Dune has been on my "to try" list for a while. What a gem! The food was SO GOOD. We arrived around 7 on a Saturday night. The darling patio was pretty full but we had a very short wait. Out server Emily was a delight. So friendly and accommodating (and thanks again for the Baklava!) We had the lamb shwarma plate and the fried chicken plate, both with hummus. Also a side of the Za'atar/sumac fries. Fries came out first PIPING hot, crispy, seasoned perfectly nom nom. The entrees quickly followed. The lamb was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. And the fried chicken was AMAZING. Shwarma that is breaded with an amazing mixture and fried. Genius! The plates also came with hummus topped with whole chickpeas (YUM), dilled rice, a cabbage salad and other greens, grilled pita bread, olives and my personal favorite, pickled radishes. Many reviews describe them as beets (which I also love) but these are radishes and they pair so well with the rich meat. An umami bomb! Portions HUGE (we have a full meal waiting in the fridge) and prices very reasonable. Patio is a very fun hang with pretty lights. My only knock is on the chairs which are not exactly "comfy." But that's a trivial issue. Service was attentive and staff so friendly and helpful. I can't remember Emily's colleague's name but shout out to her and her Rasputin's shirt (yay Berkeley vibes.) I've been here a bunch of times and it feels like whenever I'm in the Glendale area I somehow end up back here. It's a Mediterranean spot that serves some really good food. I almost always go for the hummus meze platter which comes with hummus, rice, salad, pita, falafel, and your choice of protein. I usually get the fried chicken which is crispy on the outside and moist inside. I also like to order a side of fries to share. They come out nice and crispy and are topped with sumac which gives them a really nice flavor. One thing to note is that seating is all outdoors, so if it's cold just bring a jacket. This grilled chicken souvlaki rocked my world. The chicken tasted so fresh and had a really nice marinade. Loved the fresh flavors inside with the cucumber, tomato, feta, onion. The flatbread was nice and warm and a good size. I paired it with the Arnold Palmer which was refreshing, but I would try something else next time as I think I wanted maybe a hint of sweetness. Dune is delicious! Produce always seems super fresh and the chicken is juicy and well seasoned. As someone who is gluten free I appreciate that they can sub out the pita for some cucumber slices on the mezze pIate. I also love their mint iced tea. Our food typically comes out quickly, but my one complaint is that it's only outside seating and relatively limited. I know that their brick and mortar space is not big enough to accommodate inside seating, but it would be so nice to have a location with a vibey indoor area. (Look up the original cover, haha) It's slightly casual in that after order you sit down and wait for them to bring you your food. Of course there's a server that helps you if you wanna order more you need anything I've had this place bookmarked for a long time and been wanting to go. I finally got to go here for dinner because I was going to a concert in the area at The Greek and thought this was a perfect place to eat prior to show. I ended up ordering a falafel plate with some mint tea. I thought everything was well prepared and really delicious. The falafel had great texture and flavor and the hummus was very flavorful as well. The entire plate was definitely a lot of food, but not too much. I still felt light walking up that hill to get to The Greek. Overall, the experience was great pretty quick. I found myself in Glendale and had this place book marked for a while now. It's a walk up order and they have outdoor seating you can wait in line for. We ordered the fried chicken hummus plate and a side of fries. We also ordered a rosemary lemonade. The lemonade was just ok pretty boring actually, wouldn't get again. As for the food, everything was fresh and flavorful. The chicken was moist and well seasoned, the fries were nicely seasoned and fresh. I have had this place bookmarked for years!!! I recently saw this place online so I finally tried it out. Visiting Glendale Blvd. parking can be tricky, but not impossible. