Too long on the to do list, we finally could not resist to go there, and there was no reason to regret. Sitting on one of the outside tables despite still rather chilly temperatures, the heaters made it very pleasant and the noise level was substantially better than on the inside. The server was very knowledgeable and humorous. Most importantly, the food was outstanding, from fried cauliflower, phyllo pies, sweet potato, panroasted rock fish (rather than vermillion), malawach flaky bread, and for dessert a cardamom semifreddo. What was MIA: no espresso, which is really a deadly sin for a mediterranean restaurant ...

Steak 8oz, braised chicken leg and shrimp scampi

Came here for their seasonal steak menu which is very different since they are better known for vegetarian food (but never tried before) Obviously got the 8oz steak, the color looked brilliant and flavor is spot on. BUUUUT, this is one strong workout for my jaws and tongues. I usually go for medium or medium rare, but this steak is just not tender enough without like 38 bites? Shrimp scampi pretty sure I can make this at home with ease. Chicken leg is my favorite. The sauce is rich and flavorful best if you order some of their dinner roll and dip it in. However, again, it's a big chunk of meat so the interior is not seasoned well, and I start to get that uncomfortable taste from it towards the end. So the service is pretty slow, but they turned out to be really nice people. We were gifted many of their cute post cards before we left.. I probably won't drive 40 min for their steak menu. The $90 per person price tag doesn't help. Maybe I'll try their regular menu later, who knows.

We sat outside on the patio area, which is the only option when you're reserving online through Resy. The inside is very modern and cozy. The seats outside were not comfortable, especially since we were there for an hour. We got the bread with butter and sea salt which paired well with the soup of the day which was a tomato bisque. The house salad was unique given the cashew Russian dressing. For entrees we had steak frites and peppered honeynut squash, both which were mediocre. The rose water lemonade was quite unbalanced and tart but our server was attentive and great! I might come back to try different menu items but initially not the best impression.

Wonderful dinner service last night at Kismet. Staff was so kind to ensure no cross contamination for my friend with Celiac, many gluten free things to choose from! My favorite was the cucumber salad and coffee cardamom semifreddo dessert. But everything was season, well prepared, and delicious!

Went during the steakhouse takeover so didn't get to try the main menu but it was fantastic. Unexpectedly unique tasting burger was the highlight.

Great location & service. Top notch food, very hard to get Persian food right and these guys have done fantastic. Try the crispy rice, chicken, lebneh and cucumber salad. Cant wait to be back

Kismet is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and perfectly prepared. The staff are warm and welcoming. Cozy and intimate, a great spot for a date or to catch up with friends. We had a few new dishes that we hadn't tried before - fried cauliflower and sweet potatoes. So goood!

Waiting for their good menu instead of this one. Not a fan of a steakhouse when it is advertised as Veggie forward.

They were supper attentive and friendly. After I ordered I sat outside to people watch which was honestly really nice. Reminded me of Paris. My food came promptly thus after. The Tumeric braised chicken is amaaazzzinggg the chicken is so juicy and falls off the bone. The rice has some sort of crunchiness to it that compliments the entire flavor profile of the dish. The eggplant dip reminded me of the one my grandmother makes, dipped with the chicken made my meal feel really nostalgic. I've been back four times since and never regret it. We arrived midday on a Sunday and we're promptly sat, having been given the option for patio or indoor. We chose the patio, and between the clematis, lantana, and olive trees it is a very lovely setting in which to enjoy a meal. We were promptly brought a bottle of cold water and glasses, and our beverage orders were taken. I had a honey lavender latte with oat milk, and my husband had Lebanese coffee (no milk no sugar.) my latte was fragrant, the perfect temperature, and just the right amount of sweet. The Lebanese coffee was smooth, floral without being perfume, and excellent. We started with the falafel and the batata harra. Both absolutely excellent. For our entrees we selected the shakshuka and the Lebanese egg pie. Both were also excellent. Everything was well cooked, well presented, flavorful without being overwhelmed by any component. We took home a baklava tart, because we simply did not have the ability to eat more at the table. It was tender, moist, not too sweet, the pistachio flavor coming through as nutty and grassy, seriously so good! And it's worth noting, this whole restaurant is gluten free. I would not have realised if I had not known ahead of time. The texture of the pita with the shakshuka was exactly what one would expect, as was the bread of the egg pie. The pastry of the tart was flakey and delicious. And having said all of that, the service is what puts it above and beyond. Everyone was warm and pleasant, and seemed to genuinely appreciate the compliments. Staff seemed like they liked their jobs, which for me is always a good sign.

I love how big the naan is that they give you. They make it fresh too. Even though I've tried a bunch of their skewers, this time I tried the fish karahi, which came with my choice of naan or rice. I chose naan. It was really good but it was a little too spicy for me. The cashier told me they could add yogurt the next time around. However, what really stood out is how the fish was cooked. I feel in American restaurants, fish is just cooked in a way that makes it just taste ok. However, at like Chinese restaurants, they really know how to make the fish taste amazing and have it be so plump and juicy. They make their fish like that here! The juicy and plump way where you're just like, "Wow I just want to keep eating this!" I also got a chicken roll too which is fried and crispy. Good appetizer. They also have water for free here too but I didn't see the dispenser so I just brought something from my car in. The ambiance is cozy here. Nice seating area. Honestly, if you're with 2+ people (or even just really hungry), ordering by the pound with sides is way better value than getting individual plates. You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. Not an everyday order, but when you're in the mood for it, it hits. If you dine in, the indoor decor is super nice and really gives that authentic Mediterranean vibe. From the moment we arrived, the vibe felt off. The host who seated us (who later turned out to also be a server) left us at the table, and no one approached us for about 10 minutes. When a server finally came over, the first thing she said was "Ready? Ready?", no greeting, no welcome, nothing. We were never brought water. I had to ask a busser for it because the server walked past our table multiple times, clearly saw us, and chose to ignore us. The food runner was also rude, he dropped the plates on the table without saying a single word. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on us. No "How is everything?" No "Do you need anything?" Nothing at all. Meanwhile, we noticed that nearby tables were being greeted, checked on, and treated kindly. When we asked for the check, the server literally threw it on the table without saying a word. The experience was so bad that we decided not to leave a tip; Something we never do, especially since we truly value good service and I personally work in the restaurant industry. I don't know if the treatment had anything to do with how we looked or how we were dressed, but I've never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. The food may be fine, but the service completely ruins the experience. I would not return or recommend this place.
