Too long on the to do list, we finally could not resist to go there, and there was no reason to regret. Sitting on one of the outside tables despite still rather chilly temperatures, the heaters made it very pleasant and the noise level was substantially better than on the inside. The server was very knowledgeable and humorous. Most importantly, the food was outstanding, from fried cauliflower, phyllo pies, sweet potato, panroasted rock fish (rather than vermillion), malawach flaky bread, and for dessert a cardamom semifreddo. What was MIA: no espresso, which is really a deadly sin for a mediterranean restaurant ...

We sat outside on the patio area, which is the only option when you're reserving online through Resy. The inside is very modern and cozy. The seats outside were not comfortable, especially since we were there for an hour. We got the bread with butter and sea salt which paired well with the soup of the day which was a tomato bisque. The house salad was unique given the cashew Russian dressing. For entrees we had steak frites and peppered honeynut squash, both which were mediocre. The rose water lemonade was quite unbalanced and tart but our server was attentive and great! I might come back to try different menu items but initially not the best impression.

Wonderful dinner service last night at Kismet. Staff was so kind to ensure no cross contamination for my friend with Celiac, many gluten free things to choose from! My favorite was the cucumber salad and coffee cardamom semifreddo dessert. But everything was season, well prepared, and delicious!

Went during the steakhouse takeover so didn't get to try the main menu but it was fantastic. Unexpectedly unique tasting burger was the highlight.

Great location & service. Top notch food, very hard to get Persian food right and these guys have done fantastic. Try the crispy rice, chicken, lebneh and cucumber salad. Cant wait to be back

Kismet is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and perfectly prepared. The staff are warm and welcoming. Cozy and intimate, a great spot for a date or to catch up with friends. We had a few new dishes that we hadn't tried before - fried cauliflower and sweet potatoes. So goood!

Waiting for their good menu instead of this one. Not a fan of a steakhouse when it is advertised as Veggie forward.

We encourage reservations but walks in's can be accommodated!

    Do they serve kosher meat?

Not great on the weekends you'll have to pay a meter if you can even find a spot

We offer great deals on wines every weekday from 12-6pm.

Is the chicken or beef halal?

They were supper attentive and friendly. After I ordered I sat outside to people watch which was honestly really nice. Reminded me of Paris. My food came promptly thus after. The Tumeric braised chicken is amaaazzzinggg the chicken is so juicy and falls off the bone. The rice has some sort of crunchiness to it that compliments the entire flavor profile of the dish. It was superbly crafted, with flavors that were both rich and perfectly balanced. It truly offered a delightful taste of the region, making it a must-try for any visitor. Complementing the meal was their exquisite coffee, which was brewed to perfection. It had a robust flavor that wasn't too overpowering, providing a soothing accompaniment to the meal. The atmosphere at Levant is another highlight it's remarkably peaceful, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed dining experience. The service was impressively fast without sacrificing quality, ensuring that everything arrived promptly and with a smile. To cap off the meal, I indulged in their apple crumble for a little dessert, which was simply delicious. It provided a sweet and satisfying conclusion to an already wonderful dining experience. For individuals with celiac disease, even trace amounts of gluten can trigger a serious autoimmune reaction and lead to significant health consequences. Someone I know experienced a gluten exposure after eating here and became very ill. Because she is currently pregnant, this has been especially concerning and has added complications to what is now considered a higher-risk pregnancy. Many people do not realize that celiac disease is not a preference or minor sensitivity; it is a serious autoimmune condition, and even small amounts of gluten can cause substantial internal damage and serious health risks. I love how big the naan is that they give you. They make it fresh too. Even though I've tried a bunch of their skewers, this time I tried the fish karahi, which came with my choice of naan or rice. I chose naan. It was really good but it was a little too spicy for me. The cashier told me they could add yogurt the next time around. However, what really stood out is how the fish was cooked. I feel in American restaurants, fish is just cooked in a way that makes it just taste ok. However, at like Chinese restaurants, they really know how to make the fish taste amazing and have it be so plump and juicy. They make their fish like that here! The juicy and plump way where you're just like, "Wow I just want to keep eating this!" I also got a chicken roll too which is fried and crispy. Good appetizer. They also have water for free here too but I didn't see the dispenser so I just brought something from my car in. The ambiance is cozy here. Nice seating area. Worth visiting if you want really good LA Indian food and haven't been spoiled by extraordinary SF Indian food.

The seasoning and spices were on point. Great flavors, the right amount of heat, and something you can't really get elsewhere. My main issue was the quality of meat. Since this is supposed to be an affordable lunch spot, the meat was lower quality and really hindered the dishes. Too much fat, too much skin, too much gristle. I would love to see these spices on higher quality meat, that to me would be a 5/5.

Their arayes are a must -- it's basically like a lahmajun with two pieces pressed together, and it's insanely good. I usually go all in and order the tabbouleh, babaganoush, a pound of lula kebab, and shish kebab. Honestly, if you're with 2+ people (or even just really hungry), ordering by the pound with sides is way better value than getting individual plates. You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. Not an everyday order, but when you're in the mood for it, it hits. If you dine in, the indoor decor is super nice and really gives that authentic Mediterranean vibe. They also play a lot of 90s music, which somehow fits perfectly and adds to the whole experience. I've dined in plenty of times and the service is always solid -- staff is friendly and attentive. Just a heads up, food can take a little longer sometimes, but that's because they're always busy and everything is made fresh, so it's worth the wait. I've also done takeout here more times than I can count -- probably over 100 orders at this point -- which says everything. This is easily one of my go-to spots and I keep coming back for a reason.

From the moment we arrived, the vibe felt off. The host who seated us (who later turned out to also be a server) left us at the table, and no one approached us for about 10 minutes. When a server finally came over, the first thing she said was "Ready? Ready?", no greeting, no welcome, nothing. We were never brought water. I had to ask a busser for it because the server walked past our table multiple times, clearly saw us, and chose to ignore us. The food runner was also rude, he dropped the plates on the table without saying a single word. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on us. No "How is everything?" No "Do you need anything?" Nothing at all. Meanwhile, we noticed that nearby tables were being greeted, checked on, and treated kindly. When we asked for the check, the server literally threw it on the table without saying a word. The experience was so bad that we decided not to leave a tip; Something we never do, especially since we truly value good service and I personally work in the restaurant industry. I don't know if the treatment had anything to do with how we looked or how we were dressed, but I've never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. The food may be fine, but the service completely ruins the experience. I would not return or recommend this place.
