Butter Pecan Ice Cream
AndyMike E.

Came in for lunch with a group of 6 on a Wednesday during DineLA. Since we made a reservation ahead of time, our table ready to go. We sat outside in the beautiful patio with plenty of share from the trees. Biggest challenge sitting outside during a February heat wave was the falling leaves and pollen on plates and in drinks. To start, I had the Fried Brussel Sprouts were yummy - the grapes added a nice sweetness and the pecorino gave the right hit of saltiness. My main was the Umami Salmon Bowl, which was a 9 out of 10, my salmon was done a bit too much on one side of the fish, but the glaze in it was delicious. The grilled broccoli added some smokiness, the pickled daikon added a crunch, and the kimchi added a spicy freshness. For dessert, I ordered the Butter Pecan Ice Cream with an amazing praline crunch. Sweet, creamy, nutty, crunch - a great way to end the meal. I ordered an espresso to balance all the sweetness.

Came here on a Friday evening with a big group. We were able to grab reservations the day before which I was shocked, due to how cute the restaurant was! (However, it was raining quite hard that day.) Everything here was amazing! We did a family style kind of dining and everything was delicious! Also loved that they timed the appetizers first and asked us when we wanted the main dishes to come out. They had a nice variety of food and were very accommodating to any food allergies/restrictions. Our server was also outstanding! According to the receipt, I believe her name was Megan.. Hands down, best service I've experienced for a big group of people! She was super kind and friendly and everything went so smoothly. Thank you Megan! For dinner, the ambiance gives cute, mood lighting vibes with lots of candles! I only have great things to say about this place. Just a fair warning, parking isn't the best but.. what's new?

Returned to Superba for dinner and had a much better experience in the evening! Came here for an early birthday celebration for my partner and we shared the bread plate with the addition of "good salt and butter". The breads were fresh out of the oven and I particularly liked the one that was already buttered. I had the tagliatelle (vegetarian friendly) for my entree and my partner had the rigatoni bolognese. The rigatoni was al dente, which my partner enjoyed. We split a chocolate layer cake for dessert, which is definitely geared for chocoholics. Overall, it was a cozy ambiance for an intimate dinner and I'd really recommend getting the bread.

First off this restaurant is beautiful! We parked across the street and from the outside it doesn't look like much, but once you see all of the outside seating and how beautiful it looks inside, you will be impressed! Service was great! I got an iced tea and their chorizo breakfast burrito ($17). Burrito was big. It had veggies inside it, potatoes, and came with some hot sauce on the side. My friend got their tuna albacore melt. She enjoyed it as well. Would definitely be back to try some other options on the menu.

Delicious spot my friend who lives here recommended! The spot didn't disappoint. We got a bunch of appetizers to share including the bread basket and the butter- everything was really good. All the breads were delicious. We sat outside which was nice because the outside was nice - we got a few drinks and the drinks were really good! Service was also nice, food came out quickly and it was pretty easy to order. Parking can be hard but there a few parking garages closeby and street parking also.

This place is exactly what I need in my life. Crispy, chewy, crunchy breads with spreads that will knock your socks off. Yes, please. I had the Caesar salad, 10/10 no notes. Delicious food, a warm atmosphere and great service. I'll be back!

FRENCH TOAST

Okay I'm updated to four stars because my eggs weren't hot, just barely warm, when I tried the cheesy toast. AND the seasonal pumpkin pie is lackluster. Crust was soooo oily. Plus the filling was super mushy and I like my pumpkin pie to be slightly firm, just enough so that it holds shape when you cut it. Maybe this would've tasted better if I put it in the fridge first to let it firm up a bit. On a positive note, definitely try their tuna melt! The tuna is fantastic! And I absolutely adore their housemaid chips. Anyways I still love Superba- always will!

Fantastic brunch/lunch spot in Hollywood. Tucked away inside a lovely courtyard, Superba is a lovely respite away from the bustle of Hollywood. Plenty of outdoor tables are available and this is definitely a great spot for that quintessential LA brunch vibe.

First time at the Superba Hollywood location since we were in the area. We opted to park in the residential streets as opposed to valet. Docking a star because the smell of urine was so strong at the entrance of the restaurant going in and leaving. The intensity of the stench caught me so off guard. Food, on the other hand, was delicious. I really enjoyed the assortment of bread, pasta, and grain bowl. Everything tasted healthy and flavorful. No complaints. Service was also friendly.

Indoors

They have a lovely outdoor patio with umbrellas with shade and an equally gorgeous indoors, where we sat. One downside of our experience were the flys during the earlier part of our meal. We ordered the turkey sandwich, chicken sandwich, and chilaquiles. The setting was more impressive than the food. The chilaquiles chips were already soggy and may have been sitting out before it was sent to the table because there was very little warmth to the dish. The chicken sandwich was underwhelming. The turkey sandwich did come with a generous portion of avocado. Over all I gave 3 stars, but if I were to break it down, it would look something like this: 5 stars for ambiance, 5 stars for service, 2 stars for quality of food and silverware. Had to add the silverware because the fork was bending--please invest in better silverware.

Found this place on yelp while in the area and really enjoyed it. Such a cute place for a lunch or dinner, loved the decor and cozy feel. Ordered a pasta, broccolini and some fries to share between me and my friend. It was a good shareable portion. Service was good and quick, wasn't too busy when we went around 2pm.

Good food in a pleasant courtyard setting. The inside is nice as well. Our table had French toast, a couple lox salads, a chicken sandwich, tuna melt, turkey club, and holloumi. All of it was good. The only downside was it all came at once. The French toast was a starter for the table and salads as well. We ordered as such but it all came in one big setting. Pace your order unless you want it all at once. Our server was helpful and prompt.

Ask the Community - Superba Food + Bread Hollywood

What are the busiest times?

I'd say brunch and dinner.

Do they have gluten free options?

Is this the kind of place I can get a coffee and get some work done on a laptop?

I think so. It feels more like a restaurant where they want to turn over tables rather than a coffee house, but there were smaller tables too. I'd call and ask.

For brunch, do they serve mimosos or any alcohol?

Do you guys have valet parking?

I believe they have valet during peak dinner and maybe brunch hours but not lunch during the day. I think.

When do you stop serving brunch?

Great question! Brunch service is from 9am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.

I see a photo of a grain bowl, but didn't see it on the menu - is this place vegetarian-friendly?

Hi Heather! Thanks for reaching out with your question. We do have a Grain Bowl on our lunch and brunch menu. It is a Vegetarian dish. It can also be made vegan by withholding the egg. We do carry many Vegetarian and Vegan dishes and options.… Read more

Is the hippie burger vegan? Any other options?

No it isn't unless you get it with no bun..i think the green bean side order is vegan.

Is the patio doggy friendly?

Do we need reservations for brunch?

While they're not required, it's probably a good idea if you can. We made them when we went.

Passionfruit cream filling wasn't too sweet. I loved the tart passionfruit seeds. But you might want to scoop some out if you don't enjoy too much sourness. Elderflower Rhubarb Danish - way too crunchy, would prefer it to be crispy instead of a crunch. Filling was good, not too sweet. Black Sesame Parisian Flan -if you love black sesame, this would be right up your alley. Perfect sweet treat to bring to any auntie's home! Blueberry Tea Scone -not too dense. Surprisingly not too sweet even with the demerara sugar coating. It wasn't really crunchy but more sticky and caramelized from sitting.

I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant.