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this is not indoor dining. It is strictly outdoor seating with a welcoming atmosphere. Once our order was taken you pay upfront which is weird...with tip of course, which I guess goes to the kitchen and not the servers? I'm not entirely sure. I ordered the falafel sandwich and the fries to share. The sandwich was very healthy and so filling I could hardly eat it like a sandwich haha. I love Dune! I've tried the beef plate and chicken plate (both doordashed so I really need to try in person) but even with doordash, it is incredible. The chicken or beef are really flavorful, spices on point but the true stars are the sides. The freshness from the herby salad, the acidity from the cabbage salad and the two little peppers (hit or miss on if it delivers spice) complement the food so well. The pita that it comes with is very fluffy and is also glazed with an herb oil. The rice is standard so nothing that stands out but nothing bad about it. Dune ended up being our final lunch choice after a rainy Friday at the Los Angeles Zoo. When we first walked up, we assumed it was a to-go or takeout spot because of the service window and outdoor seating. Turns out we were wrong -- the staff was super friendly, let us know they offered table service, and quickly got us seated. The service was great from start to finish. There were four of us, and everyone ordered something different: a meze plate with grilled chicken, a steak gyro, a hummus and grilled chicken plate, falafel, and we shared the fries with feta. You know the food is good when everyone stops talking while eating -- and that was definitely the case here. Even though it was cold, rainy, and a few of us got a little wet (which wasn't the most comfortable), the food more than made up for it. Portions were generous, everything was well plated, and overall just really satisfying. Big kudos to the team at Dune. All in all, it was a great Mediterranean meal after a long day of activities. Overall the food was good, the plate was balanced of course, just how mediterranean food should be - the meat, rice, bread, salad, pickled stuffs, hummus, etc. The presentation was pleasant too. On the other hand, I did not expect the lamb to be in a patty form, it is not noted anywhere. The patties were ok, not anything that I would recommend (for context lamb is my favorite meat). As a Middle Eastern man, I'll admit I may be more critical than most, but I also noticed there weren't many Middle Eastern customers, which felt like a small red flag to me. The cabbage salad had way too much lemon, the hummus was overloaded with garlic, and the regular salad was just... a salad. The pickled veggies were very acidic but crunchy. Easy 5 stars rec here. Dune makes yummy food, and serves healthy sized plates. Their falafel is currently my favorite. It's crunchy on the outside, and soft and flavorful on the inside. Also, it's green and moist inside, unlike the dull brownish, dry, falafel you find at a lot of other spots. The plates are what I'm most familiar with, btw. That said, the steak and fried chicken is consistently top notch. The chicken is crunchy and juicy, and the steak is tender, meaty, juicy, and has an excellent char on it. The hummus is smooth and creamy and covered with chick peas, the raw red onions are very mild (you'll be pleasantly surprised, and they're still crunchy). The service is friendly (they can get busy, so you might need to get a servers attention to order). The ambiance is lively and "hip." You will be seated outside, on the sidewalk (no indoor options), and the seating is fair--not the most comfy but serviceable. Also, you pay immediately after you order. Parking can be difficult but not impossible, and it's worth enduring for the meal you'll be eating. Most of the street parking is for one hour only, so set a timer to refill if necessary (you don't want a parking ticket). The prices are very fair when you consider the amount of food and quality of what you're getting. It might be one of your favorite spots even after your first visit. I don't know if it was because I didn't tip on a carry out, but a chicken plate is 27$ at the tail end of 2025. Also, after I inquired about utensils, he told me 'you're all set.' And guess what? Finally tried Dune and grabbed one of their chicken shawarmas, don't remember the exact name, but it was solid. The chicken was juicy and had a nice seasoning, nothing too heavy, just clean and flavorful. It came with fries on the side that were crispy and well seasoned, which is always a plus. I also tried their falafel, and it stood out. Super green on the inside, fresh herbs for sure, and it wasn't dry like a lot of falafels can be. Crunchy outside, soft inside, really good balance. Delicious, generous portions in a charmingly decorated roadside outdoor seating area. I was highly impressed by the fried chicken and falafel plate for $24, it includes so much food that it was difficult for one person to finish - probably a good plate to split! Look underneath - there's cabbage slaw, a green salad, generous helping of pickled radishes, a generous pile of pickled onions, then the hummus taking up all available space, then the pita and fried chicken and falafel piled on top in a second layer. There isn't shade but in the early evening in May, the area has cast shadows from the orientation of the street. It was pleasant seating in the expanded sidewalk area, and generally okay for low noise of passing traffic since there's enough of a distance setback but every now and then a particularly demonstrative car with a removed muffler would tear down the street. The meal came with house flatbread, which was very filling, pickled turnips/radishes, marinated cabbage & onions, greens, and dill rice.
