pasta, and the boldness of the pesto. Other standout dishes were the grilled rabbit leg, and grilled cabbage. Both quite unique, and remarkable. However, the highlight of the night, in my humble opinion, was the Fusilli Gigante, and the Grilled Broccolini. The later came with a spicy Calabrian aioli, which was wonderful. In terms of drink, their specialty old-fashioned equivalent contained a nice local sage flourish that really added to each sip. And of course no proper dining experience would be complete without a dessert... the tiramisu and affogato left us all quite satisfied. Can't recommend enough. Perfect for a date night, or a night out with friends and family.

Our server, Jorge, was friendly, attentive, and quick throughout the evening. My companion also enjoyed an Old Fashioned--it was well made and satisfying, although not memorable enough to order a second. Unfortunately, the food and service experience quickly went downhill. I ordered "The Grand" Surf & Turf, which was advertised as a 6-ounce Lot 29 prime sirloin with green peppercorn sauce, a 4-ounce lobster tail with drawn butter, and Brussels sprouts. Instead, I was served perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful Brussels sprouts alongside a massive ribeye--with no lobster tail and no green peppercorn sauce. After taking a few bites, I realized I hadn't received what I ordered. When I pointed it out, Jorge apologized, explained the kitchen had made a mistake, and immediately had a lobster tail prepared, which ended up being excellent. My companion ordered the bison ribs with mashed potatoes. What we overlooked was that the ribs were completely smothered in barbecue sauce. Unfortunately, the sauce tasted more like sweet ketchup than barbecue, completely overpowering the meat and making the dish unenjoyable. The biggest disappointment came when the bill arrived. Rather than simply charging me for the Surf & Turf I originally ordered, they charged me for the full ribeye ($68) plus an additional lobster tail ($24). The entire reason I ordered the Surf & Turf was because it was $69, included both steak and lobster, and I knew I didn't want such a large steak. The additional cost wasn't really the issue--it was the principle. The mistake was entirely the restaurant's, yet we were initially billed for it. To make matters worse, my card had already been charged before I had a chance to review the bill, forcing me to ask for the charges to be corrected. While they did adjust the bill, there was no courtesy discount, no apology from management, and no manager ever came to our table to acknowledge or address the mistakes. For a restaurant with this reputation and price point, I expected much better customer service and recovery when things went wrong. It's unfortunate because we had been looking forward to dining here ever since driving past it on our way to breakfast. The stunning view and Jorge's kindness couldn't make up for the kitchen errors, billing issues, and lack of management response. Sadly, we won't be returning, nor would we recommend Gun Barrel Steak House to friends or family.

Filet was perfectly cooked to my medium request, tender, and perfectly seasoned. They tout USDA prime meats, and I have no doubt that's what they serve. Hubs ordered his steak be served on their 600 degree salt block, and he was a bit hesitant that it could easily be overcooked. It arrived at the table, he removed the steak from the extremely hot salt block and each piece he placed back on the salt block before eating. I actually did the same with several pieces of my steak. I was amazed at the additional flavor this salt block added to an already delicious filet! Our shared sides were very good, too.
