I can't say enough about this place. Every dish we had was fabulous. The funghi pinsa was the star of the show, but the meatballs with stracciatella were also fabulous. The restaurant is a bit noisy so conversations were hard including trying to order with the server. The restaurant could use some sound dampening pads or softer surfaces throughout. They were also so busy that we had to flag people down to order more drinks and food and did not get quality checks as quickly as I would have hoped. Saying that when our server was able to interact with us he was personable and gave great recommendations. Would be in easy 5 stars if they were staffed properly for a busy Saturday night and didn't seem so rushed and fixed the sound issues.
PARKING (3/5): They have metered street parking. (No valet during lunch). I didn't have an issue finding street parking during lunchtime, but I'm sure it's difficult during peak dinner hours. At least they offer valet! AMBIANCE (4/5): Very cute indoor outdoor area. I feel like I've transported to another country. Stained glass windows, carefully selected colorful tile, beautiful! SERVICE (5/5): It wasn't busy when I came. I was seated promptly, everything was very quick and efficient. They are so genuinely nice. They are attentive, but not pushy. Excellent service! FOOD (4/5): $29 SOFIA MUSSELS: garlic & white wine. Simple, but delicious! Can't go wrong with this classic. $27 PAPPARDELLE ALLA VACCINARA: braised oxtail with thick pasta. This is the most popular for a reason! OVERALL (4/5): Service was amazing! Food was amazing! Will definitely be back. Felt very welcomed here.
Nothing too fancy. The seating is very casual & so is the service. The food is really what is dragging down my review. The PAPPARDELLE ALLA VACCINARA is a beef ragu pasta. It needed salt badly & overall tasted watery to me. The LASAGNA AL FORNO was actually really good so I recommend ordering that. The BRANZINO was not it.. it's just two skinny fish laid on a plate with some sauce. Not what you'd expect. The MUSSELS were good. Nothing too special.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of this place, and I'm not really understanding all the rave reviews. Is it awful? No. But is it anything special? I don't think so. This was actually my second visit. The first time, my husband and I stopped in for lunch and had a couple of items that were good, but I left feeling like maybe we just didn't order the right things. Since so many people seem to love this place, we decided to give it another shot. This time we came with a group of four and ordered a variety of dishes. We started with the octopus, tartare, and burrata appetizers. For pizzas, we had the Mortadella Pista and the Prosciutto with Truffle Oil Pista. We also ordered the Cacio e Pepe, mushroom risotto, and the Nutella dessert. The appetizers were okay, but the burrata was definitely the highlight. The pizzas were good and enjoyable, but nothing particularly memorable that would have me planning a return visit just for them. The Cacio e Pepe was decent, but the mushroom risotto was honestly the worst mushroom risotto I've ever had. It tasted like Campbell's cream of mushroom soup had been used as the base. The ambiance was nice, the service was good, and the drinks were enjoyable, but again, nothing felt especially memorable or exceptional. On a positive note, the prices were fair for what you get. Overall, I personally don't feel the need to come back. It's a perfectly fine meal, but with so many great dining options around, this just didn't stand out to me.
Loved the squash blossoms and the pasta is DELICIOUS! My friend and I left our plates clean. The staff and atmosphere are great as well.
This place is absolutely stunning. The outdoor area was so beautiful. There was not a moment that we were waiting for a drink or something from the waiter. The service was impeccable the food was phenomenal and the drinks were delicious! We got the burrata, chicken, lasagna and truffle spaghetti. We also got the basil drink as well as the grapefruit spritz and an espresso martini. 10 out of 10! Will definitely be back.
Ambiance, service and food was amazing ! We cannot wait to go back to the more items on the menu. Started off with a Caesar salad which was delicious as it was made with baby gem lettuce, and then we had the mushroom pizza, packed with so much flavor and the crust was airy and crispy! Then we split the seafood did ink pasta, the portions were perfect and so flavorful! Ended with the lemon olive oil cake. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely we making our way back here.
My grown son and I have a habit of trying a new restaurant twice a month to boost our mood. Recently we ate at OSTE on 3rd Street and were delighted with the whole experience. We started sharing a Rigatoni Amatriciana but making sure to save appetite for a recommended dessert, home made Panna Cotta. My son said it was the best dessert he'd ever had and that's saying a lot for a man who has travelled and tasted many yummy treats.
OSTE has a good ambiance to it and vibes were great. Food was nothing special but I appreciated our server working with us to find something that we both like. Margherita was nothing special and the rigatoni was nothing to die for but the sauce was pretty good and I used the bread with olive oil to dip in. Overall I think it was a good vibe more than the food was special.

