Came here to work for a little while and had the grain bowl with chicken and two matcha lattes. The grain bowl had really good flavors, although the chicken and eggs didn't seem quite as fresh as I would have liked. The matcha lattes were good though. Really nice space overall, especially the patio. It's a great place to hang out or get some work done for a while. There were also lots of interesting conversations going on around me, which gave the place a fun, lively atmosphere without being distracting. Service was great. My waiter was friendly and attentive. Overall, a nice spot with a great patio and good atmosphere. I'd come back, especially to work and grab a matcha.
The multigrain pancake was absolute perfection. That's all that needs to be said, but I'll still call out the Umami Salmon Bowl and delicious matcha. Will be back!
Tried the 3 course DineLA dinner menu $45. Picked here for the and lush patio and proximity to hollywood bowl. Server was friendly and even shared which items are full portions for DineLA! ~First Course~ Parker House Rolls Went with this bc they are known for bread. It is similar to Hawaiian rolls and tastes great, but I don't think it was necessary to eat this here. The store bought ones, after some prep, can be comparable. Roasted Meatballs might be more money worth for the 1st course because of portion! Comes with a slice of focaccia bread. But the bread came a little cold so wasn't the best tasting. ~Main Course ~ Crispy Skinned Rainbow Trout Amaze amaze amaze. Would order this again! The trout was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, flakey and tender. Not dry at all, which is my biggest pet peeve against fish. This is also very money worth because reg price is $31 and they gave the full portion. Mary's Chicken Schnitzel Very tender chicken! I know it's like European but... my taste buds wants to put katsu sauce on it. ~Dessert~ Panna Cotta I was a bit apprehensive going with this order because I'm not big on jello-like pudding, but this version was milky and soft which I much preferred. And I enjoyed scraping everything off the plate. The other dessert option was chocolate cake (not full portion) and it is delicious. Would rec. ps. they also have a seafood selection that was very tempting!
I've been meaning to try Superba for years, so when a friend recommended it for lunch, I was keen to go. First impressions were great, the space was more massive and beautiful than I anticipated. A gorgeous outdoor patio that felt like a little garden oasis and a beautifully spacious interior had me enchanted. Our server and the hostess were both warm and welcoming, but the food just didn't cut it for me. I had my heart set on the grain bowl before I even walked in and ordered it with chicken. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly our orders came out until I noticed that the grains were missing from both dishes. Turns out they were out of rice and forgot to mention it when we ordered. They were gracious and offered us quinoa as a substitute but, unfortunately, the quinoa couldn't save dish. I found it incredibly bland and it seemed like chicken and egg had been precooked leading it to be on the drier side. Portion size was good and the dish itself was beautiful but, honestly, I've had better grain bowls at Sweetgreen.
Superba is the perfect spot if you want a quick balanced meal. They have tons of outdoor and indoor seating. The chopped chicken salad was actually so good and filling, I loved the vinaigrette, it was bright and refreshing. And the rainbow trout was cooked well. The cinnamon sticky bun was pretty good, but it was a little overdone so the bottom was quite hard. The black sesame matcha was okay as well, I didn't really taste the matcha or the black sesame.
Superba Food + Bread has 5 locations around LA but this Hollywood is like a hidden garden gem. The patio is so darn cute and even used for movies & shows sometimes - a friend of mine filmed this week there! It's truly a beautiful space and feels so relaxing when dining there. I had dinner with a friend here and we loved everything we had. Service was the perfect level - kind but not over~the~top, checking in just the right amount, making sure we were well taken care of. Clean bathrooms, too, haha! Now the drinks and eats! I absolutely loved my Pecan Cold Brew (6.50) and was surprised to see such an option at dinner! It was perfect. My friend had the beautiful Ginger Thyme Lemonade ($6.50) which was also just delicious. I highly recommend everyone try their 'Selection of freshly baked breads with all 4 spreads' for $29 if it's your first visit in. It's a filling starter of a few of their breads (the pre-buttered & chives topped charred levain was exquisite as is - no notes!) and a few of their toppings. My personal favorite of the toppings was the fresh cheese with honey & salsa macha - our server said it was their favorite, too - but there wasn't a bad topping in the lot. Butter + Salt was simple but lovely. The Charred Eggplant spread was sweet in a good way with walnuts and pomegranate molasses. The smoked trout was nice to have a meaty option with smoked onions mixed in, topped with roe. We had the Bluefin Tuna Carpaccio ($27) starter which was light but beautiful with meyer lemon, chives, sea salt, and sourdough crisps. Everyone recommended me the Fried Brussels Sprouts ($15) before I went and y'all were right! They come lightly fried with red flame grapes, walnuts, and pecorino cheese all mixed on the plate Fell in love with Superba Food + Bread and can't wait to go back. I hear their brunch is fabulous, too!
The worst. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend whom I trust. the three of us were totally disgusted by the food. First it took a very long time to have the food delivered to our table. We did not get any bread ? when they brought it, it was so gross. You can see the picture of my pasta very oily and it was tasteless. I guess it must be easy to wreck a pasta dish. I would never eat there again ever ever it just questions my faith in eating in restaurants it's really rare nowadays to get a real good restaurant. There is a Superba in Calabasas but based on my experience I will not try it. The waitress warmed up in the end although I disputed the 3 % extra tax called happy and something else. The nerve after the wait and the horrible food. Valet was $10 and the hostess almost let door hit us when she took us to our table. All around a bad experience.
So lovely inside for dinner or outside for lunch or just a drink. While I mostly come for the ambiance, you have to have the hen of woods mushrooms for an appetizer! Just WOW
First time dining at Superba - we arrived at 8:30pm and it seemed like they were closing already? I always take into account not sitting somewhere just before closing, but this was an hour and a half before closing and we are pretty quick when dining. The host promptly sat us on the patio, but tables looked cleared of settings and some didn't have table lamps like others. The service made us feel like we were a bother for being there. It made us regret choosing to spend our money there. I loved the Little Gem Caesar, the Rigatoni Bolognese. We returned the brussel sprouts and my husband was unimpressed with the double cheeseburger (to be fair, I thought it was good!) The server who took over for ours, was sweet and welcoming. Unfortunately, we won't be giving it another try here.
This place was so cute! Loved the grand entrance that takes you into the patio dining. You'll have to walk around to get to the host, where you'll end up at the indoor dining area. It was such a nice day when we went so we opted to wait 20 mins for patio seating. I wasn't sure what was the best items here but I opted for the lox and schmear and it was just what I needed. Great food, great vibes. I would definitely see myself bringing friends here.
Superba Hollywood gets a lot right aesthetically, but the dining experience left us wondering whether the restaurant is more focused on finding new things to charge for than serving good food. My mom ordered a biscuit. The server asked whether she wanted butter, and she also requested jam. There was no mention that either would cost extra, yet the bill included $1.50 for butter and $1.25 for jam. I ordered the double cheeseburger and asked for a slice of tomato. That added another $1.50. Then, on top of everything else, every table is charged a 3% "Happy + Healthy" surcharge. I expected to pay extra for oat milk in my chai because it was clearly listed on the menu and that's become fairly standard. The "Happy + Healthy" surcharge was also listed on the menu. The butter, jam, and tomato were another story. Those charges weren't disclosed when we ordered and felt like an unpleasant surprise at the end of a mediocre meal. Unfortunately, the food didn't justify the nickel-and-diming. The "crispy" breakfast potatoes arrived whole, not cut into pieces, and were firmer than crispy. The chai had an odd aftertaste. The burger was overly salty, and the biscuit tasted like it had been sitting around since the day before. It certainly wasn't warm or fresh from the oven. The cleanliness was also disappointing. The seat cushion where my mom was supposed to sit was visibly dirty. When we pointed it out, our server explained that guests sometimes bring dogs or put their feet on the cushions and that they try to clean them weekly. Weekly isn't enough. We were the first customers of the morning and the only people there when we arrived, so it would have been easy to seat us somewhere clean. To be fair, the courtyard is beautiful, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Those positives, however, couldn't overcome lousy food, surprise charges, and cleanliness issues. We won't be back.

