Raffi's is one of the best restaurants!! The quality of food is unmatched! We love their soltani kabob entree. We get a couple of them and make it family style and share all from huge portions! We get it with baghali pilaf and it's delicious! Sometimes there is a wait for the food but that's because it's always busy here!

Chicken Soltani

Got seated right away for a party of 2 on a Sunday evening, which we were pleasantly surprised with. We ordered a Shish Kebab plate and a chicken Soltani along with an eggplant dip. The eggplant dip was tasty and the complementary pita paired very well with it. However, we waived over 45 min for our food. We ended up eating the eggplant dip in its entirety before the food came and were table to try them together, which I think would've been really good. When the plates did arrive, portions were abundant and good for the price (approx. $32 per plate). The shish kebab was super soft and tasty and the rice was well cooked and flavorful. Unfortunately, the chicken was very under seasoned and totally dry. Very disappointing. Ambiance is nice and service is good, but I did leave quite underwhelmed

I've heard so much good things about Raffi's place and barely had the chance to go and check it out. Came for lunch with my sister. It was a rainy weekday. Being our first time visit we made the noob error by walking in from the Broadway entrance. The front desk is located in the rear coming from the alley. With that said we had a short tour of the establishment. The place is huge. Initially you'll walk into the outdoor area which is covered, if that isn't your thing there is a full indoor area as well. That day in particular was rainy so the covered outdoor area wasn't going to do it for us. Looking over the menu you find very familiar Mediterranean dishes. We were very curious about their Persian stews since we've never had it before. We ordered Chicken kabob, Koobideh, and Fesenjān. All orders came with their own rice and a side dish of toppings to add to your entree. The chicken was dry, I enjoyed the koobideh, but the real star of the lunch meal was the Persian stew. It was soooo goood. The place is pretty pricey, but the venue speaks for itself. I do highly recommend stopping by for lunch sometime or have a party and celebrate something with the people you love. Parking: paid structure parking, valet VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

We came on a Friday around 5:30 PM, and luckily it wasn't too crowded. We parked at a parking garage that was a 4 min walk from the restaurant, though I believe they also offer valet service. The restaurant has indoor seating with a unique open-roof section in the middle, which gives it a nice atmosphere. We ordered the koobideh and the shish kabob with albaloo polo. The food came out quickly, and the service was friendly and attentive. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. The portions were generous, which made the prices feel very reasonable. We'll definitely be coming back!

The best place for middle eastern food. It's always delicious. The service is fast and friendly. Great for small or large groups because they have lots of tables. Park in a nearby structure or they have valet.

Went to Raffi's Place on a Friday night and had an amazing experience. It wasn't crowded at all--busy, but with plenty of tables available, and we were seated immediately with no wait. The staff was incredibly kind and even offered to store my luggage so I didn't have to carry it around, which was such a thoughtful touch. We started with the eggplant dip--smooth, flavorful, and delicious. The flatbread came out wrapped in a red cloth; it was thin, light, and paired perfectly with the dip. I ordered the shish kebabs, and the meat was extremely tender. The rice was fluffy, and everything came together beautifully. The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable, yet still feels elegant and inviting. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back to try the rack of lamb. Highly recommend.

We came for lunch to celebrate a birthday on New Year's Eve. They don't take reservations, so we arrived before their opening at 11:30 am. Although the restaurant was open early, we still had to stand in line as names were not taken until 11:30 sharp. When we arrived, we could smell the food being prepared. There was a separate line for pick up orders, and we saw customers walking out with large bags of food. When our party finally got seated, we were approached by a friendly waiter. He didn't rush us and was helpful throughout our meal. Some of us ordered family style. I got to enjoy different proteins such as chicken, beef, and lamb. All were delicious. I enjoyed the bread with hummus too. I don't think they charged for bread, but hummus was extra. Parking in the public lot a couple blocks away offered free 90 minutes, and a small $2.00 fee for each additional hour. I'm glad this restaurant was selected for the birthday celebration. They did charge $10 cake fee since we had our own birthday cake. I'll be back again!

Beef Koobideh with Cherry Rice

We just paid another visit to my favorite Persian restaurant, Raffi's Place. My previous review down below covers all the details, this one being an update. Food 5 stars: This time around we ordered the Shirazi Salad (diced tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions and mint with their special dressing) the Chicken Koobideh Kabob (a.k.a Chicken Luleh kabob; ground chicken with spices) and the Beef Koobideh Kabob (a.k.a Beef Luleh Kabob; ground beef with spices), both with Albaloo Polo (Black Cherry Basmati Rice). Both were excellent. Juicy and cooked to perfection. The rice was fluffy and delicious, with just the right hint of sweetness/tartness. Drinks 5 stars: We had the sparkling yogurt drinks that may be an acquired taste and not for the faint-hearted, but it goes very well with their food. Service 4 stars: The service was also great. Our server was polite, efficient and attentive. The Bottom Line 5 stars: Raffi's Place is still the GOAT. The BEST Persian food in LA, bar none. A must visit for locals and tourists! Highly recommended!

This is the best Persian restaurant I have been to. All the skewers were delicious! Everything tasted fresh and the meat was of good quality and not over cooked. The rice was fluffy and the eggplant appetizer is a must. Really unique flavor. The customer service was great! We ha d large party and they severs were well organized and very welcoming. The restaurant itself is nice not too loud and very clean. Pro tip park across the street or use the valet parking for $15.

