Amazing meal! Glad we had a reservation on a Saturday night as they were super busy. The menu had so many different options but we knew we wanted to try pasta and a pizza. Going in we were going over order with the intent to bring food home just so we could taste more items on the menu. Started with FIORI DI ZUCCA which are squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta deep fried in a batter. Each bite was so delicious, a good amount of ricotta, and each bite was still super crispy. We also got XXTRA PEPPERONI LOVERS Pinsa. Crust was doughy yet crisp, not greasy at all I would just the right amount of cheese and sauce. So we knew that we would be full, but we wanted to try a couple pastas one red sauce, and one white sauce. The CACIO E PEPE I just the right amount of pepper and creamy sauce, noodles cooked perfectly. PAPPARDELLE ALLA VACCINARA was definitely my favorite, noodles in a braised oxtail ragu. Service was on point, checked on his frequently, but didn't rush us, even though the restaurant was super busy, and just overall very friendly. We would definitely go back to try more entrées and even get the pallardelle again with the squash blossoms. Yesterday I stopped in to Oste to get my favorite Funghi Pinsa. Upon ordering the waiter told me that the owner changed the base to a mushroom sauce. Okay, I'll give it a go.... What came out had a nice subtle creamy mushroom sauce instead of the truffle oil. That would have been okay, but without the unctuousness of the truffle oil the crust was too dry and lacking in flavor. Unfortunately, also the cheese has been changed as well. The cheese is no longer the tasty flavorful buttery semi-soft and creamy shredded scamorrza. It now has a pedestrian, flavorless, stretchy and stringy run-of-the-mill mozzarella. Sorry to say that Oste is no longer the 5 star pinsa of choice for me....unless they can revert or figure out how to change to a more delectable funghi pie. read more

Unfortunately this place wasn't that great. I wanted to love it, I really did! The meal started off strong with the best mussels I have ever had in my life, 10/10 no notes. Got the Sofia, so fresh, so flavorful, lots of soupy buttery garlic dipping sauce that was insane. The bread was absolutely amazing as well as a dipper. Then came the pepperoni pizza. My husband loves pizza, and never really complains about any pizza because he loves it so much. The cheese on the pizza tasted like Sargento, cold and bland, it was disappointing. Visited Oste for a nice Sunday lunch. Booked ahead for reservation so we were able to sit with no wait time recommend getting a reservation. For a group of three people, we got two pizzas and one appetizers and it was plenty enough to go around. Ordered the Funghi and the Calabrese pizzas. Among the two I would stick with the Calabrese more than the fungi, but both were good to eat no issues. It was a nice dining experience. Everything with the interior to the nice open window setting in the middle of LA felt nice. Our server explained the menu very carefully and recommended a few of the pizzas which we did order. Also got the Suppli Al Tarturo which was a nice appetizer to get. The truffle aioli sauce is really good and if you pair with the pizza, it's actually pretty good too. My friend and I visited OSTE for our monthly date night. We sat on the patio which was dimly lit for the evening. We both love Italian food, and OSTE is known for their authentic Italian dishes. The only downside was that our table wasn't big enough to fit all of our food and drinks. Baby gem lettuce caesar: So good, so delicious. The garlic bread crumbs really add a nice touch to the dish. Claudia: Our server let us know that OSTE is known for their mussels. Whenever mussels are on the menu, I am ordering them. We both really like white wine mussels, and these really hit the spot. Prosciutto pizza: I'm from Chicago, so pizza in LA is really hard for me to enjoy. But this was incredible. I really enjoyed the thin slices of prosciutto. The arugula helped to build a slight peppery taste which added to the flavor. Overall, I'd highly recommend OSTE for your next friends dinner, date night, or even impressing your parents. This is my favorite spot in Los Angeles. As someone who frequents restaurants a lot, I am always impressed by the standard and quality of this place. I order the Sofia with the bread + olive oil. I am a huge fan of the rigatoni and their tomato is so fresh. I can't get started on the coffee and how good their espresso beans are but their machine does the trick at making sure each batch feels like heaven. We were in the area and we decided to walked a bit early on a Saturday evening without reservations. They were kind enough to find us a table and were seating in few minutes. Ambiance is great; lively and great sitting area. For food we order bunch of different things: To start we got bread and olive oil, Suppli Al Tartufo (Risotto fried balls), and Carciofi Alla Giudia (deep fried artichoke). All of these appetizers were great. Ofcourse fried risotto balls and artichoke were delicious. Absolutely recommend. The pinza sounded interesting to me and drew me in for a dining experience. I treated my mom for her birthday and we tried a handful of items from their menu. Stumbled upon this charming Italian spot while I was looking for a good place to have dinner with my girl friends. They were easily able to accommodate 7 of us when reserved a week in advance. The staff were polite and welcoming and the owner even stopped by our table at the end of our night to chat. We split a bunch of appetizers: bread with olive oil, squash blossoms, caesar salads and burrata, of course. Everything was incredible, the caesar stood out as well as the burrata, the tomatoes that came with it were sooooo flavorful! We all ordered separate entrees. The restaurant is beautiful and pretty spacious for LA. We really liked the pappardelle! It was so flavorful, the short rib was really tender, and the pasta was perfectly chewy. We also had a margarita pizza with extra prosciutto on top. While it was pretty good it wasn't our favorite. The crust is crunchy and the prosciutto was a great addition. It wasn't too salty. I was visiting my friend who recommended this gem of a restaurant! We got the Claudia mussels which were to die for. The garlic white wine sauce was divine, and the mussels were so tender. I also really enjoyed the mortadella pizza. It was Roman style, so the crust was thin and crispy. It reminded me more of a flat bread, and it definitely brought me back to Italy! The caesar salad was cheesy and had some nice toasted breadcrumbs on top. It helped to break