The ambiance is super nice. However the chairs are super uncomfortable. They are little stools that are pretty small. My friend and I ordered the bread and lemon butter which came with 3pieces of bread and a little butter. I was a little disappointed the bread was super cold and a little hard. The butter was okay. It just tasted like regular butter with a little lemon zest on top. I don't think I would order again. The pistachio orzo is amazing. We basically licked the plate clean. Cool spot with good wine. Service is extremely slow. We sat for 25 minutes before anyone came to our table to acknowledge our mere existence or even drop off water. We finally got to ordering our second round, but it was forgotten. Our bill, which we never requested, was awkwardly dropped off instead by a silent hostess. I guess that was our cue to leave. Another 30 mins for them to process the bill as we gazed in disappointment at our empty glasses. :( read more

Came on a Tuesday night and the place was absolutely packed. Staff was very friendly, but everything was very delayed. We had a reservation for 7 and were sat outside to wait for over 30 minutes for a table... that we reserved. (Granted, I showed up for a part of 4 with a party of 2, so that could explain the delay.) We were then sat at the bar, which was fine, but there was only one person working and it was difficult to get his attention. I really liked the wine we drank, however I would not come back for the food. The cheese "crostini's" are so thin, they break when you try to spread cheese on them. The ratio of cheese to crackers (because that's what they are) was way off. We had to ask for more and still had cheese left over. The other items we tried (caesar salad and tuna tostada) were just okay, in my opinion. The ambiance is nice, however it was WAY too loud in there. The voices alone filled the room, but on top of that, the music was blasting and it was impossible to hear my friend. I realize this place just opened, so I'm sure there are still kinks to be worked out, but I don't think I will be returning any time soon. I had the nicest early bird solo dinner at the bar here last Friday. The bartender and staff were super friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations for food and wine, all of which were delicious. Had a lovely evening treating myself and making friends with the patrons sitting next to me at the bar. When a restaurant we wanted to try was mobbed, the manager? Owner? Tony of next restaurant (also mobbed) said he could seat us outside soon. Tables on the street. He was so very nice and charming. We felt very welcomed. Especially nice since I was taking a friend out for her first night alone since her husband suddenly died a month ago. The service was also fantastic. Our waiter Riley couldn't have been nicer, explaining everything, and giving us tastes of the wine. Plates were cleared promptly, water refilled. Now the food. Everything was delicious.... Fresh tuna tostada, scallop crudo dish, delicious pasta cooked perfectly with delicious sauce. Sweet Riley even gave us a dessert. This restaurant has only been open a week. The vibes are cute but really small. They sat us right next to the restroom against the wall on bar stools. Not comfortable ( we had a reservation). The wine is peculiar. Tasted mineral'ish maybe because it's so "natural". We ordered two appetizers. Got the hamachi and tuna tacos. Hamachi portion was insultingly small and expensive as were the two tiny tacos. Won't be going back unless they offer some kind of specials. Not worth the amount of money we spent. We were there less than an hour. read more

Had an amazing dinner here with one of my girlfriends sometime last month. The place was quite busy when we got there, but it didn't take too long to get seated. They sat us outside, and our server Riley was so wonderful. He chose a lovely white wine for us after looking at all the stuff we ordered (which was basically the entire menu) and it paired so nicely with our food. Decor, aesthetic and ambience is so beautiful inside. I wish we were able to sit in there, but it's ok. There's always next time! Can't wait to visit again! read more

First time coming here after being so excited to try this fairly new place here in Silverlake but after my experience here, I'm never coming back. So here is why: Walked up to the hostess and asked if there was space for 2 and straight off the bat, I get told there's no available seating. Even though I saw tons of chairs and a small table outside with no 'reservation' sign on it. She noticed I noticed, so with hesitation, she gave us the table. We were given a menu so we assumed we would get our order taken for our drinks. Waited nearly 15 minutes and nothing. The same hostess noticed the couple sitting beside us was also waiting to get their order taken and looking confused, when I overheard her tell them they can get up and order at the bar. Didn't have the decency to let us know as well. If I wouldn't have overheard this, we would still be waiting. My friend got up to order our drinks and said the bartender made eye contact with her and immediately pretended to do busy work to not take her order. He walked away until someone else had to take over and finally serve us our glasses of wine. The wine glasses were covered in pieces of crusted up old food, clearly not washed correctly. Literally the cherry on top. Looked around and everyone was getting attentive good service from the hostess and the waitress working that night and arriving customers were getting immediately seated. Also, not a POC in sight, except for us. This place was seriously so unwelcoming. If you're a person of color, I'd advise you to not spend your money here. Clearly racism was the issue. Intimate, in both vibe and space, but outperforms its size with a lovely wine list, excellent food, and a friendly staff. You're not going to Seco to fill up as if you were going to Park's BBQ, and you're not waking up at 6am to make a resy a month out. This was my second time at Seco and like before the food and wine were SUPERB, however, my experience was really ruined by such a rude server who didn't let us taste a wine because she "thought" we wouldn't like it, had a terrible attitude when we had any questions. I don't remember her name but she had long dark hair with short bangs and truly ruined our experience. I asked if we could sit at one of them but the hostess told me she had to give them to a new large reservation that came up. They seem to take very limited walk-ins (we went early) and the phone numbers listed online are not helpful it seems--just don't use those. We waited a bit for a table, as they are always busy, but our hostess was accommodating and we had great wine recommended while we waited. As for food, get the hamachi crudo (brown butter and yuzu are a winning combo and come through really well; though we needed more than 4 pieces of fish) and the iberico pork adobado tostada--both amazing. The bluefin tuna tostada was also flavorful and a generous portion of tuna each. Wine is varied and interesting with some great picks--ask for a rec and they often will let you sample. We had a 7pm reservation on Saturday night which was cancelled by the restaurant due to "maintenance" issues 45 minutes prior. It left us stranded for dinner plans especially on a Saturday night but things happen and I totally get it. The cancellation text let us know they would reach out to reschedule and we have yet to hear from them 5 days later. On top of this we walked the Sunset strip a couple hours later and saw they were in fact fully operational and seating and serving. Would have been nice if our reservation was honored later or we had ANY kind of communication. when i arrived the hostess said she would seat us inside, but when my two poc friends came we were sat outside. everyone who tried to do a walk in was met with "inside tables are only for reservations" however we had a reservation and were outside. as we sat outside we noticed mainly pocs were also sat outside. Not saying anything. it's just interesting. the service was the slowest ever. the two waitresses disappeared and then reappeared to be drinking wine with other guests. i understand being understaffed but this something else entirely. also, when we asked to explain the differences in two wines, the waitress didn't know anything. for a bar that specializes in only wine, this was a disappointment to have your staff not knowledgeable. furthermore, the food was mid. nothing to scream home about. i will not be coming back or recommending this place read more
