Gorgeous interior, friendly service and exceptional cheesecake! Unfortunately the rest of the food was just okay.

This place is so cute and food was really good. It's so nice to have something new and different in the neighborhood. Staff was really great and accommodating. Will definitely be back!

Casa Leo is Los Feliz's BEST new restaurant. The food is remarkable, the staff is so kind, the design is beautiful, and I've loved every time I've been here. Chef Josh is just so talented. Absolutely add this to your list- you'll love it!

The food at Casa Leo is made with such intention and mastery of flavor and artistic presentation. Every item blew me away with flavor and freshness. I felt like we were in Spain! What a perfect contribution to our neighborhood this is my new favorite spot. Do not sleep on the cheesecake. It is absolutely beyond. Run don't walk to Casa Leo!!!!!

Casa Leo is a really special restaurant, with incredible food, a beautiful ambiance, and the sweetest staff. We've been coming here since their soft opening, and always have the best experience. There's always a table open for walking in and everything from brunch to dinner is amazing. It's really a gem of a restaurant to have on Hillhurst and everyone needs to try it! Also if little doms is full, walk across the street for an amazing meal!

Just go! Soft opening! Amazing food and service. Only lunch hours for now but will have dinner hours in a month or so and liquor license next week fingers crossed.

    Cheesecake

Terrible... my second time I came here for my birthday I asked if I could order a glass of wine or a small appetizer and get a cheesecake on the house because that was what was promised to me (by Alex who wasnt there my 2nd time around) when I came in my first time. Also i confirmed with the male host working tonight and i called before coming and he said yes you get a cheesecake if its your birthday. Cool. So i show up and the host baits and switches the rule in person and says i need to order food. So i asked speak to the manager. and the chef / manager with a mole on his lower lip, with a white chef suit, who was being super vague making ish up, says I have to order 2 to 3 regular priced dinner items to get a slice of FREE cheesecake ( that cost $10 ) ... now why would I pay $70 for small tapas style portion food when they're being super greedy and stingy to offer a $.35 cent slice cheesecake LOL. Or when I can just pay $10 for their overpriced but delicious cheesecake myself without having to order any of their pork infested food i dont eat? Also, tell me why when the host was telling me about the menu, he counted like 7 items that were NOT available? Lol. Weird. Because of this poor experience, I genuinely hope this place fails miserably for how ridiculous and unwelcoming they are. Get out of my neighborhood transplants

    Ancient grains salad, excellent!!!

Excellent Ancient grains Salad, customer service, & has both lot and street parking options. Perfect lunch spot to meet friends or a business lunch. Comfortable setting & elevated food 10/10 . I need to come back to try their famous Cocas! I should have taken a photo before I ate it, but it was so good!!

    Truffle paella, wow!

Just got back from their paella drop, which was so amazing I had to go hug the chef! Deep, rich flavors, perfectly cooked rice, and as a bonus, insanely cheap for what you get. ($22 for real truffles!) We also tried their gazpacho, which you will initially think is a glass of orange juice, it's a lovely yellow/orange smooth puree rather than a chunky gazpacho, totally different than anything we've ever had. Total knockout, I could have downed 4 of them. The chef is crazy talented, I cant wait to go back and try everything he cooks. Go there. Nice people that really care about what they are doing.

The menu called me in and the food will bring me back! Los Feliz needed a spot offering something different and the current brunch menu is more modest than nearby "same ole dishes"....but the food is in no way modest. A fine hand is at work in the kitchen with a creative approach. The Sea Trout Lox was superb. The melt in your mouth Tortilla Espanola reminded me of those I had in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Argomaniz in the Basque region. Thank you @casaleo.la

There was ample al fresco seating, as well as atmospheric, candlelit dining inside. Menu items were reminiscent of my time in Spain and transported me back to my time there. What we ordered for the table, in order of preference: 1. Patatas bravas - fabulously crispy and flavorful. 2. Sardines - always a favorite, and the lemon zest contrasted nicely with the brininess of the fish. 3. Gambas - prawns were perfectly grilled and fresh. 4. Croquetas - love anything fried or crispy, so this was a classic choice. 4. Sardine toast - again, the lemon zest offset the fishiness beautifully. 5. King trumpet mushrooms - so umami, and almost tasted like steak. 6. The steak - loved the bright sauce that accompanied it. 7. Arroz - perhaps because I was expecting more of a paella dish, this one came out a little more textureless than I would've preferred. Decent flavor; just didn't entirely enjoy the mushy texture. 8. Morcilla de cebolla - I ordered this wanting to give blood sausage another try, but it's still not a favorite dish of mine and would not reorder. Overall, most dishes were enjoyable, well made and presented. We also enjoyed a carafe of basque wine, which complemented our meal very nicely. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there is street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. I was lucky enough to find parking on the street behind the restaurant.

