Mediterranean option in the world of Korean Food.... Had KBBQ the night before so we're looking for variety when in Ktown. Landed here due to the high reviews. Spot gives sports bar, and the server came up immediately. We ordered koobideh, rack of lamb and hummus. Koobideh was moist (sorry hate the word) and good flavor. Lamb chops were well done, which isn't my fav (prefer medium to medium rare) but had a nice char. Salad dressing that came with the salads was unique. The acidity was needed. Hummus was probably my favorite thing. Not sure if we would be back, but solid option in ktown if you do want variety. read more

Delicious food and excellent service. Went there before a show at the Wiltern and enjoyed a relaxing meal sitting in the outdoor patio. We came here for Nowrooz lunch. I was skeptical of trying a Persian restaurant in Koreatown as we normally drive to Westwood for great Persian food. I'm so happy we tried this place - it's Westwood quality without having to drive all the way there. We tried their perfectly made kashkebaddmjoon, combo of chicken and beef shish kebab and chicken koobideh for my son. The food was chef's kiss. We parked in the front meter parking but there's valet available. The service was friendly - our waiter was a younger gentleman. The vibe is like a mixture of casual + fancy. I'd say TehranRo Grill was one of the most pleasant surprises I've had in a while, trying new places in Koreatown. I visited with my family to celebrate my birthday on a Tuesday evening, and we were seated promptly, with no wait time. Friendly people, cute little space, but it was the bursting flavors that really made this celebratory dinner unforgettable. We got the beef & lamb koobideh, chicken shish kabobs, and shrimp kabobs. My jaw was already on the floor when I saw the portions--but oh my goodness, everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The shrimp were so plump that even my picky choosy mom thoroughly enjoyed them! I actually get kabob cravings quite regularly. And to think all this time, I've been ordering underwhelming deliveries from the mid places when TehranRo Grill is just a short 10-minute drive from home? Damn. I've been missing out. Nice little place for dine in, with many tempting appetisers to choose from. We decided to try the eggplant delight, it's served warm and it's delicious! The soltani kabob was okay, not extraordinary. Tahchin was only available on weekends so we ordered this too, the baked rice was crispy on the outside and soft inside with shredded chicken in it sprinkled with barberries on top. The persian tea is just hot black tea, I do like it slightly bitter with no sugar. Service is excellent, definitely a five star. There's valet parking available for $4. read more

Solid Persian/Middle Eastern restaurant in Koreatown! I visited this restaurant for an early Sunday dinner and my experience here was pretty good. Firstly, my friend and I were served an appetizer of flatbread and seasoned raw onions. We also ordered a hummus on the side. The hummus might have to be my favorite thing that we had here. It was so creamy and flavorful. It paired nicely with the onions wrapped up in the flatbread. It also paired well with the upcoming dishes we had. For the main entrée, I ordered the Koobideh Combination and it was good and standard. The minced chicken and beef logs were flavorful and juicy. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. Finally, the veggies were nicely charred and I liked how juicy the tomato was. The portion size was also massive. I had to to-go my leftovers which was good for 2 additional meals. For $23, it was a good value for the amount of food you get. The service was also good and our server was friendly and attentive. The interior was also nicely decorated and mostly clean despite being an older building. Overall, a solid experience here. I've had better Middle Eastern food elsewhere in LA, but this is a good option for an area that has predominantly Korean food options. This has to be my favorite place in ktown. The food is DELICIOUS. I can eat my whole plate (but I won't feel good doing so lol). My go to dishes are the koobideh combination plate and hummus! I wanted to like this spot. I really did... This establishment has an open space but the tables were very close together. The parking situation is not the greatest. It's valet only and street parking is almost impossible to find. We were greeted when we walked in and was seated immediately. The table we got was small and next to a wall that was vibrating and shaking the table. I requested to be moved and they were happy to do so. Service was excellent! However, I am only writing a review based on the salmon plate I got. It was fishy. I did not like it and I did not want to eat it. I regretted getting fish as it was pricier. I had these stupid plastic eye guards over both eyes and some small dorky looking sunglasses that the surgeon provided covering those plastic guards. I could barely see anything and at that point I was worried I would never see again. THe staff in the restaurant didn't laugh at me or ask any dumb questions. They just treated me like any normal customer. Thanks for that because I felt like an idiot. Anyways, this is hands down the best mediterranean food I've had in my life, and I've been to both the Middle East and Mediterranean countries several times. I'm not kidding. THat's not something normal to say. The chicken and beef were so juicy and flavorful. the hummus was so freaking good that I bought extra to bring home. Everything that entered my mouth and traveled down my neck was a gift. Almost made me forget that I couldn't see anything. Upon first observance of the menu, the prices are a bit HIGH. It can be a little intimidating. But the good thing is that you can easily get two meals out of what they provide. At least with what I ordered. So if you do the math, you can kind of cut the price in half since you'll get two servings out of it. It's been two weeks now, and I can see. I can see really good. Well I am referring to both chicken and beef Koobideh. Usually, you can find good beef Koobideh, but I will put this chicken Koobideh against any. I usually don't get my joojeh (chicken) kabob bone-in. But my friend suggested. Oh WOW, it was delicious. I almost ate the bones as well. On that day, I couldn't stop eating. Because it was wholesome, clean in terms of preservatives and delicious. Needless to say, my next meal was the dinner I had the following day. I was so amazed with the food that I forgot to mention the appetizers. The appetizers were equally as delicious. I came here with my friend last week (3/11/2025). I live in west LA close to the little Tehran Westwood blvd but the last few places I went in little Tehran, I wasn't happy about the food. So I ventured out. It was so worth the drive. Food was fresh delicious! The meat, Rack of lambs and Cornish hen were succulent and perfectly seasoned! The servers were very nice!!! It was Tuesday and the baklavas weren't ready yet- that was the only complaint. Now we have a good reason to return on Wed or weekend for baklavas. Valet parking ($4) made it so much easier. This is hands down the best Persian food I have had in Los Angeles. The koobideh reminds me of being back in Iran and it is absolutely perfect. In my opinion it is better than Raffi's in Glendale, it is less expensive, and it is not as crowded. That is a shame because this place deserves to be full every night. The ambience reminds me of a café back in Tehran, quiet but elegant, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes the food taste even better. It is the kind of place where you can actually enjoy your meal without the noise and chaos of a busy restaurant.
