I'm giving Seco two stars for now, although unfortunately we didn't even get a chance to try the food. The two stars reflect our experience with the noise level, service, and especially the amount of smoking around the outdoor dining area. The tables next to us had several people chain-smoking, which was extremely unpleasant while sitting in an area where people are supposed to be eating. I honestly didn't realize smoking was allowed so close to dining tables, and it made it impossible for us to enjoy being there. When we sat down, we were also given only one menu for two people. We considered moving inside, but it was so incredibly loud that having a normal conversation seemed nearly impossible. I would still like to come back and actually try the food, and I'd be happy to update my review based on that experience. Next time, though, I would probably visit on a weekday and sit inside to avoid the smoking and hopefully have a quieter experience. read more

I do feel like it's a bit overpriced for what you get, but the service was good. They were backed up on our order and apologized by providing complimentary wine on the house, which was very kind of them. We got the Tuna tostada, Caesar salad and the pan con tomate. The tuna was fresh and the other two were just alright to me. It was really interesting as the salad had saradines which was different but nothing bad, but nothing really memorable either. Parking can be tough, but I was lucky enough to find street parking. Seating is also limited, and the wait can be long including the restroom line. The worst service and mediocre food. The hostess with the short hair was so incredibly rude. They messed up our reservation so we were left waiting for almost an hour before we got a table. She had an attitude when we were clearly upset and tried blaming us for their mistake. You're also literally eating on the sidewalk and people are bartering for chairs and tables. We needed one more table to make our group comfortable and they literally said no and gave it to someone who had a much later reservation than us. First off, this restaurant is located right on Sunset and parking is really hard to find. I would recommend you make reservations as the restaurant is really small inside. I did see some tables out on the sidewalk, but not sure if they all belong to them or Santos right next door. They have a good amount of wines that are domestic and international. Our server, Rob (I think that was his name), gave us a few samples to try before we landed on one. Their menu is not that extensive, so just be aware of that. We didn't have reservations, but we were able to grab a table inside at around 5:30pm on a Saturday. This place was busy. I really liked the Hamachi Crudo. That was so good, but there's only 4 slices for about $21. It's dressed in a ponzu yuzu sauce. It was so good that we ended up pouring the left over sauce on to our Tuna Tostada. Both items were fresh and I could not taste any fishiness. We also ordered the Mushroom Risotto and Cacio e Pepe. I thought the risotto was good, but the rice was definitely undercooked. I would have said something, but we didn't have much time left. The pasta reminded me of Mac n Cheese. I thought it was way too salty and didn't really do it for me.