I'd been excited to finally try Raffi's Place, as it's a famed LA restaurant, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. We arrived on a Sunday around 12 pm. We took a few minutes to find street parking, which was a short walk from the restaurant. The restaurant was already busy, with many tables full. We were seated immediately and a waiter came over and brought us waters and menus. The ambiance here feels very traditional. I wasn't sure if they had any indoor seating as we were seated outside and didn't see an indoor seating area. The outdoor seating area is in a covered courtyard with open air. All the tables were covered with white tablecloths which gave the ambiance a traditional feel. We ordered eggplant dip to share between us. We thought it would be like a baba ghanouj, but the consistency was very chunky, and not really creamy. We both got kebabs with rice for our mains. Unfortunately neither of us really enjoyed these. The meat was tender, but my husband's chicken kebab was dry. It came with cherry rice, which was unique, as we'd never tried it before. My koobideh (lean ground beef) was much better than the chicken. It was tender and juicy. I didn't think it was amazing though, and overall our food was lackluster.

Last time I came to Raffi's was a few years ago and the food was not good. Not what happened but this time I went food was just amazing. DeliciousX Service was quick. Everything was top notch. I'm so happy I came back. It is my old-time favorites kebab restaurant. Full house on a Wednesday night, That's great for them. Pretty chilly but heater is all around. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

Soltani Kabob

My fiancé & I set a goal that for 2026, we're going to be a bit more adventurous. We're big foodies but how can we claim that title when all we eat is Japanese, Korean and a little bit of Filipino/Vietnamese food here and there?? So here we are. Trying something new... and wow! Glad we finally got to try this place after seeing it on Vloggers Vic & Jeff's videos. We got their soltani kabob (filet mignon & ground beef combo), as well as ikra and mast-o-khiar. Eggplant is actually a vegetable that I really like but don't eat often, and I could not stop eating the eggplant dip with the bread they provide. The portion size for this plate is MASSIVE. At first I was a bit skeptical about spending $80+ for lunch but I'm so glad we only got one plate because we had enough left overs for the both of us for dinner too. Lamb is actually one of my favorite meat so I'm really looking forward to going back and trying their lamb kabob and shank, as well as the rice crust with stew. Service was attentive and quick, both our server and busser were nice. We did get sat in a bit of an awkward spot for today's windy weather but once we got the other heater turned on, it was much more comfortable. They were busy for lunch too compared to the surrounding competitors and they definitely live up to the hype. Will definitely be making a trip back soon!

Are they Pet friendly?

Wow!! I'm surprised at the aggressively negative answers regarding pets. I think most dog owners who ask are responsible owners. There are lots of fine dining places that are doggie friendly. I love Raffi's and come often but it's SO busy that I… Read more

Are reservations necessary?

No, usually they dont require a reservation. but there might be some wait time, especially on weekends. I would suggest calling them in advance if you have a big party.

Hi there! I'm going to likely be having a family reunion there. I'm vegan and am wondering about my options now rather than when the time comes. What vegan options do you provide? :) thank you!

The salads are a meal in themselves, but there are vegetable dishes, too. Try the eggplant!

Do you take reservations?

Yes.

Can you order online for pickup?

Yes.

Is yelp waitlist open on fridays?

Yes! We were there on a Friday recently and there was a waitlist. Apparently the restaurant chooses when to let that happen. Depending on holidays or popular events.

As of March 17 2023 do they have valet parking and do they use yelp reservations?

You go into checkin and then from that point they update you on Yelp where your position is. You can't make a reservation online.

Do they have gift certificates?

Yes. Gift Certificates. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to become a card-carrying VIP for not just of The Tam, but big sister, Lawrys, La Cienega Blvd.

Do you do catering?

Yes, I've used them amazing

Do you take reservations?

Hi! We used Yelp's wait list and were able to get in very easily. It's on their website.

Any pets allowed?

I was informed "Service Dogs" only. Hope that helps.

Good for a big group?

Yes, call ahead to see if they can arrange it.

Do they allow small pet in patio?

Maybe, it is best to call as their policies may have changed due to COVID.

Do they stop serving Olivier Salad?

Can I bring a birthday cake to the restaurant?

Absolutely - they were very nice when I brought an ice cream cake to the restaurant - they kept it in the fridge or freezer for me. I believe they have a fee for the cake cutting if I remember correctly.

How about parking?

Get into Raffies as if you were going to park valet then turn left towards the street and you'll see public parking if you don't want to park valet. Public parking it's on Broadway and Artsakh. I paid $2 for 3 or 4 hours on a Sunday.… Read more

Does this restaurant require a vaccination card to eat here?

I was there earlier this month and they didn't - they said that Glendale wasn't requiring proof of Vaccination yet. But I would definitely call just to double check since things are constantly changing nowadays.

Is it Armenian or Persian?

Persian!

I found this Kabab place which I wanted a non chain restaurant and when we got there, it was perfect. A small family owned restaurant and I would bet that he was the owner. I knew exactly what I wanted and went with the Combo plate of Beef Shish Kabab and Beef Luleh with basmati rice and the Pork Kabab which are actually pork ribs. Really good flavor and pretty tender. I don't find pork dishes to often at Kabab places. It's the main reason I wanted to try this place. The older gentleman was great. He took our order, prepared and cooked our order, and served our order. We ordered the Irka which is an eggplant dip, and he gave us complimentary cucumber yogurt and potato salad. Every dide was delicious and went well with our entrees. I like restaurants like this because it really makes you feel like you're visiting at someone's house and they're making their food from their homeland for you.

I had the luleh kabob and it was good but I think I'm a bigger fan of panini kabob. The bread was standard fare as well as the sides. If ever in the area again, I will likely check out the other spots recommended by locals. This place is more of a 3.5 spot but rounding up for service. The smokers outside kind of ruined a nice meal we were having inside because the door was open. That was not cool but whatever
