Years and years ago, this place used to be IT. Ysabel was popppppping on the weekends, and attracted groups and groups of people living their best LA life. The food was great, the vibes were there, and the decor added to the swanky ambiance. I even remember all of the pictures we'd take in front of their iconic wall of faces! I still have them, and they serve as souvenirs of wonderful memories... Good times. I recently went back to Ysabel on a Friday night and it was much different than what I remember. The environment was quiet, it was about 1/5 full if not a little less, and the food was just okay. It reminded me a bit of Lavo, just before they announced they were shutting business down. Ysabel was unfortunately not great about accommodating a food allergy at our table. Other restaurants swap ingredients or make suggestions or offer up alternatives, but Ysabel pointed out a couple of sides and deterred us from most of the menu. Not the best experience. The food we tried was okay... nothing to write home about, nothing I felt I had to come back for ASAP, and especially not for their price point. Disappointing but not all that surprising - seems like another LA place that has lost its way a bit through the years, especially post-COVID. Valet parking is your best bet here.

We went to Ysabel for my wife's birthday and it's a pretty perfect birthday spot if you're parents looking to feel like you actually went out on the town. Especially if you live in the Valley and rarely go over the hill after 6pm. Ysabel has been on our radar as one of those celebrity/Instagram-friendly spots, and the space is the first thing that stands out. You enter through a small, tunnel-like corridor off busy Fairfax, with almost nothing visible from the street. Then you walk in and feel transported. The patio is a must with its twinkly trees, candles, white booths, marble tables and enough LA-ness to make the night feel a little special. We were honestly happy just being there on a beautiful summer evening. The cocktails were delicious and very aesthetic, though not exactly strong for our tolerance levels. Maybe that says more about us than the drinks. Still, delicious. We mostly ordered seafood and everything was solid for a three-dollar-sign restaurant. Good, but nothing life-changing. The warm apple pie-style dessert in a cute cast-iron pan with maple ice cream was excellent and probably the highlight. We went at 6pm on a Wednesday, so it wasn't too busy, which we liked. But as we were leaving, it started to pick up and we realized a little more people energy and people-watching would've been nice. Service was fine, but not especially warm. Our waitress did her job, but she started off pretty low-energy and only became more engaging toward the end. Food came out relatively quickly, though. I gave it 4 stars mainly because the service lacked a little enthusiasm. But if you're celebrating something special and don't mind spending $100+ per person, Ysabel is definitely that spot.

One of my favorite places! I keep coming back mainly for the hand-cut vodka rigatoni -- it's definitely the star of the menu for me. I've had it many times and it's always so good. I've also tried the schnitzel, which was okay but nothing too special. Unfortunately, the wagyu sticks with mushrooms were a big disappointment. The meat was extremely undercooked and so chewy it almost felt like chewing gum, so I definitely wouldn't order those again. I've also tried the fried calamari and the watermelon salad, which were pretty good. Overall, I've tried quite a few things here, but the pasta is what keeps bringing me back. The hand-cut vodka rigatoni alone is worth the visit! But service itself bad we waited for server for 20 minutes just to get menu while we were seated , also we had reservations prior on 6:30 but I've pushed to 7:00 cus of traffic , but I they were picking up phone and hanging up on me FOUR times , and when I called from my friends phone they picked up same minute

I went to Ysabel on May 4th, 2024, and it recently came up again in my social media memories, which reminded me of the place. At that time, I went there with my mom for brunch, and I remember the atmosphere being really nice. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

first time trying ysabel and i've seen it all over social media for so long, i'm glad they didn't disappoint! there's valet right in-front and it's $15. i thought the restaurant was small while we walked in but when i was walking to the restroom i noticed it was actually very spacious and had tons of indoor and outdoor seating. the food was amazing and both the service and ambiance was great! our server gave great recommendations so we went with * fried calamari - small pieces and was a bit lacking in flavor * wagyu yakatori skewers - so delicious, also came with some sweet potato's! * crispy sesame shrimp - is was actually shocked how good this was! & the sauce they give on the side was so good * fries * truffle fries * hand cut rigatoni - definitely adding this to my fav pasta dishes! i think it's better than the pasta at elephante, it was saucier and a bit spicy! our server came back a couple times to check up on us and our waters were constantly refilled as well!

