I usually don't expect much from a restaurant at a hotel, this restaurant being inside the Doubletree Hotel, but I was so pleasantly surprised with my experience. Grace greeted us with a smile and took us to our table. We were really tired after a long travel day and didn't feel like leaving the hotel to go and find dinner. As we hadn't really eaten much all day, we were starving, so the two of us shared a Cobb Salad with honey mustard, Shrimp Primavera, and Chicken Parmigiana. We were shocked at how big the portions were. Not only were the portions ginormous, but, each entree tasted really good. The Cobb Salad was fresh without any wilted greens. It was chock full of Romaine lettuce, hardboiled eggs, onions, tomatoes, olives, bacon bits, and perfectly grilled sliced chicken breast. The Chicken parm was perfectly cooked, chicken was nicely seasoned and breaded, and the sauce was perfect. The Shrimp Primavera was chock full of large shrimp, bell peppers, olives, onions, mushrooms, and yummy sauce. No complaints about any of the food. Everything was super tasty. Grace was awesome as our drink glasses never went dry, was very attentive with us, and was very efficient and friendly while taking care of us. This was such a nice experience. No, I won't be back. You sank my battleship... literally. Overall experience: 2 stars. Food: barely hanging onto 3 stars. Key Points: 1. Wednesday night dinner, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30. This place should have at least 10 tables hustling & bustling. Instead, we were the only two people inside the entire restaurant. 2. Food: they've had the same Chef for 20 years. Where are the regulars, the repeat customers? 3. They just did a remodel, but maybe they should have remodeled the chef too? The building looks depressing, and so was our experience. I think all they did was just slap some new paint on the walls. Battleship gray on the exterior. Seriously? Of all colors to pick, you couldn't have picked something that was bright and alive like a red, orange, something that made you feel warm and cozy? 4. Inside Atmosphere: sterile, white fake marble all around, with blue lights. Add some smoke and a couple cocktail waitresses, and you have a scene from a Hong Kong gambling casino in 1995. 5. Food: Griglia Scampi Siciliano: Presentation was horrible. 5 pieces, laid flat on a plate. If the shrimp was grilled, you couldn't tell because it was drowned in a loose cream sauce. I did like the Spritz of lemon. But can you cut back 90% of the sauce that was on the plate, and let me see the grill marks? Lasagna: a watery grave.. for the battleship? Layered pasta with ricotta, parmigiana and romano cheese. In the menu it described it as meat sauce, and then topped with marinara. What I got was a can of plain tomato sauce with a ton of dried oregano mixed in. There was no tanginess at all, no zip, no garlic, no onion, no punch. And leave the oregano out! Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara: This was the only dish that had taste. BUT, this is no Carbonara, AND too much sauce... again. Overcooked penne pasta in a parmigiana cream sauce, pancetta, bacon and roasted red peppers. Lots of protein in here, they Don't skimp on the chicken or shrimp. Woooo! Finally 1 dish I semi approve of. Pizza Capricciosa: Not fresh at all, terrible. 14"? Nah, it's more like a 12" of pre cooked "pizza," with mozzarella, ham, mushroom, artichoke & olives. It tasted floury. No semolina/cornmeal on the bottom. This is where they could have used some fresh oregano to make the sauce have some flavor. It felt and tasted like overcooked vegetables on top of a prepackaged dough that they just reheated. 5. Parking: dreamy, huge lot, plenty of open spaces... because No One Wants To Be Here? 6. Phone? Good luck getting ahold of anyone. The number goes straight to the hotel answering system. It's a maze of navigation to try to reach the restaurant, probably 10-20 minutes of hold time. Why don't they have a direct line? 7. Why are you closed for lunch? This place is surrounded by a sprawling business district, with tens of thousands of people wanting good food for lunch. Time to change things up!? 8. Notes to Management: Start Over! a. It's so gloomy inside, all the curtains are closed, there's no tables on the small patio outside. The restaurant is on the Topanga side of the hotel. One of the busiest streets in all of Los Angeles. People driving by don't even know that it exists. The sign for the restaurant Blends in with the Battleship Gray color of the whole hotel. CHANGE THE SIGN. Get some sparkly lights out there, and a BIG Bright sign in a catchy color. b. Your interior needs an entire makeover. I feel like I'm walking into a Tomb at the cemetery. Plants? Greenery? MUSIC? It would have been nice if there was some Italian music playing in the background, or some classy contemporary... anything. c. Your food is drowning in itself. Ease up on the sauce, please. A light coating is all you need. AND Teach your chefs about presentation. You could have skewered the shrimp, and then just done one Thin Line of sauce in a zigzag across the top, with maybe a spoonful of sauce on the side of the plate. Will I be back? Not anytime soon. Sorry. Maybe in 6 months I'll make a return and see if there has been some dramatic changes. But I refuse to pay another $100 plus for slop. read more