We sat outside on their front patio which was pretty but felt a bit crowded. The biggest disappointment may have been the suppli which we started with. I really enjoyed the truffle aioli to dip in, but did not realize that the risotto was extremely mushroom heavy as this was not disclosed on the menu ingredients list, and that made this dish inedible for me personally. Both the potato pizza and the short rib pasta were fine, I just felt like they were extremely bland and under seasoned which was frustrating as everything here is quite pricy. The standout dish that redeemed the experience for me was the chicken Milanese, as the chicken was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed how the potatoes and arugula salad had great buttery/garlicky/lemony flavor.
Have been wanting to try this place and finally had a chance. Great vibes and tasty food. The mussels are a must. I will be back to try the other variety of mussels. The pizza was good but anchovies are a no go for me but I liked that you could do halves of the pizza but only the top four. The pasta was also very good. Great cocktails as well. We also got their homemade bread which was great to soak up the broth from the mussels.

I don't like olives and didn't mind this. - BURRATA PAPPA AL POMODORO (3/5) The simplest option on the menu and I wish it had more wow maybe with some whole cherry tomatoes mixed in or big fresh slices. - CARBONARA PINSA (2.5/5) I think they are famous for these flatbread pizza dishes but I found the bread a bit too hard (+ greasy ) and not enough cheese to make up for the lack of sauce. - TIRAMISU (3/5) standard I walked in on a weekday night for a seat at the bar and didn't wait long for two people. Solid Italian spot with a variety of tasty pizza and pasta dishes. The service was great and the ambiance was really cute (we sat outside which was really nice, but the indoor area also looked cute). The eggplant anti pasta was so tasty and fresh with warm, buttered bread. The short rib pasta was quite small for the price but very tasty. I enjoyed the pizza toppings and crust. read more

Hands down one of my favorite neighborhood spots. The front patio is very cute and there's always a wait on the weekends. The food is delicious, especially the risotto fried balls, pepperoni pizza, lasagna, & Cacio e Pepe. Don't sleep on the tiramisu, it's one of the best!! Visited Oste for a nice Sunday lunch. Booked ahead for reservation so we were able to sit with no wait time recommend getting a reservation. For a group of three people, we got two pizzas and one appetizers and it was plenty enough to go around. Ordered the Funghi and the Calabrese pizzas. Among the two I would stick with the Calabrese more than the fungi, but both were good to eat no issues. It was a nice dining experience. Everything with the interior to the nice open window setting in the middle of LA felt nice. Our server explained the menu very carefully and recommended a few of the pizzas which we did order. Also got the Suppli Al Tarturo which was a nice appetizer to get. The truffle aioli sauce is really good and if you pair with the pizza, it's actually pretty good too. My friend and I visited OSTE for our monthly date night. We sat on the patio which was dimly lit for the evening. We both love Italian food, and OSTE is known for their authentic Italian dishes. The only downside was that our table wasn't big enough to fit all of our food and drinks. Baby gem lettuce caesar: So good, so delicious. The garlic bread crumbs really add a nice touch to the dish. Claudia: Our server let us know that OSTE is known for their mussels. Whenever mussels are on the menu, I am ordering them. We both really like white wine mussels, and these really hit the spot. Prosciutto pizza: I'm from Chicago, so pizza in LA is really hard for me to enjoy. But this was incredible. I really enjoyed the thin slices of prosciutto. The arugula helped to build a slight peppery taste which added to the flavor. Overall, I'd highly recommend OSTE for your next friends dinner, date night, or even impressing your parents. Bravo! This is a late review, my husband and I came here with a reservation the day before Valentine's Day (I worked in the service industry IYKYK). I loved where we were seated, the ambiance was lively and romantic. The food and wine were excellent - my mussels were definitely the star of my show and my husband raved about the pizza! I need to say that the service outshined everything! It was VERY busy, but our server, the food runners, busser and even the owner were on top of everything - new plates, silverware, lots of water. We loved our leftovers too. read more

