20 years ago, we rented a house on VRBO and were lucky to find Nora's Fish Creek Inn a few blocks away. This is the perfect spot for a casual morning breakfast or lunch. With 3 young boys at the time, this was ideal. We found it a must return on our trip to Jackson Hole without our young adults now. This place was packed on Saturday morning, but the tables turn over fast. The staff is great, kind and will treat you like a local. 90% of the people here, live in the area. Cowboy hats, jeans, pickup trucks, baseball cap turned backwards and STILL a warm greeting and smile welcoming you in. We sat at the bar and were quickly engaged in a friendly conversation, no politics, just a "howdy neighbor". Biscuits and gravy and a stack of banana bread French toast was a must. The B&G were huge, filling and could of used a touch more gravy and some decent chunks of sausage. I easily polished them off. The banana bread French toast was nicely done and tasty, but had minimal bananas. Nora's is not fine dining but comfort food done well. The portions were generous, ambiance is incredible and it reminds you of a time when people were kind, considerate and welcoming. This will always be on my must hit list when in the Tetons and they "still" hit the mark. Congrats to Nora's Fish Creek Inn and the lively staff for making breakfast extra special, ALWAYS! read more

Let me start with saying that I have been coming here at least once a summer and that I used to love their breakfast dishes, the atmosphere and service. Since it was sold a few years back, Nora's has turned into a run-of-the-mill breakfast place. I mean there are still good dishes to be ordered like the Trout Amandine, Huevos Ranchero and others but my staple food (biscuits and gravy) which used to be the best in the West has turned into a floury gravy with a resemblance of bits of sausage floating sparingly on top of the biscuits. The biscuits weren't fresh, I suspect they were microwaved. The potato hash that I'm used to turned into dice size little potato cubes which don't quite appeal to me. The only two things that I liked from today's experience were the side of bacon (generous and well done) and, surprisingly enough the coffee (which used to be weak and not tasting like coffee). Bravo on these two last items! Service was excellent, as always, prompt and friendly. Ambiance? It's okay, the bar fixture installed by the new owners doesn't seem to jive with the log cabin feel of an old, historic place like Nora's. Next year? I hope for the best, at least in the biscuits and gravy department! PS Keep the coffee strong! read more

This was my first stop while staying in the area, and it was a great welcoming! The staff was kind and friendly when I came in. Nora's was busy for a week day, but I was seated quickly. I appreciated the weekly food specials, but I came a bit late to participate in Happy Hour. I ordered the meatloaf, which was good. The other food ordered was also described as yummy and satisfying. We love Nora's, and have consistently had great experiences on our yearly treks out to this gorgeous area of the country. It's casual, no frill ambiance is relaxing and homey. Today our server was very helpful in her suggestions, and everyone loved their breakfast choices. Trying to eat a healthier breakfast I chose the Homemade Finnish yogurt and granola with berries. Food was excellent, service lack-luster. We visited for dinner and made reservations. We started with the Mountain Game Hot Dish which was delicious!! Then got the bison quesadilla as the main. This was great. I feel like typically quesadilla's do not have enough meat in them, but this was stuffed with bison meat. For dessert, we ordered the cinnamon raisin bread budding, it was good, but could have been served warmer. Overall, great dinner option. read more

This place is awesome! Very cool vibe. Like a great restaurant at the lake or mountains that is non pretentious and a place where locals go! We parked around back at a separate building and got greeted by a super cool little dog named Jack, who was sticking his head out the window. Learned later Jack is the chef's rescue dog! (I bet that dog gets fed well!) Our waiter Gato was very efficient and we enjoyed talking with him. I had shrimp & grits and hubs had a chicken pot pie with buttermilk biscuits! This review is 100% about our fantastic server, Angelica. She is a wonderful server. As a former restaurant manager; I'm very picky in regard to service. She did everything perfectly. We very much enjoyed our experience despite the banana French toast not being good. It was cold, and not toasted. It just tasted like sliced banana bread, that I put syrup on because I thought it would actually be toasted. I want to speak to Guy Fiera! Lol. I was disappointed in the food but the service & atmosphere took the review to 5 stars. I'll try something different next time. read more

Stopped here twice during JH Marathon weekend, once for lunch and then for dinnrer. Quite the charming place, log cabin style dining. Food was very good ( recommend the Trout Almondine and the Beef Stroganoff). Wings were also very good. Staff and service were superior! We had a large party of 9 with littles for dinner and they were very accomodating. Will definitely go back!! read more

Lunch at Nora's Fish Creek Inn was absolutely worth it. The trout was fresh, flaky, and cooked perfectly with a buttery flavor and crispy skin that melted in your mouth. The French fries were hot, crispy, and the perfect side to such a great meal. This place is our local "watering hole". Great deal on happy hour drinks made with premium tequila and vodka. We decided to stay for dinner. The service is rough and you will wait for your food for a while. The food is okay. Pretty basic. The atmosphere is a rustic pub styled restaurant. We came here for brunch. The place/atmosphere is super cute. There was a live guitarist, which added to the ambiance. The waiter was nice but couldnt really answer any of our question about the coffee. He admitted he had only just started working there. We all split an order of their famous banana french toast which was delicious! It was soft on the inside and sweet and crunchy on the outside. It was definitely the star of the show. I ordered their famous trout and eggs. It came with the shredded hash browns. The trout had zero seasoning and it was very bland and fishy. I probably would not recommend this to eat. read more

