We had a really disappointing experience at the Sizzler in Chatsworth tonight. Our server seemed distracted and forgot several items from our order, then oddly tried to upsell us on an entrée that we already ordered and paid for. When we went to the salad bar, there was no jello left, and when we asked about it, we were told they were completely out -- even though it was only 6:30 p.m., not even close to closing time. The ice cream machine only had vanilla, which felt like another letdown considering the usual Sizzler variety. Throughout the meal, our server kept saying the missing items would "be right out," but they never came. For the price and reputation, we expected much better service and food availability. Sadly, this visit was below subpar and left us disappointed. The seating arrangement is also really small compared to their newer and updated locations in Ontario and Hesperia. This location really needs an upgrade in looks and in service. Unfortunately I won't be returning anytime soon unless something changes. read more

Worst experience ever. We drive 25 minutes to eat at this sizzler. We get there at 8:25 p.m. The doors are locked. The places got people in it. And they say they're closed but it says on the internet that they close at 9:30 p.m.. there's a sign on the door that says they close at 9:00 p.m. but the employees won't open the door. Had to add another review. I finally had the opportunity to have my steak and lobster dinner. My husband and I ended up being disappointed with our baked potato's. Sizzler used to be great. However, this location is one of the worst restaurants I have ever visited. It is amazing that they are still around. First visit was in July. It was really hot (near 100F), but they refused to turn on air conditioning. I literally thought I was going to pass out from the heat. Came back again about 6 months later to see if things improved. It got even worse. The weather was cooler outside, but it was still warm inside. Overheard another customer talking to a waitress. They said it was too hot for them and they had to remove their shirt and just wear their t-shirt. That customer also said they ran a restaurant and wanted to speak with their manager about it. Now on to the food. We just ordered the salad bar and regret not looking at it first before paying. The items looked terrible. Hot items were barely warm and looked like they were sitting all day without replacement. Customers were afraid to take most of it. We only took what they brought out fresh, which was minimal and they only did it because we asked them for wings. They only put out about 10 wings for the whole place. The entire salad bar was disgusting. The only normal looking items I could eat besides lettuce were beans. However, they even managed to mess that up by undercooking them, so they became basically inedible. We tried some of their ice cream, but that tasted like ice with some sugar added to it. They had coffee cups, but when asked about coffee for them, they said they don't have any. Just avoid this place. read more

Having come by a few more times since a recent visit where I gave it 5 stars for nostalgia sake, I will not recommend a visit. The inconsistency of quality, lack of courtesy from the wait staff and my steak being cooked burnt well done when I requested medium rare over and over, you realize that you're paying to eat beef jerky rather than a steak. So the salad bar is pretty straight forward. Nothing special. The chicken wings were not bad. The salad area was fresh and nothing seemed old/spoiled there. The entire time I was there, someone was tending to the buffet bar and that was to refill or clean it. For the most part, the food was just ok. Nothing to write home about. So we drove close to an hour to the closest location to us. The place was clean and the staff was very pleasant. The food tasted good and it was a great trip down memory lane. And you pay an order beforehand take ur receipt to your table then a server will come and see what you ordered and bring it to you. Two stars for a wonderful waitress. Missing three stars because of the rude and unprofessional manager. We have been coming to Sizzler every year on my late mother's birthday because it was her favorite restaurant. This tradition is deeply meaningful to us. Our group is always large, usually around fifteen people, and we are clearly spending a lot of money. This year alone, our bill was over four hundred dollars. Unfortunately, the manager at the Chatsworth location was incredibly rude and disrespectful. It was upsetting and honestly embarrassing to witness how he treated both us and the server. I especially felt bad for our server, who was very kind, attentive, and professional throughout the entire visit. When we walked in, the manager was at the counter. He turned and looked directly at me but said nothing. Just gave me a cold, unpleasant glare. After a moment, he finally asked how many were in our group and then immediately began shouting instructions at the server about where to seat us. There was no greeting and no courtesy. Later, my father's order was missing. I asked the server about it and she went to check. My brother, who was at the salad bar, overheard the manager becoming angry and telling her to tell me to check my receipt again. His tone was aggressive and completely uncalled for. After spending hundreds of dollars, we are not trying to take a thirty dollar meal for free. If the order was missed, I was ready to pay for it. There was no need for the attitude. When I spoke with him again at the cashier, he was just as unfriendly and dismissive. No apology, no professionalism, and no attempt to make the situation right. On top of the poor service, the food has really gone downhill. The steak quality has been declining over the years, but now the lobster was borderline inedible. It was mushy and tasted like it was not properly cleaned or cooked. We continue to come to Sizzler to honor our mom, but she would be disappointed to know we wasted money on bad food and even worse service. But I believe it's only one per person. :( - Chicken Noodle Soup: Reminds me of the Progresso version but that's not necessarily a bad thing. - Crispy Chicken wings: I got these right when they came out and they were fresh out of the fryer. Yummy, despite all the breading. I still ate it. LOL - Nachos with ground beef: This is something that reminds me of something I could make at home. Ground beef with taco seasoning, nacho cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole. - Spaghetti with Marinara: I really didn't like this. I wish they had a meat sauce versus just marinara. I knew I would try it so I got very little, but the first bite already left less than a desirable taste in my mouth. - Cornbread: I wish I had butter and honey. By itself was okay, but I wanted to make it my own. I didn't attempt to eat any salad after trying almost all the hot foods. They had an area with prepare salads and an area to make your own. I didn't indulge in either. The staff is great. They are all very attentive and sweet. The little nice older lady who reminds me of an aunt said "Save room for ice cream." That was so cute! My mother picked Sizzler for dinner out. I must say for what it is the food was decent and the prices were responsible. The salad bar has a huge selection of greens, veggies and fruits. The service for the most part was ok, nothing that shines. I ordered the Rib eye steak with baked potato. My mother ordered a NY steak with baked potato as well and salad. We both ordered our steaks Med and we received them more like well done. Anyhow we didn't complain because they took a mega long time to bring out our food and mind you the restaurant was not busy when we arrived, which was around 5pm on a Saturday evening.