We sat outside in the beautiful patio with plenty of share from the trees. Biggest challenge sitting outside during a February heat wave was the falling leaves and pollen on plates and in drinks. To start, I had the Fried Brussel Sprouts were yummy - the grapes added a nice sweetness and the pecorino gave the right hit of saltiness. My main was the Umami Salmon Bowl, which was a 9 out of 10, my salmon was done a bit too much on one side of the fish, but the glaze in it was delicious. The grilled broccoli added some smokiness, the pickled daikon added a crunch, and the kimchi added a spicy freshness. For dessert, I ordered the Butter Pecan Ice Cream with an amazing praline crunch. Sweet, creamy, nutty, crunch - a great way to end the meal. I ordered an espresso to balance all the sweetness.

I came here for a birthday-eve celebration with my parents and after a blistering hot day walking around LA this served as the perfect reprieve. Every part of the meal was amazing, but what topped it all off was excellent service by Megan! I would go back for the Penicillin, burger, and bread and butter alone, but Megan's attentiveness and warmth made this a must-return spot for me! read more
Wow! Superba has it all. Immaculate outdoor seating, perfectly attentive service and delicious food. My matcha lemonade and cheeseburger were so good. The cheeseburger was probably one of the best I've had in a while. Perfect toppings and flavor. (I love that it didn't have lettuce or tomato). The portion was perfect and the fries were a 10/10. I also tried my friend's BLT and it was GOOD. I can't wait to come back. read more