Trendy, cute super trendy, pretty, vibrant spot great for Fridays and Saturdays gatherings! It's usually crowded so would definitely need to make a reservation, however, you can chill in the bar (they have 2 inside bars) or by the stairs while waiting. Cocktails are a piece of art! I had cactus and it was absolutely amazing! Atmosphere is very nice and even feels slightly private, even though place is super crowded (probably table that are far-ish from each other help). Food was delicious- from appetizers like fries and Brussels sprouts to hand cut rigatoni and chicken snitzel! Work of art. The only thing that was slightly annoying was that waiters were trying to make us pay before we haven't even finished our courses and drinks yet, it felt a little rude, but we all gotta do what we gotta do. Overall- worth coming and hanging!

Mashed potatoes, hand cut rigatoni, New York strip, sea bass & broccolini

Came here for my bf's birthday and the food was 10/10!! The New York cooked to perfection and you have to order the rigatoni! Honorable mentions are mashed potatoes and wagyu yakitori (not pictured) Our waitress wasn't really checking on us for so I rated this place a 4/5 but the bussers were on it! The ambiance is really nice, we weren't by the lights but we were by a booth that had a view of it and basically had our own private corner. Would definitely come back!

Made a reservation for 8 PM, and it ended up being a really nice spot. The restaurant has a beautiful, whimsical atmosphere that feels elevated without being over the top. Parking was easy with the $15 valet, and service was friendly and efficient. Our food came out quickly, which was nice. We shared the brussels sprouts, spicy tuna tartare, and hamachi crudo to start, and I ordered the hand-cut rigatoni. The appetizers were definitely the highlight of the meal! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, especially the spicy tuna tartare, which was my favorite. The portions were generous and perfect for sharing between two people. The hand-cut rigatoni was good, but it didn't stand out as much as the appetizers. By the end of the meal, we were both very full. Overall, it's definitely on the pricier side, but the beautiful ambiance, great service, and delicious appetizers make it worth visiting for a special occasion or date night.

Had a wonderful experience at Ysabel. Group of us made same day reservation around 6 pm and it was empty. The ambiance is beautiful, I love the lights on the trees! The food was fantastic. Each dish was made to perfection no notes. The drinks were equally as delicious. Our waiter knew the menu and had some great recommendations for the table. Would absolutely come back for date night if I'm in the area.

I was having trouble finding a birthday dine spot, and I came across this beautiful gem. From start to finish I've got to say it was one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant in awhile. The server was super knowledgeable and broke down the menu as first timers, I ordered the miso salmon and my boyfriend had their vodka pasta with chicken. We both were in awe of these two plates, the miso salmon was packed with flavor and paired so well with their "black forbidden rice." The vodka pasta had the perfect kick to it. Our drinks were delicious! I ordered the something about cherry drink, which was a vodka based cocktail (not my usual) , but I wanted to try something other than a margarita. Thank you to the Ysabel team for making my birthday dinner so special, they even add a birthday card along with your dessert! Now moving onto the ambiance, it was one of the most beautiful, most intimate/romantic restaurants I've been to in awhile. I loved that they had trees with lights in the restaurant, and roses hanging from the trees. The iconic steps make for great Instagram pictures!

Went to Ysabel recently for a girls night and it did not disappoint. We went for drinks and apps before a night out but we both agreed we'd be back for a full dinner because of how delicious everything was. Every drink we tried was so good and we both loved the cauliflower tempura. We saw a few steaks from nearby tables and they looked DELICIOUS. The atmosphere is romantic and very pretty. Will definitely be back.

Gorgeous space for a date night or girls dinner. Modern, chic style great for pictures. Definitely a splurge but a $$ well spent. Food was delicious exceeded my expectations, beautiful restaurants tend to lose focus in flavor but this hit the spot. Short rib pasta & truffle fries were so good, service was attentive. Strawberry lemon drop 10/10.@

Are they currently open for brunch hour on the weekends or not ? little confused about the operating hours.

Ysabel no longer has brunch service!

Can you ask for virgin drinks/ non alcoholic drinks?

Absolutely! There's lots of options for non alcoholic drinks.