Came here via recommendation from some locals we are visiting from out of town. Most of the food was good however the waitress failed to do anything but shrug off a well done ordered burger that came so rare that it was barely touched. Also extremely unprofessional to let the people at the bar scream F bombs over and over as well as playing vulgar punk rock music very loudly.. you would think an establishment that that's been around for a while would know how to conduct business professionally. read more

The huevos rancheros was the highlight which I thought I would never say when it's the standard in Texas. Love the taste and surprisingly went well with the banana bread taste- salty sweet combo. Breakfast review -- I've only been here for breakfast. We have gotten a variety of breakfast items and haven't been disappointed yet. The biscuits have that just right blend of butter and sour that I've been pursuing my own recipe.... But just can't get it right like Nora's can!! Blueberry pancakes (or w/out the fruit)are a go to!!! Service and atmosphere are relaxed and casual with lots of locals frequenting. We've run into multiple friends on different visits, so you'll see some of that too.., locals connecting and saying hi. If it's busy, worth the wait!!! We love this place when we come to the Jackson Hole area. Service is usually pretty quick and the waitstaff is always really friendly. Here lately there been a little short staffed so keep that in mind when you visit. Food is some of the best in the area in my opinion. This is more of a hole in the wall spot that locals go to - you can get away from all of the tourist which is what we like to do even though we are tourists ourselves (don't tell anyone). read more

On a road trip back home and we stopped by this place to get breakfast. It was a Monday and they were able to accommodate a family of 15. The place is casual and clean. Wait staff were nice. I chose to have their banana bread French toast, side of turkey patties, and shared a fruit bowl. The banana French bread was delicious and perfect serving. It was the half order, btw. Everything tasted good and the fruit was fresh. Definitely a good spot to drop through if you are wanting breakfast. read more

My experience here was 5 stars due to the smoked trout salad. It was the best thing I ate during my week in Jackson and I will dream about it until I come back. The fish was delicate (it was steelhead trout by the way); had lots of dill which added a delightful punch; and the crème fraiche dressing was perfectly light and complementary to the fish. My mom had the trout amandine and she loved it too. We also had smoked pork tacos, buttermilk fried chicken, and steak at the table. Which were mediocre. When the place gets full, it is LOUD and hard to carry on a conversation. However still sticking by my five star review. Get that salad guys; you won't regret it. read more

I picked this restaurant because I wanted breakfast for dinner and the description said "breakfast served all day". Well, they in fact only serve breakfast until 2pm. Despite this massive disappointment the food was really outstanding. My daughter had the chicken pot pie which had a buttermilk biscuit on top that was delicious. I had the steak fries and I wish the steak would have been cut before being served. Having a huge skirt steak on top of my fries was a bit awkward. This place is better than the reviews. The rustic decor is charming. There is a nice outdoor area. The bar was busy with locals eating, having a drink and enjoying the football game on TV. We arrived at 7, while we had reservations we didn't need them. Host was friendly. Great server, Kyle, very helpful with dinner choices. My husband had the trout amadine. It was good. Served skin side up so he had to scrap off topping, remove skin and return topping to the fish. Maybe some people eat the nicely seared skin. We don't. I had the elk/pork meatballs. Nicely served with marinara and gooey cheese. The meatballs were a little dry but the sauce helped. The 5 star according to my husband was the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. After an early Spring hike last weekend, we decided to have lunch at Nora's. It wasn't very busy but it took the waiter a few minutes to come by and take our order. I was really in the mood for a sandwich, but there was only a BLT on the menu. I went with the burger, and I substituted the Hoagie Roll for a lettuce wrap, with an upcharge of $2.00. The presentation was a burger, shaped like a Hoagie Roll on a bed of lettuce with the fixings, tomato, onion, and pickle on top. Unfortunately, there was not enough lettuce to make a burger "bun". There was no way I was cutting that Hoagie sized burger in half and using that lettuce as a bun. I tried cutting the burger in half, and only using half of the burger with the lettuce as a bun with all the fixings, but it was far too messy. I just ate it with a fork and knife. You really need to use Iceberg lettuce, and probably like 1/4 of a head of lettuce to get enough leaves to make a sturdy "bun". I think it was ridiculous that I had to pay $2.00 extra for that lettuce wrap. Won't be ordering that again... It also, took quite a while to get our check. read more

This place has changed since the original owners sold it. Breakfast is still good but coffee isn't hot so I had to send it back. The bar dining was my favorite as I knew several of the regulars. However they modified the bar with a new area for wine bottles and just stuff. They ruined dining at the bar. There is not enough room! I don't see the regulars there like I use to. Service was good but not fantastic. I may try it again but then prices are double what they were. I'm going to have to really think twice before I spend money like that again. read more