I managed to come here before heading to an event. I needed to kill some time and I couldn't have found a better way to do so. Staff here were very warm and friendly. Supper helpful with the menu. I'm more than happy with what I ordered. I'm usually very hesitant for cinnamon buns but it was absolutely fantastic. The overnight oatmeal was everything but boring. It was tropical and gave me a new happiness in oats. I loved the seat I chose because it just looks so beautiful. I know I will be back specifically for the overnight oats. Came here on a Friday evening with a big group. We were able to grab reservations the day before which I was shocked, due to how cute the restaurant was! (However, it was raining quite hard that day.) Everything here was amazing! We did a family style kind of dining and everything was delicious! Also loved that they timed the appetizers first and asked us when we wanted the main dishes to come out. They had a nice variety of food and were very accommodating to any food allergies/restrictions. Our server was also outstanding! According to the receipt, I believe her name was Megan.. Hands down, best service I've experienced for a big group of people! She was super kind and friendly and everything went so smoothly. Thank you Megan! For dinner, the ambiance gives cute, mood lighting vibes with lots of candles! I only have great things to say about this place. Just a fair warning, parking isn't the best but.. what's new? read more
First off this restaurant is beautiful! We parked across the street and from the outside it doesn't look like much, but once you see all of the outside seating and how beautiful it looks inside, you will be impressed! Service was great! I got an iced tea and their chorizo breakfast burrito ($17). Burrito was big. It had veggies inside it, potatoes, and came with some hot sauce on the side. My friend got their tuna albacore melt. She enjoyed it as well. Would definitely be back to try some other options on the menu. read more
This place is exactly what I need in my life. Crispy, chewy, crunchy breads with spreads that will knock your socks off. Yes, please. I had the Caesar salad, 10/10 no notes. Delicious food, a warm atmosphere and great service. I'll be back! read more

Came here after doing a quick search for a dinner spot near the Fonda Theatre, and I'm so glad we did! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but the outdoor patio is where it's at. It's intimate and charming with a fountain, lanterns hanging from the trees, plenty of greenery, and cute bistro tables. Even on a warm evening, it was really comfortable outside. They're known for their bread, so we started with the recommended $10 bread and butter sampler, and the bread topped with cheese and green onions was absolutely incredible. Just don't make the same mistake we did and fill up on the bread before your meal! We also ordered the Brussels sprouts, and I highly recommend them. They were crispy with a delicious balsamic glaze. I'd never had Brussels sprouts with grapes before, but they added the perfect touch of sweetness. For my entrée, I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as I ordered, and for some reason their fries were just really, really good. My husband ordered the thick noodle pesto pasta, which was also amazing. The only thing I'd mention is that it doesn't come with a protein, but since I had plenty of steak, we shared. The cocktails were delicious and beautifully presented. If I had one small critique, it's that almost everything we ordered was on the salty side. We definitely drank a lot of water afterward, but honestly we still cleaned every plate because it was that good! Overall, I'd absolutely come back. I loved the atmosphere, both inside and out, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and it's the perfect spot to grab dinner before a show at the Fonda. read more

Okay I'm updated to four stars because my eggs weren't hot, just barely warm, when I tried the cheesy toast. AND the seasonal pumpkin pie is lackluster. Crust was soooo oily. Plus the filling was super mushy and I like my pumpkin pie to be slightly firm, just enough so that it holds shape when you cut it. Maybe this would've tasted better if I put it in the fridge first to let it firm up a bit. On a positive note, definitely try their tuna melt! The tuna is fantastic! And I absolutely adore their housemaid chips. Anyways I still love Superba- always will! read more

Returned to Superba for dinner and had a much better experience in the evening! Came here for an early birthday celebration for my partner and we shared the bread plate with the addition of "good salt and butter". The breads were fresh out of the oven and I particularly liked the one that was already buttered. I had the tagliatelle (vegetarian friendly) for my entree and my partner had the rigatoni bolognese. The rigatoni was al dente, which my partner enjoyed. We split a chocolate layer cake for dessert, which is definitely geared for chocoholics. Overall, it was a cozy ambiance for an intimate dinner and I'd really recommend getting the bread. read more
First time at the Superba Hollywood location since we were in the area. We opted to park in the residential streets as opposed to valet. Docking a star because the smell of urine was so strong at the entrance of the restaurant going in and leaving. The intensity of the stench caught me so off guard. Food, on the other hand, was delicious. I really enjoyed the assortment of bread, pasta, and grain bowl. Everything tasted healthy and flavorful. No complaints. Service was also friendly. read more
Delicious spot my friend who lives here recommended! The spot didn't disappoint. We got a bunch of appetizers to share including the bread basket and the butter- everything was really good. All the breads were delicious. We sat outside which was nice because the outside was nice - we got a few drinks and the drinks were really good! Fantastic brunch/lunch spot in Hollywood. Tucked away inside a lovely courtyard, Superba is a lovely respite away from the bustle of Hollywood. Plenty of outdoor tables are available and this is definitely a great spot for that quintessential LA brunch vibe. read more

Came here with my husband for brunch. I made reservations beforehand thinking there was going to be a wait but when we got there it wasn't too busy. The ambiance is nice. Inside is cozy feeling and they have a big outdoor patio. We were seated on these couches right next to the fireplace. I loved the vibes! Their Honey Bee cocktail was delicious. A perfect balance of tart and sweet without being overly sweet. For food we ordered the Breakfast Burrito and Albacore Tuna Melt. Flavors were pretty good but I wish the burrito had more of the cheddar crust. read more
