My in laws pass this place every weekend, so we decided to finally give it a try while visiting. The restaurant itself is super cute from the outside and offers both outdoor and indoor seating. The indoor area has a really fun retro diner vibe that makes the place feel unique. The line honestly was not too bad for a Saturday morning, but the service took forever. It took a long time just to get seated because one girl was handling check ins, checking table availability, and seating everyone herself. Once we sat down, it also took awhile to place our order and we quickly realized asking for anything extra probably was not going to happen. The Waffle is a great location for quality brunch in Hollywood! You know how sometimes the closer you live to something, the longer it takes for you to actually end up visiting it?! I found this place online bc my husband was craving waffles during our trip. We parked on the street nearby the building. We sat outside since the weather was nice and they had umbrellas on the table. Indoor seating was packed anyways but the place was clean. We both got the waffle flights. We enjoyed the tres leches, chococolate, chocolate chip and red velvet. The size was cute, and we liked that we were able to try a variety. The waffles were soft but also had crisp edges, and were very filling. I also got the lemon blueberry but wasn't a huge fan of it. Portions were decent for the price. The waffle is located on sunset blvd right by the Hollywood walk of fame. They have ample outdoor seating so for a perfect LA day that works out great. Food is really good in taste. I have been coming to the Waffle for over 15 years. It's my go to before Pantages matinee shows. And honestly, it's always been good. Until Sunday. They were busy, but not overly. We waited to be seated about ten minutes. We were the only ones in line. There were four open four-tops on the patio. Hist and staff were delivering water, coffee, food orders to tables. No worry. The patio was lovely with a gentle breeze, and warm. Seating was pleasant. We were seated and then asked about drinks. We didn't get drinks or service (orders) for over 30 minutes. Not even water. We finally did place our orders when water came. Then another 20 minutes and some drinks came. Then we asked our server about the food order. Then about 10 minutes and the food and the rest of the drinks. So after placing the food order we waited 30 minutes. Three of the dishes were good! Salmon waffles, all American waffle. Eggs on them warm. But- my plate came-Florentine scramble. Eggs cold. Not even warm inside. No goat cheese anywhere, not melted inside- nothing. Sourdough toast instead of biscuit. Greasy country potatoes that were mixed with overly crisp slivers of potato (like potato peel shavings), and super salty. It's so weird. I've never had service or food like that at the Waffle. Our whole group was surprised. We almost left after one hour with no food and no drinks other than water... this may be why the lines are not as long as they used to be. I was really disappointed, and I'm not usually fussy. I was a server. Clearly my plate had sat waiting for some time, and wasn't made properly. But my breakfast was awful. And our experience subpar. We barely made our show after giving two hours time for breakfast. Most of it spent waiting without even drinks. Sad. read more

She was doing everything, running back and forth, bussing tables, taking orders, even hosting, and still managed to keep everything smooth. It was honestly crazy to watch, but she handled it like a pro and still delivered excellent service. Sunday, I came here for the first time and WOW. The food was delicious. I got the chicken sandwich with a side salad. The house made balsamic vinaigrette and thousand island dressings were top tier. But even better was the service! First of all, Trevor had the whole outdoor seating area on lock. He served as a host and the server. He was very attentive and had great menu recommendations. He noticed my friend and I were a little cold and suggested a different table with less of a breeze, and it was perfect! He handled a very busy outdoor area with a great attitude, never once appearing to be stressed or bothered. Trevor was really that guy! I haven't experienced customer service like that since the 90s. My friend and I asked to speak to the manager to rant and rave about Trevor (he was that good!) but unfortunately after waiting for about 10 min, we were told the manager wasn't going to be available.