4.5 Stopped in and enjoyed a nice dinner on their patio, which is heated and cozy. The Roman style pinsa here is very good - thin crispy flatbread-like dough with plenty of toppings. I ordered the Oste and liked the combination of onions and guanciale. I really enjoyed the cocktails here as well. The mussels were more average and pricey ($29 for the Sofia mussels). Service was friendly although it took us a while to get our server's attention to order food after she took our drink order earlier. read more

Amazing meal! Glad we had a reservation on a Saturday night as they were super busy. The menu had so many different options but we knew we wanted to try pasta and a pizza. Going in we were going over order with the intent to bring food home just so we could taste more items on the menu. Started with FIORI DI ZUCCA which are squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta deep fried in a batter. Each bite was so delicious, a good amount of ricotta, and each bite was still super crispy. We also got XXTRA PEPPERONI LOVERS Pinsa. Crust was doughy yet crisp, not greasy at all I would just the right amount of cheese and sauce. So we knew that we would be full, but we wanted to try a couple pastas one red sauce, and one white sauce. The CACIO E PEPE I just the right amount of pepper and creamy sauce, noodles cooked perfectly. PAPPARDELLE ALLA VACCINARA was definitely my favorite, noodles in a braised oxtail ragu. Service was on point, checked on his frequently, but didn't rush us, even though the restaurant was super busy, and just overall very friendly. We would definitely go back to try more entrées and even get the pallardelle again with the squash blossoms. You have to pay for valet in the front but I would rather do that than to worry about parking. read more

This place was sooo good! Great date night spot. We sat outside on the patio but the inside was a pretty cute vibe too. The bathroom was nice too and had a candle that smelled amazing! We started with the Caesar salad and some bread. Then we got the mussels which were so good. We got the Sofia mussels and the sauce was amazingg. For the mains we got the branzino and pomodoro pasta. It was the perfect amount of food and we also got a bottle of red wine that paired so well with the food. They coursed out the meal perfectly we ended up being there for like 2 hours. Some non-pretentious good italian eats in a typically pretentious area. Was pleasantly surprised with the ambience and food at the restaurant. Honestly was expecting something a bit more uppity, but was date-y of a vibe while still not being stuffy. Was served quickly. Had some pretty good cocktails, stuffed squash blossoms, a mushroom pizza, and lasagna. Also had a bit of dessert. Was good times and would recommend as a date spot. read more
The pinza sounded interesting to me and drew me in for a dining experience. I treated my mom for her birthday and we tried a handful of items from their menu. We started with the Ceasar salad and burrata and beets. Fresh, cheesy salad complemented by a flavorful pistachio and mint burrata dish. You could potentially skip the side of bread. For our mains we shared the Viva La italia pinsa (pesto base) and the pappardelle pasta with oxtail. I loved the rich flavors of the pasta!!! Very comforting and satisfying. Pinsa was great as well, felt much lighter than actual pizza! We had to wrap up dinner with tiramisu and it was a homemade hit! The dining space is very cozy and warm. I have been to Oste a few times now and it is time to finally review. Amazing food, beautiful restaurant, and excellent service. I absolutely must order the meatballs at every Italian restaurant I go to and the ones here are fantastic! Their Roman style pizza is the best in the city and you cannot go wrong with any of their pastas. The oxtail papardelle and amatriciana are so delicious. We also ordered the steak and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The owner Alessandro is very nice and gave us some restaurant recs for our upcoming trip to Rome! Oste is officially my go-to on West 3rd. The Pinsa (Roman-style pizza) is a game changer--the crust is so light and crispy, you don't feel weighed down afterward. The Mortadella & Pistachio topping is a must-try. Service & Vibe: What really stood out was the service. Even on a busy night, the staff was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and fast without making us feel rushed. The patio has a perfect "hidden gem" European vibe that's great for people-watching. Fast service, amazing food, and a beautiful atmosphere. I'll definitely be back! read more
My dinner at Oste was pretty solid! It's a pretty popular Italian restaurant in LA so be sure to book a reservation in advance. They're known for their Roman-Style "Pinsa" (think pizza, but more flatbread shaped with a very crisp undercarriage and fun toppings). Otherwise they have some classic pasta & Italian dishes, done very deliciously. Started with the Caesar salad - pretty classic. The squash blossoms were super crispy and cheesy inside. For the Pinsa, we got the Funghi (mushrooms). It was topped with truffle oil as well, which gave it a super intense mushroom flavor. I absolutely loved it! I am always on the lookout for good pizza in LA and this delivered for me!! The crispy bottom really elevated it, which I think is a result of the different types of flours they use to make it. And honestly, this size pizza can serve at least 2, if not 3. I also brought some home, threw it in the air fryer, and it was just as good the next day! Do not let a single square inch of this delicious Pinsa go to waste! Also tried the pan seared Branzino which was super light and fresh. The service was great, I felt very well cared for and attended to. The waiters were also very happy to give suggestions on food & wine pairings. The vibe is great: young, vibrant, dimly lit, perfect for an Italian dinner date. Will be back soon to try more of their Pinsa flavor options! read more

