Had breakfast with the wife here over the weekend and ate some yummy food! This place is still vibrant, packed, and full of good eats and drinks. Had the opportunity to talk to the owner and he seemed like great guy who loves his restaurants and is trying to provide the best quality experience possible for his guests. I know the gov that all you typical LA dorks vote for make it hard for these businesses to operate, so the least you can do is support the businesses you desperately try to shut down with massive regulations that I'm sure you support with a good heart. Perfect spot for Sunday breakfast, the food is delicious, food comes out pretty quick but you still have enough time to talk, enjoy the ambiance and the music. I typically bring my tourist friends here as I think it's one of the better brunch spots for American fusion with that SoCal vibe. What I usually get: 1. Migas with scrambled eggs, jalapeños, chorizo sausage, tortilla chips, mozzarella, pico de gallo and grilled potatoes 2. This is one of our favorite spots to visit when we're in LA, and this morning (10/9/2026) reminded us why! The food was delicious as always, and the service was wonderful. We had such an amazing experience at Blu Jam Cafe on Melrose! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was wonderful. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict, which he loved, and I had the Crunch French Toast--it was incredible! We also got to try the lemon crepes, and they were amazing as well. We tried Blu Jam Cafe for breakfast and the experience was great. The employees here were very friendly and approachable to any questions and concerns we had. The manager was especially was very nice in helping us figure out the parking validation, as we had trouble leaving the parking garage after our meal. Everything we ordered tasted delicious and freshly made, but I will say the wait time to receive your food can be long. Dishes came one by one and while 3 of what we ordered came at a fairly reasonable time, the 4th dish took longer than the rest, odd. I had the French toast churros, and they were delicious, although I will say they are on the sweeter side, so the first few bites will taste good, but it might be too sweet for a breakfast choice. The complimentary strawberry crepe that was give to everyone was delicious and flavorful, I liked it! The rest of our party enjoyed their breakfast entrees as well, everything was freshly made and flavorful. The pricing here is quite high, but considering the area, you can't expect it to be cheap. You definitely can get some of the menu items cheaper elsewhere. Overall, it's a great neighborhood breakfast spot, but just don't expect it to be a cheap one! read more

This was our first time visiting Blu Jam Cafe. The owner-chef was in the restaurant and was incredibly friendly. In terms of service, be ready to order through a QR code menu or the front register, which does ask for a tip at time of order. You can leave a tip at the register after the fact, too. The service was very fast, and always helpful. The food was very filling. The chef/owner said they cook everything fresh. The food was high quality, especially for the price! Blu Jam Café is the perfect place for a ladies brunch, a catch up meeting, a casual yet delicious café where it feels safe and down to earth and you are surrounded by lovely people! I went to Blu Jam for a meeting with my girls and loved every bit of this experience. I'd been to the one in Studio City but it's always packed so there's usually a wait. I guess people around Melrose don't wake up as early so we had a fabulous table and the always great service at our disposal. We ordered the best things on the menu and omg, they did not disappoint. The soup was spectacular and my eggs. We're cooked to perfection. It was a lot of food so we ended up with doggie bags to enjoy later. Loved being there enjoying such great tasting brunch. Yum! First I'd like to say I wish yelp gave you the option to give half stars because I would give them 3.5 not 3. The highlights first, the chilaquiles are so good, the chicken tinga flavor was delicious and I loved the serving size. I will say it's very wet so the chips were a little too soggy for liking but I got a side of chips and it was great. My wife ordered the Benedict's and she said they good! The French toast was okay in my opinion. Service is non-existent because you order from the QR code. And outside of the person who dropped by to give you water, drop drinks, and food absolutely no one came by to ask about our experience. I hated this personally! I ordered the "Simply Eggs" breakfast. I was brought French toast without notes or comment by the waitstaff. So I went to the counter to sort that and they agreed to bring me what I ordered. When the group I was with was mostly finished, my order finally arrived, cold. Once again the very friendly manager offered to have it fixed and I accepted. The third and final time I was brought my order (well after my party was finished eating) my over easy eggs were fried hard. I appreciate that the manager had no issue refunding the meal, but I'll never be back nonetheless. So, if you just need calories head on in. But if you want a cafe where they are capable of making eggs, look elsewhere. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic - a brunch spot that is incapable of making eggs. read more