I've been coming here to grab a drink after work and honestly, I'm giving this place 5 stars only because of the service I receive from Grace, the bartender. She is very welcoming from the moment I walk in and is very attentive, refilling my drink and listening to my boring life story all night. Also, unlike the other bartenders that were here in the past, she actually knows how to make cocktails like a bartender should. Her professionalism and bright personality is probably what keeps this bar going with a lot of regulars. The food is good too. read more

A secret gem hidden in the lobby of the Radisson Hotel. Which on this occasion was a ghost town due to COVID 19. Our tarbender Louise is a pip, great drink maker and cocktail shaker this side of Ventura Highway. We dined at the bar on the night of my arrival, chicken quesadilla and chicken tacos. Uh yum! Night #2 was a party of five for dinner. We were the lone soldiers in the dining area and the service and attention was stellar. The food- divine. Amazing portions, cooked to perfection and priced accordingly. Should you find yourself at the Radisson, a must. Ps. They have a breakfast buffet to die for - so I'm told. read more

It felt like we were back in the 90's in the best way possible. The overall ambiance and the interior decor was all so fabulously 90's chic. Please don't ever change that charm. When it came time to order I asked our lovely waitress for recommendations. She just said try the salmon. I ordered the salmon and it was surprisingly very festive and yummy. My husband ordered some pasta dish that was ok it was very one dimensional. My critique is that their menu offers too many items which is a bad sign since they are completely disjointed. Malaysian dishes offered in a restaurant named Caprese.. yeah. If you want to have a fun, the office, themed dinner or lunch then this is your spot. I just moved to CA and my brother set me up to stay at the Raddison. I was busy with the move and didn't have any groceries, so I decided to just order room service. It was difficult to decide on what to eat because everything sounded so good! I wanted to order an appetizer since I'm the only one staying at the room. I finally decided to get sausage meatballs and peppers. I made the call and they said it'll be ready in about 15 minutes which is fast. Once the food arrived, I had to dig in because the smell was amazing! The sausage meatballs were hot and delicious. The juices were to die for if you use the hot and fresh rolls. The next time I ordered room service, I brought my relatives to eat at Caprese. I got the same sausage meatballs (they're addicting lol)while the other ordered salmon. I took a bite of the salmon and it was equally delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked to where it just crumbled with perfect moisture. I might just order it again for myself next time. I like Caprese because of its great food and it's usually never busy. If I ever have to stay at a hotel, I'd definitely use Radisson with their room service. read more

