This was my first time in this bakery/ coffee shop and I have been to many around the world. The attitude from the cashiers was thick. There is no customer service whatsoever. For example, I asked for a warm croissant. There was no mistake in my order. I said it twice. The young lady at the cashier stuck it in a bag and slapped it on the counter. I then asked for it warm. She said they have no way to warm it but said it was bakery fresh. It's 9:30am... what does that mean to me...or any customer? If I ask for it to be warm, that is how I want it... if you can't do that just tell me before charging me. The manager came over and asked that the issue was. I explained it to him. He then explained that they don't warm things up. I said, "no issue. I just don't feel I should pay for it if it is not the way I requested. He agreed. Then one of his employees stepped in and said, "just keep it. I said I don't want it. She responded with, loudly as almost to embarrass me, "we are going to throw it away because we can't resell it!" This is not a place I would recommend if you like customer service, positive attitudes in the morning and/or a place where you can order food how you like it. This is a place that sells expensive overpriced bakery items and feels it is ok for its staff to be rude and indignant to its customers and does not cater to their customers needs. They get away with it because they get a lot of transient customers who simply don't care about the experience. That's ok for some, but for me, not for me. read more

I came here twice. Both times, I was greeted, and my order was taken quickly. One note is that I had some questions about the drinks and food the barista seemed confused and unsure. For instance, she told me that a side came with the sandwich I ordered, which was incorrect. While waiting for my order (which came out quickly), it was nice to look around and take in the decor. It was very tastefully decorated inside. The first time, I shared some food. It was good, but very expensive. I got a salad (22$) and a ham sandwich. The sandwich was 16$, which wasn't worth it. One slice of ham and one slice of cheese. The salad was fresh and flavorful. You can tell the ingredients are of high quality, but I don't know how people can afford this place regularly. The second time I went, I ordered two drinks to-go. One coffee, which was good. I found that a lot of coffee places in town don't know how to pull espresso, but my coffee was soo smooth. It made me happy! The second drink was incorrect. I ordered a matcha and didn't notice till I got home, and it was coffee. My companion, for whom I got it, was very sad, as they don't drink coffee. Its self seating so you have to be semi-aggressive to actually get a table. Food and atmosphere is great. I love this place. Bakery meets tiny shop meets good coffee and great staff. Also such a vibe. It's the kind of place they you take a book to, grab a pastry and a coffee, and relax or go to with a girlfriend to sit and talk over coffee. I am also particular about cold brew. Some places have cold brew that tastes like iced coffee and others have the rich and sweet satisfying cold brew. Persephone has the satisfying kind. Definitely recommend. I was already away from the store so I couldn't take them back. Latte was bitter and also tasted like it wasn't a good pull. I love coming here for breakfast when I'm in the Jackson area. It's adorable and has some great breakfast options. Pricey, though. The kouignamann is my favorite pastry and they do have it here but sadly the last time I tried it here it was not as good as it was previously. My go to is the seeded avocado bowl. Mmm mmm mmm mouth watering pastries galore. They have a huge variety of different types of pastries for whatever mood you're in/whatever it is you're craving. We were just visiting the area but after coming here on our first day, we knew we had to come back every morning for the duration of our stay. You truly can't go wrong with anything you order. Our favorite though was the strawberry rhubarb pastry, lemon lavender pound cake, and their chocolate chip walnut cookies. They really nailed it with the flakiness on the strawberry rhubarb pastry and the fruit mixed in with the cream made it the perfect summer pastry. Their cookies were so good, we bought their mini packs of it to bring back for friends/family. We dined in for one of the mornings and it is a very modern, cute, chic place. We recently spent 10 days in MT and WY. This place was by far one of our favorites. I think of 4 days in Moose/Wilson we ate here or got coffee here 3 times. Amazing pastry bar, delicious menu items and they have a good local following and locals even have their own line!! So cool! Food comes out quickly especially considering how busy they get. Beet ricotta salad was with little gems, roasted beets, herbed maple ricotta, citrus & fresh herb vinaigrette, and pumpkin seed crumble, accompanied by slices of fresh bread, it was so yummy. The portion is on the light side. But it was perfect for a quick, yet delicious lunch. We also got their freshly baked multigrain loaf, cherry frangipane and strawberry avocado croissant to go. They were well made and delicious as well. The service was efficient and quick. The decoration is cute. The large outdoor patio has many seats, along E Broadway. So it can get quite noisy. This is so my kinda place. Expensive - but delicious. They had tons of fresh-baked goodies on display and all looked wonderful. I tried a maple pumpkin bread, a scone, and a cinnamon bun over the few days we stayed nearby. They're nice to get and take as a snack after a long hike or day at the park. We tried the yogurt parfait, the kale and cauliflower and a scallion and cheese egg biscuit. Everything was delicious and this location is super cute and reminds me of a NYC or DC coffee shop bustling with people with nearby tables where you order at the front and seat yourself. We were very excited to try this place, but the person taking our order was very rude to us and condescending. My wife asked for a latte with 2%. Understandably, they only had whole milk or skim. When my wife asked if they can just mix the skim with the whole milk, the employee said "no, we can't mix our milks." When I asked why they can't do that, she said "because it wouldn't be 2%." When I asked if she could just do it anyway, she said no again. This felt like she went out of her way to be rude, condescending, and unaccommodating. We don't care if it isn't the same as 2%. How easy would it have been for her just to pour both in the cup, especially when you're paying $8-$10 for a latte?! We ended up just putting half and half in the cup afterwards. This has been our only experience in Jackson so far where we have experienced unfriendly service. The breakfast sandwiches were just ok. Atmosphere was charming. Following a recommendation from a local, we stopped here for breakfast. He told us the pastries and cookies are top notch. We got there at opening since we had early reservations in the park. First let me say it's expensive. My Midwest practicality made me cringe a bit at $35 for croissant, muffin and coffee. But the croissant was the best I have ever tasted.
