Love coming here for lunch. Great service, great prices, and fresh sushi. Nearly every table was filled with patrons and the service was still spot on while being so crowded.

Asahi Sushi in Granada Hills was such a great find. The quality of the fish really stands out--everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We especially loved the Lemon Yuzu Seared Scallop Crudo (super bright and refreshing) and the Toro Toast, which was rich, buttery, and topped with caviar for an elevated touch. The Osaka Premium Sushi Combo is perfect for sharing and showcases a great variety of delicate, high-quality cuts. They also have a wide selection of rolls, so there's something for everyone. Overall, a solid spot for both classic sushi and unique dishes--definitely coming back!

We were looking for a sushi spot after my boys event in Granada hills and this spot has a lot of reviews. As soon as we got here I realized I have been here maybe a couple of years ago. The wait time on a Friday night after 9am was still about 15+ minutes. First thing I noticed was their menus. It's the same template as Koppan Ramen. When we got seated I also noticed the seats/booths are the same. Maybe they used the same designer. Onto the food, my son is in his unagi phase so he got the unagi hand roll and unagi sushi, I got the calamari and soft shell crab to share, my other son got the mini negi toro don and Benjie roll. I got the Snow White roll, halibut and yellow tail roll. Loved the soft shell and the mini toro don. Price was pretty good. Our server Louis was attentive and nice. I flagged another server to check on my order and he got a bit of attitude so docked a star for that. Acoustics is not so good, the table in front of us was a bit loud and I can hear their conversation.

Met a friend for lunch and we ended up at Asahi honestly, such a solid choice. They have a great selection of lunch specials, and I went with the late lunch box. It came with miso soup, a fresh salad, a sushi roll, and your choice of protein and rice perfectly portioned and super satisfying. Naturally, we couldn't pass up a tall glass of Hite to go with it . Service was on point. We were seated almost immediately, our order was taken quickly, and the food hit the table surprisingly fast (always a win during lunch hours). Heads up: parking can be a little tricky since the shopping center gets pretty congested with neighboring businesses. Overall, great food, efficient service, and a reliable spot for a casual lunch. We'll definitely be back!

Great food fresh sushi and amazing service. It's a perfect date night. Wife stressed out with work so sushi will fixed it. We will be back for some more. All we tried tonight was delish and it's so hard to choose from their menus

Though Asahi Sushi has been around for such a long time, today was my first time giving it a proper chance and I am soooo happy I did. I definitely see it becoming one of my favorite sushi spots. There's a very classy but cozy vibe to the ambiance, staff is welcoming and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious! I really loved the spicy garlic edamame and out of all the rolls we ordered, the Pink Lady was my favorite. All of the fish was super fresh and I think all of the rolls we ordered had a great combination of ingredients. The price seemed to be pretty standard for most à la carte sushi restaurants and for the quality and flavor, it's definitely worth it.

Ambiance: Great! Haven't been here for more than 15 years... I was pleasantly surprised at the tasteful remodel! Beautiful booths and softly lit light boxes for their decor was both tasteful and functional. Food was fine, no complaints. Service was also good. I think that the money invested in the interior is being paid for by the customer. The food was presented well, but the quality and execution was neither good or bad.

My friend has eaten here plenty of times and recommended it to me. I met her for lunch and today was my first time dining here. There was no wait at all and parking was easy (plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot... no charge). We got seated right away and the staff and our server (Koko) were very friendly and attentive. As far as the food, the sushi was just ok. Overly priced although I heard their prices use to be a lot lower prior to remodeling. I eat sushi often and I've had better for less. They definitely have a lot of options on the menu (something for everyone).

The good: Bora Bora Luau Roll, Balboa roll, spicy tuna, spicy albacore, energy roll, red dragon roll, green dragon roll. :)

What happened, Asahi? Prices went up but size and quality took a huge hit. The fancy shmancy rolls that cost a bunch are literally half the size and not as fresh. I was chalking up the difference a few times during to different chefs or whatever but it kept happening. What an absolute shame. Hard pass.

If you like and enjoy sushi at it finest then this place is for you. This has been our go to place since 2018 Great place great service great dammmmmmm food. I'm never dissatisfied or disappointed but I can tell you this the place around the corner has no competition nor even close to serving the quality of sushi that ASAHI has to offer. Believe me when I say it. This place is EFEN GREAT!!!!!! NOTE: these are only 3 of 10 dishes we had tonight!!!!!!!

Food and service are always great here! They also renovated the interior of the restaurant not long ago and it looks great. Would highly recommend Asahi to anyone looking for good quality food!

