Nathan was incredibly helpful and took the time to explain the entire menu to us, which made ordering so much easier. He had an awesome personality and made us feel really welcomed from the start. With a claim like that, I definitely had to try it. I wasn't disappointed! The variety of options was great (among the expected nigiri and sashimi, they offer some unique Mexican/Japanese fusions that are quite good), the portions were large, and the price was more than reasonable. Jess was a great waitress, very attentive, positive and helpful. The location was bustling, so this isn't where you want to go if you're looking for a quiet meal, but I found the environment pleasant for a nice Friday lunch. First time here and honestly not sure how I never realized this place is all-you-can-eat sushi. Going in, I didn't have super high expectations since AYCE usually means you're sacrificing quality a bit. That said, the food wasn't bad... just not great either. The biggest thing for me was the rice to fish ratio. If they cut the rice in half, it would make a huge difference across the rolls. It's very much an Americanized sushi spot with a menu to match, even labeling some items as "Mexican inspired," which kind of tells you what to expect. We ended up ordering a la carte and the prices were reasonable, but for what we spent, we probably could've had noticeably better quality fish at Sugarfish. On the plus side, we got really lucky with parking and only waited about 10 minutes on a Friday night, which was impressive. They seem to have a quick turnaround, and the staff were genuinely great and attentive. Overall, not a terrible experience, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way to return to. read more

I did the exact opposite by coming here and opted for the ayce sushi. Yes, I was a bad girl who went ahead and ordered about 10 different items in the first round. My favorite was the carpaccio. However, they allow only one of each kind per person. I also loved the sashimi salad and salmon skin salad. The street corn was also a fave of mine so I ordered it again on my second round. Took my parents to visit family in The Valley, and this is where the wanted to treat us to dinner. Is this the best? No. But, friendly service and small portions of rice when ordering sushi makes this a good place to visit. Hikari Sushi has a parking lot that is always packed. Therefore, the tight dining room has the hustle and bustle of happy Sushi customers. Their menu options are divided into two parts - AYCE and à la carte. The former is priced well, but does not include unlimited sashimi selections. I opted for the latter menu and chose the sashimi sampler. At $21.99 you get the miso soup and 2 pieces each of salmon, tuna, yellowtail and albacore. The soup was wonderful. When the main dish arrived, I was blown away. I must say, I have never seen such thick cuts of this core sashimi offering anywhere. At this reasonable price point, it is the place to go to, if you are a die hard Sashimi fan. It knocks out the competition. Everything makes sense. There is a reason this place has over 4k reviews, almost 4k photos, and averages 4.5 stars on Yelp. So I came yesterday with my wife at around 8 and what weirds me out about this place is every single time I come here there is different people working and the service is decent they do come around the table a lot but let's get to the food the sushi yesterday was very rubbery and didn't taste fresh at all. I have been here multiple times and like they brought me stuff I didn't even order. Always on the hunt for AYCE sushi so I had to try this place in chatsworth. I like the variety of appetizers and rolls. I like their Mexican inspired options as well. The aguachile sushi was so good! Me and my bf were craving sushi so we decided to give this place a try. Honestly, it was a bit lackluster for the whopping 100 dollars we paid There is nothing very special about this place. This inside is alright; it could use a bit of a makeover. The service wasn't the best -- our server wasn't great or attentive and it kinda felt like he was just banking on the gratuity. We were never checked in on and come to think of it, I don't think our server said more than two complete sentences to us. The sushi was good but nothing else. There wasn't anything that really stood out or that would make me want to come back. Now let's talk about the real kicker. This place charges a 15% (parties 1-4) and 18% (more than 5) gratuity fee which I haven't seen anyone else mention. For two AYCE after 3, it's about $73. We got a drink that was $5. After tax and the gratuity, it was $100. Genuinely, i've been to nice places with better AYCE sushi for less than this. OH and to top it off for those who want to do take out, they charge 10% gratuity . After charging us for gratuity, they still wanted us to tip -- yeah no thanks. I'd give it like a 5.5/10. Let me start off by saying that this was my first time having sushi. My expectations for my first experience were set accordingly. I went in on a busy Friday night. I had to wait about 20-25 minutes to be seated, but that was expected. I'm surprised that the wait times were not longer than that. I had already looked at the menu prior to arriving, so I already knew exactly what I wanted to order. I ordered the following items: Appetizers: mozzarella sticks, Sweet Street Corn Bowl, Shishito Peppers, Shrimp Tempura, Creamy Shrimp Tempura, Gyoza Rest of the food: Golden Tiger Roll, Bora Bora Roll, Burning Sensation Roll, Cajun Camaron roll, Philly Deep Roll, Jalapeno Bomb All of the appetizers were solid, and the tempura was crispy without being greasy. Let's get to the rolls! The rolls were beautifully presented, and the balance of flavors was excellent. The standout was their Bora Bora roll (In: shrimp tempura, cucumber, crabmeat. Out: spicy crabmeat on the top), which combined unique ingredients in a way that enhanced the overall dining experience. The portions were generous. Each piece was well-crafted, and the rolls were filling, but not too overwhelming. The flavors exceeded my expectations. Now for the service! Let me start off by saying that I received some of the best service that I have ever received in any restaurant. My server was very attentive, helpful, knowledgeable and he went the extra mile during my visit. He gave me excellent recommendations based on my preferences. He took it one step further by even offering the perfect sauces to compliment my food. One of the sauces, the fire salsa, elevated my meal to new heights. I finally met my match when it comes to spice. That sauce had a very high level of heat. It was perfect for my spice tolerance. The ambiance leans towards a modern and inviting atmosphere. The setting strikes a balance between casual and elegant, making it suitable for both a casual meal and a more special dining experience. Overall, this restaurant gets a perfect 5/5 rating from me.