I'm allergic to eggs and nuts - is the pasta made with eggs and is there anything with nuts?

Some of the pastas are made with egg (the lobster ravioli and the tagliatelle) but the rigatoni never has egg and the lemon pasta can easily be made without cured egg yolk shavings. In terms of nuts, there are a few things that contain almonds on…

Do we need a reservation for brunch on Sunday?

It doesn't hurt. You can be a walk up, but make sure you're a small group of 4 or less- two is golden. We've done it plenty of times with spur of the moment brunches

Do you allow children in the restaurant on evenings?

    Im not sure

Are they still open for business? If so, did their phone number change?

    Are kids allowed?

    Yes they do

    Do they serve beer?

    Yes

    Do they offer takeout?

    Yes they do!

If a group of 3 just want to go for drinks at 8:30pm on a Saturday (no dinner), is reservation required? No one is picking up the phone at the establishment.

You'll still need a reservation. Just keep calling because they will eventually pick up! It happened to be as well. So just keep trying(:

Can someone tell me how to get a hold of this place? i made a reservation for this weekend and i want to double check it went through but i cannot get through to their phones.

If you reserved on open table then your confirmation will be there.

Is ysabel open? I set a reservation and no one is answering the phones

Yes. They've been open. Doors open @ 6:00pm. You prob won't get an answer until closer to that time. I'm a fan of this place. Sexy ambience + great food + cocktails

Are they open for lunch on Sunday at 12 pm?

I believe they just opened for brunch so you should be able to get a table at that time.

Are the tables outside properly social distanced?

Yes they are, some table has only two seats and some with four

Parking? Street or valet? Both? How much is valet?

Vallet is $11. I parked at a meter across the street.

What time do they serve food till?

The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of being in Mexico. A Spanish theme and style. A lot of seating and it's also spacious with an outdoor patio that is open to the customers and also widely used for many event. Everything was clean from what I noticed. The music volume was tolerable as well as the selection of choice. Felt like I was on vacation for a min. A great spot to have drinks. A great to spot to meet up or even come for a date. The Melrose Mule was cool. Very refreshing like the bartender mentioned. It was different than the usual mules I get. And the Improved Whiskey was like having an Old Fashion and Whiskey Sour together. It did not disappoint. I also had an attentive bartender who had a good attitude. Didn't take long for him to make my drinks nor put in an order for a smash burger. The smash burger was acceptable. It was good, however, I was expecting something a little bit bigger in size. I like the presentation with it being wrapped in foil. It was cooked perfectly, it was hot and flavorful. No complaints other than the size. I wouldn't mind pulling back up for another happy hour when I'm back in the area. They have some more drinks I would love to try.