You do not get a waiter everything is either ordered at the front when you walk in or at your table online through a QR code. Food is cooked with a lot of butter. I got the blt and the bread was coated in butter as well as the side potatoes were great but very buttery. I would order the BLT again no buttered bread. The rest aunt was great lots of area to sit indoor and outdoor. We went on a Saturday at 10am and did not need to make a reservation and lots of street parking options. The lines around Blu Jam are not crazy now- except for Sunday Brunch. So I assumed the food has lost its edge But a friend who has been travelling world really wanted to go so we went. I have to say the food was excellent. Really fresh, made with love and great portions if you're hungry. To be this good takes a little while to cook to order, not just microwave. They gave us a wonderful amuse-bouche to share whilst we waited for food we actually ordered and had to pay for...A small pancake with jam (which is delicious and fruity and I'm a jam snob). Blu Jam Café has been one of my go-to brunch places for years. They have a bunch of creative and tasty options, key among them is the Crunch French Toast, which comes with this delicious vanilla bean sauce (which is a sauce made from vanilla beans, not one that mixes vanilla and beans). I suggest ordering this with a couple eggs. Though it's not the only good thing on the menu. I also like their Chilaquiles and the Breakfast Pasta. Also, their coffee drinks are really good, especially their iced lattes. As for the place itself, it's clean, has nice high ceilings, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Though it still manages to get crowded on the weekends. The staff is also nice, and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. It's also easy to park, relatively speaking (it is Melrose, after all) My only complaint, and it doesn't keep me from going, is that I prefer how it used to work pre-pandemic. Back then, you'd get seated, a waiter would take your oder, etc. Now, you either have to use an app while sitting at a table, or you have to order at the counter and then sit down. Maybe I'm just an old fool, but I prefer the old school. But like I said, I've never balked at going there because I prefer to waited on hand and foot like a jerk. Our waiter informed us to order at the counter when we were ready and we did. The breakfast scrambles were good but could have used a little more seasoning. My crew really enjoyed the French toast. As we sat, we happened to get complimentary strawberry crepes, which were delicious and great way to make your customers smile. This restaurant definitely gives you a lot of food and we were all full and happy. As an Uber eats driver, I pick up food at this place. I don't know why but the way they have it set up if you go in if it's not ready, they never let you know how long it's gonna be. When you ask the server or counterperson just ignored you and never responds. I find it odd that they're just not a little more service oriented for their drivers that deliver the food for them. This is always been my experience here. I've been coming here on and off for years to pick up orders and there used to be someone here that was extremely rude. 1st off place is to hyped up and did not measure to it. The food was bland like no seasoning or salt. The crisp of the potatoes was good but with a bit of seasoning it wouldve been better. The only good thing was the french press coffee. Nice and strong. Service was ok. Was just seated and for a big party only once did anyone come to ask if things were ok. I hadn't visited this place in over a year, so we decided to stop by for breakfast on a Monday late morning. I noticed that a lot has changed. I'm not sure if the owner has changed or if they're just trying to cut costs, but the food is still good, even though the menu has been altered a bit. The ambiance feels more like a soccer pub now, but without a full bar, which seems off given the name of the place. The manager was sitting nearby, playing videos at full volume, and while there was soccer on TV, jazz music was playing in the background, creating a confusing atmosphere. This spot used to be bustling, with lines outside at any time of day. It's disheartening to see such a great place decline in some way. The kitchen staff are hardworking and friendly, but I feel like the front team--possibly managers or supervisors--aren't making the best decisions for the establishment. So much potential, yet the wrong people making decisions. Maybe they still have time to flip it around. 3 stars for the videos I had to listen while the manager had his food. read more

Strawberry mint drink was our favorite but we did try the apple juice which was freshly squeezed. Actually went back and had it twice because we really enjoyed it, food was consistent both times.