Great place for couples, and a group of friends. Everyone in the restaurant was having a lovely time. Byron was my waiter and he was very attentive. I should say everyone was attentive. When food tastes good, I dance a little in my seat with a big smile. I guess one of the patrons noticed. As he was walking out, he said you're really enjoying yourself. I really was. The Paella Marinera dish seemed as if the ocean exploded in my plate The shrimp. The prawns. The calamari. The muscles. The clams. I was so glad everything was perfectly cooked and nothing was mushy. There was seafood in every forkful. The taste exploded in my mouth, and not a bland taste anywhere. My comfort were the plants I was seated next to. I touched them to check if they were real. They were real, and they were healthy. The owners care what the restaurant looks like because the plants are healthy. These little things I notice. I had a great time at La Paella. Also, there is a salty, brined, chopped olive Tapenade. 2) Paella is their own claim to fame so I ordered the Paella Marinera/seafood. The visuals did not disappoint. Requested the Spanish Bomba rice for more "authenticity" at an extra charge. Minimum order is sized for two persons. Two extra large prawns with heads attached which allowed me to sample the tomalley/shrimp butter which is creamy with a sea scented Umami along with the body meat. Four regular, steamed, headless shrimp with sweet meat. Seven clams, but over cooked. Eight mussels firm & meaty. Soft, bright red bellpepper slices contrasted against the yellow orange rice. The saffron tinted soft rice that held a delicate seafood broth hiding micro-squid, plush white meat fish. The Socarrat/the crispy rice at the bottom of Paella pan was minimal as requested since I didn't want the rest of the rice to be too dried out. Overall, the Paella was fine. (I keep using the Paella created by an art teacher from Spain, Miguel Duran, at his home which blew me out of the water as the standard so it seems most Paellas fall short.) 2a) Vino Tinto: Honoro Vera, Monastrell, Jumilla, España is juicy plum, blackberry with hints of cinnamon, dried thyme, dark chocolate, earthy, and smooth tannins. Made from Monastrell/Mourvèdre. 3) Flan de Naranja is smooth, not too sweet accompanied by a caramel sauce with a touch of orange flavouring, slices of fresh orange. Service is muted, abbreviated, non-effusive, but acceptable. The job gets done. Overall, 3+ stars.

I thought the service was pretty on point and they would always come around to check on us and always come over to fill our water and wine when it was empty. We ordered the special of the day steak, charred cabbage, head on prawns, starter(all four) with olives, cheese, cured meats and bread, calamari toast, and fritters and another bread dish to dip it into the prawns sauce. I would say that the fritters were a bit disappointing, it really could use an aioli sauce to go with it to really enhance this dish. It was just missing something and I think an aioli sauce could really help. My personal favorite was the calamari toast. Something about the way they cooked the calamari was really good on the taste and the how tender it was to eat. The toast soaked it in all the sauce too and I just really loved this dish. The head on prawns had a good sauce to go along with it and as recommended by the waiter that it is nice to eat bread with their sauce. Prawns were good as well. Surprisingly my 2nd favorite dish was their charred cabbage. It doesn't actually sound that special but the beans and the cabbage were really nice. I just think you have to try it as I can't even describe why it was so good to me haha. The special of the day steak was pretty good as well. If I have to complain, it be nice if they asked us how we would like it to be cooked because it did feel like it was a bit well done on our end but taste wise we thought it was good. The dessert: Didn't care for the Portuguese egg tart all but there's a very high standard for the egg tart but I did really enjoy my passion fruit sorbet that they provided and it was a huge scoop. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back and really did enjoy my time here.

The Spring Pea Cannelloni was very pretty, but the flavors didn't feel totally harmonious to me. Yes, you heard me right, not a slice but a whole pizza to yourself. As soon as the doors opened we were entering and going for a bar seat. The bar is set up in a square so the bartenders are able to take care of all their patrons comfortably. The weekly specials on food run all week and their HH runs from Monday - Saturday 5pm - 9:30pm and the wine HH runs 5pm - 7pm for $8 a glass. You must sit at the bar in order to redeem the wine HH. We both wanted a glass of wine to accompany our pizza and as I was deciding I noticed a bottle on the bar. I quickly picked it up and decided I wanted to try a glass of this interesting looking red wine. Turns out it is called Cartuxa EA Red Blend and it is from Portugal. After one glass I knew I wanted to purchase a bottle of this unexpected, well balanced and elegant wine. Total purchase price was a mere $34.00! Sold! I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere…read morefelt warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel genuinely cared for. The service was friendly, attentive, and never rushed, which made the whole meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was just as impressive, it was very flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully prepared, and you could really tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. What stood out most was the combination of great food and truly kind service. It's the kind of place you leave already thinking about when you'll come back. Highly recommend!