The food was just as memorable. The chicken Parmesan was everything you want it to be: crispy, flavorful, and topped with a rich, perfectly balanced marinara and plenty of melted cheese. We originally…read morewanted to try another restaurant, but it was completely booked, so we looked for somewhere new to explore. Met Him At A Bar seemed like a good option, and one of my girlfriends made a reservation for four. Our reservation was at 7:00 PM. I street-parked and walked to the restaurant, where one of my friends was waiting outside. I asked why she wasn't sitting at our table, and she told me that our table was right by the entrance. She didn't like that spot and thought the tables farther inside looked much more comfortable and cozy. Since people were sitting at one of those tables, she wanted to wait until they left. Personally, I thought the table by the entrance was perfectly fine, but I was also STARVING! Another friend arrived and also disliked the table, so we decided to wait. After a while, I was getting way too hungry, so we sat at the bar and ordered an appetizer and drinks while waiting. I first ordered the Garlic Shrimp and asked if it was spicy. I was told it was, so I asked if they could make it without the spice because I can't eat spicy food. He said he would check with the kitchen, but since I was starving and it sounded like it might take too long, I changed my order to Garlic Bread. One of my girlfriends ordered a glass of wine, and since she had made the reservation and gone through the trouble of arranging everything, I treated her to the wine and garlic bread. Then, of course, our friend who is ALWAYS late arrived about 30 minutes late! By then, the rest of us had already decided what to order from the Dine LA menu. We wanted to try as many dishes as possible, so we ordered different items and shared everything. When our late friend arrived, we ordered his dishes separately. For the first course, we had Caesar Salad, Bruschetta, and Meatballs. For the second course, we ordered Rigatoni Vodka, Cacio e Pepe, and Margherita Pizza. For dessert, everyone ordered Tiramisu. Overall, I thought the food was good. My favorites were the Bruschetta, Meatballs, Rigatoni Vodka, and Tiramisu. The Cacio e Pepe was not my favorite because I thought they used way too much black pepper, and my other friends agreed. Our group had mixed reactions overall. Except for one person, the other two felt the food didn't quite live up to their expectations and were somewhat disappointed. But everyone's taste is different, so I completely understand. Considering how expensive everything has become these days, I thought the Dine LA price was pretty reasonable. It was $45 per person, and with tax and tip, it came to $60 each. For that price, I thought the amount of food and the overall experience were pretty good. I also really appreciated how friendly and attentive all the staff members were. I usually don't drink alcohol, and especially when I'm driving, I NEVER drink--not even a sip. That has been my personal rule for decades. So I just ordered water, and I loved how the staff kept coming by and refilling my glass whenever it got low. I drink a LOT of water, so I really appreciated their attentiveness. Now, about parking: valet parking is $17. I decided to street-park instead. One of my friends also street-parked, but unfortunately she got a parking ticket and was VERY upset. I had originally found a spot where a sign said a parking permit was required, so I decided not to take the risk and moved my car. Before leaving, I asked a man walking his dog if it was okay to park there. He said he had seen many cars parked there and they had been fine, but I still didn't trust it because the sign clearly said permits were required. I told him, "I don't think that's allowed." He was very nice and suggested going about three blocks farther, where there was plenty of street parking without a permit. I followed his advice and parked there. Unfortunately, my friend who stayed in the permit-only spot ended up getting a ticket. Another friend parked in the parking structure across the street and said it cost $18. Since I had parked farther away and didn't want to walk alone at night, I asked him to drop me off at my car after dinner, and he kindly did. So my parking recommendation is to use the $17 valet or street-park about three blocks away where no permit is required. I definitely would NOT recommend parking in the permit-only spaces unless you want to risk getting a ticket. One of the funniest things about this neighborhood is the restaurant names. The restaurant we went to is called "Met Him At A Bar," and literally right across the street is "Met Her At A Bar." There's also another restaurant called "The Night We Met." I have to say, the names are pretty creative and definitely make this neighborhood more fun! Overall, we had a fun evening together, and for $60 per person including tax and tip, I thought it was a pretty decent Dine LA experience.

The place is so cool and oh, so fun! The Aviator is a magnificently decorated and themed airplane bar which has a first class and coach section seats that are exactly like being on a real airplane along with seat belts, trays and movable arm chairs and a Flight Attendant bell to request service! Food: we were treated to fries which were delicious! The Aviator offers a nice appetizer menu along with specialty drinks themed to the bar. We ordered Aperol Spritzes and they were delicious and refreshing! All reasonably priced too, yay! They have "cart" service too which added to the airplane themed experience! Service: Splendid! The Bartender and Flight Attendant were attentive and friendly! My friend and I had a blast of fun and plan to visit again soon! If you haven't been to The Aviator yet, plan to do so! You'll be glad you did!

Parking can be a little challenging, but valet service is available if you prefer the convenience. The seating is outdoors, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket or sweater, especially in the evening. The ambiance is perfect for a first date or a romantic date night with your significant other. If you can make it Monday through Thursday, don't miss their happy hour--it's one of the best deals in town. Everything we ordered, from the appetizers and entrées to the desserts, was absolutely delicious. You can tell the chef takes great pride in every dish. Overall, I give this place 5 stars. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and a wonderful dining experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

The outdoor space is still beautiful, but , unfortunately the LOUD music ruins the ambiance. People have to scream to hear their table mates. So we asked to be transferred indoors. Music still loud but less people screaming. the indoor space has been poorly maintained, floors are worn out, everything looks, well, old. Food: fried calamari... well cooked, tender, totally flavorless. Caesar Salad with chicken... VERY little dressing (we had to request more as well as salt and pepper, the chicken... dry as cardboard. The only good thing about this experience was the attentive waitress, unfortunately I didn't ask her name. What a disappointment!
