Hands down, one of my favorite wine bars in the Echo Park/Silverlake area! The vibe here changes depending on the day or the event happening, which keeps it interesting. I've been on quiet weekday evenings when you can lounge comfortably and snag a table here and there. You'll see everything from couples on dates, groups of friends out for a fun night, to all sorts of other characters. On event days, the space comes alive--outdoor areas are full, food trucks or vendor tents are serving up delicious bites, and the energy is just infectious. It's truly a wonderful place to be, no matter the occasion. Yes, it can get crowded, but I've never had an issue. Everyone is super friendly and open to conversation, which makes the experience even more enjoyable! read more

Came here Thursday for post dinner drinks with a date. Only one other person was there when we entered--a white female sitting at the bar. The bartender was talking to the female, while we waited patiently to order. Eventually it became ridiculous and I think we both felt kind of shocked and not sure what to do because he was simply choosing to ignore us. Eventually another worker came out, and the bartender suddenly walked over to take our order (confirming he knew we were there waiting). It was such a strange experience. The bartender was white, and my date and I are both Asian, which is the only reason I could think of for why he might have refused to serve us. Very troubling experience all around. Great beer and wine spot with helpful bartenders and a chill vibe. Good selection of wines, craft beers and non-alcohol choices. The snack menu was limited to olives though. Went for a comedy event on the patio and was a great place to hang out. Patio is not dog friendly though which would make it an even cooler place to hang. read more

Came here on a Thursday night after dinner, and honestly had a fun time! When I arrived, I was surprised at how bare-bones the front entrance looked... like, you wouldn't even know that they were open. There's a single scary-looking bouncer outside checking id's and he takes just a few minutes with each person. He was nice though. Came here with some new people I met and once we got inside, it was absolutely PACKED. It took us a while to even get to the bar because of how packed and chaotic it was. Absolutely nowhere to sit, so we lingered around the bar until we each got our wine, and then headed outside to the patio and the downstairs area, which was honestly REALLY small too. Like, talk about stuffy. I got one of their German (?) orange skin contact wines which was pretty good. The vibes here were chill but I feel like the event messed with the natural aura of this place. It seemed like maybe the staff were overwhelmed too, but they did their best and were still really nice! I'd definitely visit again on a less chaotic night; their wine offerings were crazy. If you're looking for a solid fermented grape juice bar, I'd recommend coming here for sure! 10/10 read more

Came here for a chill/relaxed atmosphere to enjoy some nice wine. We both got 2 glasses of different wines on tap and each was good, but not great. The reason for the 2-star review was for the service we received. When we first spoke to the bartender I told him I liked juicy/fruity chilled reds and he immediately did a full pour of a wine that was ~not that~. The second time we went up to the bar we each asked to do a small taste of 2 wines on tap and he said to us "how about you tell me the taste you like instead of tasting a bunch of our wines for free"... meanwhile every other wine bar we've been to happily pours small tasters (literally a sips worth) and given his first recommendation for me wasn't on-par, I would've preferred getting a taste before committing. Overall we were both really unhappy with the experience and likely won't go back because of it. read more