Stumbled upon this charming Italian spot while I was looking for a good place to have dinner with my girl friends. They were easily able to accommodate 7 of us when reserved a week in advance. The staff were polite and welcoming and the owner even stopped by our table at the end of our night to chat. We split a bunch of appetizers: bread with olive oil, squash blossoms, caesar salads and burrata, of course. Everything was incredible, the caesar stood out as well as the burrata, the tomatoes that came with it were sooooo flavorful! We all ordered separate entrees. I got the short rib tortellini in cream sauce and it was fantastic. Heard it was the owners family recipe so had to try it. Dessert we got the olive oil cake and tiramisu, both great as well. I was visiting my friend who recommended this gem of a restaurant! We got the Claudia mussels which were to die for. The garlic white wine sauce was divine, and the mussels were so tender. I also really enjoyed the mortadella pizza. It was Roman style, so the crust was thin and crispy. It reminded me more of a flat bread, and it definitely brought me back to Italy! The caesar salad was cheesy and had some nice toasted breadcrumbs on top. It helped to break up all the carb heavy foods but didn't knock our socks off. The rigatoni was the least impressive of the dishes we ordered. It was cooked nicely al dente but tasted like it could have came from any Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert but will have to try their tiramisu next time! read more
Food is good! Parking is nonexistent (unless you want to valet). We found parking on 3rd street but it's metered but it was the only other option because the surrounding neighborhoods is permit parking only. I recommend the pinsas. We got the funghi one with egg. My husband got the oxtail ragu as well. Both of them are delicious. I like the thin crust and the chewy pasta. Surprisingly as an appetizer, I like the Caesar salad. It's basic but really good. Place is dog friendly. Make a reservation because the patio got busy. They are an Amex plat resy restaurant too! read more
The food here is phenomenal! We came with a larger party and were able to sample most of the menu that way. From the appetizers, to the salads, pizza, and pasta you can't go wrong with anything here! Service was fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. The food was made to order quickly, and the portions are generous. The prices are well worth the splurge, the quality speaks for itself. What a charming place that I have never noticed on 3rd street. The patio is break-taking with nature and tall glass windows looking into the restaurant. | F O O D | Bolognese 8/10 - delicious! Burrata and Pesto 8/10 - beautiful, acidic, and just enough nuttiness Squash Blossoms 6/10 - light crisp and hint of lemon worked great Steak 6/10 - steak tastes like bacon which made it too rich, but salad balanced it Romanesco 2/10 - disgusting I dont know what they thought with this Caesar Salad 7/10 - lots of parm and good crunch | O V E R A L L | Oste is great even just to go for a pasta and wine to talk. The service was so attentive. They refilled our waters every time without asking and were always checking up on us not in a way that felt pushy. This place continues to be my favorite restaurant nearby. Good service, they're consistently busy especially for dinner (good sign), and great food. I always get a pinsa here - carbonara is my personal favorite. Husband loves the extra pepperoni but I find the meats make it a bit too salty for my taste. Can't go wrong here. So delicious. Would recommend making a reservation for dinner for quick seating. read more

I'm allergic to eggs and nuts - does the pizza or pasta have any or come in contact with eggs or nuts?
What is the noise level? Can one hold a conversation without shouting?
I went on a Monday night, it was pretty full, and we sat on the outside patio. We were able to have nice conversation with no noise issues.
Is it acceptable to bring a child/toddler?
Yes! I brought a 6 month old - not a lot of room for a stroller tho so bring a little one if possible.
Do they have gf pizza or pasta?

I don't believe they take reservations but they have a decent outside area so there won't be a long wait.
