My homegirl came here for breakfast with a friend, and while there were definitely some highs, her meal was unfortunately a miss. She started with a mimosa instead of the mimosa flight, and she gave them plenty credit--because her mimosa was STRONG. They definitely aren't skimping on the liquor! For my meal, she ordered the breakfast sandwich, and unfortunately, she would not order it again. The bread/biscuit was extremely dry and crumbled apart as she tried to eat it. She ended up taking the sandwich apart and just eating the sausage, egg, and cheese because the bread was honestly that dry. If you're ordering this, she would recommend having something on the side to add some moisture because it just wasn't working for her. On the other hand, her friend ordered a breakfast combo with eggs, potatoes, and breakfast sausage, along with a side of pancakes, and his meal was actually really good. So clearly, there are some solid options on the menu--it just seems like whoever was in the kitchen that day- skipped a step or two. Overall, the mimosa was a win, my friend enjoyed his meal, but the breakfast sandwich was a hard pass for me. She expressed she'd go back and try something else because she doesn't think one disappointing dish is enough to write the entire place off. read more

I've been a paying customer and supported this establishment for over 10 years, so what happened during my recent visit was extremely disappointing and humiliating. I became sick to my stomach while eating and went to the restroom for about 7-8 minutes. Within minutes, multiple employees came in asking if I was okay. What started as a wellness check quickly turned into me being accused of doing drugs. A waitress even came into the restroom and said, "You can't do that in here," followed by "Nos or whatever you're doing." I was then told security/concierge had been called because I was supposedly "passed out," which was completely untrue. I entered that restroom with nothing but my phone. I was simply dealing with a stomach issue and using the bathroom. I should never have been made to feel embarrassed or forced to explain something so private in front of employees and other customers. After supporting this place for over 10 years, I felt profiled, targeted, and completely disrespected. The entire situation was humiliating and ruined my day. I hope management reviews the cameras, speaks with the employees involved, and understands how unacceptable this experience was. Paying customers deserve dignity, privacy, and respect. read more

This is what brunch is supposed to be like. The 70s-style cafe was fun and there is extensive outdoor seating perfect for a southern Californian late morning. Just a heads-up: if you're alone or like party of 2, the BAR seating is first come first served and you can skip the line outside. My daughter was so excited to bring us here. She's been here a few times. We don't live close and so it's a bit of a drive but so worth it. Service was friendly. Our server was great.. When I really enjoy food, it's not just delicious, it's DA-LICIOUS! We sat outside instead of inside so I don't know what the inside looks like. My in laws pass this place every weekend, so we decided to finally give it a try while visiting. The restaurant itself is super cute from the outside and offers both outdoor and indoor seating. The indoor area has a really fun retro diner vibe that makes the place feel unique. The line honestly was not too bad for a Saturday morning, but the service took forever. It took a long time just to get seated because one girl was handling check ins, checking table availability, and seating everyone herself. Once we sat down, it also took awhile to place our order and we quickly realized asking for anything extra probably was not going to happen. I will say they do have a lot of plant-based breakfast and lunch options, which my husband appreciated. Overall though, for the amount of waiting, the food was painfully mid. The Waffle is a great location for quality brunch in Hollywood! You know how sometimes the closer you live to something, the longer it takes for you to actually end up visiting it?! This is one of those spots that I always see when walking or driving in Hollywood, and yet despite living nearby, hadn't actually gone until recently. What I found was that I have definitely been missing out!! Visiting for brunch on a Sunday afternoon, there was a bit of a wait, but still got some patio seating in nearly no time at all. I personally really enjoy the vibes here and being able to street watch/people watch from its expansive patio space, amply covered with umbrellas for shading. Service was very quick and friendly, with the mimosa flights we ordered being brought out so fast! The food itself is generously portioned and very delicious! I did a breakfast plate and upgraded the biscuit to one that's basically biscuits & gravy, which was SOOO good! The rest of the plate was very solid breakfast items. My partner loves the waffle sandwiches here and gets them for lunch sometimes - and this visit was nothing different when it came to him thoroughly enjoying it! We left in a great mood from the various mimosa flavors in the flights, the hearty plates of food that left us full AND with plenty of leftovers to finish off later that day! I found this place online bc my husband was craving waffles during our trip. We parked on the street nearby the building. We sat outside since the weather was nice and they had umbrellas on the table. Indoor seating was packed anyways but the place was clean. We both got the waffle flights. We enjoyed the tres leches, chococolate, chocolate chip and red velvet. The size was cute, and we liked that we were able to try a variety. The waffles were soft but also had crisp edges, and were very filling. I also got the lemon blueberry but wasn't a huge fan of it. Portions were decent for the price. I always get the bacon well done, waffles and breakfast potatoes, and they haven't missed yet. I recently tried the collard greens, and they were a 10/10. Vegetarian omelet (with eggwhites) featuring mushrooms, peppers, some onion, avocado, alll healthy! Small fresh fruit serving on the side, and sliced tomatoes with a little balsamic salad dressing drizzled on too. Two choices of mild salsa, small fresh-squeezed OJ, and delicious hot coffee with a bottomless cup, lol! The waffle is located on sunset blvd right by the Hollywood walk of fame. They have ample outdoor seating so for a perfect LA day that works out great. Food is really good in taste. Good serving sizes and value for money. We had the waffle breakfast sandwich with fried chicken and the pot pie with maple chicken sausage. The caramel latte was also pretty good.