On the mild side- the pasta was extremely over cooked, almost soggy. Just got into town with some friends and we decided to get some Italian food. It's inside of the Radison Inn, but even for a Friday night it was very empty inside. The decor was very intimate. We were immediately served with a basket of bread. I didn't have any, however, my friends said it was AH-Mazing! My dish was the Salmon a La Limon which was quite delicious! Salmon was cooked perfectly drizzled with an avocado scampi sauce. Along with some veggies and potatoes. Good size portions. Staff was friendly and mainly attentive. I came to Caprese for a family meal with relatives coming in from out of town. The restaurant was newly remodeled and I hadn't heard anything about it before hand, so I wasn't sure what to expect. First of all, the decor is BEAUTIFUL. It's modern and clean and I felt happy the moment I stepped in. The servers were also helpful, friendly, and attentive. As for the food, I was delighted by how delicious my meal was. The waitress recommended a seared tuna salad with a mountain of avocado, and it was easily the best seared tuna I'd had in ages: rare except for a crispy crust, perfectly paired with the creamy avocado. I am staying in the Radisson with my family and we decided to come here for lunch. The service was really great, Luis was our waiter. He kept a our water glasses filled and was attentive; we were one of two tables in the restaurant. Restaurant: the restaurant was really nice. There are a lot of different food options to choose from. There are a few little tables outside, but it's right next to a pretty busy street so could be loud. There are two rooms, one is a bar area (wasn't open when I went to a noon lunch) and the other is the lunch room. Food: I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich. I really love pesto, but when I got the sandwich I was not really pleased. It came with chicken, cheese, peppers, lettus, and mayo, but I did not really taste any pesto. The French fries were good, but it's really difficult to mess up fries. Others at my table got a hamburger (said it was overcooked), Asian chicken salad (said it was mediocre), and a turkey club (nothing special, but a lot of food). The downside: the food was not very good, we were expecting a lot better. Additionally, one person asked for onion rings buy got french fries and he told the waiter, but the waiter didn't believe him at first but then just decided to check for extras in the back. Not a good experience at all. I was staying at the Radisson for business. The place was so empty at dinner, I had to ask the front desk to call the restaurant so somebody would seat me. I ordered the crab and shrimp tortelli, The sauce was good but the crab was tough and chewy. The shrimp was good, but the tails were left on, so I had to wade through the sauce to pull them off. I ordered tiramisu dessert to go and when I got back to the room, I discovered it was completely frozen. The next morning I went to the restaurant for breakfast. The hotel had a breakfast room service menu but I didn't want to spend the extra money so I went to the restaurant for breakfast. I ordered oatmeal and sausage, and was appalled to receive instant oatmeal from the breakfast buffet. The waiter told me the only breakfast they serve is the $15 buffet, which wasn't very good. Even when hotels give patrons free breakfast, it usually includes cooked oatmeal. I wasn't going to pay $15 for instant oatmeal so I left. I complained to the hotel desk clerk, and he was surprised. Hotel restaurants are so posh. Caprese is located in the Radisson Hotel. The interior is very modern, creating a trendy ambiance. It's a fairly large restaurant which is ideal for big groups. Their service is great too. The waitresses and waiters are all really sweet and accommodating. The food is delish. They have a variety of cuisines on their extensive menu. I've tried everything! Their seafood dishes are probably the best, especially the salmon, seared ahi tuna, and seafood pasta. This is def a Chatsworth neighborhood gem! read more

This is practically a hidden restaurant in Chatsworth. I drive by almost every weekday and I never noticed it until a few days ago, so I decided to go on a Friday. My wife and I had an early dinner on Friday around 5:50pm, so it was pretty empty with only another table of four eating. The restaurant is right behind the bar (FYI, I was told happy hour is from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.) The server was very friendly and recommended the Stuffed Chicken Marsala ($17), which was very delicious and a great portion size. The happy hour house margaritas were decent for the price at $5. The Spaghetti Bolognese ($15) was good, but nothing to be praised about. The clear winner of the night was the stuffed chicken dish. Ultimately, my wife and I will be returning soon. read more

A hidden gem! It was my last day of work after 5 years and my office wanted to throw me a goodbye party so we ordered take out over the phone. The gentleman who answered was very nice and even called to let us know it was ready for pick up. The inside was beautiful and quiet, i could see myself doing private events here. After it's been newly renovated and the menu's been changed, not only is the food delicious, but also the renovations are beautiful. First of all, this place is part of a hotel (I think mostly for business conferences and such as there are many conference rooms and meeting rooms). I ordered Salmon Ala Limon. There are many other lovely selections on the list as well! I went with a huge group of people and the restaurant seemed pretty empty despite having such nice and kind servers and workers. The ambiance was calm and very relaxing. When my salmon came, it was heaped with fried onions and a portion of mashed potatoes as well. Upon trying the salmon, my taste buds had reached heaven. It was absolutely delicious! The lemony taste added with the onions and mashed potatoes were absolutely perfect together. The dish complemented itself. I can't believe such a find has been neglected as the restaurant was almost entirely empty aside from a kind elderly couple on the side. We took a tour of the hotel, looking into the rooms and such as well and the rooms were well furnished (like new) and radiated of warmth and cleanliness. I think this restaurant is a perfect place to go to for a meal locally. read more

Becky and I started out with a shrimp scampi appetizer served with garlic bread. Large, tender shrimp with a wonderful garlic-lemon butter sauce. YUMMY! Becky ordered shrimp/scallop Alfredo, and I the Chicken Rigate with penne pasta, sun dried tomato, & roasted shallots. Both dishes were generous, and delicious. Our server Beatrice pulled double-duty as waitress and bartender. This lady deserves a raise, Radisson! She did a wonderful job of attending to not only our needs, but also 4 other tables in the dining room, in addition to the bar patrons.