I'm very confident that this place has great options which is why I'm bing lenient with my rating. I think I just got something underwhelming. My plate came in a martini glass and I was honestly expecting a few more pieces of fish idk. Otherwise, I really want to come back here and try the rest of the menu items, everything is priced very well and the fish is very fresh.

Service sure has gone down since we were here last. Came by this morning basically when they opened and no one else was there. For 10 pieces of Nigiri Sushi, you would think that would come out quickly, it took SO long, maybe like a 20 min wait?? So odd since there was literally no one else there.. we ordered to go for this small meal (luckily had other food but needed this for reference on keycap making). Delicious sushi which is why I haven't lowered my rating so drastically but I think my biggest gripe is the tipping system. Pay attention to your receipts!! My bf paid and decided to tip with some cash he had, not much but a little something, even if it was a To-Go order. He gets the receipt and there's an AUTOMATIC 10% tip for to-go orders. Mind boggling and they don't even tell you beforehand so that's not cool. The only reason we decided to come here was just because we were running early errands and this was the only one close enough that opened that early (11:30am). Sticking to our regular sushi spots from now on. IG: @ammysalamii

Been trying to call, is there another number? The one here is busy?

Not that I'm aware of. I always start calling super early in anticipation of constant busy lines. I've found they get overwhelmed with takeout calls very easily

It's no wonder I've missed it all these years -- but since Yelp already named it their #1 Burger Spot all the way back in 2017, it's clear I'm exceptionally late to a party others have been enjoying quite some time. The differences are obvious the moment you walk in, with a modest but well-kept decor of good quality furnishings feeling far more homey than the usual corner stand. The clientele is a mix of blue collar workers, white collar workers, and retirees, all eating from the surprisingly varied menu. Burgers are the first star you notice, sporting a number of interesting preparations with both American and Korean flare. And it's that Korean flare that's highlighted on the rest of the menu, which features a range of BBQ meats and other specialties served on sizzling platters or in combination bowls. You order at the counter, which allows you a view of the burners with pans of seafood and beef simmering in homemade sauces and giving off an irresistible aroma. But resist them I did, as I'd come in to try their oft-lauded burger. I ordered the Spicy Jalapeño, built with a freshly grilled Angus patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, shredded cabbage, fresh (raw) slices of jalapeños, crispy onion rings, and a duet of special sauces: garlic aioli and Korean BBQ. It was a big bite of a burger, held together by a much-appreciated, tightly folded wrapper. But I've gotten slightly ahead of myself. It's important to first note that the burgers are truly made to order, and you wait about 10 minutes for your food to be ready. That's more than okay, because the quality is evident from the first bite. The beef is good; flavorful and cooked to a juicy medium, the cheese properly melted and gooey. The veggies are all fresh, and those sliced jalapeños really packed a punch -- raw is so much better than pickled. On to those special sauces, thankfully NOT another variation of the Russian dressing "burger and fry sauce" that seems relentlessly present everywhere nowadays. Here, they use a garlic aioli that keenly balanced between sweet and spicy (in that garlicky spicy way); they pair that with a sweet, Korean style BBQ, with Asian flavors that cleverly contrast the sweetness of the aioli. Yes, 2 different sweets hitting against the garlic and the jalapeños. In Van Nuys? Come on!! For a little over $5 you make it a combo, with a very generous portion of nicely crispy fries and a 20oz drink. At $16.50, this is a great deal. And all around me, folks were eating the Korean BBQ or chicken, and it all smelled exactly as good as it did when it was simmering on the stove. This place is a major find, even if everyone else found it before me. I'll be back very soon, and probably soon after that.

