Stopped by The Running Goose for a quick bite and it was such a good find. From the outside you could easily miss it, but once you walk in and head to the back patio, it's this cute outdoor space full of plants that gives total Italian vibe. We ordered two appetizers, the lamb chops and the calamari, and the portions were perfect. Filling but not too heavy, and honestly went really well with a beer and a glass of Chardonnay. Staff was attentive and really kind the whole time. Parking was available but limited. Definitely a spot I would go back to for dinner or even lunch.

A special place. We decided to spend a special occasion here. We were lucky Superbowl was taking place so less people out and about and restaurant was pretty empty. Got seated immediately and food came out in under 10 minutes. Once again staff is good and patient at explaining their menu. Customer service is good. Loved my steak and eggs. My bf loved his beet salad, two toastadas and fried calamari. If this is your first time or you haven't even tried it before you got to try their toastadas. We love this place and like telling people about it.

I stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant that transmits you to Europe when you walk into the patio area. 10/10!!!!!! The service was excellent and I felt taken care of in my experience here. THE FOOD IS SOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the gambas, calamari, and bacalao as an appetizer and they were all really good. ESPECIALLY THE GAMBAS!!!! LITERALLY THE BEST IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. So simple but also soooo delicious -- please try it! Overall, if you're in Hollywood, come to Running Goose. It's now my favorite restaurant in LA !

Easy 5 stars. I'm honestly shocked this place exists. The Running Goose is global comfort food done at a level you don't expect walking in. Started with the grilled brie -- wow. No idea what magic was going on there but it was insane. Then the smoked potatoes... that sauce was unreal, like spoon-it-straight addictive. The gambas came out sizzling with garlic, sweet cherry tomatoes, and perfectly cooked shrimp -- and that dipping bread... unreal, soaking up every drop. Then the mains... short rib and duck. Both ridiculous. The short rib was fall-apart tender with a sauce so good I was literally eating it by the spoon. The duck? Same story -- crispy, juicy, balanced, just dialed in. And honestly, once the food starts hitting like that, you already get excited for dessert because you know you're leaving satisfied. We went with the bread pudding and the crème brûlée -- both exactly how you want to end a meal like this. Every single dish hit. No misses. Already planning my next visit to go through the entire menu.

The service is very nice and personable, but we didn't enjoy the food tremendously. Went here before the pantages matinee on Saturday. The baked : roasted Bree was very exciting as it was sizzling as it came to the table, but I really didn't enjoy either of the toast which was cracker consistency or the apricot jam.. the flavors were just not a good mix for me. The brie was totally melted and really there was not much flavor there. I had the wild boar hash and it really just tasted like regular pork. There was nothing spectacular about it although it was well done and the egg was good. My dining companion had the Chilaquiles. She remarked that it was more like a bowl than regular chilaquiles , which would have a lot more chips in it.

Great hidden spot in Hollywood. Amazing food and great service. I got the short rib and it was delicious! And split the horchata crème brûlée which was spot on in flavor and not overly sweet.

My friend and I came here for dinner before going to watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Hollywood Pantages Theater. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that we ended up here for dinner. Everything, and I do mean everything, was so freaking delicious! The baked brie had that quintessential velvety texture while the apricot compote worked well to enhance and complement the flavors. The smoked beet quesadilla was described as cactus tortillas filled with queso, parm, and beets, topped with radishes and pepitas, and laid on a bed of basil crema - intriguing to say the least. And let me tell you, the dish was fantastic! The smoked beets were perfectly tender and paired well with the cheese and basil crema. And of course I can't live without spice so I added their housemade habanero sauce as a finishing touch. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was first-class, and the patio decor and ambiance made a splendid backdrop for our night out. What else could you ask for? ;) ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

    Lamb chops! So good

I decided to come here on a Thursday night on a whim and let me tell you, it was one of the best places I stumbled upon! Ordered the following: Lamb chops - cooked medium rare and had some sauces that came with it, perfection! 5/5 Pork belly pincho - the plum sauce paired very well with the pork belly, although it was a little too burnt fit my taste. 4.5/5 Gambas - great shrimp with bread and tomatoes, although the sauce was a little too oily in my opinion. Overall very solid! 4.5/5 Game salad - very nice and refreshing, and great variety of flavors! 5/5 Overall, I'd visit again if I were in the area!