This place sucks. I walked through the bar to get to the back, where the food truck was. I had my dog with me (again, just passing through the indoors). Guy told me no dogs. Went outside to order my food and sat down to wait for it. This is an outdoor patio with a separate entrance, far from the actual bar. Guy comes out and tells me no dogs. Outside. Drinks were good but the bouncer was very rude. He started kicking people out randomly at the bar even though they weren't making any trouble. It straight up felt like he was kicking anyone out who wasn't part of a big group. After I got out of the restroom and sat by myself, he tapped me on the shoulder and told me it's closing time but allowed all the other groups to stay up to an hour later. Went tonight (Sunday) to see if my fave wine tender was working and he wasn't :( .Instead, I was told by the male tenders to lower my phone and to not laugh too loud and I felt a bit awkward after that. Hit up Covell instead, they seem a bit more inclusive and loud-laugh friendly. It's a quieter bar and I understand that but to be talked down to like that wasn't cool. Do better BB, it's a bar after all not a shoe gaze. Brandon working the door was super nice and hella cool! We went on a Friday 08/16 around 11PM. We liked the relaxed, darker ambience inside, and the outdoor area was very pleasant, too. We spent half our time in each. It is a wine bar, but we had two rounds of beers. They were all interesting and tasty. Service was fast, but the bartender seemed clumsy. When we were leaving, I went to the bathroom for about a minute and the bouncer came inside, told my wife she should come here more often, then caressed her hand. Not the end of the world, but I think they should reconsider the security aspect. As he patrolled the bar earlier and we were noticing (not totally sober, more people watching), he carried a pair of handcuffs visibly on the back of his belt, which is kinda unsettling and maybe unnecessary. Looked around for a bar where I could be alone and read a book. It's not a lonely thing, though I suppose that's part of it. I just got tired of coffee and aged scones and needed a clean dry place to park and read. I walked by Bandini and noticed someone reading a book at the bar and saw taps of wine (yes, wine on tap) and went in and found a seat and the wine was like a farmhouse red from a jug, and exceedingly drinkable. The lights grew too dim as night fell, so I went out to the heated patio for a second glass and a few more chapters (reading Captive Mind by Milosz, hoping to avoid captivity if you know what I mean). The most horrible service I've experienced. Both male bartenders were unbelievably rude, especially the one with short or buzzed hair. I went up to order a little far from the registers, so I let him know I had apply pay, so we could walk over to payment. His response was "what do you want me to take your phone or some sh*t?" My friend frequents this establishment and so she brought me here one Friday evening and I fell in love! the ambiance is soo nice and relaxing, it's very chill and not too crazy. If you're looking for a place to "wine" down then this is deff it! It was my first time having wine on tap and everything was delicious. I was a little skeptical about chilled red wine but honestly it was amazing It was also my first time having orange wine and it's probably my new go to! Each glass was totally fair priced as well, so you're not spending an arm and a leg for really great wine. Went there for the first time as an after dinner spot and was yelled at by a tall skinny Caucasian bartender or bar-back. There weren't a lot of people in the bar, but he yelled at about 5 of us for supposedly blocking his exit from behind the bar and said he was tired of "these 222 people" coming every week and blocking his exit. 222 is an app that uses the venue as a hangout spot after dinner. It was my first time there. And it was clear that if it wasn't for the app, the bar would be empty. It was rude and abusive. We all vowed not to ever come back. read more

He clocked in and instantly shoulder checked the girls i was sitting with and when asked to apologize for hitting women he took our stools away and showed nothing but disrespect. Nice you can sample different ~natural~ wines, but I'd say all are an especially acquired taste. Ambiance is awfully pretentious for a bar a few hundred feet from a Chipotle. Patio is quaint and doesn't allow smoking though customers don't pay much attention. The bouncer was sweet. He's a warm memory. read more

Finally made it to Bandini. Came at 5 when it opened. Ton of great wines - natural oranges on tap? Speak to my heart...yummy chilled reds as well. What threw me off was when i asked for a few tastings. I was met with a slow "within reason" and almost a negative tone. It's a wine bar...give me a tasting, and I buy the one I like. I just need a sip, which is maybe 0.5 ounces. This is pretty standard practice. He did warm up after the 3rd round... I'll still be back, but encourage the owners to at least give a few tastings without tude'. You think I'm just there to get tastings and walk out lol? read more

The bartenders could be friendlier to those who are not familiar with natural wine though; I witnessed them not be too patient with someone older who didn't realize the whole bar is natural. Just got hassled by someone who appeared to be a manager/owner? even after offering my service animal paperwork to the doorman. The guy said "we don"t allow emotional support animals" even after I told him she was a SERVICE ANIMAL. It's not only annoying, but ILLEGAL to discriminate when someone comes in with a service animal. We used to come here often but we won't be back. What a great space. At first, I was concerned that it was so dark, but once inside, the mood was perfect for this place. My friend loves it and could not wait to take me to Bandini. The wine and beer options were plentiful, and I choose to go with a white wine. It was lite and a not so strong sweet taste. If we had not had dinner reservations down the street, easily would have taken a second glass. The staff was friendly and took the time to hear what we liked and make appropriate suggestions from their selection. The bartender with long hair and the bouncer are very homophobic. At the very instance that I was there with my same sex couple, that shamed us and treated us terribly. We came with a big group of people and at 12:30 when we were still there they told us (the long haired bartender and the 50 year old bouncer) to get our and I quote "faggoty asses out" This is 2024 and this bar is in appropriate. We were the only people there and they wanted to close and they racially and sexually-oriented us pushed us out. It was something that I cannot believe would happen.