up all the carb heavy foods but didn't knock our socks off. My dinner at Oste was pretty solid! It's a pretty popular Italian restaurant in LA so be sure to book a reservation in advance. They're known for their Roman-Style "Pinsa" (think pizza, but more flatbread shaped with a very crisp undercarriage and fun toppings). Otherwise they have some classic pasta & Italian dishes, done very deliciously. Started with the Caesar salad - pretty classic. The squash blossoms were super crispy and cheesy inside. For the Pinsa, we got the Funghi (mushrooms). It was topped with truffle oil as well, which gave it a super intense mushroom flavor. I absolutely loved it! I am always on the lookout for good pizza in LA and this delivered for me!! The crispy bottom really elevated it, which I think is a result of the different types of flours they use to make it. And honestly, this size pizza can serve at least 2, if not 3. I also brought some home, threw it in the air fryer, and it was just as good the next day! Do not let a single square inch of this delicious Pinsa go to waste! Also tried the pan seared Branzino which was super light and fresh. The service was great, I felt very well cared for and attended to. The waiters were also very happy to give suggestions on food & wine pairings. We came to OSTE to celebrate a friend's birthday! We sat at a table for 7 in the indoor portion of the restaurant, but the outdoor section looked lovely as well; I don't think there's a bad seat in the place. We ordered such a large amount of food. Two orders of their homemade bread, Two salads (Baby Gem Caesar and the Radicchio Salad), Fiore di Zucca, Gamberoni, Beef tartare, two burratas (pesto and al pomodoro), two pizzas (Funghi and Patate) and two pastas (Pappardelle & Frutti di mare). Everything we had ranged from very good to excellent. My personal favorite was the Gamberoni, but multiple people also selected the pesto burrata as their favorite, along with the Fiore di Zucca. The pizzas and pastas were also big hits, but I personally felt that the patate pizza was a bit rich, and would've loved some hot honey or some sweetness to cut through. That is just nitpicking though. The service was excellent. Our server was on it, giving us great recommendations, as well as being friendly and warm from the get go. Our waters were constantly topped off and the pacing of the meal was perfect. Food was absolutely delicious with great quality. We ordered a margarita pinsa (Roman style pizza) with prosciutto and grilled octopus to start. Both dishes were amazing. The grilled octopus was one of the best if not the best grilled octopus I've ever had! It was perfectly charred on the outside and tender and soft on the inside- not chewy at all. And the puree with capers paired so well with it. For entrees, we ordered sea bass and seafood squid ink pasta (fruti di mare). Both dishes were excellent and delicious. Flavors were on point and the seafood was fresh. Cocktail drinks were also refreshing and tasty. For dessert, we had the chocolate tart and added vanilla bean gelato and it was scrumptious. Service was great. Our waitress was friendly and professional. The entire staff was quick yet very cordial. Food came out fast because of the time limit restriction. Ambiance is cute and charming. I've seen several videos about this place, so I was excited when I got to finally check off another one on my list! Overall, I loved everything about this place! The bread and pizza crust were absolute perfection; thin with crispy, cracker-like edges and soft pockets in between, giving you the best of both worlds. We started with the burrata bar with prosciutto, topped with pistachios, and added a bread basket to enjoy it with. So good. The Caesar salad was perfection, especially the crispy croutons crumbled throughout. Okay wait... I think I just found my new favorite pasta place. The espresso martini was sooo good -- strong, smooth, and exactly what I needed. Not one of those watered-down ones. This one did its job. We started with the mussels and wow. They were perfectly cooked -- super plump and juicy, and the white wine sauce was just right. We were basically dipping everything in it. The pizza was good, just a little thicker than I usually like, but still solid. The pappardelle though... that was the star. The ragu was rich and flavorful, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Why not, you can use it to dip or soak up from the other dishes Burrata E San Daniele - this came with a burrata, prosciutto, pistachios, and evoo. This did not come with bread so lucky we got the homemade bread so we can eat it together. It was delicious. I love burrata. Baby Gem Lettuce Caesar - very good Caesar salad. I liked the amount of dressing, the size of the lettuce, and crunch of the bread crumbs Pappardelle Alla Vaccinara - Braised oxail ragu with pappardelle pasta. It was a good pasta dish. My friends and I came on a Wednesday night and made a reservation ahead of time. All of the tables did fill up by 8pm so making a reservation is probably a good idea. We sat outside which was a little tight among all the other tables but in my opinion better than inside which was really loud and difficult to hear. I forgot to take pictures of the appetizers we got but we ordered the cauliflower and bone marrow to start. The bone marrow was a favorite and we all loved that they squeezed out fresh garlic at the table onto the plate to complement. We also got 2 pizzas and a pasta. For pizzas we got the carbonara and the fungi. The carbonara had a whole egg on it - impressive! The fungi was good if you're a mushroom lover like me. We ordered the house bread on the side which seems to be very similar to their pizza bread. The pesto was so herby and the burrata was rich and creamy. The mint and peas were a unique touch. The prosciutto pizza came out with a beautiful aroma of truffle and the stracciatella was very creamy. My mother and I do not usually like pizza but the pinsa was great! It wasn't too heavy or greasy. The oxtail ragu papardelle was also good. The noodles were perfectly al dente, but it was one of the more average tasting dishes. I have heard great things about this place and finally got a chance to try it out. They were pretty busy during the evening so definitely recommend making reservations especially for special occasions. We started off with their handmade bread and evoo. Then we tried their Sofia mussels with their truffle fries and it was absolutely superb. Definitely a must try! Also tried their Patate Pinsa which was a tad bit salty for my taste but still pretty good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. read more