    Roasted 1/2 Chicken

So so good! The service and food were both incredible. They also have an outdoor seating area which felt very serene in the middle of Hollywood. We started with the Corn and Arugula tostadas and the Smoked Potato -- I would highly recommend the Corn tostada and the Smoked Potato! We had the Roasted 1/2 Chicken and the flavor was great. We also had the Gringo Burger, which seemed liked it was cooked on a grill so it added a small char taste. If you look past the (very) little things, you will absolutely love this place.

Fried calamari and shrimp gambas. Perfect!

Time goes by and we are so happy to see Running Goose stand the ground, despite fierce competition, skyrocketing rents and economic slowdown. We visited in 2025 and it was as good as back in 2021. The shrimp gambas is still my absolute favorite. The steak and frites was great. Roasted veggies were extraordinary, perfect recepie. Wrapped up in light strings and covered with trees cozy veranda is very romantic. The service has always been friendly and attentive.

We made an early reservation at Running Goose in advance of a show at the Pantages. So happy to have found this place! The heated covered patio was so cute and garden-like. Our meals were excellent- we really enjoyed the carrot starter, and I loved my Vegan vindaloo. Wonderful, attentive service and we made it to our show with plenty of time to spare.

And it happened again: a wonderful dinner (b4 Wicked) with well curated dishes in a trendy environment in midst of Hollywood boulevard and nonetheless secluded from the masses. And every single dish was on point and presented by the owner family with attention/love. Baked Brie, duck, carrot tostada, beet quesadillas, game lettuce etc all without exception were outstanding! PREVIOUS REVIEW A gem just off Hollywood Blvd. Looking for a dinner place before hitting the Pantages Theatre, the Running Goose was a perfect choice. It turned out that the valet parking proved to be a whole evening bargain compared to area-prizes otherwise. Most importantly, however, the place was very cute, the staff knowledgeable and attentive, and the food just perfect. Light, fresh, tasty and excellent to share.

The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. It was very flavorful and probably better than Holbox-- if you have been. 10/10 (2) TUNA CARPACCIO YUCA TOSTADA #2- this was the best bite overall, it is definitely small and you finish fast but the flavors were just outstanding. The tuna itself was so fresh and it had a nice acidic flavor with the perfectly crunchy tostada!! 10/10 (3) KANPACHI CEVICHE #3 - a coconut predominant flavor with a mild acidity to it. It also pairs with plantains and they were fresh and perfectly crunchy. Was weary about the corn at first but honestly couldn't taste it and it was so good! (4) AFRO-CARIBBEAN SHRIMP DUMPLINGS #4- my bf loves shrimp and said this was very tasty. I'm not the biggest fan of shrimp but thought it was very creamy, fresh, had the classic shrimpy sweetness and a coconut creamy sauce to pair with it that when used on the rice tastes like a sweet milk rice. These were cooked perfectly. (5) fried chicken #5 - solid fried chicken and good crunch to it with the chicken being very well cooked but I cant say I was blown away by it, it has good flavor when dipped in the sauce which has a nice smokiness and acidity to it that makes it really tasty. However if I came again, I probably wouldn't order again. Lastly we ordered the toffee dessert which was classic and yummy. Nice shareable size. Overall, would return 100% and bring friends from out of town. Terrific flavors and service and definitely a top LA restaurant.

First of all, our server was wonderful -- incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. He gave thoughtful recommendations and explained the specials so well that we were immediately tempted. The chimichurri was delicious -- bright, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Paired with the fresh, warm table bread? So good. Even though I normally can't resist empanadas, we followed our server's recommendation and started with the morcilla (blood sausage). It was incredible -- rich, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. For my entrée, I ordered the Fresh Spinach Pappardelle and took our server's suggestion to pair it with pesto sauce. As someone who loves pesto (and finds it surprisingly hard to get right in Southern California), I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. It was fresh, vibrant, and satisfying without being heavy. My boyfriend ordered the Lomo (center-cut filet mignon). He's a sous chef at his own restaurant, so he's extremely critical when dining out -- and he had nothing but amazing things to say. That says a lot. The food quality was superb, the service was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall vibe was perfect for a Valentine's dinner.