It's such a unique Korean-Mexican fusion spot -- flavors you truly won't find anywhere else. The combination sounds unexpected, but somehow it works perfectly. We've tried a few different items over the years, but the Chicken Korean Fries are our absolute favorite every time. Nothing like it exists. The flavors are bold, layered, slightly sweet, savory, and just combined so deliciously. It's one of those dishes you crave again and again. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall spot in a small shopping center -- super unassuming -- but don't let that fool you. It's 100% a must-try. The menu features various dishes, including cheeseburger, DRAGON sushi, rib eye, and even tacos de pescado, ensuring everyone finds something enjoyable to eat. The quality of the dishes is acceptable: neither very tasty nor very unappetizing. As far as prices go, I would say they were reasonable considering the amount of food provided. However, one downside of this restaurant worth pointing out is that portions here are relatively small. Therefore, if you come here with your whole family, better make sure you're not too hungry since the portions won't be sufficient to feed everyone. To sum up, I think this is a great option if you are looking for a clean place where you can have a nice lunch or dinner and try different dishes. The service was somewhat slow. Just happened to drop in on a Thursday Happy Hour so Sushi Rolls were 50% off. It was not busy being the early middle part of rush hour on the road. Was greeted and seated quick. The whole menu looks so exciting though the prices are a bit high, made it hard to decide what to try. I opted to try sushi this time around since I was solo. Rolls were good portioned not skimpy but I would opt for lighter rice if possible if planning to eat plenty. Sister Sister Roll came first. Sauce or onions or both combined made a strong bitter taste but good. The Albacore from top tasted good alone while the roll itself was good. Very often when I try latino fusion sushi the rice gets too sweetened or not at all. The rice tasted not sweetened but seasoned enough and still slightly warm with good texture. I believe they may have used some proper sushi rice here rather than just any rice. Then came the Agua Chile and Mango Habanero Roll. All three rolls came well garnished accordingly, maybe even heavy. Agua Chile had a fresh tart taste. Mango Roll was strong with the sweetness as good mango should. Server was frequent in checking on me, refilled my water before I even had to ask. No appetite for dessert this time around as I was on an empty stomach. The room had Latino music playing and multiple TVs. Elegant Decor without feeling too upscale. Definitely come with an appetite and another person. That side is named Kusina Ni Kuya and has a vast catering menu. I came here for a carry out from the Cajun side and picked as I did before, the half pound shrimp. The only difference is this time, I opted for the peeled version. This was prepared in the house Kuya sauce, medium spicy, with an extra of boiled okra. The dish did not disappoint and was consistent in texture and flavor, and a glorious mixture of spices as before. This entrée has a lot of oil added to it, but that is what brings out this burst of taste and satisfaction. Everything was soaked with the thick sauce. This time what I did at home was, I boiled a few golden premium small potatoes with skin, sliced them into quarters and added it to the mix. Once it soaked up the gravy of the shrimp dish, the potatoes ascended to a totally different level. So how does the peeled version compare to the whole shrimp version? I would say that the whole shrimp selection is the way to go. The meat is not overcooked and you get the flavor off the shrimp shells too, that kicks it up more than a notch. In addition, the fact that you have to use your fingers to get to the shrimp meat (though messy), heightens the pleasure of the dining experience.

Not some sad, watered-down, reheated nonsense like other places try to pass off--I got REAL Cajun seafood. Properly cooked. Properly seasoned. Actually worth paying for. I ordered crawfish, clams, mussels, and head-on shrimp, and every single tray came out piping hot, drenched in that bold, garlicky, buttery sauce that hits you like a freight train. Not bland. Not timid. Not "lightly seasoned for the masses." No--this is full-flavor, unapologetic, get-it-all-over-your-hands Cajun. The crawfish? Seasoned all the way through, not just dusted on the outside like some lazy joke. Other spots--take notes. The shrimp? Perfectly cooked, heads packed with flavor. If you're scared of that, stay home and order chicken tenders. The clams and mussels? Clean, tender, not a single one questionable--which already puts them ahead of places charging MORE and serving LESS. And then the sides--this is where it gets ridiculous. Boiled okra, sweet corn, quail eggs, all soaked in that same sauce? That's not a side--that's a statement. Everything is absorbing flavor like it's supposed to. No shortcuts. No laziness. Just execution. And here's what really separates them from the clowns-- the quality never dropped. You keep ordering, they keep delivering heat. Same flavor. Same intensity. No "second round is worse" nonsense. That's what happens when a kitchen actually knows what it's doing. Meanwhile, other seafood spots are out here charging premium prices for bland, overcooked garbage and calling it "Cajun." Stop it. Just stop. This is how it's DONE. Messy. Bold. Loud. Flavor in your face. Hands covered in sauce. Zero regrets. If you leave Cajun Ni Kuya unsatisfied, don't blame the restaurant--blame your taste buds. I'll be back. And I'm bringing an appetite that's ready for war.

We started off with Steamed Chicken Dumplings, Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp and Jasmine Tea. The Dumplings were fine, the soup had a nice lemon grass broth, lots of mushrooms and about five full shrimp. We moved on the the Krapow with chicken, which was very tasty. Drunken Noodles with Beef was also very nice, and then we had two curries with chicken - The Yellow Curry and the Massaman Curry. Both were served in a Yellow curry sauce. The subtle difference was the cinnamon braised chicken in the Massaman curry, otherwise both dishes tasted the same and were very good. This was a delicious meal and a very pleasant experience. The service was excellent and the vibe inside is comfortable, relaxing and sleek. They don't have low sodium soy sauce, but they have plenty of good spice options which they will bring to the table upon request. There is also a large parking lot in the back, which is very convenient. As much as I like the Toluca Lake location, I think I like this spot better. The larger dining room has more space between tables, but it still maintains an intimate vibe. The menus are identical. Tasty food, great service and an enjoyable atmosphere. I'm a fan!
