Service: The staff was not that friendly and only had one glove on while serving. You would think staff working with raw fish would have more caution. Food: Its an open fish bar and the fish display doesn't look great. The fish container wasn't refilled and I got served the last crumbs of it. She also dropped cucumber slices and picked them up with her nail extensions then put it back in MY bowl so quickly (with the hand that didn't have the glove on). read more

We were here last week and ordered the same fish and everything and it was yummy, but unfortunately this time it wasn't good. The fish didn't taste good at all, it tasted rancid, and it affected the entire two bowls... so we ate some of the toppings but the picture below is what is left over. Super disappointing. Pokitomik might be my new fave poke spots in the valley. I was a huge fan of the flavors, options, and portion sizes. They don't skimp out on their servings. There's many many different options for toppings (including mango, heck ya). Some places don't offer mango so I appreciate that. They have many different sauces that go on top too. I got the hawaiian habanero which was spicy!!! But very good. Spicy tuna was good. Salmon was good. Everything felt super fresh. The customer service was super friendly. Prices were normal for poke. Y'all, the customer service and the handling of the food is beyond questionable at this point. I usually go to the pokitomik in woodland hills, and i'll continue going there since this location's staff loves to touch their hair and not wear any protection to prevent hair or cross contamination in the food. I was about to order when the guy itched his HEAD and then served me. I actually couldn't do it, and ended up not eating the bowl and going to another restaurant who has better hygiene than this. Store was a bit dirty and not organized as well.. dude in the spider-man shirt, get your stuff together! that's disgusting that your management allows that attire, attitude and service in your store. Two items I selected are excellent - The shell of the Taco is crispy and ingredients I selected are very fresh. Burrito is also super fresh and tasty with two of six sauces I selected. Oh my goodness sushi taco and burrito yes PLEASE!!!! First off I prefer rolls with soy paper because I find seaweed overwhelms the flavor of sashimi so I was SO happy they had a soy wrap option! The fish and the veggies were all excellent quality I got two different fresh tuna's. I don't even eat hot Cheetos normally but I sure did put them on the outside of this wrap and what a delightful little extra flavor of salt and spice for this. I very much enjoyed the salmon taco as well. I am glad that this is nearby a work spot that I have to go to from time to time because this is such an excellent treat basically eating a ginormous sushi roll and tartares to go (the tacos) . I love all of the topping choices, onions and avocado and crispy, garlic and cucumbers to name a few. Great sauces too- wasabi cream, jalapeños cram cheese, chili lime and mango yuzu to name a few! I read on another Yelp post of another Pokitomik location that this Northridge spot is the best one of all so I'm glad I nailed it on my first try picking this one ha. I had their sushi burrito and it was a little on the blander side but that's totally my fault as I didn't ask for any sauce to be added. Ordering is like Subway/Chipotle style so they make everything to order. Their interior is cute with an Instagramable background for photo ops. Their service is good as well. They were patient with me as I've never ordered here in person before and always get a little flustered when ordering this way. And also I had asked her to repeat herself more than once lol. I was thankful for her patience. Their parking lot is horrible and that corner is super busy so if you can't find parking the first round you'll have to either double park to wait for an opening or circle the block and try again. read more

The worker did a good job at explaining what everything was and how the customization worked. As for the food it was splendid I personally ordered a burrito wrap with beans, picked sea weed, beans, sweetened salmon, spicy tuna, and mayo. Additionally it is big enough for the 2 of us. The service is really good! The food is even more amazing! I've never had such cheap poke that is so incredibly fresh. And they do not skip out in portion sizes too. This is the only place in the area that does sell sushi burritos so it's pretty great! As a CSUN student you can get a 10% discount if you show them your ID and it is so nice to see that they support college students with very limited funs. Two years later, and this place still hasn't failed me. My go-to order (from my previous review) is still just as good, and it's my staple every time I visit. The owner, Austin, is almost always there, and he never fails to spark up an interesting conversation, which makes the experience even better. I don't really enjoy giving poor reviews, but this is the third time I've tried this place, and the third time I've had a bad experience. Poké is one of my favorite meals, so I've eaten at most of the poke places in the area. This is unfortunately one of my least liked. For some reason, each time, they drowned the poke in sauce. I ordered on postmates, where it allows you to choose the level of marination. I chose medium twice, light once. The added picture is medium marination. As you can see, nearly half the container is filled with sauce. The rice soaked up as much as it could and the flavor of the sauced drowned out all the other flavors of the poke. Once I got about halfway through, I had to stop and throw it out. I also had forgotten not to order avocado. For some reason, they mush up their avocado in a sort of guac mush, but it's not guac. It's just a scoop of mashed avocado. Not very pleasant. All other poke places I've eaten at provide slices. They don't have many options for proteins compared to some other nearby spots, no brown rice, and I'm not sure about the freshness of their spring mix... there was so much sauce, that I couldn't tell if the greens were wilted or just overly wet. Not very tasty. Hopefully, I've just gotten unlucky here, because it seems most people enjoy it here. If not and these are patterns of theirs, please know there are other poke places in the area that provide better experiences. read more

We usually go to a different Pokitomik, this location was closer to us today. First impression are important for any kind of business, their workers need to be retrained on customer service. we were in the area so we decided to get poke and absolutely loved it. We love the staff there. They were so sweet and Customer Service was awesome. The only thing that was a little hard was parking. It was in a smaller lot and we would have to wait for an empty spot, but I really like the location. It is right across the street from Cal State Northridge, which is super cool. This place is really awesome and I love the environment. I love this wall that they have that you can take a picture there and it is very clean. The food was very fresh and I love the sauces that they put on top. My favorite is the taco!! so delish!! Love love, love the food and I can't wait to go back again. Finally got to checking this place out-- I was out doing errands and it occurred to me that I needed to eat something for dinner-- and fast. I had the lovely night plans of staying under a blanket and watching more episodes of a show... so I knew I wanted something yummy that I could take home quick! I came in and was immediately greeted by the server. She was the sweetest and I felt her geniune and kind words as she served me what I asked for. I got a large bowl, with all my protein scoops being salmon (I love salmon so much!). I got rice and proceeded customizing my bowl even more from there. She was patient with me and even reassured me when I blindly missed seeing the sauce section (I don't know how). She finished making my bowl quickly and (P.S Yelpers!) I got a 10% discount for checking in to the restaurant before I paid. When I got home, I enjoyed the bowl and couldn't finish it since it was so plentiful. For me, the salmon was nicely flavored but the meat itself didn't taste as flavorful to me as I had tried other poke spots. It was watered down somehow(?), despite me having 3 sauces mixed in. So in general the salmon was alright to me.
