Came here after Easter. Expected it to be super busy for lunch but we were seated fairly quickly. Our server was Alex and he was clearly busy but was attentive, pleasant and checked up on us regularly. The menu had options for two proteins with one potato and one side and all 3 of us went that route. No bloomin onion for us, acid reflux haha. I got the 5 oz sirloin + coconut shrimp with fried and Caesar salad. Everything was great. Really liked the sauce they gave for the shrimp and the salad had ample dressing. The sirloin was medium and flavorful enough without steak sauce. Can't complain for $26.99. Wife got sirloin and ribs with baked potato and house salad. MIL went fancy and got the filet and lobster with potato and Caesar salad. They also both got drinks (I stuck with water). Price came out to about $152 with the 20% tip. Our server, Natalie, was excellent! She gets 5++ stars. Extremely friendly, attentive and offered to take our steaks back, but with my 96 yr old mom, we didn't want to wait. Ribeye and filet were ordered medium well, came out very well done, the filet was butterflied too...not sure why. The blooming onion, baked potatoes, fries and rice were all extremely salty and only took a few bites of the rice and fries. The grilled chicken was perfect. Ordered the Toowomba shrimp and salmon and was a little disappointed because the mushroom room sauce was poured all over the dish. The taste was very peppery and a little salty but the volume applied to the dish was overpowering. In future I will request that the sauce be served on the side. But the 3 pieces of shrimp and good size grilled salmon was excellent. Service was very attentive and really good. The restaurant was typical of the outback style and the restroom was very clean and up to date. Overall I took 2 stars away because of the sauce situation. Very disappointed with the food and the service and to make things worse me and my husband got a mild case of food poisoning! The service was so bad. They have no ketchup on the tables and by the time the waitress remembered to bring it the hamburger was cold. She forgot the drinks! How much can one waitress do when she had to wait on many tables. Ordered an outback burger. Misleading photo with cheese on menu, so I ordered it medium, came home - rare, oily. No cheese. Went online saw it was a $2.99 add for cheese. So 70/30 or 80/20 on the ground beef. Should be 90/10 for the price. So much grease from the high oil meat that my bun was soggy. Description said Pickles and tomato topped - It was on the bottom of the burger not topped AND not seasoned at all. I had to cook it for 3-4 minutes to get it to medium. Not to mention how cold the burger was. Toaster oven additional time was three minutes to try and toast the bun. Blooming onion. Worst one I've had. So salty! Dredge was salty the blooming sauce was salty. Sadly, gross. I added sour cream to lift the salt content on both. And the sauce in the middle not capped well so slight spillage and the bottom of the onion was soggy or oily too. No specials? No. Overall experience was okay. This place used to be a 4.5 for me. Unfortunately not anymore. Sadly I think the end is near. It has been here since the late 90's I've been coming here several times a year only to find out that there is no more porterhouse on the menu! That is laughable for a steakhouse not to offer that after having it ever since its existence. Unfortunately I ended up leaving and myself or family members won't return. It's a bad sign when the best offered steaks are not longer available. Sadly the end of Outback may be near in Northridge a place I've enjoyed with family and friends for nearly 3 decades. Been a hot minute since we've eaten here but decided to take my dad since he's in town visiting and it's been almost 10 years since his last visit. Parking is always a nightmare here. It's a pretty big parking lot but squishy parking and no one knows how to park lol. They always park over the lines leaving no room for the person next to them so we had to park a bit farther than usual. We sat down immediately, my mom, dad, bf and I for a nice dinner. Maria is by far one of the BEST waitresses we've ever had at this place and maybe even in general! She was such a character and absolute sweetheart, she deserves everything. I love when someone is as sweet as her and still has jokes to pass around. She was so observant and always made sure we had what we needed. We had some warm, fresh bread which is a must. Bloomin onion, another must. Asked for extra sauce and she brought it out immediately. The food we ordered came out quickly and absolutely delicious. I went for a smaller meal tonight, tried their shrimp plate which had crispy and garlic butter shrimp which was delicious! I got it with a side of their new loaded Brussels sprouts which I wasn't actually crazy about (surprisingly because I LOVE Brussels). My dad got his baby back ribs that he loved and even had leftovers for tomorrow. My mom got some sort of shrimp and salmon rice plate that was delicious and also plenty of leftovers. My bf got a steak with loaded baked potato and broccolis. We all had such great meals and excellent service, it really makes you want to come back. Wasn't too busy tonight, came around 6pm and still had a bunch of empty tables. Wasn't very loud, people were still respectful. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing dining experience overall. From the beginning, the food was served far too closely together, which made the meal feel rushed and disorganized instead of relaxed and enjoyable. We ordered the sampler appetizer, and it was absolutely not worth the money. The fries were cold, the cheese wasn't melted, and it honestly felt like the plate had been sitting out for a while before being served. Definitely not what you expect from an appetizer meant to showcase the kitchen. For the entrées, my wife ordered the ribeye, which was surprisingly good and ended up being the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, my prime rib was the complete opposite. Despite ordering it medium rare, it came out extremely chewy and tough, making it very disappointing. What made the experience even more frustrating was the hefty bill--nearly $170 for food that was, at best, mediocre. At that price point, you expect quality and consistency, not cold appetizers and poorly prepared entrées. While I do want to acknowledge that the staff was great--friendly, attentive, and clearly trying their best--the quality of the food ultimately ruined the experience. Good service alone can't make up for disappointing food. Overall, this dinner was a letdown, and I would not come back, even though the staff was great.
